We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express attached to On Tap. We ate dinner here as it was late and wanted to stay close. Atmosphere is ok. It's definitely more of a bar than restaurant. Big bar, and plenty of tables and some booths. Food, wasn't a fan. The special menu boasted great appetizers and specials but food wasn't even close. I got the Bullpen BBQ Chicken Sandwich. Didn't know it would be chicken fingers with BBQ sauce (though it would be grilled chicken - but I didn't ask so....). The sandwich was mostly Ciabatta bread and a couple of fingers. My daughter had the sliders and said they were eh... Daughter #2 ordered a cheesesteak that was mostly peppers and onions. If you stay at the Holiday Inn I'd try to find a better place for dinner.

We were staying at Holiday Inn for business. The waiter was nice and offically put me on to my beer of choice from now on (I dont drink beer ) . The wings were delicious we got Sweet chilli and Teriyaki. But unfortunately mixed with boneless which we didnt ask for. The Quesadilla was great and full, but... I found a piece of plastic in it. I was so disappointed . The waiter was great and everything she gave me sample plights so i can find " my beer". . We didnt go back to the location to speak about it . It wasnt worth it. But I would suggest eating there and staying there . You are allowed to bring drinks and food back to your hotel room.

My philly steak was on a huge stale roll. I had to pull out the insides to eat it. If was fading apart from staleness. The coleslaw is heavy on mayo. The onion rings didn't really have any flavor. A woman from kitchen staff came in to talk w my waitress who was sitting at the bar on her phone and the other girl was playing a video for her on her phone and the volume was so loud we couldn't hear the music. The music is so low we can hear the other customers conversations. The Waitress asks how everything is as she's waking by. She isn't really interested in our food nor did she notice the plates of stale bread piled up on our table. There are only 4 tables of customers and 4 people at the bar and it's almost 7. The time before when I was here was July and about the same then. Visually it's a nice bar. The staff is just her to get a paycheck and really isn't caring about any customers experience here. The staff is all deadpan. Ugh.

After checking Yelp for suggestions, Crescent Wrench popped up as a suggestion. A short time later we arrived at the Wrench. Upon entering the Barmaid/Waitress greeted us with a warm hello. We took a table and were immediately asked what beverage we wanted. We each found something off the menu that sounded good. I ordered the hot Italian Combo which came with fries. My wife had the hamburger quesadilla and she loved it. Both were hot and very good. The Tavern isn't huge, but it is cozy and this is what I'd call a Home Town Tavern.

This restaurant housed Pam's pub and was probably taken on by new management in the last year or so. Overall the place is a perfect place if you like to watch football. The place was packed with football enthusiasts watching the game, drinking beer, refilling popcorn and screaming as their team scores or messes up. This is a true American joint with typical American food. Wings were decent, quesadilla, macaroni salad and fries were great. I'm yet to eat the wrap as I was stuffed and had to bring it home. Overall a great place that's tucked away in a strip mall. Most of the seating is on bar stools with swivel chairs that actually gets you a better view of different games.

I ordered this as takeout and just had to take a couple of bites in the car before going home to try it nice and warm. This kind of sandwich is hard to find. A special roll needs to be used for this called a kimmelweck roll. A kimmelweck (or kummelweck) roll is a crunchy, Kaiser-type bread roll topped with coarse salt and aromatic caraway seeds, primarily known for defining the Buffalo, New York, "beef on weck" sandwich. Originating from 19th-century German immigrant traditions, they are usually filled with roast beef and soaked in au jus. The sandwich was loaded with juicy flavorful roast beef. The bun had caraway seeds and coarse salt all over the top of it which complimented the beef deliciously. It also had a horseradish sauce on the sandwich, so good. It was served with tasty fries and two little cups of au jus. I would definitely order this again.

I've been to Innovo Kitchen in Latham several times over the years and I've enjoyed it every time. They have a unique menu that changes periodically, but I always find something that catches my eye. The interior has an industrial feel which I like, with a lot of exposed brick. The tables are made from old bowling lane wood, which is a really cool touch. When you walk in there is also a bowling pin displayed in a glass case. I remember there being a bowling alley somewhere in that plaza when I was a kid, so it seems likely the building has some history tied to that. The tables are also nice and large, which makes the dining experience more comfortable. Tonight I ordered the Monte Cristo burger which is described as battered Buckley's Bread sourdough, a 6 oz special grind burger, Taylor pork roll, Swiss, and Twin Leaf Farms maple aioli. It was quite tasty and I really enjoyed the hint of maple syrup flavor on the burger. The crinkle cut fries that came with it were also very good. Another person in our party ordered the White Chicken Parmesan, described as a crisp chicken cutlet topped with ricotta and garlic spinach and fresh mozzarella, with garlic parmesan cream and lumache pasta. They said it was delicious. Someone else had the Crispy Skin Salmon and enjoyed that as well. A child at our table ordered macaroni with red sauce. The portion was surprisingly large and they liked it, which is impressive because they are particularly finicky. For dessert we ordered something we've had here several times before, the peanut butter mud pie. It's basically ice cream in pie form with an Oreo cookie crust and chocolate fudge. It's very tasty and also a generous portion. At the end of your meal they also offer everyone at the table a tasty piece of gourmet chocolate. One thing that really stood out tonight was the attentiveness of the management. Two different managers stopped by our table at different times to check and make sure everything was good. I recognized one of them because I've seen him there before and he always seems to make a point of checking in with guests. The other person had seated us so I initially thought she was the hostess, but after she stopped by during the meal I asked if she was a manager and she confirmed that she was. I mentioned that I was impressed that two different managers had checked on us, and that every time I've dined there a manager has stopped by to make sure everything was good. I thanked her and told her it was appreciated. During the summer and fall they also have a very nice patio area for outdoor dining. On cooler nights they have heaters and a fireplace which makes it a great place to sit outside. I will definitely return here again in the future. 5 stars

Because we have a toddler, I stayed away. However, on a cold December Saturday night I decided that it was time for an adventure. A Philly adventure... When we arrived the seating area was very empty and we quickly found our own table. There were lots of TVs on showing sports but because they were muted, and because the background music was soft we could actually hear ourselves. It was nice. The staff were very friendly. I ordered a cheesesteak, my wife ordered smoked wings, and we later got a cheese pizza for our son. The food came out pretty quick. I loved my cheesesteak. Now, I have no idea how "authentic" it is but the bread was lovely and light and crisp, the meat was good, and the hot peppers were actually hot. The smoked wings were okay, but I am more of a deep-friend Buffalo sauce type of guy and they tasted more like roasted chicken (which... they were). The pizza was very good and the sauce was a little bit sweet but it was nice that it didn't taste jarred. They have their own type of pizza and it worked. I think we came at the right time, as they were setting up for a 12-person party which would have made things really loud. Is there a dance hall upstairs? I dunno, but I never noticed club music. I don't know if we will always get so lucky on picking a night to visit but I wish I had stopped by sooner as it was a nice place to go and eat.

We also are fans of the Detroit style pizza we were first introduced to at Whitman Brewing in Saratoga. Korner Bar & Grill is closer to our home, and it would be more convenient if their pizza was equally as good. Arriving on a Saturday around 6 PM it was apparent that they are already popular after being open for only about one week. None of the tables were available and only 4 seats at the very long bar were vacant. We chose two bar seats that were the furthest from the dining room where a fellow was entertaining with his guitar and singing. These seats were close to the entrance with an occasional cold draft as people arrived and left. We chose these seats because the noise level was unbearable everywhere else. I actually turned my hearing aids off to tolerate the noise level. Our server at the bar was friendly and welcoming. She quickly served us water and provided us with a "cheat sheet" of the available beverages. There is no written food menu. Numerous QR code cards are posted asking you to use your phone to read the food menu. A soda ($3.50) for my wife and a 20 oz. draft Modelo ($7.50) for me were quickly served. Most impressive was how quickly the kitchen served our apps. 5 minutes! Yes, FIVE MINUTES! Crinkle Cut Fries ($6) and Uber Cheese Stixs ($13). I've never had fries from Nathans so I can't attest whether these compare fairly as implied by the menu. But I grew up on crinkle cut fries that my Mom made, and hers were better. My wife thought that many of these fries seemed like they were dehydrated. The menu says that the Uber Cheese Stixs are house made with 5 types of cheeses and a corn flake breading. The breading was nice and crispy and the cheese inside was soft to almost runny. The best part IMO was the melba sauce. Our two 8-inch square (6 pieces each) pizzas were delivered in a very reasonable 15 minutes. My wife went with the weekly special Shrimp Scampi ($17). I choose the basic cheese pizza with San Marzano tomatoes ($12) and added three toppings (sausage, mushrooms, & peppers) for $7 more. Both of our pizzas were flavorful and were actually more flavorful the second day - although less crispy, of course. Just like I've never been to Nathans for fries, I've never had pizza in Detroit. If I'm comparing Detroit Style pizza in Colonie with Detroit Style pizza in Saratoga Springs, I would prefer Saratoga. While KB&G has an airy dough, I think Whitman's is slightly lighter and airier. Both have nice crispy cheese edges, but KB&G edge is oilier. Somebody let me know what days/times are the slowest. I'd like to return.
