It was Cinco de Mayo and all the Mexican restaurants were loud and too brightly lit and overflowing with patrons. We walked past Farmacy's window and one of the chefs gave a friendly wave. We stopped in (had eaten there before) and prepared ourselves for a sure to be delicious meal. They have a fun frequently changing menu of small, medium and large plates so you can choose your own foodie adventure. If you want to sit at the bar you get a great view of the chefs at work preparing your meal. If you want a cozier experience, sit in the comfortable seating in the rear of the restaurant. Our server was very attentive but chill and knowledgeable. We got the Utica greens to share as an appetizer, a cocktail and Mad Max local beer, then a burger with hand cut fries and a chicken stuffed poblano. Dessert was a passion fruit chocolate tart which we took to go. If you're looking for well crafted food with a creative twist, this place is a great choice. This place is a culinary gem! Fantastic food, both menu choices and quality. The menu changes every few days so the culinary delights you'll experience are different every time you visit. Service was very attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. Taylor was one of the best servers we've had in a long time. Everything is made fresh daily, and if you sit at the Chef's Counter, you'll see it first hand. You'll also get great descriptions of everything from the awesome Chefs and maybe get to try something extra too. I recommend using the reservation system on their website and specify your seating preferences. You can choose from the Chef's Counter, the bar, a high-top table, a low table, or an outdoor table (weather permitting). We also appreciated them asking about food allergies on the reservation system too and they verified it when we arrived. We were so impressed with the unique menu options that are offered in the appetizers, small shareable plates, main courses, desserts, and drinks. Popped in for a quick dinner last night after a recommendation from friends. We were seated quickly and the staff was very friendly, but the space was so dark. It was just turning dusk so I assumed we would be met with more light at some point during the meal, but that never happened. Luckily we were next to a window which helped a bit. Portions were very small considering the price of the items. The fried cheese curds were $16-17 and we received maybe 5. Our party ordered the house burger and the fried chicken sandwich. Neither were remarkable. Crumbly buns, and very dry. Everything fried, had a bit of a cinnamon taste. The fries were heavy with grease. All in all, just not up to par for the price. read more

I tried things I would have never ordered and was even served things not on the menu. Just be aware this does come at a higher price, but in my opinion sooooo worthy of the cost! The bread was the best I've ever had the oysters were nice; creamy with a lite flavor. Cheese is a dish with cheese, bread , jam and pickled onions. It was ok. Lastly, was the sweet potato. This review is for the catering side of their business. I have nothing but praise for the restaurant. However, after attending a wedding catered by them, they fell short of our expectations The wedding was in a venue where the food was premade and brought in. This was all part of the coordinating months before the actual event. There were some expenses that were slipped into the final bill that were ridiculous. No explanation was given and the up charges were just added. No responsibility was taken for the lack of communication or the up charge. The salad that was served was nowhere near the salad that was discussed and paid for. It was missing many components. Rather, it was just Greens and couple other veggies and dressing. No refund or credit was offered. Rather responsibility/blame was transferred to the customer. Speaking for my dinner, the surf and turf was cold. Not cool or lukewarm. Cold! I brought it to the attention of the waste staff who promptly said let us take care of that for you. They took my plate away and came back five minutes later with my plate Which was boiling hot because they had microwaved it. I am not a culinary expert by any means. But, microwaving lobster tail, and filet mignon ruins it. Not to mention, I burnt my hand when I touch the plate. I brought it to the attention of the Wait staff and their explanation was we don't have any other dinners. They did have dinner, however, for their entire staff, and some people who were staying in one of the motel rooms on property. I guess they just didn't have an extra plate for the father of the groom. I will say, however, most people enjoy their dinner. Many complained that it was not hot. But for the most part, they. I would not try to persuade anyone not to use them for an event. I would, however encourage them to be sure that everything that is discussed is in writing, and that the owner who did not attend the initial meeting is aware of everything discussed. I would also suggest That the conversation take place prior to the event just to make sure that all the I s are dotted, and the Ts are crossed. My understanding is that the owners are a husband and wife team. Husband runs the restaurant and the wife runs the catering portion of the business. I could be wrong, but I doubt that. I do encourage everyone to patron the establishment for dinner as their food is very good. read more

I love it here. Everything from the food to the cocktails to the atmosphere. Farmacy has my favorite cocktail list around -- so creative and well done. I've never had a cocktail I didn't like here, and find it so fun to pick random ones and see what appears in front of me. I am thankful that the menu invites vegetarians to the table and changes with the seasons. The house sourdough bread and the blistered shishito peppers are always a must for me, and then from there it's great to see what seasonal veggie dishes are on the menu. Dessert is also a must try here; "the upside down pineapple-ish" is probably one of the most nuanced dessert dishes I've ever had. Brunch is my favorite and a friend recommended we go here on a girls weekend. The location is in Downtown Glen Falls. I found parking on the street easily but it was Sunday morning. The location is quaint and cozy. I like the intentional touches of books and chalk drawings on the wall for the holidays. The location is considered a restobar (bar style restaurant). The front grill is framed by a large bar. I like this style of restaurant. The staff is so friendly and engaging and really served with Grace and a smile. There style is homey and anticipates your needs ahead of you. On Sunday the wait is a bit longer and they don't take reservations, so be mindful of that when making plans to go. The food was fantastic I ordered the rodeo benedict which included focaccia with bacon, bbq hollandaise, onion ring, poached egg, and potato's. The onion ring sat on the bacon which sat on the focaccia and the egg was nestled-in the onion ring. It was delicious the onion ring was fried perfectly a nice golden brown and not to hard. I love what they've done with the place. Last time I was there, it was the previous restaurant. My first experience at Farmacy was for the drag brunch on a lovely pre-Halloween Sunday morning. Holy crap did we have fun! What's better than having an adult beverage (one had a mimosa and the other 2 of us had bloody's) while eating really good food and enjoying a wicked fun drag show? On a Sunday? That's my idea of church. As one of my favorite drag queens says, "Hallay-looooo!". I loved the potato latke that started us off. This was served on a thin layer of apple sauce with a dollop of cream on top. Main dish was sliced beef with a salad, potatoes and a poached egg (intentionally served at a cool sixty something degrees). I loved the flavors and textures of everything. Was it because they put a LOT of vodka in my bloody? I don't know....but I belonged to the clean plate club. Vegan/Vegetarian options were available. Dessert was a bread pudding served with chocolate chips and dried cranberries. With whipped cream (divine). Again - delicious! Our server was the best - someone I'd want to hang out and have an adult beverage with. The staff was dressed up for halloween and all seemed to be having as much fun as the audience (while still working their asses off). I definitely need to get back for dinner. Got carry out this evening that cost 150.00 for a loaf of sourdough that was the size of a small cantaloupe, shishito peppers-appetizer, shaved fennel salad and 3 orders of "halibut cheeks." We called and asked about the portion as we were not familiar with "Halibut Cheeks." We were told that they were 6 to 8 oz. of protein which is a standard size portion of fish for an adult. We get home and open the box to find a 32. entree the size of a half dollar! These "Halibut Cheeks" are on dry rice cakes the size of 50 cent pieces. It's a "small plate" not a "large plate" as they have it listed and one only fit for a small child. We were visiting the area and with friends who frequent this establishment. We called the establishment and spoke to a manager, named Carter, who wouldn't clearly identify himself when we asked several times to speak to a manager. He finally said he was a manager. He was a manager who clearly knows nothing about management. We were given the run around on the phone and Farmacy GF didn't offer to do anything about the situation. Just an attitude of "Oh well" was what we received. We then asked to speak to the owner, AJ, he refused to get on the phone to try to rectify the situation. The food that we received from Farmacy GF was overcooked- the two quarter sized pieces of Halibut were dry and totally OVERPRICED. The avocado mousse tasted like green mayonnaise. The fennel salad didn't fill a salad bowl when taken out of its to go container. If you plan to have "dinner" at Farmacy GF you should save your time and money and go to any other establishment you can! While still eating our dinner at 6:45 PM we were informed that we had to vacate the table by 7 PM. I rushed to complete my dinner while my date took the rest of her dinner home. My husband and our friends were visiting last weekend and sat by the chefs counter where we could watch them cooking our meals which was a treat on its own. Sat at the bar in front of the open kitchen and felt like I should pay these fellas for the show. They seem to be a tight team and I loved seeing my food coming right off the grill and on to a plate that comes right no me by one of the chefs. Had the charcuterie to start which was solid but felt more bread heavy than meat heavy for a starter that is labeled "meat". The grilled hanger steak was so satisfying I may have uttered an expletive while eating it. The cooks obviously take pride in their work and it shows in the food. I understand the pressure to maintain the "farm to table" menu, and I do love the fact that the menu changes daily, plus the pressure of having serious farm to table competition next door, but when the food seems to be "over engineered" I want to roll my eyes a bit. Words like pretentious or a little chi-chi come to mind. I mean sometimes Meat, Veg, Starch, Bread is all that's necessary. I would also leave the PEI oysters at the beach. Too small, unsatisfying. Finally, the bench seating and metal chairs are genuinely uncomfortable- seriously. Now the very, very good: Service- world class, the "hanger" steak was awesome. Wow is all I can say about Farmacy. I have not had a dining experience exceed my expectations this much in a long time. Farmacy is a quaint little restaurant located near the circle in Glen Falls, why is a restaurant named Farmacy not located in the country side, I can not answer that. However naming aside this was an amazing restaurant. The decor inside was nice and quaint, I appreciated the mismatched dishes, it was a nice little touch it added. The food selection was amazing, the waitress said the menu is constantly being updated depending what is in season and fresh, so it's always a new and fresh. We had the lobster roll and chicken meatballs, both were great and flavorful. The deserts were out of this world, the ice cream flight had a Parmesan ice cream, this is not something I knew I need in my life. The only thing better than the food was out service. Taylor was our waitress, and she was outstanding. Offering suggestions that made our dinner better, checking in on us frequently, or even just engaging in polite conversation.
