We came in here in a whim on a Friday night. Wanted to sit at the bar (when they opened at 5) and were told that the two seats we were going to be seated at, were only available until 7... so 2 hours. TOTALLY ok considering we didn't make reservations. I had the "little italy" and he had a bourbon neat (easy drinks ). For food we had some snacking foods - oysters, shishito peppers, and the cheese plate. All SO good! We will definitely be back (when there isn't a time limit and we remember to make reservations!). read more

We went for brunch. Overall, it was disappointing, especially compared to our last visit a year ago. The hostess asked us to wait while she prepared a table, but then she seemed to forget about us so we needed to ask someone else. It was a very cold day and the restaurant was also extremely cold. We were seated in the back section. Probably 90% of the people dining were either in hats, scarves, and/or winter coats. We asked one server if it was possible to make it warmer, and she said they didn't know how to change the temperature because the owner was not there. The temperature on the wall mounted mini split unit read 46°, and that server told us that temperature probably reflected that the unit was on an outside wall. We then asked our waitress if it were possible to make it less cold, and she cheerily suggested that we get mimosas to warm us up. The restroom was probably 10° warmer than the restaurant. My friend's 1st cup of coffee was filled only 2/3. Good thing there were free refills. My tea order was incorrect. The brisket hash was underwhelming (and we loved it last time!). The potatoes were colder than room temperature. The hash was dry and room temperature. We had to ask to have it heated up. The replacement dish was still not great. Farm to table concept and small seasonal menu absolutely delightful! From small plates to medium plates and main entrees were all superb. Attention to detail did not go unnoticed. Sadly after trying so many items on the menu there was no room for dessert. I wish we were seated closer to the open kitchen so we could see the magic happen. The only downside was being seated at the back of the eatery by the restrooms and by the emergency exit door which was rather drafty. I will be back again soon. read more

My fellow Yelper, Ed R., gave you a nice overview of this wonderful farm-to-table restaurant that opened at the beginning of April. While he didn't mention any of the food that they had, I promise that I will. If you've ever been to Forged in Hudson Falls and enjoyed the food there, you're bound to like Farmacy - it's the same ownership delivering the same high quality experience. While the menu is updated almost daily, the only thing that's really important is knowing that the food is fresh and as local as possible. The only thing that's not prepared in-house is the Hunts Catsup. While the menu offers a house burger, steaks, and a vegan power bowl as main courses, we were interested in trying a cross-section of their offerings so we concentrated on the "small", and "medium" sections of their menu and left the "large" section for a future visit. But first, from their 8 craft beers on draft I had a Melvin Brewing Scenario Porter ($6; 7.2% abv; 12? Oz.) while my wife ordered a Half Acre, Gone Away IPA ($8; 7% abv; 12? Oz.) Both were very enjoyable. Now, onto our food. Cold Garden Snack ($7) - blistered salad turnip, English peas, fresh carrot, and crumbled brown butter Italian focaccia. We're talking micro carrots that are so young and tender that you eat the tops and the bottoms. Everything fresh and flavorful. When we see Shishito peppers on a menu, we know we're going to order them. The Blistered Shishito Peppers ($12) here are grilled and served with a brown butter+ginger beer aioli, fresh lime, and grated pecorino. The peppers were beautifully charred and blistered, and the citrus and aioli flavors gave an added flavoring that we weren't accustomed to with Shishitos, but these were not the small peppers imported from Spain that we first fell in love with. Because of their popularity, American farmers are now growing them and they really seem like they are a different strain of pepper and calling them Shishitos, IMO is misleading. For me, my highlight dish of the meal was Fried Cheese Curds ($10) - the curds are breaded, fried and served with a side of blackberry + black pepper Melba sauce topped with pickled hot pepper relish and a sprinkling of chopped basil. Great flavors and textures here. Their Seared Monkfish ($15) was another item on the menu that initially caught my eye. It is served with a spicy English pea dashi, hot pepper oil, enoki mushrooms, arugula, and mushroom powder. It was not overly spicy, had an abundance of flavor and that poor-man's lobster texture. It was quite good, our second favorite dish. My wife's hands down favorite dish was their Blue Oyster Mushrooms and Other Things ($11). So beautifully plated on a dish with a peach and leaf pattern, it was almost deceptive as to where the food ended and the plate painting began. The sliced 6-minute egg revealed a golden yolk flowing out over the plate's painted peach and leaves, and a decorative flower placed by the chef among the carrot top gremolata and pecorino béchamel was the perfect finish to the cluster of shelf-like oyster mushrooms. This dish tasted as wonderful as it looked. The nice thing about ordering smaller plates is that it leaves room for dessert. I decided to try the Chocolate on Chocolate on Chocolate... ($8). The ellipsis should alert you that there is even more chocolate in this dish. On top of a delicious smoke ice cream they place sections of chocolate mousse, chocolate cake crumb, chocolate meringue, chocolate malt crunch, salt, and crust. This is a chocolate heaven of flavors and textures. It also went nicely with a cup of Kru Sumatra coffee ($2). My wife went in a different direction after dinner. She had a Camp Counselor cocktail ($10) made with bacon house-infused bourbon, maple syrup, rosemary, and fresh smoke. I was driving. We sat at the bar because those were the only seats available at the time we made a reservation for 5:30. Service was outstanding from our bartender, Jon. We look forward to returning. Great menu, fantastic decor, and a menu that is as varied and inventive as I have seen. I lived in Germany for eight years , the Schnitzel is a must. I've been to Farmacy quite a few times now and have always had a great meal. The restaurant is small so make sure you have reservations. Call to reserve the seats (stools) at the chef's table (bar) for a fun and interesting dinner! We typically start with the sourdough bread and oysters. The menu changes frequently but there are a few items always on the menu. The pic is of duck with three preparations of kohlrabi (yum!). The duck was so tender and flavorful. When I told my boyfriend I was going to leave a review for Farmacy, he told me to leave a "shining" one. He said the hangar steak was the best he ever had. I had the chicken thigh sandwich and the arugula/watermelon salad as a starter. We also shared the cheddar/pickled shallots/peach jam/ bread plate. It was out of this world! Service was friendly, attentive, and consistent. Loved that they cooked right in front of us, that was exciting. We also had the ice box ice cream sandwich for dessert, which was liquid smoke ice cream between two brownies and some fudge and torched marshmallows - my boyfriend was hesitant at first about the ice cream but "one bite in, I was sold"- direct quote from him. It was a great dining experience that we will look back fondly on and can't wait to visit the Lake George/Glen Falls area soon again so we can eat here again! read more

This place stands unique in a land of baby- back ribs and trendy burgers. It's small with a good vibe and everyone at the front is happy to see you especially the chef and crew. Always waving to passers by in the streets. You are welcomed in and take your seat and strap yourself in. Great daily menu with the date stamped in the bottom right. Two dinners and a brunch, which by the way is NOT to be missed. The food is thoughtfully prepared with an eye towards fresh ingredients. The pork cheeks are incredible as is the taco selections. We start with a bunch of small dishes and move to the medium and the staff is happy to create a tasting experience for you on your whim. We byo'd for a small fee. The doughnut holes are amazing as are the croquettes, daily veg and steak. The grilled cheese on the brunch menu is out of this world. The staff is fun and professional and attentive without being in your face. Sidney served us and she's just fantastic.i can go on but you get my drift. The vegetarian sausage plate was very odd. I would say flavors that just don't mix. The Berger's we had were not cooked to order. As well as the steak once again, not cooked to perfection. 7:00 on a weeknight we order off a short limited menu and the waitress says they are already out of one item. So...We put our order in and 20 minutes later the waitress came back to say they were now out of the seafood dish I ordered. What? The only thing on the menu I'd eat due to dietary needs was now not available. So she said the chef could make an alternative that she described, and I accepted. But when all of our dinners came, it was not what was offered but merely plain pasta, with onions. I asked her why I got pasta, and she said that's what the chef decided he could give me. It was terrible and I didn't eat it. Waitress never asked how our food was or commented on the fact that I ate nothing. I eat everything including fish and dairy- just not meat. Moral of the story - if you don't eat meat go elsewhere. Bizarre experience And how is it at 7:00 they are out of 2 dishes? Very expensive and subpar $30 meal not eaten. We were with friends who suggested the place so didn't want to make a scene, but too many wrong turns to be taken seriously. read more

It's hard to give this place a meh review because it is such a cool place. Wonderful concept; Farm fresh and innovative, but we had a bad experience; we all got sick. We don't know specifically what it was but, we liked most of our food. The one thing we did not like was the cold cucumber soup; it tasted weird. We also had Shishito peppers which were great and then, I think is was called shiitake mushroom carpaccio (weird concept, but tasty) My girl friend did not eat that so, it must have been the soup. When I look at the pictures of the food, I am wild to try this place again. It's not what you would expect in an upstate New York Town, I must say this town is way cuter than it was 40 years ago; super gentrified in a country way. read more

Don't go here if you are a vegetarian. The smell was so off putting, but I was going to give it some effort until my husband squeezed the black bean whatever it was out of its sheath and then it was a hard no for me. Waiter didn't even ask why this monstrosity was not eaten. Husband thought carnitas bland, kid did like the chicken sandwich. The cocktail was the best part of meal (the great pretender). I really wanted to like this place, and we've tried it several times, but we just blew $150 on a sub par dinner that was worse than the dinner we had at the ambrosia last weekend. Sigh. read more

SO SO SO good. I would recommend to ALL. They have loads of different options. I love the small medium and large categories they have in their menus! I got the pulled chicken tacos and they could probably fit in my hand. They are ever small. I got 4 and ate all of them and I was pretty full. But I also had so much sourdough bread before. Their sourdough bread is absolutely insane. So good. I'm obsessed with it. I love how they had a mocktail section in the menu! Perfect for the kiddos if they want a cool drink like their parents the Hannah Montana is pretty good! The desserts were absolutely incredible. My favorite was the choco taco. We also got the donut and that was super amazing. Service was kind of slow but the vibes in there were good and the bread kept me held over also little side note! The menu changes every few days! I was going in hoping to get the carnitas tacos but sadly they didn't have them that day! The pulled chicken was still good! I love how they cook the food right in the front of the restaurant! Makes me feel like what I'm eating is a little bit healthier another side note! Their fries with the Asian aioli is absolutely incredible. Downtown Glens Falls has a very cool looking scene. Does "looking" good translate into good? This place has a very good look as well as sound track. Could be Brooklyn, Troy, Portland. Check out the decor, the mix matched old plates and service wear. Service is super super fast, like how did that happen so quickly? Requisite craft beer list and Sunday morning the bottomless mimosa was quite popular. Sorry that my coffee was quite terrible, but it looked cute. Food was decent. We wandered on Ridge Street and found that they only support takeout for the lunch menu. They allowed us to order at the door and greetings were warm from staff. We had a chicken wrap and tacos that were filled nicely with fresh ingredients by the chef. Both were flavorful, the only criticism was that the taco shells were "doughy" and had a strong flour only taste. The fries were nicely cut and seasoned with salt and pepper that clearly gave them some kick... Overall a good lunch to grab and go. Items were packed nicely and they supplied plastic cutlery as well...will definitely try seated service soon. The building is clearly aged, has high ceilings and metal trim. The seating is spaced nicely and area decorated nicely. read more

Had brunch at Farmacy last Sunday. It was hip-hopping when we got there - packed inside and out. We chose to grab a cocktail and wait for a table in the cute alley section. We were well attended to while we waited and within 15 minutes we were seated. Our server was a joy, handling the rush like a pro. We made a dent in the nice beer selection and leisured through a delicious brunch (no surprise there as we've had nothing but great luck with Farmacy for dinner). The absolute standout was their Zucchini Bread appetizer (though it could easily be a dessert as well). It was frickin' delicious. Nicely done Farmacy - keep killing it! read more

This place has a ton of potential, but falls so far from grace. The atmosphere is decent, if a bit eclectic. The service was sad. It took 20 minutes for aps and 110 minutes (nearly 2 hours) for mains. When the poor waitress finally served us our meal she sounded almost sorry for the food she served. I ordered the grilled cauliflower with coleslaw and it was extremely watery, there was a pool of water at the bottom of my dish, not in any means worth the wait. I then ordered the Black Forest cake for desert. It isn't a Black Forest cake. It's fudge with cherry ice cream and a baked meringue that tastes like the sillpat sheet it was baked on. Not to mention the fact that they literally forgot to give my father his credit card after paying. Overall possibly one of the most disappointing places I've ever eaten at. read more

Went here for the first time with friends who had been here once before. The atmosphere was very noisy, especially at last table in the back where we were under music speakers. Very hard to talk and hear over the "music". Parking is also distant here unless you are very lucky. Our waitress was attentive, but did a bit of overselling trying to move salads and desserts. The food (strange steak tartare, short rib mac and cheese, hamburger/fries) and was OK, but nothing I would rave about or go back for. We had the oysters to start. The vinaigrette did not have much flavor and the putting the oysters on cold rock pebbles instead of ice may look interesting, but doesn't do much to keep things cold. This restaurant should decide whether it wants to be a bar (that section looked good) or a restaurant with less people jammed into side by side tables like a school cafeteria. Once last note that with the last table extremely close to the rear inward only opening exit door, should there ever be a mass rush out, there would be people piled up in front of it. Maybe this restaurant would be better on a weekday for lunch, but a Saturday night was not for us here (our friends called afterword to agree and apologize). Needless to say, we have scratched this one off the return and recommend list. read more

I'm troubled by all the great reviews?? We were so excited to eat here after hearing such good reviews. We started off with the cheese and grilled bread appetizer. We got 4 slices of bread that were not grilled but soft and mushy. Not hard and crunchy. We got literally an inch of a mild cheese with a tablespoon of blueberry jam. I inch of cheese? How about a couple pieces?? No taste... so disappointing. We both ordered the grilled halibut with orange sauce and beet Cole slaw. The halibut was crispy so I'll give it that. It sat on what I think was cold couscous but it had zero taste and I mean zero taste. No orange flavor, nothing. The beet slaw was 7 slivers of purple cabbage and again , no taste. It was not Cole slaw, it was a garnish. We are so disappointed! We are not critical people but this food left us desperate for something flavorful. Our fish dish was $27.00 also, so not an inexpensive dinner out. I'm sorry Farmacy but we won't be back. read more
