They have a great menu with lots to choose from. They've even got a kids menu. Great portion sizes. Highly recommend the grilled cheese with tomato soup. Expansive selection of draft, can and bottle beers. Inside dining was large with tables spread with spacing. Service needs improvement - we were short silverware, we had to ask for menus, waitress came and asked how we were doing but walked away before we could respond, when paying the bill she didn't know what credit cards were accepted. I also felt my pastrami sandwich was a bit salty, but didn't want to complain since the rest of my group enjoyed their meals.

    Fun shots!

Downtown social is fun! Karaoke on Wednesdays! Game night on Thursdays! Friday and Saturday they have live music during dinner and Dj at 930!

We are locals like 3 minutes up the road so we needed a change of scenery and decided to go to sit outside and the downtown social. They have super comfortable seating out front (couches) that we sat on and relaxed with a few beers. We had a few inexpensive apps and enjoyed ourselves with some different scenery. Our waiter Owen was amazing and we'll definitely be back before the end of the summer season!

Glens Falls strikes again. Formerly the "dinner and a movie" venue located right next door to Davidsons, Downtown Social is another awesome addition to downtown GF. I received a text from friends that were going out to see Mitch Frasier perform...he was actually at Davidsons...but the outside seating at Downtown Social allows patrons to "steal" the neighboring live music situation. Friends were already seated outside when we arrived. The weather was perfect for dining al fresco and there are plenty of tables in the front/side of the restaurant. I'm so glad that I went inside to use the restroom at one point...because it looks fantastic! Clean, vast, modern interior decor. There is a nice sized stage for live performances near the bathrooms. Restaurant was bustling and busy. Our server was awesome; she was super friendly, helpful and just overall cool. Not pretentious and helped give this place a 5 star rating. The food was excellent! Friends ordered the Charcuterie plate....which is not my thing...but I loved the selection of bread and the fig jam. I did taste a few of the meats and they were solid. Several of us ordered the chopped salad with ahi tuna; others had the scallops and a steak dish. Dessert was a shared sampler/platter of 3 different choices: bread pudding, deconstructed cannoli and tiramisu. We had a great time and enjoyed our night here. The only thing I heard someone say re: the food was that the scallops were a bit too salty. I loved my salad and everything about this experience. It's been an extraordinarily stressful week and this was exactly what we needed. Kudos to the Downtown Social owners/operators. I wish them lots of luck and much success!

A big fan of sister business downtown city tavern so expectations were high. Service was weak. We placed a drink order and while waiting for them were looking over the menu. The waitress came back to see if we ready to order and to advise us "the bar is slammed so going to be a bit". We asked opinions on a few meals to be given a what most people order response, there did not appear to be any familiarity with the meals. I ordered the French dip that was served with a horseradish sauce and au jus. My dinner was served without the au jus. I asked for it and more water as the water glass was empty and waitress appeared oblivious. The au jus tasted more like tea it was so flavorless. The meat not much more flavorful and the French fries were cold. May not be fair to compare ever French dip I have ever had to the best one I have ever tasted (at the Ithaca Brewing Company.). Overall a bit of a disappointment since I am such a downtown city tavern fan. The one difference between them is Downtown Social takes reservations where as downtown city tavern does not.

Visiting the fiancé's parents this weekend, decided to try Downtown Social out since they knew we had never been there, and we like Downtown City Tavern. We ate outside so we were able to enjoy the live music from Davidson's for awhile, and then their music inside. We didn't go inside at all so I can't say anything about that, but the outside seating was pleasant enough on a fine summer evening. Seats were a bit uncomfortable-- they could definitely update. They have a lot of cool choices on the menu, particularly in their apps and bar bites categories. Brisket debris fries, nonna's meatballs, wings sounded especially good. We didn't order any, but noted for next time. The gals ordered the drink Love on the Rocks, while the guys had beers. They have a very nice cocktail list with a lot of options for different tastes. My drink was very good, and definitely girly! I ordered the rotisserie 1/2 chicken with pan jus with two sides of steamed buttery cauliflower and a garden salad, which was composed of argula, red onion, cherry tomato, and vinagrette. Yum! The chicken was very moist and flavorful, worth the little bit of wait our waiter said it would take. A good size as well. The fiancé got their bbq plate, with brisket and pulled pork, and coleslaw and cauliflower. He enjoyed this a lot. The parents ordered the chicken and beef stroganoff, which was highly complimented. Service was a little slow, but they also were very busy-- but I would go back. Lots of cool things to try on the menu!

They worked their tails off...but we had to get up and help with tables...they were under staffed. (Not their fault...obviously they do not do the hiring) Now the boo's.....the non-profit goes out of their way to make this a beautiful event for everyone in attendance and work hard all year planning this fundraiser to make money to help our local community struggling with a cancer battle. The Non-Profit Organization is a group of kind, caring and truly loving people. This is their number one fundraiser all year.....and the people they help in our community benefit from all their hard work. The decorations, details and thoughtfulness they pour into this yearly event is so evident to see. Sadly The Tower did not put the same details into their end of the facility. The food was absolutely horrid and we left starving hungry! Honestly it was cold, mushy and not fully cooked. It was all pulled from freezer food and truthfully it was the worse meal I have ever had. I happened to notice that we over-exceeded the room accommodations...the sign clearly stated one number and we were a larger group....when later asking after the event I learned the tower told the organization it could easily fit their group. Frankly we were crowded and its a wonderful thing the room was full of love for our community for else we may have been even more uncomfortable. The cleanliness of the room leaves a lot to be desired.....a cleaning crew could spend hours there! All that aside.....you attend a Dinner to eat.....the food was so nasty you could not eat! If you are looking into this space for event....I highly recommend a caterer. The food is not fit to feed humans! The Salmon was disgusting and smelled horrid. The chicken cordon bleu literally was a frozen piece thawed (half way may I add) and tasted awful..it was half frozen.....no white sauce to top it off either. The veggies.....who can go wrong with mixed veggies frozen and warmed? Somehow they did.....they were mushy and full of pepper or some funky seasoning! The bar was good....although the prices were a bit expensive. So it turned into a liquid dinner as the food was not edible. I have had the pleasure to eat all over the Glens Falls Area.....I can't recommend the tower to anyone.....for anything other then the view of the city skyline. They need some serious changes, new management and a decent chef. The non-profit organization is the only reason why we enjoyed the evening,.....they went above and beyond to make up for all the flaws....however I would not attend again if it was at The Tower.

Situated on the…read more9th floor of the Travelers Building (the tallest building in town, so there's no better view to be found), we enjoyed a hot, fresh buffet offering everything from soup (homemade clam chowder was amazing) and salad (fix your own with unusual items like fresh mozzerella available) to custom omelets, a carving station with ham and turkey, homemade mac and cheese, and an incredible array of desserts including cakes, brownies, cheesecakes, and much more. The chefs, servers and staff all go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need to enjoy your meal. Drinks are constantly refilled, which I always appreciate, and I noticed them offer to bring an omelet to one party's table, so certainly they do everything they can to provide top-notch service. We tried a little bit of everything, and only found one dish wanting, as the mac and cheese was a little dry. Everything else we sampled, from the soup and salad to the ham, turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy and desserts, was absolutely outstanding. For the price (about $25 per person including tax), you could have a much less enjoyable meal at many restaurants in the area, but The Tower offers excellent dishes in a buffet setting, with spectacular views of Glens Falls, Queensbury, and the foothills of the Adirondacks. Add in friendly and attentive service and you can't go wrong trying the Sunday brunch at The Tower.

This time it's still just a 3 star review . Everyone and all the staff were very friendly and attentive ..... the free breakfast is adequate but still no gluten free items , they do have Almond milk ! I'm not sure how they are getting 4 and 5 star reviews as the hotel is just not being kept up . Maybe they are short staffed ? The carpets by the elevators and in the rooms are stained and it makes the whole room feel a bit dingy! I would think this is a quick fix and something they would keep on top of ! Although it's basically clean and neat , things like the linens are old and the towels aren't fresh smelling . Their laundry room for their linens is across the hall from the kitchen, so the towels although clean and fluffy kinda smell like breakfast ! Yes we keep coming back because the plus side is it's a very convenient locate . The rates are good and it's just 15-20 mins from Lake George and Saratoga Springs . Staying a few days here is do- able . I do hope they take note and maybe add some freshener to the towels , get some new linens and clean the carpets .. it would make a huge difference!

The wraparound porch is just so nice to sit outside and eat in warm weather. They really utilize the space well, as it's covered in colder months so you can still sit there. I was here for brunch on Mother's Day with reservations and was seated promptly. Due to the holiday, parking was not possible in their lot as it can only take a few cars. No matter, as we were able to park nearby. Their brunch menu had plenty to choose from. You were given these small carrot cake muffins to start, then a choice of starter and main along with dessert, wow! You also had a few cocktails to choose from and you could also swap out for a mocktail too. It was extremely busy but the staff was attentive and handled our orders with ease. Their attention to detail was so nice. For starters we had a strawberry salad, French onion soup, tuna tartare, coconut shrimp. For mains, the burger, salmon Benedict, chicken and waffles and a Polynesian style breakfast bowl with coconut shrimp, sticky rice, pineapple and greens. Lastly on a full tummy we had coffee with chocolate mousse, strawberry shortcake and peanut butter cheesecake. Spending the morning here for brunch was the perfect way to kick off the day. Brunch was enjoyed by all. On a side note, I've also had dinner here and you can expect the same wonderful experience. I'll be back again!
