We (three adults) went to Brix on a whim after the Vermont State Fair. We did a quick Google search of restaurants in the area and the menu looked good. We left so glad that we picked it! The restaurant is small with a limited number of high tops inside, a bar, and a few tables outside. The decorations and vibes are adorable. We were impressed from start to finish. Peter, our waiter, was friendly and chatty (without being too chatty), which we really appreciated, and he definitely nailed small-town Vermont charm. One of us ordered the Salty Chihuahua drink. It was tasty and very well priced. One of us started with a small green salad which was loaded with olives and feta- yum!! There was not a single bite of food that wasn't delicious. It blew us away. We ordered three entrees: chicken sliders, grande salad, and a special: the summer squash skillet, which we added meatballs to. We will be talking about and figuring out what was in those meatballs for years to come. The dishes were on the smaller side, but the prices reflect the amazing quality of the food. We are three New Yorkers with lots of opinions and high standards when it comes to what we eat. Brix exceeded those standards. We have a ski condo on Stratton and don't often make the drive into Rutland, but any time we do, it's guaranteed we will be eating at Brix. read more

Went on Wednesday night. Had the nightly special which was an excellent Chicken Florentine pasta dish and wife had the veggie flat bread which was really good! Her cab wine was good as was my pilsner. Steve, the owner was very friendly and helpful with hikes and places to go even though we are out of towners. Highly recommend! read more

I would give zero star if I could. People here were nice and I could feel a good vibe here, but the food I ordered here was terrible. We ordered steak and scallop, but the steak stinks and scallop also had a weird taste that indicated it was not fresh. The good thing was our waiter took away the steak from our meal, but I regretted I have finished the scallop. After all, I would not recommend this place, at least, not for the main dish here. read more

One of the only so few places open in Rutland on Sunday and during Covid. The bistro is located across from Walmart and the farmers market. Mask required, we sat outside to be served for lunch. Our friendly waiter provided us with great beer and a we selected a bowl of veggies and quinoa, brown rice and beans It sounds so blend but it was very well spiced, and tasted wonderful. The lack of the 5th star is due to breathing windex a few times while eating when the server cleaned tables outside. We suggested he sprayed the liquid into a cloth to avoid having the wind blows the désinfectant in our face and food...but that clearly didn't work. I came here with my buddy Lionel and we had a great time. The service is spectacular and Peter is a true gem. He's extremely patient mad kind. We had the salmon and veggie meatballs were delicious and some cheesecake to boot. I enjoyed the cbd water and tried two of the cabs. There were reasonably priced and were of high quality. For those who like to explore the world of wine, this is a place that worth a visit. We ordered a total of six different glasses and enjoyed each thoroughly. Brix Wine Bar in an absolute gem in the Rutland downtown. My wife and I have frequented Brix since moving to Rutland at the beginning of the summer. As mentioned in previous reviews, the interior is cozy and aesthetically pleasing. Exposed brick walls extend to high ceilings, several high top tables make up a formal seating area of sorts, and a wine lovers themed bar top provides a casual place to have a drink. For sports fans, a single TV is usually playing in the background offering a very relaxed setting for taking in a game. During fair weather, Brix offers ample outdoor seating, always a treat especially since this can be hard to find in Rutland. Brix is so much more than a wine bar. That being said, they do wine very well. Their offerings are plenty and very diverse. With a variety of price points and fantastic weekly specials you can find a wine for everyone. The owner is attentive, friendly, extremely helpful and very knowledgeable about his menu offerings. We enjoy exploring new varietals and regions based off the recommendations of someone who knows more than us. If wine isn't your prefered beverage of choice don't fret. Brix has a variety of excellent beers both on tap and in bottles with weeknight specials providing some of the area's best offerings at very friendly price points. The same can be said for signature and typical cocktails. If you're a whiskey lover check their Facebook for their weekly discounted whiskey night. It's important to highlight the food offerings available at Brix, especially the homemade desserts. We'll get there. Brix offers a full menu included hearty salads, smaller side plates, artisanal flatbreads, sliders, vegetarian options, and pork belly (amongst others). In my experience the food had been prepared with immense care and is always very tasty. Bistro quality that rivals many other Rutland locations. The dessert offerings are, in my opinion, the distinguishing characteristic that propels Brix towards the top of my local list. Each week Brix releases their homemade dessert menu with photos on Facebook. Seasonal cheesecakes, pies, cobblers, sorberts, layer cakes, flourless cakes, and ice cream cakes have graced this list and made their way onto my plate over the last several months. I could individually breakdown why each was amazing but just trust me, you'll want to try at least one. Brix is casual, tasteful, and delicious. Whether you're looking for a quick stop before a show at the Paramount, a date night out or relaxing evening with friends, consider Brix as one of the best options in the area. read more

Fantastic little piece of a big city, in rutland - if you will. The interior makes you feel like you're in NYC or Boston. Small, cozy and very inviting. The wine selection is impressive, about 100 different kinds of wine to choose from. It's nice that they offer each wine by the glass so you can always try something new! The cocktail list is always changing with the seasons and regularly features local ingredients and spirits. If you're into craft beer, they have the best variety In the area. They also offer a small food menu with some of the best imported/local meats and cheeses you can get your hands on. I highly recommend trying everything, especially the dried fig salami.
