Went for a birthday dinner with 12 guests. We had such a great experience at Log Jam! Alyssa was our server, and she was absolutely amazing, extremely friendly with the best energy and vibe. She really made our experience even more enjoyable! All of the food was delicious, and the salad bar is truly top tier! I especially loved the chickpea salad. The Pomatini cocktail was AMAZING, and we also enjoyed the Irish coffee. For dessert, we had the TollHouse dessert and apple crisp, both were the perfect ending to a fantastic meal. Enjoyed a quiet adventure to the Log Jam recently. It was nice to have a bar that wasn't lined with televisions. It wasn't a rowdy bunch and the draw for me to come today was the salad bar. Love the old cash register and the serving staff is top notch. This is a busy restaurant, so expect to either make a reservation or wait for a bit. Let's talk about the fall menu that dropped this week. I wish I took a photo to show you, however, their main entrees (non-steak or seafood section) consist of 6 options and out of the 6, three of them are pork entrees. Baby back ribs, pork chops and then a third option. What was missing?? A chicken entree. There's literally one chicken sandwich on the menu and it's a sandwich. The bartender offered to have grilled chicken and veggie. Their only veggie is broccoli. Seasonal for fall would include squash usually. Love the log jam and will be back, but I may wait for a new menu to drop, this one didn't hit with me. I studied it for like 15 minutes trying to find something. It felt very alienating because I swell up from pork and I don't like eating a lot of bread or fried items. Had the haddock which was roughly a 3.5 oz portion with about 2 cups of broccoli. The broccoli was perfectly cooked, however, it's a cruciferous vegetable. In large quantities it can easily upset a tummy, which it did with mine. Enjoyed the haddock a lot, it was really well cooked. Ultimately, when I think of going to log jam, I don't immediately think I'm going for a burger, I immediately think I'm going for a healthy and delicious chicken entree. Next time maybe! This place is about 40 or so minutes from my house so I don't go too often. So I "rediscover" this place once or twice a year. The food and service is good, the restaurant is darker resembling a lodge. The real draw is the salad bar. It is not too big but it is both complete and well thought out. There are a few different breads including some artisanal ones with nuts and fruits. In addition to chopped salad vegetables, there are also a few side dish salads to choose from like potato salad and a pasta salad with tuna fish. I could have filled myself from just this salad bar. My last visit, I had a roast beef sandwich on some kind of specialty bread- apple or something. I remember both the bread and sandwich were ok but it needed some more seasoning or sauce. I think it came with chips that were just ok too. This dish was probably 3 out of 5 but the salad bar pushed it to a 4/5. Previously my wife and I ate there for one of the holidays or around the holiday- i think it was around Easter and I remember the meal was very good- around 4 or 4.5 out of 5. read more

I struggled deciding whether or not to bump up to 5 stars here. In my opinion the Lake George dining scene is woefully underwhelming outside of Barnsider and Log Jam (and obviously Martha's). That said, my latest meal here was definitely good, but not exceptional. I came with a large party and the service was great throughout our meal. I ordered the duck any my wife the petite filet. Prices were reasonable for this type restaurant. The filet definitely came back in excess of the advertised 8 ounces, which was a pleasent surprise. It was a great piece of meat and was cooked precisely, but lacked a bit in the seasoning department. The duck was good - and also plentiful - but a bit too fatty for my taste and the sauce was a touch too sweet. It has been literally AGES since I last visited the Log Jam. I used to go fairly frequently when I first moved up here. I guess Covid deterred me the last few years.... knowing that there is still a salad bar available. While I'm not a huge salad bar fan, these folks actually know how to do it the right way. It doesn't skeeeve me the way most salad bars do. The quality of the food is also excellent! We visited with friends from out of town and had an absolutely lovely, delicious meal. Cocktails included! We stopped here for lunch on our way home from Lake Placid. I loved the Adirondack decor and down home country feel. We sat at the bar, and our bartender was phenomenal! I have some unique food allergies and they were able to accommodate my dietary needs. Their salad bar is included in every meal and it had a wonderful selection. We had an amazing memorable experience!! Rustic ambiance, great food and not overpriced!! They seated us in this part of the restaurant where there were all beautiful plants around the whole room. Did research on places to dive in the area and felt The Log Jam restaurant would be nice. Reviews were good and the pictures mouth watering. I had my sights set on the price rib but was feeling little full when we went so I had a lighter dinner of scallops. Parking lot was pretty full but it's large so we found parking. Our party of three was seated right away. Seems the atmosphere is very friendly and several regulars were around. Servers seemed to have been there many years as well. Which had its ups and downs. Down part was they were overly friendly with the regulars that it took awhile for us to get waited on. Our server bright out drinks quickly but got my raspberry trees mixed up with unsweetened. Corrected it quickly so that was a plus. Salad bar was very nice. Not sure about any problems other Yelpers noted but we had a good experience. Salad we made was great. Our entrees came and the food was delicious. One of the few meals that all of us finished completely. We did however wait around for awhile for refills of drinks and to get the check. Our server was busy talking to others for so long that another server came over and cleared our table and thankfully brought the bill. Maybe he knew our server had a daily habit of over talking to others and neglecting the other customers. Our dining experience was great, food was great, just the end was a little lacking. Just got back from visiting Ticonderoga. So fun! Went to eat at The Log Jam, an enormous restaurant in Lake George. With the Americade motorcycle rally underway in town, it was tough to find seating but the staff made it work for me and the tour group that I was traveling with. It's a nice, rustic-looking restaurant. The manager made the rounds to say Hello to us and he made sure that we were doing okay. In the interest of speed, I ordered a salad bar and the soup of the day which was Goulash. It was very good. The salad bar had everything I could possibly want in a salad and it was replenished regularly. The tuna Mac salad there was awesome. The salad bar is $15 if you don't get an entree or appetizer. Perhaps a little steep but I think it might be all-you-can-eat. As a petite person, I probably don't eat enough. From the window, I had a great view of the outlet stores that Lake George is also famous for. I had to fight to the urge to go shopping. Perhaps another day! We had a slight mix-up with the check for our table but the staff took care of the issue quickly and it wasn't a surprise because the place was really packed. We had dinner reservations and seated promptly. This restaurant is one that we have been going to for more than 25 years and this visit our reservations were 515 pm . See Generally I see always busy, but on this visit, it was about 3/4 full at about 5:15 in the evening. The waitress approached our table and put menus down. She asked if we wanted drinks and ee ordered. When my cocktail came, it was made incorrectly. It was 10 minutes before she came back to the table to take our order. The restaurant started to fill, There was no interaction with us on a personal level. She was more interested in tasking, and the transaction, she was not smiling and interacting with us as guests. She took our order she never smiled, and when she brought our dinners which took about 20 minutes or so to come out, they were placed in front of us by a nicer waitress who did interact with us. Told our original waitress know that my drink was not made right, she said she would replace it and I said I would prefer something else instead. When it came time for dessert, she threw the menu on the table which was placed around a large stick that jabbed me in the ribs when she threw it on the table. The salad bar had hot plates in the cooler, which were just cleaned, and the cooler was dirty The salad bar was picked through and there was not a great assortment of items for the salad bar. One of the chairs in our table had to be replaced because the leg was broken Overall, the cleanliness has deteriorated over the years and it needs a good head to toe cleaning The entrance of the restaurant is dirty the plants wall very pretty need to be trimmed and the sidewalk scrubbed. read more

The log jam restaurant is such a cute place that is very fitting of the vibe of Lake George and the Adirondacks. We came here for the fall and the restaurant was decorated to fit the season with leaves and pumpkins. It has a cozy feeling but it is a huge space. After ordering your meal, make your way to the salad bar with a variety of salad and toppings Service was excellent and our waiter was very accommodating despite how busy the place was. I actually forgot to order a clam chowder soup but I was able to mention it to the waiter and he brought me one immediately. The steak was delicious but the other menu items looks good. Keep in mind that the menu changes based on the season. I would love to come back here in a different season to experience the other menu items. A good tip is to call to make a reservation in advance as the restaurant was quite busy when we went. read more

We always stop by the Log Jam when we go to the Lake George Outlets. We love the rustic look of the place and the smell of the wood burning fireplace fits right in. They have best salad bar with all of the fixins. Everything is fresh and the breads are so delicious. My turkey club was very good and my husband had the beef barley soup with his salad bar. The soup a nice thick soup with plenty of beef and vegetables in it. Our server was Cohen who was excellent, he answered all our questions. This is a Venerable Adirondack Restaurant with consistent food and highly trained wait staff! That's a very popular place so during high time in the seasons for summer and skiing, be sure to get reservations. Everyone enjoys a salad bar which comes with every entrée and appetizer. Check out some of the unique appetizers such as bubbly shrimp served in an escargot dish. Soups were always very good although they didn't have a burger on the menu. You can order it. That's quite filling. They do have two sizes for the scallops. I believe the small size had eight they were done perfectly. Many people are satisfied with soup and salad. They have a small selection of draft beers, including their own lager. They have small variety wines as well and specialty cocktails. Although entrées are a little pricey, the service and the ambience and the food quality are totally worth it on trees are served on old time pewter dishes. Just left the bar. Went in for lunch with my husband. We went to the salad bar came back to our seat and there was a couple at the bar with a dog. Not a service dog . Just a random dog at the bar. This is the second time we went in and there was an animal At the bar. The time before there was a rabbit. Yes you read it right. A rabbit. All the employees acted as if it was normal. If you want to run a zoo thats fine. People should be told that random animals sit at the bar and the employees care more about the animals than the patrons. Its crazy.A rabbit? This is our second visit, I'm not sure if management/owner has changed but this was not as 'good' as last time. We had ordered prime rib and came out with about 6oz of meat on a bone. To their credit, the waitress called 'bullsh!t' and brought out a sirloin steak to compensate. The other steaks were half the weight as marked on the menu and grossly undercooked. The bug that sank to the bottom of the water glass, helped me decide to stick to the alcohol. The trip to the bathroom gave a glimpse of the kitchen, which was not a surprise. June 2026 We read some good reviews about this restaurant and gave it a try while we visiting the Lake George area. The building is in a outlet shopping area. The restaurant was dirty, bathroom, sticky floors and tables. Very dark lighting though out The staff tired 3 times to get our order correct, they were polite but failed. The steaks are low grade at a $42 price point. The staff was very rushed and overwhelmed. The menu has too many Items like Diner food. I have eaten at the Log Jam several times over the past 20 years. I am sorry to say this last time was pretty bad! My husband ordered the prime rib which was tough and flavorless.I ordered the duck which I could barely cute even with a steak knife. Flavor was iffy and texture rubbery. My favorite restaurant near Lake George. Worth it just for the epic salad bar alone. We went the evening before Mother's Day and it was very busy but the service was still excellent. I enjoyed a mocktail with beet juice and ginger beer. I got the citrus halibut for my entree along with the aforementioned salad bar (the breads and cottage cheese are especially good). Left room for dessert and had a hot fudge sundae which was huge and made with love. The decor is what you'd expect from a place called the Logjam. Looks like the inside of a log cabin. Lake George isn't exactly a culinary experience, the restaurants seem to squeeze by on mediocrity, but The Log Jam is consistently excellent food. The service is always really attentive and accommodating and the restaurant in itself is very nice (albeit very dark) cabin. We went with a party of 9 on a Friday night and they were able to accommodate us pretty fast. I advise to call ahead if possible. Our server was John, very attentive. He explained the menu to us very throughly. We never had an empty plate or glass on the table. Refilled our drinks right away. Our order was filled fairly quickly. While the food is being prepared they have a great salad bar to start with. You name it they had it. They had fresh bread which was ok but would have been better warmed up. I had the chicken velouté which is All natural boneless breast of chicken, seasoned & pan seared, topped with a sour cream & shredded potato crust, over a caramelized onion velouté. The chicken could have used more seasonings but was good. My wife had the stuffed shrimp which is Wild caught jumbo shrimp filled with crabmeat stuffing, baked in white wine and lemon butter.
