Duck entree with mashed potato of the day and a couple lovely Brussels sprouts as garnish.

I struggled deciding whether or not to bump up to 5 stars here. In my opinion the Lake George dining scene is woefully underwhelming outside of Barnsider and Log Jam (and obviously Martha's). That said, my latest meal here was definitely good, but not exceptional. I came with a large party and the service was great throughout our meal. I ordered the duck any my wife the petite filet. Prices were reasonable for this type restaurant. The filet definitely came back in excess of the advertised 8 ounces, which was a pleasent surprise. It was a great piece of meat and was cooked precisely, but lacked a bit in the seasoning department. The duck was good - and also plentiful - but a bit too fatty for my taste and the sauce was a touch too sweet. Salad bar was amazing as always with a very fresh and diverse spread to choose from.

We stopped here for lunch on our way home from Lake Placid. I loved the Adirondack decor and down home country feel. We sat at the bar, and our bartender was phenomenal! I have some unique food allergies and they were able to accommodate my dietary needs. Their salad bar is included in every meal and it had a wonderful selection. I had the bacon jam burger which was very tasty. If you are in the Lake George area, I highly recommend you check them out!

It has been literally AGES since I last visited the Log Jam. I used to go fairly frequently when I first moved up here. I guess Covid deterred me the last few years.... knowing that there is still a salad bar available. While I'm not a huge salad bar fan, these folks actually know how to do it the right way. It doesn't skeeeve me the way most salad bars do. The quality of the food is also excellent! We visited with friends from out of town and had an absolutely lovely, delicious meal. Cocktails included! I was quite surprised at how good the lobster roll was and would absolutely order it again. Reviews from my meal mates were also glowingly positive. Service was impeccable. Pretty sure the next time they visit we will be back at the Log Jam.

Love our visits to Lake George. It's the most beautiful lake I've ever seen (I have a lot more to see but for now it is). One of our most favorite places to eat is The Log Jam Restaurant. From hand held sandwiches, entrees, apps and the best salad bar around. If you're in town - stop by and follow the bear tracks on the floor to your table. #thelogjam

We had an amazing memorable experience!! Rustic ambiance, great food and not overpriced!! They seated us in this part of the restaurant where there were all beautiful plants around the whole room. There were many rooms each had a different vibe. Our waiter was great! I ordered what he recommended and so glad I did!! It was delicious!! They have a wonderful salad bar included when you order an entree. Then for dessert they came out with a brownie sundae for our anniversary with candles . We had to make a wish for each other. That was such a nice touch and will always remember that! We will recommend it to everyone!!

Did research on places to dive in the area and felt The Log Jam restaurant would be nice. Reviews were good and the pictures mouth watering. I had my sights set on the price rib but was feeling little full when we went so I had a lighter dinner of scallops. Parking lot was pretty full but it's large so we found parking. Our party of three was seated right away. Seems the atmosphere is very friendly and several regulars were around. Servers seemed to have been there many years as well. Which had its ups and downs. Down part was they were overly friendly with the regulars that it took awhile for us to get waited on. Our server bright out drinks quickly but got my raspberry trees mixed up with unsweetened. Corrected it quickly so that was a plus. Salad bar was very nice. Not sure about any problems other Yelpers noted but we had a good experience. Salad we made was great. Our entrees came and the food was delicious. One of the few meals that all of us finished completely. We did however wait around for awhile for refills of drinks and to get the check. Our server was busy talking to others for so long that another server came over and cleared our table and thankfully brought the bill. Maybe he knew our server had a daily habit of over talking to others and neglecting the other customers. Our dining experience was great, food was great, just the end was a little lacking. Has it been a little stocker we may have looked at getting dessert. We opted to leaving and stopping at a grocery store to pick up some dessert to bring back to the hotel.

The food is good. Service and ambiance also great. Not sure why this place isn't rated higher. Our waitress, Caden H was very good and patient throughout the evening. The staff are all pretty friendly. The salad and bread bar that comes with the entrees is great. We enjoyed the meal a lot. Everything was delicious.

Famous salad bar!! Don't fill up too much!! Bread, a variety green salads and dressings. Beets, prep salads, olives, veggies , nuts

This is a Venerable Adirondack Restaurant with consistent food and highly trained wait staff! That's a very popular place so during high time in the seasons for summer and skiing, be sure to get reservations. Everyone enjoys a salad bar which comes with every entrée and appetizer. Check out some of the unique appetizers such as bubbly shrimp served in an escargot dish. Soups were always very good although they didn't have a burger on the menu. You can order it. That's quite filling. They do have two sizes for the scallops. I believe the small size had eight they were done perfectly. Many people are satisfied with soup and salad. They have a small selection of draft beers, including their own lager. They have small variety wines as well and specialty cocktails. Although entrées are a little pricey, the service and the ambience and the food quality are totally worth it on trees are served on old time pewter dishes. I've always enjoyed meals here and we're return when I'm in the area.

The salad bar saves this restaurant. I have been several times in the last 11 years, the food quality has been declining each time while the prices shoot up. By 5 pm on Fridays, there is a line out of the door, but I honestly don't know why. Avoid the duck with its overly sweet sauce and just stick to the salad bar. Bonus points for bountiful bread products at the salad bar!

Had the 8 oz filet mignon. This was one of the most tender pieces of filet I've ever had! Came with fries nice and crisp, and two charred Brussel sprouts that were fantastic. All entrees include a side and HUGE salad bar! This is our go to place up at Lake George.

We always stop by the Log Jam when we go to the Lake George Outlets. We love the rustic look of the place and the smell of the wood burning fireplace fits right in. They have best salad bar with all of the fixins. Everything is fresh and the breads are so delicious. My turkey club was very good and my husband had the beef barley soup with his salad bar. The soup a nice thick soup with plenty of beef and vegetables in it. Our server was Cohen who was excellent, he answered all our questions. We later found out that it was only his 2nd day working there. He did a great job. We will be back.

Are they now allowing you to eat inside? Do they still have the salad bar?

Yes inside you can eat and they still do salad bar , you have to tell them what you want and they make it for you . Also they make you a huge platter for your table. It's awesome food.

    Do they take reservations?

Yes. We called earlier today for reservations for a party of 17. They were very helpful on the phone.

We've been for both lunch and dinner here and haven't been disappointed by our overall meals, but usually there's one or two things that just didn't go right. Today, we stopped in for lunch. I ordered a Caesar salad, my Nana got the crab cakes, and my Poppi order the specialty wrap, a salmon one that promptly fell apart out the bottom when he picked up the first half of the wrap. He ended up eating it with a fork and knife. My salad was well dressed and the croutons were tasty, a nice seasoned brown bread. My Nana's crab cakes were good, but she didn't care for the mixed greens they were served on. For the three of us, we paid just $40 for lunch and that included nearly an $8 tip. Our server was great, but we were literally her only table; no one else was in there when we stopped in for lunch around 11:15ish today, so it's hard to have bad service when it's just you and the waitress in the dining room. Also it can get busy here, especially for dinner or after the first round of daytime golfers finish up. So be prepared to wait if you come during those times.

Can I give 10 stars?…read more If we lived in the area, we would be here monthly if not more often. Incredible food (served in full or half portions), craft cocktails (I had a tomato infused vodka martini), and a welcoming and friendly staff. When we arrived, the restaurant was just opening but not quite ready for guests, so one of the servers came out and chatted with us for a while. How many other places do this? The food was so good and creative and plated in a tempting way. It almost felt a shame to eat it. Accolades and kudos to the BEST restaurant in LG.

They start you off with some warm fresh bread and butter that you have to be careful to not fill up on. We shared the truffle fries (if you like thousand island dressing you might like the sauce but it does have a kick to it), sushi roll, and a few large beet salads for the table. Salads were good and plentiful and I liked the dressing. I appreciate that Bistro Le Roux offers smaller and larger portions options for each of their mains. As this is not the norm at most American restaurants, it was a a little unclear to us whether that meant they are sharing plates or not but because most other restaurants give you too much food, ordering a small seems like a reasonable strategy unless you are either A) very hungry or B) sharing with a few members of your party. It's not cheap but this could be a good way to try different dishes. I tried the lobster risotto which was super creamy and came with a reasonable (but not overly generous ) amount of fresh lobster. The corn risotto was very good although it seemed like they had this same thing for a number of their menu items. My wife had the avocado crab salad dish, which was ok (my daughter commented that it was needlessly "fancy"), but the crab on its own would have been better. She thought her risotto was a little undercooked. We also got the corn chowder which was ok but lacked any real flavor and didn't feel worth the stomach space. The tomato bisque, a long-time staple of their menu, was much better and we really enjoyed it. For dessert we had the lava cake which was very rich and good. My son had a plain vanilla scoop, which came with his kid's meal (steak and fries).
