If you're looking to feed a large group of people in Lake George, and you want to sit by the water, The Lagoon is an eminently solid choice. The menu is massive, and so you should easily be able to find something for everybody...unless that person is looking for something super healthy. The Lagoon has burgers, and pizza, and lobster boats, and fish and chips, and four kinds of mac and cheese, and the appetizer list consists of all the things, fried: brussels sprouts, mozzarella wedges, wings, and more. We ordered all three of those fried things I mentioned to start, buffalo mac and cheese, a pizza, fish and chips, a cheesesteak, chicken fingers and a Greek salad. Our server was super bubbly and brought us all the sauces and drinks and everything else we asked for. It isn't going to blow you away with their culinary innovation, but The Lagoon hits a certain spot, and can seat your whole party with a view. I'd do it again. read more

I was here on a Tuesday afternoon and generally felt unwanted. The staff would congregate in a corner inside and someone would only venture out to the patio if there was food to deliver to a table, but you would have difficulty getting their attention even as they were walking back. Ordered was the poutine, a turkey club, and the hot buttered lobster roll. I came here for the poutine, a previous review had been very complimentary. I was underwhelmed, the gravy was thin, the cheese and tenderloin scarce. I will give the fries credit, crispy and seasoned, they were a solid base. Being so close to Canada, I'd expect better. The club was loaded up with dry turkey and not enough mayonnaise to help balance that out, but again the tots were crispy and seasoned so they were a gem, possibly the best thing here (and that's not a compliment because they're clearly a prepackaged product). The lobster in the lobster roll was chewy and dry, the roll was crispy but it was as though they had made garlic bread with a hot dog bun, then shoved some sad lobster bits in it. The coleslaw was drenched in dressing, but bland enough that I ate it for some texture and filling after being left wholly unsatisfied by my roll. All in all, I get the impression this restaurant relies solely on the lake, and their proximity to giving you a view while you eat, almost entirely to distract from a subpar performance in every other aspect of restauranting. read more

Good food, nice staff, and a beautiful setting! Would highly recommend this place. Right on the water and in the heart of downtown Lake George. read more

Another pleasant meal and cocktail at The Lagoon. We chose to sit at the bar, the patio was open and quite busy with live music playing on a late Sunday evening. Other establishments nearby were no longer serving food. Friendly and informative service at the bar. I splurged a little and ordered lobster with tenderloin medallions sliders! They were $40 with chips, upgrade to fries and additional $5 approximately. Delicious and worth every penny! Beautiful view of Lake George on their outdoor deck. One of my favorite meals this visit. read more

I wanted to love this place. I thought I was going to! The food smelled so good. Sadly, and perhaps directly related, we got terrible service. I mean, my in-laws did not even want to tip the server anything. She sauntered around, chit chatted with the bar staff, neglecting all respect for paying customers and I wondered if anyone got their food. I let that slide to a degree. Everyone has bad days. Then the beer finally came. My mother in law did not enjoy hers and said it tasted funny. Sour. We all happened to agree and asked the waitress to bring another swallow so she could try it. She did and found that the beer was indeed the wrong beer, but she just decided to keep it since the waitress was taking so long. Food was delivered, finally, and I had the bbq pulled pork nachos. Mind you a 20.00 plate of nachos should have been crisp, appetizing and loaded with good bbq. Mine were cold, the bbq had apparently been sitting in the window for the eternity the waitress took to bring it. It was dry. It had been a long day so I went with it, but as I was eating it, I bit down on bone. Apparently the BBq had some bone in it. I spit it out and was careful with the next few bites and then got a sharp fragment of bone that cut the inside of my mouth. At that point I called the waitress over and I showed her the fragment of bone. I wasn't asking for anything, i just wanted to make her aware so that others didn't have the same experience. She did not handle it well. In fact, that's when my in-laws said, "she's getting zip in tip. She apparently doesn't want to be here". I hope she actually shared with the cook. At any rate, the views were lovely. The breeze was lovely. The smell of the food was lovely. The service and taste/quality of the food was sorely missing all the marks. read more

I had such a great time here. We hot a nice view and what i loved is that they allowed the dog to come with us. The staff were super friendly and even gave us some water for the dog. The Lagoon has great pub food. The wings were excellent, the beer selection was vast, and the pizza was top notch. All of the staff were extremely friendly and courteous. For a casual no frills dinner in Lake George Village with an amazing view, The Lagoon is your place. And the Goonies references are a lot of fun. read more

You can tell a chef isn't cooking, but everything was above average. French onion soup was surprisingly good, steaming hot with some cheese. Pizza was flavorful. Filet medallions weren't out of this world. Good tots and pretzel bites. Would go here again. read more

The views here are phenomenal, obviously. We sat inside but were still able to see the lake. The service was delightful! It was pretty empty & quiet & our waitress was able to perfectly capture that sweet spot of not coming over too often but making sure we were taken care of & not in need of anything. The menu options are great for everyone. There are plenty. The wings were. so. good. Hearty, meaty, great flavor, even the naked version we ordered. I was between 4 & 5 stars for this place but my kiddos are adamant about 5 stars!! My only critique would be the pizza is a little doughy & the sauce is alright, but it's not bad. The kids loved it & that's a win. read more

Came here for dinner while spending a night in Lake George. Didn't realize we had been here before a few years back. They only had seating left at the bar so we opted for that. Their beer selection is pretty decent. The pizza was nothing specials but the sliders were pretty good. Besides location the best thing about this place is the view especially if you're able to sit outside. read more

We came here because we wanted to sit on the water, and with a 4.3-star Google rating, we figured the food had to be at least decent. I genuinely have no idea how it has that rating. The view is beautiful, and our server was friendly, but unfortunately that's where the positives end. The $36 lobster fries were especially disappointing. The menu makes them sound like they're tossed in buttery flavor, but they were just plain fries with a tiny piece of lobster sitting on top. Definitely not worth the price. Then there was the "award-winning" Lagoon mac and cheese. If this is award-winning, I'd love to know who the judges were. It was overcooked macaroni floating in what tasted like warm whole milk soup and virtually no flavor. It was basically a stomachache in a bowl. The buffalo chicken wrap was more like a snack wrap than an actual meal. If you're hungry, this won't do it. We also noticed another table order pizza. After one slice, it just sat there, and judging by the reheated appearance, we can only assume it wasn't much better. We expected to be paying for the waterfront atmosphere, but we didn't expect the food to be comically bad. Come for the view if you must but eat somewhere else. read more

We didn't know where to eat and having the dog made that really hard. This place was very dog friendly and the waitress even hugged our dog! It was great. The pizza was perfectly thin and flavor spot on. The turkey sandwich had real turkey which was great. The view we had was top tier for me. I could watch the boats come in and see the mountains. read more

Good food with a great view! Went here with my family, so we tried a couple of different dishes from fish and chips, the lobster dishes and the steak sliders and all were good. Our server was very accommodating and friendly, the food came out quickly even though it was a busy day. Does NOT give tourist trap vibes at all, really recommend giving this spot a try. read more

What's better than to spend a lazy afternoon by the lake with good food, music and service?! Plus it's so dog friendly. Parking isn't easy on the main stretch but you can find plenty parking one street away. The restaurant isn't easy to find, but know that it's easier to find if you walk along the water. I love the staff here, they were friendly, and always making sure if we were doing ok. The food was good and portions were huge. He prepared to take home some. read more

We visited The Lagoon off season (in October) when the choices were limited, splitting a Greek salad and a veggie lovers pizza. The Greek salad was good, fresh, and huge. The pizza was somewhat boring - both the crust and toppings were short on flavor. The service was A+, and the view of the lake made the boring pizza worthwhile. read more

Went on a Wednesday night at about 7pm, this is during the end of October so the season is mostly over and few places are still open. We were sat immediately and there were heaters throughout the room that kept it warm even though it's currently in the 50s and right on the water. Everyone ordered the special steak au poivre, it was absolutely amazing. The steak was cooked perfectly to our preference, the sauce tasted wonderful, I dipped my potatoes in it. The green beans were just okay, they were not fresh, but everything else was so good it didn't matter. I would 110% recommend ordering the steak au poivre. The server was very nice as well. read more

waited 15 minutes and no one came for our order. Go to Monte Cristo across the street. Nowaiting.

The Lagoon had the honor of being the first place I ate once arriving to Lake George. The views of the lake were beautiful and peaceful We ordered their Tenderloin Tip Poutines that hit the spot - especially the gravy. We also got pizza that was okay (blame the rest of the food for filling us up) and their award winning Chipotle Bacon wings. Were they good? Yes. Award winning? Not in my opinion. read more

We had a very disappointing experience here. The host (male with a beard) told us there would be an hour wait, so we gave our phone number and expected a confirmation text. However, we never received any text updates; no confirmation and no notification when our table was ready. Out of frustration, we went to the restaurant next door and were seated at with no issue. We stayed there for two hours, and still never got a single message from this place. It felt like we were being passed over intentionally, and unfortunately, we could not shake the sense that discrimination may have been a factor. Regardless, the lack of communication and professionalism was unacceptable. We will not be returning. read more

Unfortunately we trusted the recommendation of the boat rental place, which we later came to find out was also owned by The Lagoon. I was celebrating my birthday with family and was greatly disappointed with the experience. The waitress was rude and disrespectful to my mother. Apparently her service matched her lips: fake. Right up until the end of our time there she was making comments - the last one basically flaunting the hidden gratuity fee, in case we were thinking of giving her anything less than a real tip for her terrible attitude. I felt badly that my family used their hard-earned money for a birthday dinner that was overpriced and from staff who acted like they were doing us a favor. read more

I hate to give such a bad review, but honestly... go anywhere else. we were sat and every table sat around us was served their drinks and apps before anyone even came to bring water. I had to get up and ask if we had a server assigned. My husbands beer was skunked, the kids milk was warm, the food was sub par for bar food (34$ for lobster fries and the lobster was dried out and tasteless... I should've know better but the menu description got me), and the service was the worst I've ever experienced. I really wanted to like this place: on the water, great looking menu, live band... don't do it and I wish I hadn't. The only saving grace for getting a 1 star was that the server at the hostess stand who I asked if we were assigned anyone to help us came over and took our drink orders herself and comped my drink. So thank you to her... but other than that. No part of this meal / venue was worth it. Bummer. read more

We had a negative experience with the staff. Our waitress was passive aggressive. Being the tip was included in the bill there was no incentive to provide good service. It was brought to management 's attention however, nothing was done to correct the situation. The mixed drinks lacked any alcohol and were poorly made. The drinks and the food were expensive for average Lobster Rolls. There is a 3% credit card charge as well. read more

Do NOT order from here. The absolute worst service when trying to order for pick up. Called to place an order. After seconds, we immediately called the place back to cancel an item in the order and was LITERALLY told No bc they started making the order within seconds I guess. Then the guy hung up on us. Insanely rude. Overcharged prices as well but come here if you would like to get treated with disrespect. read more

Walked by and thought we've never been here. Should have kept walking. Prices were a bit high, but it's a tourist town. Mozzarella sticks (4) were 12$ and took forever to show up. They were cool( temperature) and despite the wait to get them the waitress was taking the plate away while we were still eating them. Ordered a cheese burger and fries, fries were very salty but the burger was good. Meat lovers pizza was good as well, but doughy for brick oven. Tough to get refills on drinks. They have a beautiful view of the lake and had a musician who was pretty good. But overall I wouldn't trouble myself by coming here again. read more

I am not one to usually leave a bad review but here goes. We stood in line for 20 minutes with my elderly family members waiting to get to the hostess station only to be told after seeing everyone group in front of us be seated that the didn't have enough help and the wait for a table would be 1.5 hrs. I am standing there looking at many empty tables but they can't seat us. They could have told the whole line of people this before making my elderly uncle with a cane wait then not be seated. Visited Lake George on our annual fall motorcycle trip through the Northeast and spent a few days here. We were looking for a place to grab a drink before dinner and found this place and stopped in because it has a view. Had a sketchy vibe to it to begin with.
