Solid lakeside restaurant and bar in Lake George. Has dinner and drinks here with a few business colleagues and was very impressed. I love a good waterfront view and the massive multi level porch didn't disappoint. They also offer plenty of interior space decorating in a nautical theme which gives you a feeling you're on vacation, as most probably were. All three of us stared with their signature blue piña coladas and calamari. Drinks were amazing, calamari was tasty. Long story short: good ambiance, not great food, but very kind staff. If you're in Lake George and looking for a beautiful setting to have dinner, the Lighthouse Grill might be your best option! However, in my group's experience, it really seemed like when the restaurant was being put together, more care was put into the design and environmental feel than the menu. Everything we had (mac and cheese, fried pickles, caesar salad, and berry salad) was lacking much flavor and just not worth the high price point. All in all, this is a nice restaurant and maybe something was just off on the day we dined there, but this is not a spot I would recommend to others who might visit Lake George. read more

Stopped by here on our way to Montreal. The place was packed, we were told it was about an hour's wait as they were also short staffed. I ended putting my name down anyway, and was given a live link to see where I was in the queue. Thankfully it ended up moving really quickly and we were called back within 30 minutes. We asked to sit outside and enjoyed the views of the lake. Ordered a whole bunch of food which we thoroughly enjoyed. The stand out was the sweet chilli chicken wings. Honestly, I think this place is overrated. The restaurant is beautiful inside and the location on the water is fantastic, but our experience didn't live up to the hype. When we arrived, we asked if we could sit closer to the water. We were seated outside, but in the middle of the patio despite several open tables along the railing. I asked the host if we could move, and she explained those tables were in different server sections, which I understood. However, just a few minutes later, she seated two other parties at the exact tables I had asked about, which was frustrating. The outdoor seating itself also leaves a lot to be desired. The tables are very small for four people, especially if you're ordering appetizers and entrees to share. The service was just okay. As soon as we finished our appetizers, our entrees arrived immediately, making the meal feel rushed. As for the food, it was disappointing. The mac and cheese lacked flavor and tasted like butter with very little cheese. The short rib tasted as though it had been reheated, and the seafood pasta tasted like it was made with frozen seafood. Overall, the food was average at best and reminded me more of an Olive Garden-style meal than the upscale waterfront dining experience I was expecting. The following night we ate at La Bella Vita at The Sagamore, and the difference was remarkable. The food was significantly better, the atmosphere was more enjoyable, and our bill was actually lower despite ordering a similar amount of food and drinks. I wouldn't necessarily say Lighthouse Grill is bad, but based on our experience, I don't think it lives up to its reputation or price point. The food & drinks were amazing, as well as the views of the lake. Our server Jason was very friendly and attentive. I ordered a hibiscus margarita this was really refreshing. The appetizer was Lobster Louis, the mango salsa was delicious. For my lunch I ordered Grilled Lime Shrimp Tacos, it actually had several pieces of shrimp in each of the tacos. This place is on the swankier end of restaurants. Inside it is a very cool décor, with some fun swings. We sat outside and had a great view of the lake. They have a nice menu with a few different items. I went with the steak sandwich, and it was really good. Our server was very attentive and our food came out fairly quickly. Yum! This restaurant is a perfect inbetween for fancy and casual and has a great spot on the water. The decor is so pretty and clean and the swinging chairs and tv were good for kids. I also loved the outdoor patio for a warmer day. Our server was really nice although the hostess seemed a little confused with getting us a table but we were seated promptly. The food was great! We really enjoyed everything and got the steak sandwich, clam chowder, shrimp tacos, and flatbread and tuna bites to share. Everything was well done and we left full and happy. $32 for the oyster roll and it was on an untoasted grocery store roll with 5 tiny pieces of oyster, and $22 for the tiniest cheesesteak which was also untoasted with barely anything on it. Just not worth it imo read more

Unfortunately we were unable to try The Lighthouse Grill's food today. We made a reservation for 13, and arrived 10 minutes early. The hostess we spoke with was very nice, but told us no reservation existed. We brought up our reservation confirmation email and text to show them; four hostesses ended up coming to look, and claimed we hadn't paid a deposit ($10 per person) - we then showed the credit card statement with $130 charge. We then waited ~25 minutes for a table to be pushed together. We sat and found that we had a pre-fixed menu set - something that is, yes, on the website, but was not communicated when the reservation was made over the phone (we would not have made a reservation for our large party with a pre fixed menu). Our waiter clearly was used to this being a problem for large parties and immediately went to get his manager after one confused look. Damien, the general manager, came to see us and immediately escalated the situation with an aggressive tone and accusing us of lying about not being aware. While he defended his staff that they would have told us, we were not aware. We asked to split the table and stagger meal times 20 minutes apart - Damien said no. We decided to leave and a family member made a comment about needing to bite his tongue (he had not been a part of the conversation at this point) and Damien said verbatim "I'm a big boy, I can handle it" which obviously escalated the situation. He then proceeded to "belly bump" this family member, partially shove another, and then got into a minor's face. He claimed to be the owner (another staff member told us he was the general manager) and told multiple people they would be spending the night in jail. Multiple times my family members who were involved attempted to back up away from him and he continued to move forward into their space. We asked for a refund of our deposit. I'm sure the food is really good and I was excited to eat there, but considering how the general manager deals with conflict, maybe try somewhere else. We've been almost everywhere else in Lake George Village and have never had this experience in the 20 summers we have spent here before. read more

Went for our anniversary dinner, just a walk-in not expecting anything over the top. 5:40pm on a Sunday in June on lake George. So not very slow but we've seen busier days as we're local. We sit down view is gorgeous seems like it has a lively atmosphere. The issues from there didn't seem to stop. Our server came over and asked if we would like water. We said yes and put in a regular drink order. The server didn't bring our waters, no big deal it happens. Then we decide to put in an app for steamed clams unforeseen they are out, ok no big deal it happens, we tried to order fried pickles, they're out. We ended up with calamari which was great as the app menu was pretty limited maybe 8 options total. Oh and not that we were ease dropping the next table was told the restaurant was out of calamari shortly after we got ours (good thing we got to order before that was out). We are enjoying the app when the server comes back for dinner order my fiancé wants to order penne alla vodka... THEY'RE OUT. At this point I was starting to get frustrated. We take a minute look over the menu again and order I got the lighthouse steak sandwich 22$ and fiancé got the 3 shrimp tacos 22$. Steak sandwich was gross in my opinion the meat tasted like it was cooked/marinated in a sloppy Joe sauce, peppers weren't cooked all the way through bread wasn't toasted, fries were cold, overall just not a good dish. I ended up taking it "to go" but the only place it was going was in the garbage when we got home. Tacos were okay nothing too special but good enough to eat. There is also a parking lot behind the restaurant which I believe is owned by the restaurant, they charge for parking. I have never been to a restaurant that charges guests to park and then does not validate your parking. It wasn't super expensive as we were only there 1:15minutes but $7 idk just seems like a odd thing to charge guests who are paying to eat at your place of business to park in your parking lot.. I recently went there and ordered the Seafood Scampi which is shrimp, lobster, and clams over linguine with a white wine sauce. What I got was a bowl of linguine with the sauce, 3 medium sized shrimp, 3 steamed clams, and some type of meat that was stringy, chewy, and spread lightly throughout the linguine (this was probably the lobster, but it didn't look or taste like lobster, what little of it there was). At a cost of $38, for what I got, which wasn't a lot, this dish is very over priced. One could do better eating elsewhere. read more

Ambiance of the restaurant feels "higher-end" than other spots in town. Prices reflect that they believe the same. We started with calamari as an appetizer, as that is usually a go-to for us. Sadly, it was mundane. Flavor lacked to the breading. It was also overdone, with relatively rubbery texture to the squid. My cocktail was weak and watered down. We both ordered the lobster tail and rice for dinner. My lobster tail was...fine. Lobster was tough, indicating it was overdone. It was nicely-flavored. The rice was rice. It was seasoned well and had good flavor. We skipped on dessert, so I can't speak to that, as we were underwhelmed. Not bad, not great, just okay. I wouldn't return here. read more

My family and I went out to dinner for the last night of our vacation and we had this very judgmental waiter that was questioning my special needs daughter getting a child's meal, like I'm sorry do you wanna ID a 13 year-old?Then he was claiming the internet was down on the tablet so he couldn't put in our order but the next table over this guy paid with card on that same tablet not even two seconds after claiming he couldn't put in our order. I'm guessing he asked his manager if it was OK for my daughter to have that meal because when he came back the internet magically started working, and he said "I guess it's OK....". I'm trying to enjoy my meal and have conversation with my daughters and he's just standing in the corner looking at me. My daughters and I were very uncomfortable when he did that. I came to this restaurant on a first time visit to Lake George from NYC & i must say Ive had some Mac & Cheese from a lot of spots here in the city but this hs got to be The best Mac & Cheese ever ! Their pork chops are a solid 10 out of 10 ! I must've had like 15 "Hibiscus Lychee Margaritas" that drink was like no other margarita ! I was very impressed so much I kept going to this place and even Jeremy noticed and welcomed me back! He's a dope bartender / Waiter. He allowed me to stay and watch the fireworks from their balcony view and his character really made me want to come back to this place. No, just no. We were starving after driving 4 hours to Lake George for vacation. We wanted to eat by the lake, so we popped into the Lighthouse Grill. We almost left before we ever ordered as it took 25 minutes for a waitress to even come say hello to us. We ordered a cheeseburger, and a hummus wrap. The portions were large, but the food was luke warm, and flavorless. The worst French fries I've ever had. They were battered, cold, and mushy. While it may be a nice view of the lake, it left something to be desired. Also, did not appreciate how pushy the waitress was trying to get us to take one of their boat's around the lake. read more

This restaurant is gorgeous and perfectly located. We came here for the ability to sit outside and overlook the deck. The service was good. Bloody Mary's were good. The tacos were awful. Multiple people in my party ordered them. The meat had to have been pre cooked. The chicken was cut into tiny 1/4 inch cubes. There is no way it was cooked to order. It didn't look or taste fresh at all. They came out and were cold. Like the meat had been pulled from the fridge and placed directly into our taco, cold. I rarely complain but I did this time. First off my wife seasonal salad was amazing. I on the other hand had the fried chicken sandwich which was sooooo fried it was barely even chicken anymore. There was a sauce that came with it. It was the hottest sauce that I've ever had in my life, our waiter didn't even tell me?? He was training but the person with him training him didn't mention the fact that the sauce was very very hot. I was looking forward to a nice Memorial Day lunch date with a view as this is one of the restaurants "highlights". I went in and requested a table on the top deck with some shade and was denied by the hostess, because "the table was not on the server rotation" and I asked what's more important the customer or the server rotation and she replied "the server's rotation", at that point I asked for the manager and surprise, surprise...she was no help either she also denied me the table because "it would throw off the rotation" and offered me a table in the sun away from the shade and not the one I requested and wouldn't budge, so at that point I asked her, you would rather inconvenient the CUSTOMER which is trying to spend MONEY, than her rotation and she said yes it would be an inconvenience. At that point I decided to leave and not waste my time anymore and would not let these lazy people ruin my day. Instead I went to the "Lookout Bar Grill" where the restaurant is not as "fancy" but they did provide a better service, got the table I requested and the food was very good.
