Me and my parents were in town for the day and trying to find a quick bite for lunch. We also had our dog with us so we needed somewhere that had outdoor seating and wasn't packed. This place looked like a head outdoor seating, but it was closed that time. But thankfully, the waitress offered to put us back in a corner so we could still have our dog with us. Let me start off with this definitely a place you're eating at for a quick fix and wanting to drink. With that being said, the food was on par for a bar. We got the grilled chicken sandwich and a Rueben. They were both good for eating dinner at 9pm. Our waitress was very nice and checked on us as needed and the food was brought out fast. Duffy's has a few different floors and on Thursdays they have karaoke on one floor, we went to the top floor and there was a live singer. He was very good and we enjoyed our time there. FYI if you don't like loud music when eating dinner definitely sit downstairs for dinner and come up top for drinks after. There's a bar where you can just get drinks. On arrival to Lake George for a family vacation we decided to go to Duffy's for a late lunch. Folks have recommended it for the bar scene, but not the food, and they were right. Aside from the fact that three of things we ordered were not available, the service was just okay. I will say that the wings were really good and my husband did like the fried seafood. However, our bill was around $250 for four adults and two children which was insane for what we received. This place is not worth the money. If you want a great view and excellent food & service for about the same price (drinks included), check out the Boathouse. What a difference! So while on an afternoon ride to the Outlets in Lake George we decided to stop for an early dinner. As we drove through the Village we spotted Duffy's and decided to try it out. The place was clean and nicely decorated inside. You can also eat upstairs overlooking the Lake or downstairs inside. We chose inside this time. My wife ordered a Taco Salad and I ordered the Open Turkey sandwich which included fries and Cranberry sauce. The food came out hot and tasty. Service was also very good. There were 4 of us and we ordered a round and she ignored us for 5 minutes, when we asked again, with our empty bottles in front of us she responded with" you have to be more specific" then Proceeded to berate us. Used to live this place as it felt like a local dive - now? Sky high prices for mediocre food. Went tonight. Bartender was meh - no complaints but not really into her job I guess... I know inflation is hitting everyone BUT - 8 wings for $16.00? GTFOH! $17.00 for a Reuben? GTFOH Get an overpriced burger and pay $3.00 more for fries! What a freaking rip off! Duffys is a pretty cool place but we will rarely go here during the "high" season. Food is pretty good, view over the lake from the downstairs bar is nice, bartender is awesome. But at times it suffers terribly with the "Let's Go Brandon" crowd. Certainly not a reflection on the establishment, but still, who wants to sit next to that? read more

Duffy's is at a beautiful location near Lake George. There was no available public parking nearby so I ended up paying for parking at a meter. I came on a Sunday evening for dinner, and my party was seated immediately upon arrival. It took a while for our order to be taken and for the food to come; however, it was pretty crowded in the restaurant. I ordered the fish and chips here! The fries were nice and crispy, but the fish was disappointing. It wasn't super crispy and the fish didn't taste super fresh. Overall, this is a great restaurant for a large party and I would definitely come again if I was with a large group of people. read more

I think I'm officially done with visiting Lake George on my way to northern Adirondack adventures. The lake itself is just gorgeous, but the downtown area is deceptively seedy, with a lot of cheap souvenir stores and arcades that are more reminiscent of Seaside Heights than a bougie fall foliage destination. Every restaurant I've stopped at has left a lot to be desired, and Duffy's was unfortunately no exception. I stopped by for a quick/light lunch this past Saturday, probably around 2ish just as the lunch crowds were starting to thin out. Full disclosure - my options were a bit more limited given that the peak tourist season is now over, so it wasn't unusual to walk by a restaurant with a sign on the door indicating they were closed until next May. After a few other choices didn't pan out (several places were shuttering up for the day), I decided to duck in here. On the positive side, I was into the atmosphere. It's definitely more of a local dive, which is certainly not a knock on it. Every bar to an extent is going for a convivial, welcoming atmosphere, and I think Duffy's accomplishes that - everyone was very pleasant, and I got some good vibes from the other customers, many of whom were clearly familiar with one another. There was a sign right at the entrance instructing patrons to seat themselves at a table or the bar, and to wait for someone to take their orders. I selected a booth about 15 feet from the bar. It probably took A LITTLE too long for the waiter to notice/arrive; I'd say I was sitting there for about five minutes. Nothing egregious, but there were definitely a few employees who noticed me in that span and didn't take initiative to either come to the table or notifying someone else to. Also a pro - the waiter was very nice. Any of the issues I encountered beyond the slightly sluggish initial service were not attributable to him. He told me sheepishly that it was his very first day, but I thought he got off to a decent start. Good rapport. Since I knew I was having a bigger meal later, I decided to just go for the boneless garlic parmesan wings app (about $15). I'm not a huge wings person, but these were honestly pretty bad. You can see from the picture that they're literally served in almost a puddle of some buttery, greasy concoction, and I couldn't tell if that was an intentional presentation or not. Nonetheless, I soaked up the grease with the napkins for each piece. Even with that preemptive step, there were a few wings that were so saturated with grease that they mildly exploded with additional grease pockets when bitten into. Not appetizing. The price point seemed fine to me, given the number of wings. They were smaller wings for sure, but it was a decent serving for my purposes, and even though this is a dive bar, it's right in the middle of a notable tourist trap. A place like this could probably get away with charging $20 if they wanted to. But the quality didn't come close, which is disappointing. Tons of people in here seemed pleased as punch - most of them looked to be drinking something boozy (I was in the midst of a mini-road trip, so I stuck with water). I don't think I'd risk food here again, but the staff was nice enough where I might order a cocktail or something if I were willing to set foot in Lake George again. read more

Prices have gone up everywhere but here the prices do not match the quantity anymore. The dill chicken sandwich is good. The Philly cheesesteak was lacking meat. The fries that came with it were bigger than the sandwich! The Caesar salad despite the dressing being very delicious, the amount of lettuce for $12.95 was comical. Come on. We really do love Duffy's but if you're going to raise the prices $3-4 per item, you need to deliver and sadly we were disappointed. The entertainment specifically John E was our reason for coming. If you arrive in town after 9 pm and are hungry, your likely only choice is Duffy. I was definitely hangry when I came into the bar due to it being a bar and kind of divey. However, I will say I was pleasantly surprised. Don't judge a book by it's cover - was my quote for the night. I ordered the fish and chips and it was very good. The waitress was so great, excellent customer service and great timing with food. Whoever the chef was in the kitchen didn't share any excellence in preparing our meal as it was the last ones of the night on a Sunday evening. Only downside was I ordered a margarita - was the disgusting. Lol. I don't like to use those words but it had no resemblance to a margarita or any derivative of one. Due to the location we stopped here. Walking up the stairs to the 2nd floor and into the establishment smelt very bad and musty due to the old dirty carpet. As a small establishment like this you would expect to see the drink prices on the drink menu and prices were nowhere to be found. Once I asked the server, she estimated the price and didn't even know a clear answer on the drinks. I asked for a recommendation for the bone-in or boneless wings and I was told the bone-in. The wings came out extremely dry even with a garlic sauce and disappointing. In addition to this, we were two people and they put a 20% tip on our bill. Also, at the same time the sign outside says happy hour week days 4 PM to 7 PM and when we asked, they said they do not do a happy hour. Drinks to start had the Adirondack Bear naked ale this was good nice taste , hubby had the Kona blonde good as well. This is dive bar meets pub. A good place in the off season to hang with locals and watch football. The wings are pretty good. The French onion soup is something I would avoid; it falls short and lacks any finesse. The Irish nachos were pretty damn good. The staff is friendly-ish. This is a place you really just want to drink at and watch football. Maybe play a game or two of pool. Otherwise, I'd go somewhere else to eat a full meal. read more

Stopped for a bite to eat. The waitress was very nice (Patricia) . The owner and his Dad/Uncle /Brother not sure which one he was due to the fact that BOTH were drunk at 1:58 pm. Came over to introduce themselves and all the one could say was owned for 47 years and been divorced 3 or 4 times and the fowl language that would come out of his mouth was not appropriate. It's pretty bad never been to a Duffy's always wanted to stop in and this is what you get. Maybe the gentleman can reframe from drinking and truly enjoy the customers that are especially coming from out of town . The prices are outrageous as well Will not be back .
