Staying at Trailside Condos at Magic Mtn, welllllll, aaaahhh, was too lazy to drive anywhere for dinner so walked to the Tavern at Base Lodge. Arrived at approximately 7:30 PM, looked like all the tables were occupied but found a seat at the bar. The live music was LOUD. The bar was hopping, bartender was right there - with 'what can I get ya?' - Malbec & a menu...no we don't have it...ok, I'll take the Pino noir & took a few minutes to peruse the menu. The vino arrived very quickly & I was ready to order. ordered New England Clam Chowdha & Chicken Pot Stickers. My chowder arrived at 7:57 according to the photo. Chowdha - ok, more potatoes then clams, flavor was ok and then I waited for the pot stickers...& waited...& waited......at some point another bartender approached and asked if I need a refill on the vino. I said no, but were are my pot stickers? I've been waiting for 45 minutes, are they driving to Chinatown, I said...sorry I'll go and check as she sailed into the kitchen sunset never to return. The original bartender came back asking about a refill, I just shrugged my shoulders and mouthed out POTSTICKERS?...OH, I'll go and check...well at least she returned and refilled my vino. Shortly after, my 6 potstickers arrived in a basket. I try my first one...ok it's deep fried not pan fried but ok, kind or lukewarm on the inside. The dipping sauce was tasty. Ok tried another one, this one is kind of cool on the inside. Took the third one and cracked it open, it's cold & pink on the inside. THIS IS CHICKEN! pink? Called over the bartender and said it's pink on the inside - her response (precious)...they're frozen and pre cooked, NO! I said, they are cold inside & raw...ok she whisked it away...few minutes later another waitress come back with my original basket (re-fried with the split dumpling) & kind of snottily shoves it it front of me and said - sorry it wasn't hot enough for you. The time was 8:59PM. Could not take any photos since my phone died by this time. I must admit, she did take the Potstickers off the tab. Some advice DO NOT ORDER Potstickers! Had a fun evening at Blackline Tavern last Friday night. This place is really big with lots of various types of seating. I sat at the bar and enjoyed a few of the drafts. As far as I could tell, all of the drafts are local except for the Bud Light. There are at least 12 with more in the back. There are also cans and a full bar. I had a Rachel which was absolutely delicious. My sister had a special sandwich that I think was pulled pork. The fries are standard. The service was excellent. Since it was Friday, there was SINGO (music Bingo) a fun game that everyone played. We all had fun! I thoroughly enjoyed my evening at Blackline Tavern and look forward to returning. read more

It wasn't always so great, but there's a new Food & Beverage Director there now and he has turned this place into a cleaner and more organized place, not to mention the difference in the food! Together with Being a historically significant ski area where part of America's ski history was made, and now reborn, Blackline Tavern was a superb experience, especially so in the middle of a pandemic. The tavern was strictly on a reservation system and we made ours several days in advance at the same time we made our ski reservations. We choose to eat here rather than the cafeteria downstairs to maximize our social distancing. The entrance protocols were adequately strict which gave us a good degree of comfort. Only one entrance way with a waitress who asked the mandatory health questions and then seated us. Besides drinking copious amounts of water, we began our lunch with a really good Second Fiddle local IPA from Fiddlehead Brewery, a dryer, double IPA that I found superb. Next were the chicken pot stickers, also tasty and just enough appetizer food for two. The main course for me was the chicken Spiede, a creation import from Binghamton. This was one tasty and saucy creation. My other half had the Blackline Burger which was amazing The overall visit was superb. Although we wondered how amazing this large and welcoming place would have been pre-pandemic, and decided to return next year worth hopefully having it behind us. read more

Stacey was a great waiter, recommended her favorite which was the BLT which was delicious !!! Added avocado to the meal (which you can do as well), it made it excellent for our lunch! Took some time to make which we were well informed, due to a busy lunch crowd with to-go orders (which you can do separately as well), but overall was a great experience! UFO white is on draft which definitely hit the spot for our whole morning round of ski trails! There's a new winter menu to check out! There's also heated lamps for outdoor dining at a 30 min limit, great views of the whole mountain. This place has decent food and good drinks that are fairly priced. It gets crowded during lunch time because most of the skiirs are most likely to come here for a bite The staff is really nice, but the service itself is super slow! It took forever for a simple Cesar salad to be served. read more

I have never seen a ski resort bar be such a hot spot for after ski and later evening! Great music, great food. It it a fun place to hang out. On busy days, I wish they had more staff - sometimes it takes a while to be served. However they are all nice! BLT is always a great time and it never disappoints! Kudos to the Magic team that has made this one of our favorite places to go! read more

Super locals dinner tonight! Chicken schnitzel was cooked to perfect and fresh salty french fries. I loved the garden salad with fresh greens and delicious blue cheese and candied walnuts. Nice balsamic dressing! I am coming back for the new prime rib night tomorrow night (Friday) I am sure it will be great as well! read more

We went here based on the 5 reviews in the comment section which said it was a great new place. After the experience tonight, pretty sure reviews were written by employees. Do not go to this place - see below for details. My friends and I sat at the bar and it was quickly obvious that the bar tenders had no interest in serving patrons. When flagging down servers for drinks and food, there was a strange sense of hostility. Our original bar tender never came back to serve us and spent the whole night at the computer with the receipts, the guy who took our food orders was clearly drunk and randomly yelling things throughout the night, and other bartenders simply stopped working as the night went on and hung out in the bar. Not once during the night did someone ask us if we needed anything. Maybe you can chalk it up to us not being locals, but for a place advertising itself as newly renovated and open for business, the owner should work on hiring friendlier employees. Hope this review gets through to Blackline and the service improves. Seems like a place that has potential. read more

I was here for lunch yesterday...but unfortunately I can't tell you anything about the food as we were so fed up with the lack of service that we ended up leaving. We got in and grabbed a table around 11:45. It was probably 15 minutes later that a waitress actually came over with menus, and 10-15 after that to come back for our order. Around 12:20 she finally came out with two beers our party ordered, but no waters for me or my brother ((both of us were parched). 12:35 comes around and the waitress half heartedly comes over with our waters to say, 'the kitchen is really busy' in an effort to apologize. My fiancé gives her a ten minute ultimatum, but since we were all starving we just ended up leaving. So disappointing. We are used to getting lunch quickly at other resorts and I don't understand why the service was so terrible. To make matters worse, the music was so loud and annoying that we couldn't even hear ourselves talk. They definitely need to work on their atmosphere, and working to actually get food out of the kitchen. read more

This restaurant/bar is located inside Magic Mountain ski resort. I watched as the bar staff greeted customers by name, so I can only assume that most people here are locals. The place was packed so it wasn't always easy to get the staff's attention and the food took forever to arrive. The burger was decent, but the extra crispy fries were some of the best I've ever had. Apparently, Bloody Marys are their specialty and I witnessed many people ordering it. It did look quite interesting and unique. Unfortunately, I'm not a fan of Bloody Marys. Gross. I mean this place was a joke. I saw staff drinking for one. The food when it came out at last was stone cold and soggy. I paid a dollar extra for cold soggy bacon on my burger why? The menu is TINY and repeats itself to look larger then it is and over over priced for food that I know is coming out of a box I am sure. I will never go back. EVER. Read the old reviews (pre-Dec 2016) and you can see why so many people are so excited by the changes that happened in the last month. The place was all but gutted in early December and the changes have all been for the better. Real chefs turning out great food and the taplist is the best in the area. Is it fancy? No, it's a tavern at a ski area but it is worth a visit even if you're not skiing. read more
