Ask the Community - The Inn Between

Are any of the rooms on the first floor?

Thank you for reaching out to us Mary. At the moment we do not have any rooms on the first floor. We are working towards adding one soon. Have a wonderful Spring.

Is breakfast included with the booking?

    Yes!!

How private is this inn? Will I feel like I am staying in someone's house? Do the owners live in the Inn?

The inn is both an inn and restaurant. The rooms are private with their own bathrooms. There are common areas to spend time along with outside deck sitting. The inn keepers don’t live on premise. Hope you find this helpful.

Upper Pass is a very nice ski lodge with a nice Vermont feel. The room was spacious and clean and in addition to the main bedroom there was a smaller bedroom with bunk beds and a sink. The decor was nice without being overbearing. Plenty of room, good TV, a desk and couple of comfortable beds. The bathroom was fine with a good shower. There was a small coffee maker in the room and they also stocked the room with some breakfast bars. The rooms do not have a refrigerator or microwave. In the lobby of the lodge is the Red Slate restaurant and bar which are not open on Monday or Tuesday. There is also a nice living room with a fireplace, couches and lots of games. Upper Pass Lodge is an excellent option if you are looking to stay in the Londonderry area. The lodge is welcoming and friendly, it has a great feel as an independent hotel, plus on the times I have stayed it has offered outstanding value for lodging on a Vermont ski trip. Okemo is about 1/2 hour away and Mount Snow is a bit further. The Upper Pass Lodge does hospitality right.

The downside is it extremely loud, we stayed on the first floor, the people above us, we heard every step, like the floor makes cracking noises. It is dog friendly, nice, but when someone leaves their dog at 8am and it barks incessantly, not cool. An update of the pillows would also be nice.

It was wonderful. I am a clean freak and I couldn't believe that walking around on the floor in barefeet, my feet remained clean. Everything was immaculate. The owner is very friendly and helpful. There are thoughtful extras everywhere - huge variety of continental breakfast items in the office for guests, basket of free treats in the room, good-size fridge and real freezer in the room, super comfortable beds and bedding, pure white hefty towels, and big room and closet and drawers. The price was incredible and we were only a half hour from Okemo. We highly recommend the American Grill Restaurant and the Red Slate Restaurant. The food was delicious, staff and chefs amazing, and the prices like pre-pandemic. Couldn't believe it.

I discovered Snowdon Chalet by chance when coming up to see a World Cup race at Killington. Jen, the owner, was amazing. I had to leave early in the morning to catch the race, so she made a lunch bag with a fresh muffin, snack bars, a box of juice, and a yogurt- and had it waiting for me when I got out the door at 6:00am. The motel has a truly hip, retro architectural vibe. The rooms are all updated, always clean, and stocked with goodies. Jen and her husband are very accommodating- the customer service here is like no where else. Very family friendly and they truly care that you're enjoying your stay at the motel and finding great things to do in the area. We've priced other places in the area. But you really get a vastly better experience and value at Snowdon Chalet.

To start, our room was immaculate; upon entering our room, we were greeted with homemade shortbread cookies and flower petals on our bed to commemorate our fifth anniversary. Our room was perfectly clean and the bed was beyond comfortable. There were just so many little things that the inn had thought of- from Diptique toiletries to the most comfortable bathrobes laid out for us. After arriving, we spent the day meandering around the quaint town of Weston. Once the evening arrived, we arrived at the amazing Left Bank. The front desk helped us organize our reservation. One of the most enjoyable parts of our evening was finding out that the restaurant has their own sommelier to help us find the right wine! We had a cheese platter to start, steak frites, as well as ice cream and chocolate mousse for dessert. It was all divine! Once the evening winded down, the inn had everything to make us have a nice, relaxing, evening. We sat by the fire outside for some time and enjoyed the tranquility of the Weston. The next day, we were greeted with homemade blueberry muffins and coffee. We also stoped by their bakery, where they had a plethora of delicious breakfast and lunch options, such as farro salad and homemade rotisserie chicken. We are so sad to leave the Weston and will definitely be back soon. The highlight of our stay was: the amazing staff, impeccable attention to detail, delicious food, and the quaint town of Weston. This was one of the best stays I've had and cannot wait to return!

The staff was more than accommodating and felt like an extension of my traveling party. They were there when I needed them, but also gave the perfect amount of space and distance, even for an inn as quaint as this one. The location is very ideal, it's only a short walk (which I did twice) to the Vermont Country Store, and even though they're closed, it's just few more steps to the Playhouse and Theater Company. I'm a sucker for beautiful Millwork, and the room I stayed in was built so perfectly it felt like it was handcrafted. I'm attaching 2 pictures to show how detailed it was, and with all that detail there's an extra layer of soundproofing which is excellent because I was working remotely during the day. Along with that, the wifi was very fast and had no lags for video calls. From there, it's shut laptop, head downstairs to The Left Bank for a meal and a drink.

Getting there proved a bit challenging when Google Maps routed us on State Route 121 which has some unpaved sections; luckily going back was easier using Route 35 to Route 11. Arriving at Grafton the first impression was of a classic New England Inn with a welcoming glow on a cold winter night. Entering through the B&B lobby had a great warm and comfortable feeling. The feeling of history is reflected in sign over the front desk showing the many prominent guests who have stayed over the years. The restaurant is classy, burgundy-colored walls with white trim and classic fixtures; a wonderful upscale dining room without being stuffy. They even had live music with a guitarist playing soft rock. Our server was very nice, professional and attentive. The menu combines classics and some interesting touches, I ordered the Bouillabaisse and my friend ordered the Caesar Salad and Chicken Wings. Our food came out quickly. The Caesar salad was huge, the wings were tasty and a generous portion. My Bouillabaisse was excellent a nice tomato and fennel broth loaded expertly prepared scallops, shrimp, mussels and a large fish fillet. The highlight were the large sweet perfectly seared scallops, but all of the seafood were delicious. For me this was a Pescetarian dream dish. We were persuaded to order dessert my friend got the Apple Pie and I got the Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookie topped with vanilla ice cream. Both desserts were sweet and satisfying, a great way to end a wonderful meal. I would strongly recommend having dinner at the Grafton Inn, the food, service and atmosphere are great, prices are reasonable for what you get. This was a perfect way to top off our ski trip with a superior culinary experience.

The breakfast was a buffet with eggs, pancakes, French toast, biscuits and sausage gravy, bacon, sausage, fruit and more. Yummy! The rooms and the rest of the Inn have a historic feel. But they provide good WiFi throughout to keep you connected. The bed was a king- I slept like a baby! We will have to come back to check out more of the facility. It was much more money. I figured I'd get a better rate because my husband was a disabled. I went to the actual website for the hotel itself in Springfield and the people that answer the phone and I don't remember her name right now, but she was amazing so helpful. Help me get straightened out help me to rebook the reservation, but then now is fast forward to yesterday. I came into the hotel. I was greeted very nicely by this beautiful smell in the hallway Like a pine tree Christmas tree good thing which I didn't know was an air freshener I thought at first was the Christmas tree in the hallway.. The girl at the front desk, Emily she was just filling in for her mother, which I didn't know that at first, but she was very professional very outgoing greet you. Good evening welcome when you come in the door explain who I was what I needed she ends up being able to give me a room like two doors from the actual entrance at the back at the handicap entrance. So my John didn't have to walk too far since you don't been sitting for almost 3 hours in the car to get here. It was tough so then we got the wrong. I got settled came down and asked her several questions she had no problem the girl that was doing the cleanup she her name was Donna. She was working and it was her birthday like hello don't even take your birthday off wow I then talk with her for a bit to explain some things about the hotel. Everything is fresh clean bright it's beautiful. I'm sure it looks just as good when it's not decorated for Christmas as it does today it's all decorated people, Christmas, decorations and trees and bows and this fake present under the tree. Everything was just amazing so far so now I'm having breakfast and I got to sleep late for the first time, I can't say how long but breakfast has it starts off with a waffle station then it has four different kinds of fresh juice then it has a cooler that has chocolate milk in it. It has fresh yogurt, cottage cheese, boiled eggs, regular sticks of cheese then they have cold cereal. They have hot cereal. They have fresh yogurt that you can make buffets with they have things and stuff they have three kinds of fresh fruit. They have a bread station that has bagels and English muffins and toast in it with peanut butter and jelly butter Have a microwave for heating. Then their hot station has bacon and sausage, and it also has cheese omelettes and scrambled eggs this morning if two kinds of fresh coffee, hot water for coconut tea. I mean, if you can't find something for breakfast here to eat then you have a problem I had a fresh buttermilk waffle with bacon. Everything looks delicious. Looks amazing fresh I mean this has been absolutely my number one experience in hotel and the best Western of all the times I've stayed I really enjoyed this one if they were all cookie cutter, I would be doing great. I think at one time we did stay at one of the one in Pennsylvania, and that was fantastic as well, but it's nice. You can go more than one and more than one state and it's just the same. I will definitely be back here again up here for a friendly family party tonight, but we're staying till tomorrow so we can have a real short brief vacation and get some sleep without eating anyways and being bothered and stuff. it's also literally a stone stove from the highway exit you cannot go wrong by coming off and using this as a rest stop is definitely something you should come to check out is not till 12 so I mean you have no excuse not to lay in bed. Take your time get some breakfast go back and relax and everything is just top-notch here. Also forgot to put up top all the employees address so professional in the beautiful royal blue best western shirts, nice pair of black pants and sneakers also into a swimming pool, which I'm sure we won't get time to use this time as we're getting super late last night and my husband was very tired and pain and today we have the party, but I will definitely come back and try the pool next time
