A lovely inn with super friendly innkeepers. Nice, clean, comfortable room with great breakfast. You will feel at home with Dan & Penny. It is evident that they love what they do ...and they do it EXTREMELY WELL!

English high tea

Very cute place! I came here for their high tea so I cannot comment on their hotel services. The English high tea was full of yummy homemade sandwiches, scones and desserts. I especially loved my tea! I believe it was berry flavored. Plenty of flavor and I didn't need sugar.

The Inn Victoria is an upscale New England, B&B conveniently located in downtown Chester, Vt. on route 11. A short distance from Interstate 89 if you're interested in a speedy route North to Montreal or South to Concord New Hampshire and Boston and beyond. On the other hand if you head West it connects to the most picturesque, route 100, which is one of the nation's most scenic roads. The owners, I believe, Dan and Penny do a fabulous job decorating there inn, and offer very luxurious & comfortable hospitality. I had trouble leaving. I couldn't stop talking and enjoying late morning conversations with everyone. Their free breakfast is fabulous. There are also many attractions in the area. I recommend it and will definitely return.

Spent the night here last weekend for my bfs 40th birthday getaway. Such a beautiful inn with the nicest most welcoming owners. Coffee is always available, if you need tea they've got you covered, every kind possible. Our room was perfect! I was unaware that we happened to be in a room that has access to the hot tub out on the porch, next time I'll bring a bathing suit. I did however turn on fireplace and take a long hot bath in the tub. King size bed with luxurious sheets.... heavenly. When we returned from dinner people were sitting in the living room enjoying wine, just a real homey feel and I loved it. Unfortunately we missed breakfast (we are not morning people and why rush to get out of that bed?!) as we were leaving Penny did offered us muffins but we were on our way to breakfast so passed on them. Location is perfect; close to some great breweries and ski resorts. I just love VT, I'm sure we will return! Thank you for the perfect stay. P.s. We apologize for not leaving a better tip, our room was splendid but we didn't have much cash on hand.

Hot tub outside the princess Helena and Prince Albert rooms

This place is awesome. Stayed here for 2 nights during my 3 day trip to Vermont and it was the highlight of my trip. Booked the princess Helena room for $199 a night and it was worth every penny. The room was very big and has a king bed and a free standing tub in the room which is great for a relaxing bubble bath. The room has a deck with a hot tub on it and only 2 rooms have access to it. The room also has a large tv with pretty much every channel you can possibly want. There's also excellent wifi. It also has a fireplace which heats the entire room and is super convenient for those cold winters Vermont has. The Inn is run by the friendliest people you will ever meet in your life. Dan, Penny, and Rachel were more than accommodating during our stay. They are more than happy to answer any questions you have and are there to help in any way. Also Dan makes a wonderful breakfast! He made us eggs, bacon, and potatoes with vegetables and it was extremely tasty. Honestly our stay was incredible and the next time I pay a visit to Vermont I will most definitely be staying here!

We stayed here for over the Thanksgiving weekend, and after only being there 1 night I told my husband I felt like we were with family. Penny, Dan, Jess, and Rachel were so awesome. A special thank you to Penny who went above and beyond for my husband who has a food allergy. I can't say enough great things about this place. Our room (Prince Albert) was welcoming with a fireplace and awesome jetted bathtub. On the deck outside of the room was a hot tub that we visited every-night (my husbands favorite). The food was phenomenal! If you are so lucky to have the poached ginger Pear or the Eggs Benedict you will see what I am talking about. Truly I can't wait to go back.

Prince Alfred room. View of bed from near the tv

What a wonderful gem to have found in Vermont. My wife and I had a wonderful stay in the Prince Alfred room. We arrived late due to having to work and then travel from NYC. We were cheerfully greeted by Dan upon arrival and promptly shown our room and explained breakfast time, the wine library, and given a quick tour of our room and how to use the hot tub and fireplace. The wine library was a wonderful feature, if you forget to bring a bottle of wine take 1 from the cabinet and just replace it before you leave. Next time I visit I will definitely bring something from NYC that is hard to find outside the local area. Breakfast was superb, better than any restaurant I have been to. The waffles the first day were so light and fluffy. We will definitely be returning for another visit maybe in the summer or fall , can't wait to return! Thank you Penny, Dan, and Rachel for your wonderful hospitality.

Upper Pass is a very nice ski lodge with a nice Vermont feel. The room was spacious and clean and in addition to the main bedroom there was a smaller bedroom with bunk beds and a sink. The decor was nice without being overbearing. Plenty of room, good TV, a desk and couple of comfortable beds. The bathroom was fine with a good shower. There was a small coffee maker in the room and they also stocked the room with some breakfast bars. The rooms do not have a refrigerator or microwave. In the lobby of the lodge is the Red Slate restaurant and bar which are not open on Monday or Tuesday. There is also a nice living room with a fireplace, couches and lots of games. Upper Pass Lodge is an excellent option if you are looking to stay in the Londonderry area. The lodge is welcoming and friendly, it has a great feel as an independent hotel, plus on the times I have stayed it has offered outstanding value for lodging on a Vermont ski trip. Okemo is about 1/2 hour away and Mount Snow is a bit further. The Upper Pass Lodge does hospitality right.

Getting there proved a bit challenging when Google Maps routed us on State Route 121 which has some unpaved sections; luckily going back was easier using Route 35 to Route 11. Arriving at Grafton the first impression was of a classic New England Inn with a welcoming glow on a cold winter night. Entering through the B&B lobby had a great warm and comfortable feeling. The feeling of history is reflected in sign over the front desk showing the many prominent guests who have stayed over the years. The restaurant is classy, burgundy-colored walls with white trim and classic fixtures; a wonderful upscale dining room without being stuffy. They even had live music with a guitarist playing soft rock. Our server was very nice, professional and attentive. The menu combines classics and some interesting touches, I ordered the Bouillabaisse and my friend ordered the Caesar Salad and Chicken Wings. Our food came out quickly. The Caesar salad was huge, the wings were tasty and a generous portion. My Bouillabaisse was excellent a nice tomato and fennel broth loaded expertly prepared scallops, shrimp, mussels and a large fish fillet. The highlight were the large sweet perfectly seared scallops, but all of the seafood were delicious. For me this was a Pescetarian dream dish. We were persuaded to order dessert my friend got the Apple Pie and I got the Skillet Chocolate Chip Cookie topped with vanilla ice cream. Both desserts were sweet and satisfying, a great way to end a wonderful meal. I would strongly recommend having dinner at the Grafton Inn, the food, service and atmosphere are great, prices are reasonable for what you get. This was a perfect way to top off our ski trip with a superior culinary experience.

This was not comfortable. Many tables were occupied so we couldn't move to another table. Food: The menu is somewhat limited. Since there is only one kitchen, they use the same menu for both the 1801 tavern and the connected PhelpsBarn. That's not a bad thing but it just depends on whether you are looking to Dine or Eat. Chicken Wings app was good, not great. Give it a 7. I ordered the $40 filet mignon. I asked for MEDIUM RARE with emphasis on medium rare. It came out medium then the residual heat made it close to medium well. Disappointing. The waitress (Joann and trainer Hannah) asked how I liked the filet. I gave an honest answer that I was disappointed in the meal. I give honest opions since this is the feedback they need to make improvements where necessary. I did not ask, but Joann took the filet off the bill. My wife got the lamb chops. The two large chops were very good. Cooked perfectly. Their salads are quite good. Their Caesar salad is beautiful and plentiful. They do have a semi limited stocked bar in the tavern. Mostly average stuff. I did find and bought Remy Martin Cognac for my digestif. The food wait staff are all very helpful and pleasant. Joann and Megan are very very nice. Nice active fireplace in the sitting room. Our Presidential suite was quite clean and comfortable. Breakfast dining area was cool. Most folks were wearing heavy sweaters or jackets. Really!! Robbie at the front desk is nice and helpful. Angela is the innkeeper and runs a tight ship. I think we caught the 1801 food preparers on an off night. This, in no way, will change our opinion of this charming Inn. We will return.

From the moment you walk in you are treated with warm hospitality by the owners Judy & Phil along with their staff. Something that stands out is the staff have been the same, which speaks for the owners. I can't say enough about how friendly, accommodating, and welcoming, everyone. We stayed in the main building, in rooms 17, 15, 12 & 14 all have cozy accommodations that are spacious and very clean. Room 15 was a two-room suite with a gas fireplace that we enjoyed in the evening. Room 14 also has a gas fireplaced that we enjoyed. Our favorite room is 12 on the first floor with a private balcony. All the rooms have very comfortable beds, and each room has a small refrigerator. Each of these rooms all had a view of the mountains in the background. Breakfast is included and is served in the lovely dining room. Thersa is very friendly and always ensures we have everything. Breakfast starts with fresh baked muffins and fruit. There is always a selection for breakfast from eggs, omelets and either French toast, waffles or pancakes. I have enjoyed different omelets, the Cinnamon French toast, waffles w/strawberries and blueberry pancakes served with warm maple syrup that comes from a local farm. In the afternoon you can relax by the fireplace in the parlor and enjoy a cup of coffee or tea with a variety of fresh baked cookies that are set up for your enjoyment. I highly recommend having dinner in the dining room that is right on the premises at least one night during your stay. The chef prepares great meals, and the menu has a very nice selection. Service has always been exceptional. There is a nice selection of wine, beer and specialty cocktails to choose from. I would highly recommend taking a ride to the "Vermont Country Store" during your stay. The store brought us back to our childhood with the nostalgic toys, rows of penny candy and the original tins of "Charlie chips and much more! We loved the pool and hot tub as well. It's very peaceful and relaxing. The Castle building really is gorgeous as well. The staff at the hotel are very nice and want to be helpful. We used the spa and it was okay. The gym is large and well equipped. I had a massage which was okay. The room I was in had a window which faced the road and the traffic noise was louder than the spa music that was playing so didn't lend itself to relaxing. The massage was over $200 so I didn't think it was a great value because I didn't really feel fully relaxed after it. Ask for a treatment room on the pool side of the building if possible. We ate at the restaurant and it was pretty good. Prices were high but seemed to be about on par with another meal we had in the area. Service was nice. Our room was okay...very spacious but the lack of outlets is tough to manage in 2025 with so many devices to charge. I understand the building is very old so I get that there aren't a lot of plugs. My Verizon connectivity was terrible in the whole area and due to a wide-scale outage, Wifi was not working when I was there, which was problematic because I had to take a business call. That and a couple of other issues with our room led to us leaving early to find someplace that had a working Wifi connection but I have to say the staff were helpful and understanding. It was the off season and I think maybe they were a little short staffed but I get that it's tough for businesses these days. Overall, this place was fine and it is very beautiful.

The setting is beautiful, and the property has a lot of history -- over 125 years old and once belonging to Governor Fletcher, with only 12 rooms. Unfortunately, our stay was very disappointing. We checked into Room #9 and right away noticed issues. The bathroom door lock was broken, and I ended up getting stuck inside until my husband let me out. There were also many dead bees on the floor when we arrived, and by the next morning we saw live bees in the room. Since the windows didn't open, I had no choice but to kill them. Service was limited -- no housekeeping even when requested, and the hotel felt very understaffed (likely because it was off-season). The spa treatment was okay, but there was only one massage therapist available. The pool area was relaxing, but that was the highlight. The bee problem got so bad that we cut our stay short. Although we had booked for three nights, we left after just a day and a half, checking out at 9 p.m. on the second night because it became unmanageable. Staff sent a technician, but the only solution offered was to spray, and the bees kept coming back. The environment and historic charm are wonderful, but the property isn't being maintained to the level it deserves. Sadly, I don't see myself returning.

There are plenty of books and games in the lobby and extra room for entertainment. One small note, I'd recommend staying in an upstairs room, as some of the floorboards creak and I imagine the sound carries to rooms below. They offered us a seat at the bar while they prepared out table and I had an amazing smoked old fashioned. We were seated shortly and from there on, the evening just kept exceeding expectations. Our waiter was really exceptional. I can't recall his name but he made the night extra special. We started with spicy tuna bites where we great and a perfect size for an appetizer. I had the surf and turf special which was really great. I sampled some of my husband's NY Strip and it was also very nice. We tried to save room for dessert and I had an exceptional peanut butter bar. That was awesome. My better half had a pistachio brulee cheesecake. It had a good flavor but I thought the texture was too soft, but to be honest is was good. It just didn't meet the same level as everything else. The atmosphere the whole night was wonderful. There are a number of parking lots; both days we arrived early so we had a choice of the 2 free lots near the base area. Equipment drop off is easy and the walk from the lots is not too far. The biggest issue is to get through the resort to the base lodge entails quite a lot of stairs. The lodge itself is what you would expect, nothing fancy but more than serviceable. The restrooms and changing areas are downstairs, which is made a bit harder by the angled staircase, which can be a bit challenging when you are in ski boots. The changing areas have seasonal lockers, rental lockers and free racks for bag storage which is appreciated.
