OVER THE TOP! My husband and I eat out almost every night at nice places. We have been anxiously awaiting this restaurants opening. It is five minutes from our vacation house where we spend a lot of our time. This is an amazing addition to the community and to all who love a very elevated dining experience without any pretension. The food was wonderful. I had the steak which was cooked a perfect medium. My husband had the salmon also perfectly done. We did start with the mousse and deviled eggs....neither are to be missed! We were lucky enough to have a table on the porch. The grounds are stunning and plan to grab a glass of port to end your meal and play a game of bocce on the beautiful court. The ambiance of the restaurant is attractive but once it got busy, I felt we were sitting in the middle of a traffic intersection. Our food was over cooked. What can I say. We must have had 5 different people come to our table. We would have rather had one good wait person. Once they we aware we were not pleased with our food, they tried to make corrections, but it was too late. One wait person told us we ordered the wrong thing!!!! Like it was our fault? If it's on the menu, it should be good. If the chef cannot cook something well, they should not be on the menus. Don't try to pretend you are a high end quality restaurant if you aren't. read more

Our family had been going to the old Inn at Weston for over 15 years when it closed in 2020. It was our "go to" spot in VT for special occasions or just a special meal. Although sad to see ownership change and the Inn close, we were excited to see its new life as The Weston (with the restaurant renamed The Left Bank) after a 2-year gutting and renovation. The new owner has done a spectacular job with the renovation and decoration. You still sense you are in the old Inn but everything is completely different. With room prices ranging from $600-$2500/night, The Weston is clearly aiming for a different clientele than the old Inn. The Left Bank seems to be aiming for the same crowd. Our first experience was mixed. Service was terrific with some familiar faces. We were greeted very warmly by the new hostess. The decor is beautiful. My wife absolutely loved the beet salad and the salmon. I was disappointed by the french onion soup and omelette. The broth was delicious but instead of melted cheese on top it looked like they had floated bits of cheese in the soup. It felt more like a lazy version than a unique version. The omelette was billed as having d'affinois cheese, which is my favorite soft cheese. The only taste that came through was a strong rind taste, which seemed more like they had used Brie. I asked and was told it was a "double cream" but could not get confirmation it was d'affinois. The omelette was otherwise bland. For dessert we shared an order of the profiteroles. The coffee ice cream and chocolate sauce were amazing. The pastry was over baked and hard. Perhaps reflecting the room pricing, a "not very big" gin martini was $18, which I think is a lot for VT--like the $28 burger. We will certainly be back. My wife will likely repeat her order and I will try something different read more

Absolutely a first class experience. Matt, the manager ensured the quality was suburb. Laurie, the server was attentive and "spot on". Ashley quality controlled customer satisfaction. John made outstanding drinks. As a family, our food choices varied but we sampled each dish and were pleasantly surprised by each palate pleasing experience. Yeah, I know this seems convoluted, but as a NYC dweller and part time VT visitor, TLB ticked all the boxes. It's nice to try a new venue without the pretentious menu to accommodate the out-of-state crowds. Chef Combs created a menu that is uncomplicated and delicious. It's rare to find a restaurant that continues to exceed expectations every time you go, but The Left Bank has repeatedly done this. Conservatively, I've been about 1-2x per month over the last year+. From meals with just my husband and also on occasion with groups of 4-8 people, the experience is always fabulous. We've sat at the bar, we've sat outside, we've eaten in the dining room and always the service, the food and the ambiance have been exceptional. It's now a permanent part of our dining roster because we feel so welcomed and cared for. Chef Brett is a magician with food. Their new pastry chef makes me go off my no bread diet. John at the bar is one of the best bartenders I've ever seen - and there is not one server we don't love, they all go out of their way to make sure you are having a great experience. And Matt is a superb host. Truly they have the best team. If we were to be indulged with having one wish to be granted - is to expand the beer list with other local craft options. If you are looking for a memorable dining experience, put The Left Bank at the top of your list. read more

First time diner, hoping to be long time customer. Enjoyed the most spectacular dining experience on Saturday evening. 4 adults, 4 teenagers with adult palettes. The craft cocktails, the menu, the desserts! The gorgeous outside garden and landscaping. So many wonderful touches. Impeccable service with a smile! Our table had the salmon, braised beef cheeks, steak frites, short rib burger, chicken. Everyone very happy. Deviled eggs are a must, as are the profiteroles and the pistachio tart. We've had some nice/fine meals in the Weston/Chester/Londonderry/Manchester area over the last 10 years, but this was by far the best. We had a wonderful experience at The Left Bank. The onion soup was sublime with just a hint of the sweet and savory in the caramelized onions. My wife also had the halibut with a pomegranate sauce and I had the beef cheeks in a wine reduction with creamy mascarpone polenta All was melt in your mouth texture. They were both delicious. We would highly recommend the chef and the friendly staff as the cost is not high given the quality of the ingredients and the attention to the preparations. Perfection. The first thing you should do is to make a reservation now before everyone finds out about this phenomenal Green Mountain jewel. It is an intimate dining experience with Michelin star quality food. The preparation and presentation by Chef Brett is unmatched in a 150 mile radius. Of the 4 entree's, appetizers and cocktails everything was perfection and paired beautifully. The menu is thorough but not overwhelmingly so. While the food is as fine as any of the countless Michelin starred restaurants (some 3 stars) I have enjoyed around the world and in nearly every highly rated Zagat NYC restaurant over the last 30 years, you do not leave hungry. The proportions were unexpected and so welcomed. They were not overwhelmingly large but just spot on. Too many times I've left a Michelin 2 or 3 star restaurant where I've spent 2 or 3 times the price and wondered if I can find something to eat on the way home. I'm not a big person but a few dots of this or that on a plate that I'm sure took hours to create isn't always meal. You will not experience this at The Left Bank. Thank you Chef Brett for your work. The ambiance is beyond anything I've experienced in VT. It evokes a feeling of a bygone era in Paris, London or old New York. All this and so much more enjoyable due to appropriate sound management. For those distracted by loud music, people and the clatter of staff attending to the tables, then this is your haven because none of that is present here. As for the surroundings, this stunningly re-envisioned and remodeled historic property is truly something to see and experience. The private dining room/wine room is the work of a master craftsman in woodwork. The wine racks and shelving are mahogany, seriously. The wine list is extensive and I have no doubt with advanced notice, they would provide almost anything you might request. On to the service, The Left Bank is thankfully and mercifully as unpretentious as it is spectacular. Our professional server, a Vermonter who lives in Weston, was equal parts charming, attentive but neither overly familiar. It was a fun experience and she added to the overall feeling of warmth and that everyone there really wants the patrons to feel welcomed. The restaurant and resort management were friendly, engaged and greeted our party by name as we left. We were thanked for our visit and they genuinely cared about our guest experience. And, yes there is a luxurious spa and resort with an exclusive number of guest rooms that I believe opens in September. Though we live less than 20 min away, this might just be a staycation spot for a special occasion. I hesitated to write such a gushing review. I rarely take the time to write them at all. However, The Left Bank deserved the time I took in creating this review. We look forward to many more fabulous evenings with friends and family here. Superb. No other word comes to mind. Chef Brett, GM Eric and team have created a gem in Weston. No detail was overlooked in this spectacular French bistro, featuring authentic and traditional cuisine. Every bite was better than the next, from the perfectly warmed pistachio crusted goat cheese on the beet salad to the divine duck fat dipping sauce for the frites. Main courses were cooked to perfection. Very approachable wine list pairs well with the selection. Don't miss the profiteroles! The food is equalled by the exquisite attention to detail in the classic upscale decor. Everything from the Sferra linen napkins to the elegant regional art. Truly, no detail was overlooked.
