The food here is superb. We stopped here for lunch because we were traveling with dogs and they have dog friendly seating outdoors. The outdoor seating is very comfortable with shade provided by some large umbrellas. Our waitress happily filled the water dish for our dogs. I wanted to try everything on the menu, but settled for the lobster roll with pommel frites...best fries I've had. The lobster salad and bread it was on were perfection. My husband had the roast beef panini and enjoyed it as well. Finished with a maple creme Brulee...delish. This was a lovely lunch...would definitely go back for dinner

Visiting Vermont on a bus trip and we had the luxury of seeing one of the entrees being made by the chef and owner. He was very friendly and funny!! He made it look so easy! He even asked someone from our group to go up and dice half an onion with him. We had 2 waitresses taking care of about 45 of us and they were excellent. We had a choice of 3 entrees: chicken, beef or vegetable quiche. I had the beef that was so tender with red wine sauce over mashed potato, it was amazing!! I heard nothing but positive comments for the other entrees as well. For desert we had a combination of little bites from their bakery and all were amazing. Lemon squares were tasty lemon curd with buttery crust, spice muffin with cream cheese, 7 layer bar and flourless chocolate cake. Our room was just an open space with the kitchen setup with a mirror for viewing. I didn't get a chance to look at the dining room or upstairs seating. I'm not a expert on French cooking but I was impressed with the flavors and would go back if in the area.

It was our first time there and we had the worlds BEST server and bartender, Dawn!!!! The entire menu looked divine and it was a tough decision to make! We had a chicken pasta special and their steak special with a side of scallops. We are it ALL and the portions were generous! The ambiance is very family friendly, bright and inviting. We live an hour away and can't wait to come back to see Dawn!

The food was AMAZING!!! so delicious!! 10/10 recommend! AND the homemade bread was to die for! we had Dawn as a server, and she gave wonderful service and was very friendly, along with all the other staff!

This place is fantastic. Take a day trip drive down route 7 to Brandon and treat yourself. Better than most places in the Burlington area.

We ordered the Arugula Roasted Beet salad. The arugula was super fresh and good, however, it overpowered the beets which were thin and underrepresented. We also enjoyed a shrimp cocktail which was very good. For mains we had the roasted duck breast and the braised short ribs. The duck breast was a bit more well done than we normally have preferred, but was delicious, tender and moist. The short ribs were melt-in-your mouth perfect. We both accompanied the mains with a glass of red wine (one of the Hout-Plaisance and one of the Pessac Leognan). For desert we tried the carrot cake and the peanut butter pie. The carrot cake was good but the peanut butter pie was heavenly. In all a very well prepared dinner. However, we expected more creativity from the chef compared to other meals we have enjoyed in the region. Pricing was on the high side.

I said you browse; I'll stand out here in the shade. Then I spied the sign for Chateau on the Lake, which said they were open for Happy Hour between 2:00pm and 5:00pm. So, I sauntered down Allens Alley towards the Chateau. Place was empty, except for the bartender. I announced I was here for Happy Hour, but was informed it's not really a Happy Hour, it's just that bar is open for business. Okay, I'll have a Heineken ($8). Then I went out back, sat in the shade, enjoyed my beer, looked at beautiful Lake George, and waited for the wife to call and say she was done browsing.

There are two long tables and an open kitchen in front. The service was great as they took our jackets and offered a cocktail to start. Then we were told which table we would sit at. As we approached our table, the other diners were very friendly and introduced themselves. It felt like coming into someone's house for the holidays and everyone greets you and makes you feel at home. Meal starts with the cocktail hour where snacks were placed on the kitchen island and you can line up and grab what you want. I was a bit nervous with what our 4 year old could eat but she loved the snacks and ate it all happily. There was more than enough appetizers to go around. Some snacks included garlic shrimp, radicchio pancake-harissa aioli, steelhead trout omusubi, ricotta gnocchi. How are these snacks! More like appetizers that are just bite size. Also, a note that the drinks by the glass were very reasonably priced and they had local craft beers and cider as well. At the sit down portion of the meal, we had a sizeable starter with seared diver scallops (3 pieces), then braised beef short ribs with parsnip, and lastly a chocolate cake. We were stuffed! It was so much food for the price and they gave a generous portion even for our 4 year old. From a price point, this was so worth it and even more for the quality of the food and the service. One of the servers continued to come by and just check in our 4 year old to see how she was doing, if she needed orange juice, if she was able to eat the food, if she wanted more popcorn. Really loved the attention to service the folks here give to the diners. Just a quick tip, Get there early, especially if you have a bigger group, seating arrangement may be difficult once people are seated or have situated themselves .
