Pastrami quesadilla and Rutland Red

The Wheel in is a located in central Vermont, The Wheel Inn, is a cozy breakfast and brunch spot tucked away in Benson. They serve great dinner food as well! Upon entry, I was immediately seated by the inn's friendly staff. This American restaurant offers a wide range of dishes, from hearty burgers to delicate salads, catering to all tastes. I had the pastrami quesadilla for my entree! It was excellent and satisfied my hunger! Don't forget dessert, the Wheel Inn offers a variety of delicious pies. I had a slice of the Maple Walnut which was awesome. The dessert was huge, it spanned over two days! So if you are traveling on VT 22A, the Wheel Inn is worth the stop!!

Discovered the Wheel Inn by chance as we were driving home from vacation and it was incredible! We ordered grilled cheese sandwiches, which were simple but delicious and really hit the spot. But the star of the show were the pies. The maple walnut pie in particular was incredible! We got a huge piece of pie with the most delicious maple filling. Truly one of the tastiest pies I've ever eaten! Service was lovely and quick

A drive to the middle of nowhere brought us to this breakfast joint. Rustic, but very clean and well kept, the menu was just what we were looking for. We even started with a home made chocolate eclair which was to die for. I opted for the house made corned beef hash (just right, not too salty or greasy) while my wife ordered the sausage gravy and biscuits (massive!) The prices were a bit high, but considering the quality of the food, we didn't mind. We were amused by the locals who seemed to be related to the staff or owners who played with a cat and walked into the stock room. All in all, it was a very good breakfast, with a bit of local flavor.

Mimosa, with Peachtree? Yes, please

Spent a lot of my childhood weekends here and had wonderful Memories. Stumbled upon it again a few years back and recently have been making the hour + trek frequently because it is that good!! Great place, amazing food!!!! Chimis are incredible if you're bored on a Monday. I literally downloaded this app so I could at least let people Know how good it is!! If you ever end up this way, STOP HERE! I promise you won't be disappointed!!!

If you love fresh food and great people - both with lots of local flavor - then you should already be turning off the beaten path and making your way to The Wheel Inn. They offer delicious food (such as beef from Bridport, Cabot cheese, locally baked rolls) and a zillion varieties of homemade pies and other desserts (ALERT: one dessert serving feeds 2-3. Don't say you weren't warned!). The optional gravy on the fries is hella salt (and probably not made from scratch), but everything else was stellar.

12/12/2019. Another Wheel Inn catered Christmas dinner at GE today. As usual, the food was great. If you have never been out to Benson, and eaten there, I highly recommend going.

Found this in the middle of nowhere on our drive home from the ski lodge area in Vermont. Not the friendliest Vermonters I met but had a delicious breakfast and the food came out in minutes. The melted Vermont cheese on home fries was delish!

I have visited this cafe over the last few months and have loved trying their new items they always seem to have. My boyfriend regularly enjoys the breakfast burrito and we have a pastry and apple butter to try soon as well! We always felt welcome there, as it is great place to sit and relax. I also love that they host weekly events, the owners seem very involved in the quality of what they sell and the environment they do it in.. Ps: I also just tried the asparagus soup and nettle crisps, and I will be thinking about how good it was later... wish I got a bigger bowl! Thanks Jason and Janice

All their pancakes are amazing, even though with my sodium issue I only get a taste of my husband's. My ole favorites were Pumpkin and their classic Sugar & Spice with the perfect amount of sweetness and spice mix. I wish they would serve saltless grits! That would make this girl happy! I only eat a couple of the potatoes, they are very tasty however salt is used or the rest of you wouldn't be eating them....am I right! Of course, my eggs were cooked perfectly! I keep forgetting you have ice cream! They also have many local theme items for sale and don't forget to not head home with Vermont's local Maple Syrup! After searching reviews across four states, Maple Sugar & Vermont Spice was clearly at the top of the list. Three hours after leaving the Boston suburbs, we pulled into the parking lot. The scenery was beautiful we were hungry, and we were happy to be promptly seated by our friendly host. Every positive thing you read in the reviews is true. The staff is friendly. The food is plentiful and wonderful. However... we were not seated in the main dining room. We were brought to an auxiliary room on the west side of the building. The most dominant feature of the room was the white interior sloped ceiling, barn-like wood paneling occupying about two-thirds of the horizontal portion of the walls, and a few coffee mugs and small photos resting atop the paneling. There was a small casement window in the center of the southwest wall. This room had all the charm and natural light of a church basement in Indiana. The comparison to the main dining room is stark. The main room has a view of the grill, and is filled with all the syrup and souvenirs they could possibly fit into the space. The main room is as funky and fun as the auxiliary room is sad and depressing. Will we go back to Maple Sugar & Vermont Spice? Absolutely. The food and service was wonderful. However, we would insist on sitting in the main dining room. If you go, you should, too.

I tried my brothers steak and we both agreed it was the most unique tasting steak we'd ever had in a bad way. My mom ordered a dish that came with rice and it seemed as if it was a type of quick/instant rice and her meal wasn't enjoyable. She said the quality went downhill from previous years. I ordered the duck, and I could hardly cut it, it wasn't tender, it was extremely chewy and the flavor was almost tasteless and what I could taste wasn't good. The sides were better than the duck sadly. My little brothers got burgers and fries and I will say the fries easily best the rest of the food with their salt and skins still on. The prices are steep and are comparable to other "fancy" middle tier restaurants, another side note all of our dishes for 6 people came out within 10 minutes which says something. I wish our experience was different.
