Fantastic comfort food with a small town New England atmosphere. Best breakfasts for 100 miles in any direction. The New Englander's Favorite is also MY favorite, crispy corned beef hash, three eggs any way you want them and a toasted english muffin with real butter. My wife lives their sausage gravy and biscuits, and I have to admit that it is the best version of that dish I have ever tried. Those biscuits do double duty in their homemade style strawberry shortcake too. Perry's is probably my favorite diner of all time, and after scores of visits, I can honestly say every meal has been excellent. Their consistency and quality are unmatched in the region. read more

Not much for ambience, but they do give you fairly large portions and the food is styled after home cooking. I was there today and ordered the fried scallops dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy with a side salad and coleslaw. Coleslaw was not the best I've ever had, fairly mediocre. The potatoes were again mediocre, but the worst part of all was the fact that my scallops were way over cooked. What a shame for a $16 dinner time meal. read more

The food is absolutely delicious! I had a 3 egg omelette, with ham, that filled me up and left me some to bring home! The price is not bad whatsoever, and the feel of the room is inviting. We came here on a Tuesday afternoon with 7 people for lunch. We were able to sit outside, which was nice. This place doesn't look like much, but it really does a great job with the food! Our waitress was very fun and pleasant, joking with our group the whole time she took our orders. Most of us got burgers. The burgers are big, cooked well and very tasty. They do sweet potato fries and regular fries. I would say that the regular fries are much better as someone told me they came from their potato farm? If you're in the area, it's a restaurant to visit. I was very impressed by the food, the quality and the service. read more

I was STARVING and we drove from Killington all the way over here to go somewhere else- but that somewhere else was closed and I think it was for a reason. This place is darn good! The regulars are obvious, and that's a good thing in my book. At the end of my meal even I felt like family. We were in for a veggie omelet (ordered by the bf because he saw someone else's) and a breakfast sandwich (w ham and a hash brown!) both delicious. I had to take a corn muffin to go because I knew I'd be craving some more by the time I got home. The corn muffin didn't even last an hour. I took one bite as soon as we got back in the car. And then devoured half by thirty mins into the drive, really trying to exhibit willpower. Needless to say, it was gone within the hour and we had three more to go before we reached home. Give this place a try if you want good food, good company, and none of the frilly stuff- and some excellent muffins! Back to Perry's again! I got my usual Prime Rib, Mashed and Butternut Squash. My daughter got the Chicken Cordon Bleu.It had a panko coating. As usual, the portions were huge(we'll be enjoying at least two more meals from our Take-home. Despite that , we got desserts to go! Tapioca pudding, my fav comfort dessert and my daughter got their famous Strawberry Shortcake. i also got the Soup DuJour, Sausage-Bean. It was so yummy. The staff are great, fun and friendly. Awesome homemade cooking like grandma use to make. Perrys is a family run restaurant who own there own potato farm. We come here all the time for a cheep filing breakfast. Daily specials and weekend deals too, service is very friendly. They make everything homemade here even the toast, I love the eggs Benedict. read more

Don't set foot in here. Worst restaurant experience of my life. Went in for a burger and sandwich with my wife. Ordered mozzarella sticks as well. 30minutes on the mozzarella. 45m on the burger (Medium Well)Had to ask the waitress how much longer for the burger because she completely ignored us the entire time we were there. Get the burger and it's Medium rare at best. When I told our second waitress about it being undercooked she did offer to recook another, and I told her I didn't have time to wait for another one to cook. I told her "I just won't be coming back again" Still no communication from our original waitress. No apologies nothing. However, I did get a bill... Turkey Club, 12oz. Burger(cooked completely wrong) mozzarella sticks and two unsweetened teas . $46.80 . I left 47.00 which is a lot more than any of them deserved IMO. Left and went to Stewarts shop next a few doors down. As I'm pumping my gas. Our original waitress shows up and says snidely " You forgot your change". I tried to explain that I don't tip for lack of service and bad food that takes too long. She then proceeded to tell my wife that she felt sorry for her being married to me" At that point I had some choice words for her and told her to Drag her ass. The sign on the wall shows just how much of a family restaurant its with it saying GOOD FRIENDS GOOD FOOD GOOD TIMES ! There so much to chose from but I would have to say the best breakfast food would have to be Eggs Benedict. With a over easy egg and your choice of ham and sausage, Toast again with your choice of white, wheat, or homemade bread, with a side of home fries and sausage gravy. Great stop for breakfast. Get the homemade cinnamon raisin toast! Thick and delicious. The eggs tasted fresh, I typically don't like scrambled eggs unless I make them myself but these were good! The waitress was highly entertaining and allowed substitutions if "you were a good boy today" which was an easy "yes!" for the men in our group as it was only 930 am. The sausage gravy felt like it was missing something and the home fries were basically just plain potatoes which always leaves me wanting more. This place made the overall best breakfast I have had out in a long time. My egg was cooked perfectly. This never happens so I was stunned and very pleased! The fried potatoes were made in house from scratch and not those horrid frozen ones encountered almost everywhere these days. The bacon was tasty. The toast was yummy and made from bread they bake in house. Cabot butter was available on the table. I have no complaints other than it was a little smokey from the kitchen-but hey that was probably because they were actually cooking rather than warming things up in the microwave. Great little diner for breakfast. I should have paid better attention because I didn't understand that the omelets don't come with cheese. They are literally egg and whatever the filling is. In defense of the diner, there was a little blurb that said, "add cheddar or provolone to any omelet for extra $" but I, in my infinite wisdom, just assumed that the omelets were being made with another kind of cheese and you could sub in another kind for a little extra. Nope. So I got a veggie omelet that was egg wrapped around some sauteed veggies. I didn't mean to eat such a healthy breakfast, but I did. The homemade breads are amazing. I highly recommend the cinnamon raisin bread. It was absolutely divine. I could have eaten a loaf of that and been content. You can also order, perhaps, the best hot chocolate ever. Huge cup of cocoa with a towering mound of whipped cream. They also sprinkle mini chocolate chips on top (make sure you ask for them!). Heaven in a cup. The pancakes looked bomb though I didn't try them. It seemed like everyone was enjoying their orders. The place was packed and seating is at a premium, so we hightailed it out to let the next group sit down. Eggs Benny, fried chicken, burgers. All great. I'm pretty sure my cholesterol is suffering for it, but this place is the real deal.

The home made toast is unreal! I have only ever come for breakfast and usually get the Farmers Breakfast with French toast and it always kills it. On occasion I will get something off the specials white board which are usually quite unique and definitely "special". The employees are always super nice just as you would expect at a small eatery in Poultney. I wish there coffee tasted a lot better. read more
