Our favorite breakfast spot for the last 4 years. Small country diner with outdoor picnic table seating, convenient to bring my puppy dawg! Home made vermont comfort food cooking at its finest. Food is always fresh from their farm. Made with love by the chef/owners, Walt and Donna Perry. .... RIP: Walt Perry ... Thanks for always turning out consistently fantastic food! Home made bread, fresh eggs and potatoes from their farm. Coffee is sooooo good! Everything is always delicious. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Always pleasant with smiles on their faces! Love this place! Keep cooking Donna! :D

Usually good but tonight chicken and biscuits bad - out of mashed potatoes and fries were awful. Service very pleasant as always.

This was the best breakfast that I have ever had. I had the corned beef hash bowl and it was to die for.

Eggs Benny, fried chicken, burgers. All great. I'm pretty sure my cholesterol is suffering for it, but this place is the real deal.

Taps just WAY over delivered in terms of my expectations. My husband and I adore the VT Farm to…read moreTable scene and I reserved a spot at Taps when I noted some decent reviews, local farm partnerships (by local I mean within town and within 15 miles) and some stand out menu options. They were voted 2019 #2 Best Restaurant in the Rutland area and I think they were robbed. My husband began the night by choosing a menu option that allows customers to buy the back of the house staff a round of cream ale which causes them to erupt in kitchenware percussion and celebratory hooting. The Potato Leek soup was velvety and delicious. They served us the best fried Brussel Sprouts that I have ever eaten. They were crispy, well seasoned and the aioli was also good but they didn't even need it. I am not much of a drinker but their specialty margarita was so well made (and strong) that had I not already gotten quite precious after the first one, I would have ordered another. My husband liked the cauliflower, squash mac and cheese special. My mushroom ravioli with capers and cream sauce were also delicious. We finished up with a house made lemon-lime cheese cake. Usually, citrus is not welcome in my dessert. I prefer chocolates, cookies and caramels in my cheesecake. I want to know that my Diabetic Ketoacidosis Emergency admission to a backwater hospital was well earned. However, it was delicious. The service was friendly and unpretentious, in my adorable, slightly drunken state I became absolutely thrilled when one of the waitresses was publicly gifted with a Plague Doctor Squishable (look them up). I ordered mine in September and cannot wait to receive it. I felt an immediate, margarita and plague doctor inspired, affinity We'll be back

Our server Kelly was so helpful telling me about the veggie special of summer squash parmesan sandwich which was delicious. My hubby had a burger which he said was excellent as were the fries. I first heard of Country Girl after watching Chronicle approx. 2 year ago. The whole experience was awesome! We ordered drinks immediately after taking our seats at the counter. I had a pepsi and I had to order a vanilla milk shake to go! My wife had water and coffee. We wanted to get our order in because we felt like the staff was nice enough to let us in that we didn't want to stall them from getting out at closing. My wife had grilled cheese with tomato soup. I had a burger with fries. My wife was thrilled with the soup. She said it was the best tomato soup she has had in a long time! My fries were excellent. home made and tasty! You can see in the pictures that the diner is set up with booths and a counter top. I am told that they are busy year round. I can see why because the food and service is fabulous. The staff was so nice and welcoming! Price: fair Parking: plenty of parking in the lot Vibe: great music...welcoming Would I come back again? Yes, I would love to visit in the summer on a beautiful warm day! 5-stars!
