Excellent food and spirits in a wonderful atmosphere. The Jazz Collective is outstanding. What a fantastic way to spend a Thursday evening alone or with friends!!

Precious few lunch places open for lunch on Tuesday in Middlebury so I took a chance on Morgan's. Service was courteous if not terribly attentive. I was asked if I had a reservation (as were others and a few did) but there were plenty of open tables. My Tom Collins was watery. The French onion soup tasted burnt although its pesto crostini was fairly tasty. The menu online has a croque monsieur listed, so I had my heart set on that. But it was apparently not up to date. I ordered the chicken and fig sandwich instead. The chicken was incredibly dry. The ciabatta stale. The fig spread way too thick and pasty. I ate less than half the sandwich. The onion rings were okay and I was appreciative they were able to provide a truffle aioli for them. Ambiance is charming and semi historic. It's a nice setting on the green, too bad the food was so forgettable.

Excellent service and the food was delicious. Although I am from out of town, I hope to come back again. I also loved the live music.

Two Brothers was the choice from the desk so we went with it and so glad we did. Place looked pretty busy, bar was full, we were seated pretty much right away. The menu is smaller (perfect amount of items , hate too many choices) but done well. We love doing shareable so we can try a bunch of different things. The mussels were the absolute show stopper here, different than most. Tequila, spicy, little bits of sausage, (i would have drank the broth or made this a soup it was so good) The Poutine was different than I was used to, it was our least favorite but still ok. This is just a personal preference but I'm used to being smothered in gravy, it was almost non existent. It's like the ere was a ladle on the bottom and fries on top so didn't get a lot of it. The street corn dip was really good, much different than others I've had as well but in a really good way. It was hearty with lots of corn, had some nice spice to it. We also had (not pictured) French onion soup, loved it, nice peppery, piping hot. The cheddar ale soup, best I've had, literally you can taste all the components of this, rich, thick, creamy, sharp cheddar with a hint of the ale in the background. For dessert we took the donut holes to go, the colors dip was amazing, the chocolate looked like it was seized up a bit, we also ate this a little later so it could have been us and not from then. This looks like a super fun place to belly up at the bar, it has the hometown feel , we are already planning a stop on our drive back later this week!

The restaurant was built around a 1921 Hacker Craft wooden boat, beautifully restored by friends of mine at Morgan Marine in Silver Bay, NY. The boat used to house an actual salad bar, pre-Covid. Now it's just a beautifully appointed mahogany boat in a big room just past the hostess station. The rest of F&I is a series of small and large rooms, some very intimate. There are artifacts everywhere (that you need to explore). Recently visited w best friend, Locomotive Breath (formerly known as Zagbolt). Sat at the bar. Seemingly lots of locals. Very capably waited on by bartender Andre. He was effective, efficient, and gregarious. Perfect young man for the job. We split a dozen wings (one of the specials which were smothered in an orange, peppery glaze). Delicious! I also had a cheeseburger w bacon. Perfectly broiled on a substantial bun. And onion rings. Plentiful. LB had a mesquite chicken panini w mashed. He loved it. Large selection of tapped and bottled beer, wine, alcohol of all kinds. One thing that kind of caught my attention was another patron's prime rib. Very fatty, on the thin side, $39. Did not think it was a good presentation or value. F&I is still one of the best restaurants around. Museum-like, and good food. Curtailed hours compared to years past, and looking for help (of all kinds). 4 stars

Despite having a reservation, we waited 90 minutes for our meals. When the food finally arrived, it came out in waves about 10 minutes apart. By the time one end of the table received their meals, the other end had already finished eating. Our appetizer was delivered at the same time as our entrées and had clearly been sitting under a heat lamp. It was dried out and tasted of old oil. Our waitress appeared overwhelmed and received no visible support from management. We were not offered drink refills, and we were never asked if everything was satisfactory. The child in our group was served a burnt grilled cheese sandwich that required scraping off the charred portions just to make it edible. It was also made with rye bread and unmelted shredded cheese -- neither of which were indicated on the children's menu. After 2.5 hours, when we requested the check, we were told they could not separate it -- despite having informed the waitress at the beginning of the evening whose tabs were grouped together. We have hosted family events there before and have never encountered this policy. It was not posted or communicated to us in advance. As someone who has worked in customer service and management for over 30 years, I understand how challenging the industry can be. However, communication, organization, and support from management are essential if you expect guests to return. Unfortunately, this experience did not reflect that standard. We will be choosing to celebrate our family gatherings elsewhere in the future.

You order first then find a table but if it's busy find a table first then order if someone can order while the other waits. We ordered the chicken and the egg sandwich, wagu beef sandwich side of fries and faro salad. I was mistakenly charged for 2 chicken sandwiches ( waiting for credit to post ) but regardless it's nyc prices. Bill came to $70+ which is expensive. The food was excellent but for $18 you would think you would get at least one side ( fries or salad) for that price. The fries are $7 which again it's not a big town but charge high prices. It was a Monday lunch time service and our food took about 30 minutes to arrive which is long - I think they were overwhelmed and the staff was small - which is why it took so long.
