I usually trust my fellow Yelpers' reviews. If I'd seen the rating of Mister Ups, I wouldn't have gone there. Luckily, my friend took me there. When the waitress put the Chicken Condon Bleu sandwich in front of me, it smelled DELICIOUS. And it tasted as good as it smelled. My friend order a Black Flannel Disco Montage IPA, and I asked for a sip. It is now my all-time favorite beer. Unfortunately, I can't get it here in Louisiana. :-(

Don't judge a restaurant by the front door. Inside lies an inviting dining area, lively bar, and great patio overlooking Otter Creek. The inside has changed very little since my last visit 15 years ago, but the outdoor space has been nicely expanded. The Cross Street bridge sounds like the occasional rumble of thunder, but really not noticeable even at rush hour. I'm not sure why the other reviews aren't better; the food is about what you'd expect, the beer list is respectable with good specials, and a solid kid's menu. Love this place!

Came from out of town. Stopped by here for lunch. Service took a while but the view and vibes were very nice. Food is standard. Best part of eating here is being with the valedictorian and local legend best premed of 2019 for UVM.

Driving by Vermont on our way to NH and stumbled upon this place and it didn't disappoint. Shared a Caesar salad and that was good and for dinner, we both had the seasoned New York strip steak, medium rare and it was amazing!! Tasted like the Korean marinade. I actually wanted it again the next day. What a great find! Service was friendly and attentive, nice, quiet ambiance for a weekend dinner.

Phenomenal food options, excellent and friendly service and local bar/pub food in the small Collegetown of Middlebury, Vermont. I had the Smashburger with lettuce, tomato, pickles and their signature sauce! Awesome freshness, quality, and seasoning/ sauce on the burger. Furthermore, the plated presentation with the colossal burger also included a large side of fresh house French fries! Thank you to my servers Mary and Aly for their professionalism, attention to detail, kindness, and overall nicely paced food and drink service! You guys are fantastic!

Visited this place from Ohio. This place was recommended by coach from Middlebury college . This was a very first stop for us after a very long drive. Very rude owner or manager women. Surprise how they still stay in business. Not a good first impression of the city because of first experience with local business. Now I reconsider sending my kid to Middlebury college because I do not want my kid deal with and live around rude people. If we were not very hungry and did not ordered food already, I would walk away and never come back here again. This place made me feel unwelcome and they really don't care how you feel about them. I feel like a nuisance to them. Never again. Long wait for food.

I was visiting Vermont on a bus trip and we stopped for lunch in Middlebury. I'm glad we picked here for lunch. They seated us on the deck overlooking the river. It was very pleasant. Our waitress was upbeat and very accommodating. I shared a Reuben sandwich with my friend. It was very tasty and the fries were seasoned and crispy. The draft beer menu was very good with many local beers. The draft beer price was excellent at 6.00 for 16 ounces. We shared the mud pie for desert. It was a very pleasant experience and I would go again if in the area.

I saw mice behind the bar in this place. The bartender was incredibly slow and had a hard time making a mixed drink.

Two Brothers was the choice from the desk so we went with it and so glad we did. Place looked pretty busy, bar was full, we were seated pretty much right away. The menu is smaller (perfect amount of items , hate too many choices) but done well. We love doing shareable so we can try a bunch of different things. The mussels were the absolute show stopper here, different than most. Tequila, spicy, little bits of sausage, (i would have drank the broth or made this a soup it was so good) The Poutine was different than I was used to, it was our least favorite but still ok. This is just a personal preference but I'm used to being smothered in gravy, it was almost non existent. It's like the ere was a ladle on the bottom and fries on top so didn't get a lot of it. The street corn dip was really good, much different than others I've had as well but in a really good way. It was hearty with lots of corn, had some nice spice to it. We also had (not pictured) French onion soup, loved it, nice peppery, piping hot. The cheddar ale soup, best I've had, literally you can taste all the components of this, rich, thick, creamy, sharp cheddar with a hint of the ale in the background. For dessert we took the donut holes to go, the colors dip was amazing, the chocolate looked like it was seized up a bit, we also ate this a little later so it could have been us and not from then. This looks like a super fun place to belly up at the bar, it has the hometown feel , we are already planning a stop on our drive back later this week!

Super thinly sliced and a big let down. My Middlebury cut was great. For the price of the English cut I should have sent it back. The restaurant has been around for more than half a century and has an eclectic decor with walls covered in black and white photos, hundred year old Hackercraft motorboat, biplane propellers, and wooden skis that likely were used to carve up Stowe and Killington. We started with a watermelon margarita and an extra dry Hendricks Gibson up. The drinks were perfectly chilled and hit the spot after a long day touring Fort Ticonderoga. We were told that their prime rib was the belle of the Fire & Ice ball so we made that our dinner. Roasted slowly overnight, the meat is perfectly medium rare inside with a delectable crust. Served with a range of sides and a generous dollop of freshly grated horseradish, we could not have been more pleased with the quality and quantity of the prime rib. They have an interesting dessert cart but, after 40 ounces of delicious prime rib, we gave the sweet course a miss. Fire & Ice is a compelling option for those spending time in Middlebury. We highly recommend this venue.

While the restaurant was mostly full, we did not have to wait to be seated. Unfortunately they don't serve breakfast after 12 so only lunch/dinner items were available except for a breakfast buffet which the server advised would be available for only another 45 minutes. I looked at the small buffet menu showing what was available on today's buffet: sausage links, bacon, corned beef, sausage gravy, pastries, fruit, French toast sticks, and ham and cheese omelets and since nothing really appealed to any of us we decided we would pass on the buffet however when the server came to get our drink orders she advised us that if we wanted to order off the menu it would take 50 minutes to an hour to get our food. We asked if we got an appetizer in addition to the food if that would at least come out sooner so we could snack on something while we waited but she said probably not so we all went for the buffet. I so wished I hadn't. The sausage links and bacon were to be expected but the corned beef hash was definitely the canned variety that looks more like cat food than human food and since it wasn't cooked crisp, it was just a soggy mess. The fruit was the standard cantalope and melon but weren't really very flavor able. The sausage gravy was decent and had lots of sausage in it but the biscuits were small, cold, and hard. I'm not an omelette person usually but this one was kind of strange. Instead of small individual omelettes, they were large rolled or possibly folded eggs, with diced ham and melted cheddar then sliced in sections so it kind of resembled a Stromboli bread with eggs instead of bread and judging by by the consistency and texture, the eggs must be pre-mixed eggs in a carton. I was not a fan. The French toast sticks were ok. Nothing great but it the worst item on the Buffett. The one really good item on the buffet was the blueberry muffin. Which was packed full of large, real blueberries. I ate two of those. Service was ok, our server was nice and polite and refilled our drinks when we asked but the cashier had little or no personality. He never asked how our meal was or said have a great day or even said thank you.
