Oysters, Oysters, Oysters. We rolled in after attending a fall festival down the road aways. We hadn't been here in quite some time, so we were looking forward to coming back. It was great! We went with oysters and a pretzel. The pretzel was great! The oysters were awesome. The staff knew their stuff and our server was able to give us recommendations based on what we liked. Service was excellent, wonderful selection of beers and my wife had the wine she likes. The inside of the tavern is really cool. It's an older building and they really kept the character. The tavern has all high top tables and a bar. Added bonus; a Porsche Club gathering came in after we arrived, so there was a nice impromptu car show in the parking lot as we walked out. read more

I love this place. We went twice in the same week (something I rarely do when traveling). It's straight out of a movie or a Norman Rockwell painting ... everything you want a cozy Vermont inn to be. The service is very friendly, but still quite professional. We went for the seafood platter, which was top-notch and a bargain considering the quality. Be aware that the platter changes not only daily, but sometimes during the day, depending on what is available. But fret not ... whatever they substitute is still excellent. read more

Very quaint place with rustic decor. They have a bar section and dinning room. We sat at the bar area with us party of 5. Nice choice of tap beers from local breweries and fancy cocktails. They also have great selection of fresh oysters which ranges from $2-4 each. We got a dozen oysters with 4 different types of oysters, they were sooooo good!! Too bad the price is steep, we would've ordered another round. The menu is classy and offered wide range of flavors. They also have kids menu, which is nice. We ordered the tavern burger, lobster ravioli, and a bowl of NE clam chowder with a side of mashed potatoes. Everything was cooked to perfection and we thoroughly enjoyed every bite. They also had live music on a Monday night, which was lovely. Definitely a hidden gem, but be prepared to drop some $$. P.S. there's a 3% credit card fee so better to pay with cash. read more

I had a great time at the Tavern. It was cozy and inviting. The bartender was friendly, warm, and a ton of fun.... Who knew he was also a skilled balloon "sculptor"! I had delicious oysters, salad, fresh Bavarian pretzel. Cocktails were spot on. read more

It was very packed when we went on Saturday night. Being that they don't take reservations give yourself some extra time., We waited at the bar while we waited. The clam chowder was highly recommended and was very good., Everyone enjoyed their dishes from burgers , to oysters . Service was quick and is a very cosy tavern ambiance. Trying to escape a late June heat wave, we headed to Mt Snow. Being offseason and a Monday night we were pleased to find the 1846 Tavern open. Apparently a local hangout. We ordered a variety of apps and Sami plates off the menu. Everything was well prepared. I was impressed with th oysters being properly shucked (didn't have to loosen them from the shell). Heard only great things about 1846 so I was so excited to check it out while in town. It's a cozy bar/tavern with lots of high tops and tables and even a fireplace (that I had my eye on nearly the entire time). Perfect for groups, drinks, dinners, all of it. We grabbed a high top and quickly put in an order for a dozen oysters and a Moscow Mule. Oof, this combo hit the spot. We got a variety and they were fresh and delicious, I could have gotten a dozen more. Everything else we tried and loved: -The salmon BLT -Soup of the day was chicken dumpling -The poke bowl On a crazy rainy day, all I wanted was a bowl of soup and the chicken and dumpling was so good and filling. The salmon BLT was probably the crowd favorite with the all of the flavor from the bacon, veggies, salmon and whatever spread it was on. The poke bowl was so tasty! But for about $24 it was tiny and def an appetizer. Would recommend to anyone looking for great food and drinks in the area. read more

My wife and I have seen this tavern on Facebook for several weeks. It promotes their fresh shucked oysters. We tried it a few nights ago. The gentleman who met us at the door, Tom, was exceptional. He absolutely had a greeting personality and knew everything about the menu items. They had 4 different types of oysters. I tried one of each as a trial to see what I would like in my main meal. He was more than accommodating. I opted for the seafood array. Picture included. My wife got the kale salad which was awesome and enough to share for two. She also had the lobster ravioli which said was very good. It comes fresh made from Boston. My seafood array was just as advertised. The oysters are a touch on the small side. The clams are definitely on the petite level. The lump crab meat was perfect. The shrimp (large) were very good. They do provide all the accoutrements that are appropriate for the dinner served. We would likely return since Tom was so accommodating. read more

Love the vibe here! Friendly owner, our server Molly was nice, live music was great, felt like we were back in Ireland! Enjoyed some oysters, scallops, salmon sashimi and a couple of pints. Learned that the owners knew the folks who ran the Baseball Tavern in Back Bay (Boston) and that's how they ended up getting the scoreboard that now lines the parking lot out back. This tavern served up very decent food! Hubby and I came in for some light bites during snowboarding trip at Mount Snow. Inside is charming and inviting, service was good. We got a Large Soft Pretzel to share, the New England Clam Chowder was good. Also got a Caesar salad, and the Crispy Fried Brussels Sprouts were super delicious. Ambiance was cozy homey tavern. We sat in the bar area and a football game was playing. Service was fast and courteous. Food...well as an American living abroad, I save my burgers for the USA. This was by far the best tasting burger I have eaten in 20 years. Everything from the perfectly seasoned and cooked meat right through to the delicious bun. A few nights later when I was in the next town on our trip I met a guy in our hotel who said the same exact thing. Probably like a 4.5 stars. This place delivers good value for a touristy area. We had a burger (likely a half pounder) and a clam chowder (a good size bowl) for lunch for the two of us. Burger was cooked to perfection in the heat temperature as ordered. The bites were juicy but not fatty. The soup is plentiful and tastes as good as any from the New England. Service was good. The wait was a bit long but it wasn't terrible. read more
