My wife and I recently stopped for dinner at Johnny Seesaw's on the way back from a visit to Dartmouth. I quickly had a Déjà vu flash dining here. In the mountains of Vermont, in a very well appointed, pretty rustic restaurant this upscale Italian venue served impressive offerings of most food I could not pronounce, but which featured fresh delicious sounding ingredients. While we were there on a Tuesday and the vaunted Prime Rib I had heard about was not available the only other steak offering was a 40 ounce Porterhouse for $120.00. Not a reality. I did order a delicious scallop dinner and my wife had duck which she enjoyed. The dinners featured 5 scallops a few baby asparagus stalks and what appeared to be a potato chip. The duck was that with what appeared to be polenta. Tasty but sparse. Had there been perhaps a bread service or side salad included with the meal we would probably have left the restaurant satisfied instead of hungry. The food was delicious, beautifully plated, served efficiently and pleasantly and just as with NYC dining, at an impressive price. This is a fine restaurant. I recommend having a good lunch if you go here for dinner. I would happily rate this as a five star experience except when I left, I was hungry and that is not right.

I got that and my daughter got the baguette bread with butters. Both were excellent. She said the garlic butter was just delightful. I got the petite fillet with crab meat and shrimp cooked, medium rare. It came out perfect. The mashed potatoes were delicious and grilled asparagus was cooked perfectly with a nice seasoning. My daughter got the chicken Parm over fresh ravioli with a vodka sauce. She said it was excellent. There was gluten-free cheesecake on the dessert menu but when I ordered it, the the waitress said they had a different cheesecake that evening that was not gluten-free. Only one entrance way with a waitress who asked the mandatory health questions and then seated us. Besides drinking copious amounts of water, we began our lunch with a really good Second Fiddle local IPA from Fiddlehead Brewery, a dryer, double IPA that I found superb. Next were the chicken pot stickers, also tasty and just enough appetizer food for two. The main course for me was the chicken Spiede, a creation import from Binghamton. This was one tasty and saucy creation. My other half had the Blackline Burger which was amazing The overall visit was superb.
