Chicken parm
Jennie S.

This place was awesome. We came here right after skiing and the server was super quick and friendly. Everything was really delicious and to our liking. I got the mushroom and Swiss cheeseburger. It was awesome and somebody else got the chicken Parmesan dinner. We are from New York and they said that this was the best chicken Parmesan they've ever had. You could tell there was a lot of other people who came here right after skiing, so the vibe is very relaxed kind of like a pub and eatery.

Lots of TVs with different football games on, great sandwiches, a nice variety of beers on tap and Erika behind the bar makes the Valley View Saloon one of the best places to spend a Sunday afternoon in the valley.

We just randomly stopped by on a Friday night over the summer for dinner and I was surprised to see how lively it was! The staff was super friendly and we were able to be seated pretty quickly. From this restaurant, we ordered buffalo wings, fish and chips, and the BLT. We really enjoyed this meal. The wings were meaty with a good amount of sauce on them. The fish and chips came with a large piece of breaded fish and was one of the best fish and chips i've ever tired. usually i'm not too excited about eating the fish but the way it was fried was perfect. The BLT was delicious and came on homemade bread that was very well done. Really enjoyed our dinner at Valley View Saloon. if we are in the area again, would definitely stop by here.

Amazing burger! I got the Black and Bleu burger, it was delish! Food came out fast and we had great service. Even though it is an off season so there is less staff, they still served with a smile, were timely, and worked well as a team.

Great Place to go after a long day of Snowboarding! My Fiancé and I went snowboarding at Mount Snow and this Saloon was 5 mins away from the mountain. We ordered Nachos for our appetizer. I could tell why this was a menu favorite. Not a chip was bare. It was packed with flavor and toppings. I love how they layer the plate with cheese first, then put chips in it. That is really how nachos are done right. For our main course, we both ordered the Wester Burger which was also a menu favorite. You really can't go wrong with the favorites. The Sauce and onion rings on the burger was amazing! I'm was so glad I ordered this. The meat was juicy and the buns were so soft. I highly recommend this Saloon!

Switchback ale. Cheers!

The beer selection is well pretty wide. All craft or micro beers most from New England but a few further afield. If you are a sour beer fan this place is for you . It would be like a Christmas any month of the year. I am not a sour beer fan, in fact I really detest them. But if you like them, you will in a very happy place here. I had the Stone Corral Oktoberfest (Richmond Vermont). It was a pretty fine take on a . Marzen style ale. We shared a pretzel and the cheese board. The pretzel was your typical enormous soft pretzel. This one was just at should be fresh, slight chewy crust and soft inside. The Dijon mustard dip was good. The cheese board was huge enough for two for a lunch . A Brie like cheese, a pungent delicious blue cheese and a smooth but distinct hard cheese as well as a nice fruit jam , some slices of salami and actual fresh green grapes . Good service and pleasant staff. I didn't have them but the oysters look good and the prices for oysters on the half were quite reasonable

This is not the case here - all of the food we had was made in house, and you could taste the difference. The beer battered fries had a thin flaky coating that made them irresistible. The buffalo calamari was cooked perfectly, piled up, and topped with blue cheese crumbles and green onion. Don't even get us started on the boneless wings... also, the ranch and blue cheese dip were out of this world. Guess what? HOME MADE. We came here to watch a Sabres game, since we heard there were a ton of TVs to watch the games. And we ended up being surprised with a fantastic dinner and great service. What a great night.

Honestly, they had a ton of potential, but they didn't deliver. The calamari was soggy instead of crispy. The balance of other items was pretty off. It looked pretty, but didn't taste good. The calamari was bitter in addition to being soggy. The balsamic glaze added a sweetness, but it wasn't offset by enough salty/spicy. It was served with a tomato sauce that didn't go well with the toppings. It was an odd dish. If it wasn't so late, I might have actually sent it back (which I do probably once every 10 years). Fresher, crispy and less bitter calamari might have been enough to fix the balance. My dinner companion had a sandwich with a bun, lettuce, apple slice, fried chicken, cheese, and bacon. I think it might have been a special. It was ok. It came with Saratoga chips, which is why we picked the restaurant. We wanted to get Saratoga chips in Saratoga. Unfortunately, they were hard and cold and bland. Lots of TVs. Service was meh. I felt like they were put out for serving us. There's a good bar vibe. If I were to eat there again, I would go for beer and wings.

The old tavern feel and decorations were nice. And to look outside, you can imagine the feel when the snow starts to fall. For lunch we ordered the tomato soup and the onion soup. The only one that was working was at the bar. I wish she had placed us closer to the bar section before putting us in the very back with no air flow. Too bad they didn't have outside seating because it would have a lovely evening to dine outside. I was determined to have some clam chowder while in Vermont. The one here was too salty. It also had bacon bits which probably added to the salt content. For my entree, I ordered the chicken piccata. Again, I thought the dish was too salty. But I will say that my plate was filled with a large portion of the chicken, mashed potatoes, and vegetables. I'm not sure whether it was the large size of my meal or the fact that I was too warm to finish. So we took the remainder back to the hotel for another day. He ordered the ribeye and it too was a large portion that he did not finish. The meat was perfectly cooked with juices. We would have loved to linger as our evening was coming to a close and we had no other plans but after hearing other customers say it was too warm in the restaurant, we decided to head back to the hotel early. Service was wonderful though.

Mainly attributable to SERVICE which was HORRIFYING!! Ambiance was charming home setting outdoors and rustic wood vibe indoors. The food was average/iffy. Garlic peppercorn steak was encrusted with a layer of seasoning and yet it wasn't that seasoned in terms of flavor, was just ok. Ordered medium and yet it looked black on the outside and medium rare inside and beyond tough - I could not even cut the steak, I ended up just ended eating the whole thing straight up. So strange and not worth $30 at all. The Idaho skins were good just wish the potatoes were crispier. The signature applewood smoked wings were so overpriced and terrible. I could not taste any flavor, it tasted like boiled wings expensive 6 for $18. The worst part: service, or rather lack thereof.!! Upon entering, we waited awhile for someone to come greet and seat us and seemed to judge us when we clarifying what tavern was when we were asked if we wanted tavern or dining room. We were seated and took a LONG time until finally our server came to take our order. Then took an even longer time to get our food almost 20minutes. The other table that got seated after us the order the same wings at the same time, got their food 10 minutes earlier than us and their server was present throughout the meal . Ours just was nowhere to be seen throughout the entire time. Finally the food came, we ate quick, and asked for the check. We couldn't even find our server to get the check! The other table has already gotten the check and signing the bill. We then got up and tried to flag down our waiter to for the check and takeout box and after a long time she gave them but disappeared again for a long time so we tried to flag her down, again, so we could actually pay. When we did, she rudely said "do you see the things im carrying? can you wait?" Mind you, we have been waiting for nearly another 20 minutes after we finished eating for any appearance from the waiter. We tried asking the other waiter who was actually present if we could but said we needed to get our actual server. We finally finished the whole transaction (20min waiting for food, 20min spent flagging down the waiter for the check/giving the money), and frustrated we wasted so much time here while on a trip for just OK food, we just left because the server then disappeared AGAIN after settling our bill. Hilariously enough, the only time she seemed to care about us was when we left and she went RUNNING after us to ask us "you did not tip enough, did I do something wrong?" in a rude and fake overly concerned way. After we briefly explained, she proceeds to loudly shame us saying "you supposed to tip me xyz because I provide you a service and if not you're really disrespectful". The audacity. Service was beyond horrible!!! and still demanding higher tips calling customers disrespectful when we did nothing but wait and get yelled at by her for not waiting even longer and still needing to directly pay her extra tips. During that scolding we got, we saw her name tag: Avery. Overall: Foods ok. LONG WAIT for food and check. Horrifying service by one server: Avery. Perhaps other servers were better like the one who took care of the table who sat down at the same time and left 20 minutes earlier meanwhile our service was way slower, not as friendly, demanding tips, and public scolds/shames customers for it. This experience totally soured my impression of this place and now I'm questioning why people even recommended this place to me and why I went along with it!

After being seated, we waited about 10 minutes before our server arrived--she was actually very pleasant--but unfortunately things didn't improve from there. After placing our drink order, we waited 25 minutes and never received it. During that time, multiple staff members walked by, glanced at our table, and kept going without checking in. We ultimately decided to leave. To make matters worse, the server attending the table next to us had about as much warmth as a block of ice, which didn't help the overall atmosphere. Really unpleasant
