Outstanding Experience at Kipling's Tavern in Brattleboro, VT! We had an absolutely amazing time at Kipling's Tavern! From start to finish, everything was a 10 out of 10 -- atmosphere, meal, and service. Brian was fantastic -- friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. The calamari was perfectly crispy and delicious (coming from a RI local). The French onion grilled cheese with gruyere was downright outstanding -- rich, melty, and full of flavor. The mix BBQ was top-notch, and the mac & cheese was pure comfort food perfection. The vibe inside is warm and inviting, with just the right mix of cozy and lively. We'll gladly make the trip back from Rhode Island for this gem -- totally worth it! Highly recommend Kipling's Tavern -- Brattleboro is lucky to have this place!

We have been traveling in New England to visit my family. This was the best meal we had during this trip! I had rigatoni alla vodka with shrimp. My wife had the appetizer special which was a caprese salad on toast. The food was delicious and our waiter Lucas was outstanding! The ambiance of this pub is perfect

Really fantastic local restaurant! Staff was super friendly and there's plenty of parking to boot! (There's a parking garage next door with really affordable rates as well as street metered parking). This place was so good we stopped by twice! Here's what we ordered (as of 9/2023): - Spicy Rhode Island Calamari - $15: Pretty good standard fare. If you've had fried calamari then you've had this. Just wish the portion size was larger! - Crab Cakes - $16: Great flavor and a great portion for the price! Would definitely recommend this one. - Boozer Burger - $17: Fantastic burger. Cooked to perfection and the brioche really helps bringing it together. Fries were crisp. - Spicy Korean Fried Chicken - $17: If you LOVE gochujang then you'll love this. For us it was decent. I wish they used chicken thigh instead of the breast as the juiciness of the thigh would really help cut the spice of the gochujang. - Pastrami Reuben - $16: Pastrami was perfectly warmed and paired well with their sauerkraut and dressing. For $16 + fries (in my case a Caesar salad) I think it's a great value. - New England Clam Chowder (special of the night) - $6 for a cup (I think?): Really creamy and delicious. Plenty of clams in here to satisfy any chowder lover. - Bolognaise pasta (special of the night) - $26: Really enjoyed this special. The pasta was fresh and really held the sauce well. It is pricy but if you like Bolognaise then this is a must try! Overall we really enjoyed our time here and would love to visit again next time we're in the area!

    Reuben sandwich and Cesar salad

This was the best Reuben sandwich I've ever had! The pastrami was perfectly balanced. The Vermont cheese made it extra special. The accompanying Caesar salad and Manhattan cocktail from the bar made for a great meal. The service was friendly and expert.

My daughter and I got great service from owner Brian.

Just the kind of place we wanted. Dark and cozy. The chicken wings stood out as a highlight. And the burgers were everything we hoped.

Our group of seven was seated right away thanks to our reservation, but the wait for both drinks and food was on the longer side. Our server apologized multiple times, which we appreciated, and we passed the time playing phone games with the kids to keep them busy. The pierogies were a highlight, with a nicely crispy exterior and a creamy filling, and the shoestring fries came out salty and crunchy. My chicken cordon bleu sandwich, though, didn't really live up to the name, and the side salad was pretty plain with just a basic vinaigrette. My wife's grilled cheese with fried chicken strips also seemed a bit undercooked, and the chicken had a slightly rubbery texture. Overall it wasn't our best dining experience, but the atmosphere inside is very nice and the staff themselves are kind.

What used to be a sketchy area is now filled with boutique shops, bustling businesses of tech and industry, arts, culture, and restaurants. One such upscale craft cocktail bar is Wolf Tree. If you didn't know it, you might feel as if you'd stepped into a hipster cocktail lounge in Brooklyn as you walk into Wolf Tree. They offer a variety of playful and inventive drinks. My friend was able to get a virgin cocktail but I just wish they had more than one single cocktail on the menu with vodka. With my choices somewhat limited, I went with a drink called "Friday I'm In Love": vodka, citrus, strawberry, mint, and bubbles. It looked beautiful when it arrived to the table and was a palate pleaser with sour, sweet, and minty flavors. They have weekly specials, classic-type cocktails, and what they call "happy meals" - a beer and shot combination. Don't fear, though, they still have Budweiser, Bud Lite, Miller High Life, and other draft beers for those feeling more traditional Upper Valley. We also ordered one of their charcuterie boards that featured local selections of cheese and meats, olives, pickled vegetables, cured mustards, and a baguette. A great selection but like most of Wolf Tree, a little on the expensive side. Overall I enjoyed my first trip to Wolf Tree and I'm glad hip places like this exist in the Upper Valley.

The cheese fondue was substantial, served with bread, apples, cornichons, cocktail onions, chunks of ham, two different kinds of sausages and assorted potatoes, all gorgeously presented on wooden slab. The French onion soup, which we shared as an appetizer was also delicious. Great wine and my fiancé sampled the Vermonter cocktail, a potent concoction of bourbon, sweet vermouth and angostura bitters. Very strong and flavorful! We finished the evening with a slice of apple strudel, complete with a sparkler candle for my belated birthday. Great presentation! The decor and atmosphere here is stunning with fur throws over the seat backs, roses, candlelight and Alpine themes like antler wall sconces. Bathrooms were very clean and decorated with cute retro skiing photos. After we praised the fondue as exceptional, our server offered to bring out the owner so we could meet her. Our whole experience here was very strong until the end of our meal when then service slowed down, which the server explained was due to a large party upstairs, so it took awhile for us to get our dessert. Not a huge deal. While the owner was great to chat with, she then asked if we wanted to enjoy our dessert at the bar so they could seat a larger party using our table and the one next to us (awkward, especially after spending over $200 on dinner, no thanks). Also, we did not appreciate the 2.5 "operational fee" added to our check! Were it not for these last two points, this would have been a five star review because the atmosphere, food and drinks were great!

We were greeted warmly by the hostess and seated right away. They don't have a kid's menu, but they have plenty of kid friendly food to choose from. I love how the dinning area has stone wall and chairs with white fur on them. Great romanic place for dates or special occasions. There were 5 of us and we ordered the pork schnitzel which was perfectly pan fried and seasoned ($36). The ham and cheese crepe was $22, small but very good... I was still left hungry so we also ordered the beet spatzel ($18), it came in a bowl with goat cheese , so good. The chicken entree(forgot the name) was big enough to share by my kids. It was cooked with skin on, which I prefer, crispy skin and tender meat, sooooo good. It was supposed to come with parsnip puree but they were nice enough to sub it with mashed potatoes for my kids. It was devoured! We also shared 2 deserts: apple strudel and bread pudding. They were good, but not the best we've had... For $16 each, maybe this can be skipped. But overall, great meal! Oh forgot to mention they have an apple schnapps shot for $5 that comes in a little Dasboot shot glass. So yummy!! A must try!

We did stop at The Marina to eat but stood at the host desk waiting for someone to greet us for 10 minutes and we just kept being ignored by servers walking thru so we decided to walk out of The Marina and keep going. (Note to self, make Mondays in Vermont for driving, or nature, & less to-do activities). At Bar 580 a really friendly bartender/server made for a very welcoming experience. Sorry I didn't catch his name. The menu had a lot of burgers and sandwiches and salads.
