Otto's is a treasure in Keene, NH! Amazing and delicious food options, great wines and cocktails, and super nice owners and service staff. I had the duck breast(medium rare), which came with perfectly cooked broccoli and a delicious risotto. There was also a sweet sauce, but I'm not sure what it was. The restaurant is located left and up from Stage restaurant, right off the Keene main square. Special thanks to cocktail wizard Erika(sp?) for making the best Smoky Garden Gimlet w/ orange twist I've ever had. She has cocktail super powers, so be sure to ask her for something unique. read more

We stopped by to check out their half price oysters on Thursday nights. I'm not a fan of raw but husband likes them. We both had duck, his was roasted served with risotto and I had the house Ragu, which was delicious. I started off with their celeriac and apple salad, which was not overdressed. I enjoyed my meal with the smoke and sage cocktail. The service was excellent and the food delicious. We'll definitely be back. It's a nice space . read more

First time at Otto's, and it was a very pleasant lunch experience. the crab corn chowder was thick and delicious and my husband's fish 'n chips was really good. The chips (fries) were the best we've ever tasted (other than my husbands's homemade fries). Really nice experience. read more

Opened on March 6, 2025, Otto's Food & Drink is a family owned restaurant & bar in Downtown Keene, which is named after Otto, who is the 10 year old son of the owners. Formerly Machina Kitchen & Artbar, Otto's Food & Drink has 2 dining rooms with table seating including a full service bar with seating. Last minute, I stopped by Otto's for dinner around 5:45pm. The place was almost booked for table reservations and I decided to sit up at the bar in the next room where there was ample open seats. I was given food and drink menus and offered a drink (got ice water). The food is prepared in a scratch kitchen and the curated menu offerings were influenced by "Otto" including starters, salads, entrees, and desserts. Some of the food offerings include crushed potatoes, tuna crudo, beef & mushroom handpies, pork belly, seared scallops, oysters, charred radicchio, caesar salad, jagerschnitzel, petite tenderloin, roasted pear & watercress, pork chop, white clam linguine, fish n chip, seafood stew, hake, and Otto's burger. The prices are moderate high. The drink menu offers beer (12), wine list, and cocktails. For a starter, the Crushed Potatoes ($10 plus tax), a small bowl with hand crushed crispy potatoes, smoked bacon gravy, shaved ricotta salata. This was a great choice! For an entree, the Oven Roasted Hake ($27 plus tax) was nicely presented, a soft thick roasted hake filet topped with a berry jam over parmesan cream orzo with sweet peas, warm tomato vinaigrette. I took my time to enjoy each bite. For dessert, the Raspberry Lemon Panna Cotta ($9 plus tax) served chilled in a glass jar had a creamy lemon zest custard topped with fresh raspberries & leaf, not too sweet. After I was done, the check with Toast QR code was presented which was $49.91 with tax and before tip. Overall, Otto's Food & Drink in Keene proved to be a new gem in the downtown restaurant & bar scene. The service was prompt and food courses served in timely order. I will definitely have to return just to try the Jagerschnitzel, which was my other choice. As I was leaving, there was a line of customers waiting to be seated with some standing outside the door. Wanted to go out for a Saturday lunch. Not too many places open but this place was. Pleasantly surprised. Had the crab and corn chowder. Delicious. Same for the hot chicken sandwich. No draft beers but a good selection of canned beers. Prices reasonable. Definitely will go back again. read more

I ate at Otto's four times it was initially excellent and I gave it very positive review. I had lunch there with my wife a few Sundays ago and food was terrible. I ordered chicken with.Spaetzel and my wife ordered a salad with salmon. My chicken was overcooked so much that you couldn't cut it and the Spaetzel noodles must've been cooked a few times because they were burnt on the outside and soggy. My wife's salmon was the size of a small cell phone , and was raw on the inside it arrived on a few leaves of wilted Romain. She asked for it to be cooked a bit more and arrived back five minutes later just as raw. So food was terrible prices were pretty high and I probably won't go back. It may still be OK but my guess is that that's inconsistent. read more

We love the food at Otto's! So far we''ve had a few Italian entrees- the Bolognese and the tagliatelle- that punched well above their price point. And the fried fish is amazing too! The atmosphere is casual, the staff is young and personable (shoot out to Luke who makes a mean painkiller)- all around a great find. read more

The food is pretty good but not good enough to justify their prices and portion sizes. I've gotten a few meals here now and I don't think any that I've gotten have had more than 4 ounces of meat. The service also doesn't really justify the high prices either. Mediocre service at best. Also they have no draft beer. When you add all this together it really makes you wonder where they get off charging as much as they do. read more

We wanted to eat somewhere other than our regular stops. We got a reservation for an outside table. Nicole was our waitress, and she was great. Helped us pick some glasses of wine which were exactly what we were looking for. A special appetizer was Tuna Carpaccio. The fish was beautiful, sliced paper thin and served with a stone fruit dash and a mint and lemon dressed local watercress. It was a perfect light refreshing start to our meal. My wife and I both got the arctic char. It was perfectly cooked. The skin was absolutely spectacular ...crispy and well seasoned. A side of a crispy potato and pancetta cake was exactly as described. The asparagus were perfectly cooked. And the herb citrus sauce went together with everything. A perfect meal! If you live in the Keene area Ottos should be on your list. And if you are visiting the area, it will give you special meal which will be highlight of your visit. read more

This restaurant is a gem! Having celiac and trying to eat out with friends and family when you're from out-of-state is exhausting and frustrating - at best. To find the chef has celiac and everything was safely prepared and cooked - and so many options - was already exciting, but the food and service were fantastic to boot! And THE COCKTAILS - were an absolute journey for the taste buds. I'm so happy to have found my go-to spot when I'm in the area. 10/10 recommend, especially for celiacs! We were really excited to try this restaurant, the menu looked like it had a few interesting dishes. Unfortunately the flavors were not there. The corn and crab chowder soup should have been called potato soup with corn and some crab, plus the soup was under salted. My husband Eric and I escaped to Keene, NH for a few days from our busy lives in the Providence, RI area with our two Pugs. We chose Otto's for dinner on Thursday 09/04/25. We had the great fortune of meeting Katie, our server from open to close. She was just perfect for our celebratory dinner outdoors. We enjoyed a dozen oysters and had to order a second tray because they were amazing! We also ordered the octopus and the roasted golden beet salad. Both were delicious before our entrees- the Seared Duck Breast and the Jagerschnitzel. We were thrilled with our meals. While we are not dessert folks normally--the evening was going so well we ordered a special that night- a cheesecake with a candied sauce that was over- the- top yummy! Thank you to the bartender(didn't meet him), who surprised us with two Rusty Nail cocktails that were a perfect match and way to wrap up the evening.
