This was my first time here. We went after the lunch rush, and were told to seat ourselves. The waitress that we had was friendly and was also bartending. It seems like alot of the locals come here because many people came in to order a drink and chat a minute. Their was a corn hole game going on, that I think was sponsored by the restaurant, so most of the traffic while we were there was for appetizers and drinks that were carried outside. We ordered the pickle chips (fried), for an appetizer. I was really happy that they were chips and not spears. They were done perfectly and i though the portion size was good for an appetizer. I ordered the shepherds pie. My husband decided on the chicken and chips. I thought the shepherds pie was really good. The flavor was really good, and the layers of corn, hamburger, and potato were perfectl seasoned. The portion was pretty big and I honestly thought it would be to much; but we were really hungry and it was so good that I actually ate every last bit. I even stole a couple of my husbands fries! I really enjoyed our lunch here and would love to come back and try it again sometime. read more

Great lunch food. The burgers are fantastic and interesting. Good selection of beers on draft. And as a bonus you can watch small airplanes take off and land. Has a cool small town airport feel to it plus a local Irish pub feel. Interesting mix and I like it. The service was also very good and we didn't wait long for anything. read more

This business is in the same location where the Depot Street tavern was.. They are trying to have an Irish pub.. When my friend and I walked in, we were greeted by the owner that was drinking at the bar (bad sign #1). They really have not changed anything other than some green paint.. The menu seemed like your average pub fair.. We were having a couple of drinks and doing a takeout order for the family.. The waitress came over to the table fairly quick to take our drink order.. When she brought our beers back, there was something black floating in mine, so I asked her to get me another.. Which she did without question.. She checked out the new beer at the bar before bringing it to the table (I made a point of watching), so I assumed all was ok with it.. Well about half way through drinking it, there was more black crud in it.. I didn't bother returning it as I drank about half of it.. I just ordered a different beer.. that one was fine so I assume it was something in the tap handle or lines.. What we ordered a few things to sample a variety for us all to share; Rueben Sandwich with sweet potato fries. - the fries seemed like they were store bought frozen, and dumped in the fryer. Chicken wings - These were ok, but seemed more like what I would expect to get at a Chinese restaurant. Shepard's pie - My stepson said this was very good, I didn't try it though. Poutine - While I appreciate they were trying to put an Irish twist on a french classic, they failed miserably.. I don't think they even put any gravy on the fries. Chicken tenders - The best part of the meal.. Absolutely perfect seasoning, and not over cooked. Im only giving them 2 out of 5 stars because they should have been a lot better for service, and the food was barely mediocre.. Another complaint I have, is by the time we were leaving the bar was getting really busy (as I'd expect any new bar to be), but the owner was still occupying a bar stool drinking when patrons were looking for a place to sit.. If things do not change, I have little hope they will survive.. I sincerely hope however they do. Went for breakfast. Service was decent. We ordered a Spanish omlette and a sausage tomato and cheese omlette with on piece of French Toast for our little one. The food came out reasonably quick and it was hot. They forgot the sausage in my omlette but we're more than happy to replace it entirely I just opted to get some on the side no problem and they only charged us half because of the error. The coffee is a bit weak which hopefully will change. Overall the decor is nice and the food has potential (the Spanish omlette was quite good) and we are pretty excited about having a decent place locally to grab a good breakfast on the weekends. I had a breakfast burrito the first time I came in, and the vegetarian scramble the second time. The food just isn't very good. At first the server was attentive. After we got our first drink it went down hill from there. Multiple "specials" were not available we had to settle on an appetizer because they neglected to take their St. Patties day specials off the menu. We got served one round of drinks and then never got asked if we wanted another one until we were done our food. At that point we were ready to go. The bar tender had several drunk friends at the bar celebrating someones birthday and decided to pay more attention to them then the people ordering food and drinks. Multiple times she was at our end of he bar to change the TV channel or play music and never noticed all the empty drinks at that end. Seems like when the owners are away the bartenders will play. Ate here for the first time when my dad and his wife were in town, though I had been somewhat regularly when Karaoke was on Wednesdays. Solid pub menu, and the salad is actually fresh which is rare for a pub. Real corned beef in the reuben, and the steak and cheese was a surprise winner. A few weeks later, decided to go for brunch with my boyfriend and our friend. Breakfast was actually REALLY good, and I totally recommend it. If you're the kind of person that has to "work" for a breakfast out, go for a good hike (or snowshoe, depending on the time of year) in Fox Forest down the road first. The atmosphere is great, the food mediocre and the service terrible.Once we got the menu we were disappointed again. Nothing special and nothing truly Irish, for an Irish pub. Been coming here for a little over 5 years now and the service has ALWAYS been AMAZING! They don't have a drink menu but the bartenders can tell you what they can make and it will be DELICIOUS! I have done this a few times. No matter who is working they are ALWAYS friendly and HAPPY to do their jobs. Music is also always great. I have NOTHING negative to say about this place. Also AMAZING food. I've tried almist everything on the menu and ZERO complaints or ideas for improvement. I personally suggest the chicken tenders. I stopped in at the recommendation of a few people I know. I ordered my burger at 7:20pm, and it was not delivered to me until 8:05pm. Now I know cooking a burger takes time but 45 minutes??!! I ordered the Steakhouse burger, it comes with an Orion ring, Bacon, and BBQ sauce. My Bacon was so undercooked I first thought it was raw, the Onion ring was overcooked, just shy of being burnt to a crisp. The bar staff doesn't understand that cola products should be carbonated. All in all it is not even worth giving them another chance. McDonald's, and I detest fast food chains, has better food and better service. read more

My wife and I have been here dozen of times and have ALWAYS enjoyed the food. Sunday brunch was no different always good.. well until today. The new owner was behind the bar and also out of the floor serving. We came in and found a table. I know she saw us but we must have sat there for 10 minutes being ignored. Some people cleared from the bar so we moved there, only to be ignored by her again. Finally we were acknowledged by the other woman and she took our order. Firstly they have Horrible coffee, I gave mine back. We both ordered the same omelets off the menu and they don't come with toast. Food tasted blah and the eggs had a weird flavor. They started off with good intentions. However, the menu includes nothing Irish, since Corned Beef is NOT a traditional Irish meal. The food is not good, any one can do breakfast, and here they use the generic English muffins that come from Market Basket. At first, it was a good place to get a cocktail after work and talk to everyone, the crowd was usually diverse and friendly. Now they see that they can make their profits off Hillsboro's drunken 20 somethings and they have started making the waitresses dress like prostitutes, with booty shorts and thy-high leg boots. Hmmm..didn't see that in Ireland..... If your an "Irish Pub", be an "Irish Pub", if your a ghetto bar....rename yourself because people know throughout the world that if your looking for good food and a good laugh you can always trust an Irish Pub. Have been here many times for food and drinks. Service is sometimes spotty but food is always very good. We have tried probably 1/2 the menu items and have been happy with everything. Live entertainment is usually too loud so you can't have conversations at your table, we try to make sure we are gone before the music starts. Try the garbage nachos. In fact there have been times where I'd have to order through other people to get my order. The bartenders are nice but they are selective when it comes to serving. We went for breakfast this morning and we both had poached on English and hash and home fries the hash was burned over cooked. Breakfast this morning was not enjoyable.This isn't our first time he we have been several times. So because of this may have to think twice before we have that plate again.Reading other views having a bartender issues and some waitress issues all of this is a recipe for a serious losses both financially​ and reputation is affected as well.I have seen these things at a much higher quality observed there now it's questionable. I went in on a Friday afternoon with two friends for lunch. This was my third or fourth time here so I thought I would right a review. We were greeted immediately and our drinks came very quickly. We had our appetizers in no time...dumplings, sweet potato fries with maple syrup for dipping and chicken wings...they were huge portions and we could have just had that but we order more! I had the stew and my friends had the chicken bomb (which they served at Hellings Slopeside and it was delicious!) and a VERY large salad! We could only eat half and took the rest home. The bartender was our server and even though the bar was full he was still very attentive and we never had to wait for a refill. He made us laugh and has a great personality. The Chef came out and we chatted, he's very modest about how great his food is. I was impressed that he was wearing a chef jacket in an Irish Pub, but now I understand that he treats it like he's cooking in a four star restaurant, not just a pub and it is reflected in the food. There is nothing worse than seeing the "cook" come out into the dining room looking like he was up partying all night and filthy! Overall the food was fantastic and I really love the atmosphere. I had been there when it was the Depot and they've done a great job turning it into a real pub. I would be just as impressed if I had just sat at the bar and had a beer. Can't wait to go back for breakfast today! It's nice to have choices of good restaurants...but this place is great, my choice from now on! read more
