Yum!! First choice, Maple Bourbon, straight up! Second Chocolate Martini. Third and last, MLT Old Fashioned with Mayple Bourbon.

First, it's always great when the staff is welcoming, especially when a place is crowded. Everyone was friendly with at least a warm smile. Yum!! As much as I wanted to try the maple bourbon or the chocolate martini (throw back from the 90s, I'm healing from a concussion and there's ice on the road tonight! What I did enjoy was my burger with bacon and gluten free bun! That was delicious and I ate it with sweet potato fries which were cooked perfectly to my liking. The restaurant itself was comfortable and warm with lots of natural wood. It was full and while it's not usually my favorite, I sat at the bar; and everyone who walked up was friendly as well. The woman behind the bar with the cool glasses was attentive, efficient and friendly/kind! I'll be up here teaching and mentoring for a few months and plan to come back before I leave in May. Sweet down. Sweet restaurant! Today was long and a bit challenging, and this is pre-program! The photo gives you an idea of what I was tempted by.

Burger with a side of tots. Excuse the bite I've taken out of it.

I spent the day in the Vermont wilderness, and I needed a place to get out of the sun and charge my car for the ride home. EV owners, there are three places to eat near the fast-charger, and the Maple Leaf Tavern is one of three I'll recommend. Their tap list welcomes anyone, with mainstays aside local and regional favorites. The specials don't disappoint, though I ordered off the regular menu. I upgraded to the tater tots, and I will say that these were some of the best I've had, fried to perfection, with only a little bit of oil left behind to hold the seasoning. The burger was cooked to my liking, with local ingredients rounding it out. The staff is attentive, even on this young Saturday night. The restaurant was fairly quiet despite the crowd. It was the kind of place I would gladly spend a night after a long day, if I didn't have to unplug my car and head a long way home. Guess I'll have to come back again.

Service was great. There was a live music when we were there which was nice but the food were just decent. Friendly staff.

We stopped in to have lunch. It was a busy day so the waitress let us know it might take a little longer than we might expect, we were ok with that. For starters we had the short rib empanadas and they were ok. For our lunch we had the colossal chili dog and I had the Asian sticky ribs. My girlfriend enjoyed her hotdog. It was served with tater tots and she enjoyed her lunch. My ribs seemed to have been a bit over done. I ate them but unfortunately, they were not satisfying ( sorry to say). I forgot to mention. I did have a cup of chili and I really enjoyed the chili.

YUM! small little local place that serves great pub/bar food! The staff was pleasant and service was great all around. The only down side was there is no changing table in the bathrooms (but they do have high chairs). The food came out fast and hot. Great options are well so there is something for everyone!

The hubby, a friend and I were in Vermont for an adventure challenge and had seen this place while driving through town. We were able to order take out from here during the summer and during mid-week in Vermont (Tues/Wed), this was a happy find as many things were closed (possibly due to covid). We saw that they had good reviews and foods that right up our (my) alley so we figured that would be better than just pizza for dinner. Besides, I never say no to tater tots! We got the cheese version and regular tots, lobster mac and cheese, regular mac and cheese, grilled chicken sandwich, mozzarella sticks, and grilled salmon. I was trying to be a little healthier with the salmon and accompanying salad, but I would say that it was okay - a bit dry, but could chalk that up to travelling with the food. My husband really did not like the grilled chicken sandwich - and chicken is all he eats. It was a big disappointment and that's hard since grilled chicken should be pretty easy. He was, however, happy with the mozzarella sticks and mac and cheese and thought those were good. I enjoyed the tots and the lobster mac which were large orders and there was a nice amount of lobster. The meal was a bit pricey overall. With that said, I would come back and try something else when we're back in Vermont.

Absolutely not. My chicken was funky smelling and my salad was wilting. I don't recommend.

Friendly service, burgers, fries, and salads were good, the empanadas were meh. Good local draft beer selection. A quick stop off route 9.

If you told me I'd find some of the best seafood of my life in landlocked Southern Vermont, I…read moreprobably wouldn't have believed you--but Anchor Seafood House & Grille is the real deal. This place has been a Wilmington staple since 1997, and you can tell they've spent the last nearly 30 years perfecting the craft. The atmosphere is incredible. While the original 1850s building was lost to a fire in 2010, the current space is a beautiful, faithful replica that feels historic and cozy. It's the perfect spot for a post-ski dinner or a summer night out. Here's the breakdown of what you need to order: The Chowder: This is proper New England clam chowder. It's thick, rich, and loaded with clams--not just a bowl of potatoes and heavy cream. It's the ultimate comfort food. Steamers: You have to start with the steamers. They are clean, sweet, and served the traditional way with a side of broth and drawn butter. It's a messy, delicious classic that they do perfectly here. Whole Belly Clams: These are the gold standard. They're lightly breaded, perfectly fried, and have that sweet, briny pop you usually only find at a roadside shack on the Maine coast. If you're a fan of "the bellies," don't skip these. The Lobster: I went for the steamed lobster, and it was impeccable. Succulent chunks of fresh meat and just the right amount of butter. It tasted like it was caught that morning. It's rare to find a spot that balances a "fancy night out" feel with such unpretentious, high-quality food. Whether you're a local or just passing through for the foliage, make sure you stop here.

We enjoyed a date night and birthday dinner at Alpenglow Bistro. This spot was highly recommended…read morefor their fondue for two, which completely exceeded our expectations. The cheese fondue was substantial, served with bread, apples, cornichons, cocktail onions, chunks of ham, two different kinds of sausages and assorted potatoes, all gorgeously presented on wooden slab. The French onion soup, which we shared as an appetizer was also delicious. Great wine and my fiancé sampled the Vermonter cocktail, a potent concoction of bourbon, sweet vermouth and angostura bitters. Very strong and flavorful! We finished the evening with a slice of apple strudel, complete with a sparkler candle for my belated birthday. Great presentation! The decor and atmosphere here is stunning with fur throws over the seat backs, roses, candlelight and Alpine themes like antler wall sconces. Bathrooms were very clean and decorated with cute retro skiing photos. After we praised the fondue as exceptional, our server offered to bring out the owner so we could meet her. Our whole experience here was very strong until the end of our meal when then service slowed down, which the server explained was due to a large party upstairs, so it took awhile for us to get our dessert. Not a huge deal. While the owner was great to chat with, she then asked if we wanted to enjoy our dessert at the bar so they could seat a larger party using our table and the one next to us (awkward, especially after spending over $200 on dinner, no thanks). Also, we did not appreciate the 2.5 "operational fee" added to our check! Were it not for these last two points, this would have been a five star review because the atmosphere, food and drinks were great!

We were greeted warmly by the hostess and seated right away. They don't have a kid's menu, but they have plenty of kid friendly food to choose from. I love how the dinning area has stone wall and chairs with white fur on them. Great romanic place for dates or special occasions. There were 5 of us and we ordered the pork schnitzel which was perfectly pan fried and seasoned ($36). The ham and cheese crepe was $22, small but very good... I was still left hungry so we also ordered the beet spatzel ($18), it came in a bowl with goat cheese , so good. The chicken entree(forgot the name) was big enough to share by my kids. It was cooked with skin on, which I prefer, crispy skin and tender meat, sooooo good. It was supposed to come with parsnip puree but they were nice enough to sub it with mashed potatoes for my kids. It was devoured! We also shared 2 deserts: apple strudel and bread pudding. They were good, but not the best we've had... For $16 each, maybe this can be skipped. But overall, great meal! Oh forgot to mention they have an apple schnapps shot for $5 that comes in a little Dasboot shot glass. So yummy!! A must try!
