This place is truly a treat. The ambiance is wonderful, it's a large house repurposed into a cozy restaurant, with great views of the grounds around. The forests surrounding the restaurant are lovely, and sometimes you might even see a bear! But the food is what sets this place apart. I had the duck, and it was perfectly prepared. The skin was crispy, the meat was moist, and the wild cherry sauce was a perfect tartness and acidity to offset the rich flavor of the duck. The salad that came with the entree was also noteworthy. The little leaf lettuce was crisp and fresh, and it was perfectly dressed. Also, the dessert was truly unexpectedly good. It's rare a place can do such a good job with both the food and dessert, but such is the case at Two Tannery. I tried both the warm berry crumble and the coffee crisp tart. Both were elegantly presented, and the flavors were rich, balanced, and delightful. read more

Two Tannery Road - The signature duck. Wow. - New American Near Me - West Dover, Vermont

My fiancé and I had a mini getaway at his Vermont vacation home. I love French food and was so glad this restaurant was near by. Charming historic house, service was great, and food was delicious. I'm obsessed with escargot and mussels so I was excited it was on the menu and did not disappoint. My other half thought the beef bourguignon was also tasteful. Reservations are highly recommended, definitely a must visit if you're in West Dover, VT. I can't wait for my next visit. read more

We made reservation for dinner one night during our snowboard trip at Mt Snow. A really nice and beautiful restaurant not far from the mountain. Friendly staffs and exceptional service. The appetizer Escargots and Baked Vermont Cheddar were not bad. I also tried the Special Mushroom Truffle Cream Soup which I like a lot. For main course I had the Roasted Long Island Duckling, nice crispy skin but meat was a bit dry. My hubby ordered the New York Sirloin which was okay. We enjoy the venue a lot but overall mediocre food from our dinner experience. read more

I took my family to Two Tannery. The highlight is the atmosphere which is pretty and feels like fine dining. That is the best thing I can say about the restaurant. Our server was awful! She wasn't knowledgable about the menu and forget us throughout the time we were there. Additionally she never came back to check on us after receiving our food. Our food was not cooked as we requested, so after waiting far too long my husband got up to find anyone to help us. The food was mediocre to poor. Two steaks we ordered were not cooked as ordered and when sent back were still not cooked as ordered. One of the steaks was incredibly tough and did not have good flavor. The duck was passable at best. My meal was less than thrilling and they seem to be challenged by preparing something without gluten. The restaurant is not gluten free friendly by any stretch. It is quite expensive and definitely not worth the price for what you receive. I would say this restaurant is a very strong pass. read more

This is a beautiful venue with a clean, minimal but still New England style. The staff were warm and professional, checking in with us to ensure we were wanting for nothing. The dishes were creative, including the best New England Clam Chowder I've ever had (flavorful and not overly thick with cream). I particularly enjoyed both the baked Vermont Cheddar with apples and ham, and also the Nutty Vermonter chicken dish. I would definitely return and would highly recommend Two Tannery Road to others. read more

Great, friendly service and warm beautiful atmosphere. Very limited wines by the glass. And, to be honest, the food was just fine.

After a beautiful snowy day we headed to Two Tannery Road. It was the end of my birthday week and my husband and I were looking forward to a nice dinner out. We were not disappointed. I had Escargot and the Steak Au Poivre. My husband had Frog Legs and then Lamb Chops. Everything was delicious. We love going out and having our dinner be worth the price. Mary Ann was our server and she was great - very attentive and lovely to chat with. read more

They need a sign outside that says kids not welcome. They made that clear in saying "we don't have a kids menu", and in the same breath mentioning "most people don't bring kids here". Not exactly sure why tho. It's not a fancy restaurant. Food is hit and miss. I got the impression that if you are well known to the staff your going to have a good dinner, and enjoy your time here. So maybe under the no kids sign a sign that says "locals get good food and service all other F-off" Restaurant has an older established vibe. It's getting raggedy in a few spots. Needs some attention, paint, carpet repair tightening screws on door knobs etc. read more

Outstanding, highly recommend it the food was perfect and everybody was very attentive Will definitely go back again read more

Adorable little restaurant. Stopped here on a weekend up in VT. Managed to get same day reservations for two - but just barely - and it's no wonder why. This is definitely the restaurant to go to if you want to stop at the kind of place where "everybody knows your name". It's definitely a huge hit with the locals. We sat in the bar area and it was evident everyone knew everyone else - even as the guests at the bar rotated in and out. The food was delicious. We had the trio and the stuffed shrimp and were pleasantly surprised that both came with a fresh salad. For dessert, the coffee toffee dessert is a MUST have. AH-MAZING! Definitely would stop here again. read more

This was my second visit to this restaurant and it was just as good as I remember. The vibe is classy but the restaurant doesn't come across as being stuffy. I started with the frog legs, which I have never had before, but they were beautifully done and have now opened a new menu item for me in the future. For my entree I ordered the duckling which was fantastic. The skin is so crispy and the black cherry sauce compliments the duck so well. For dessert we got the coffee toffee pie which is one of their signatures and you can tell by the lack of a picture that it was as good as they describe. Will definitely be returning when back in the area! read more

Really nice, old world kinda place. Went here with a fairly large party and the service was very accommodating and helpful. The best appetizer was definitely the pate and my duck entree was good but a bit dry. Wow! We had such a wonderful time at Two Tannery Road last night. It was my first time having a full meal in doors since the pandemic hit and the restaurant was very clean/tables spread out plus the staff was very thoughtful and attentive. We kept our masks on until we ordered food. The cocktails here are really well done. I got the cosmo which was nicely balanced and very light pink just how I like them. My friends got the espresso martini and a black and blue martini which were also delicious, I think the favorite of the table was the black and blue. We started with the bruschetta which was really special as it had artichokes and prosciutto. The crunchy bread stayed nice and crisp even with all those toppings. For entree I got the nutty vermonter (which is a twist on a chicken cordon bleu) it was a perfect way to be welcomed back into eating at restaurants! Tons of cheese and ham in the center and plentttty for food. Our server, Janey, was so helpful when we were deciding what to order for our entrees and dessert! She was always right there ready to fill our waters or clear plates. We each got a little sparkling wine with dessert to toast a lovely evening. When we left we forgot a sweater and the restaurant called us in *minutes* to let us know so we could easily turn around and come back. They are really doing a great job at this place, would definitely come back! read more

Bartender was superb - awesome cocktails nice humor. Dining room was pleasant, window side seat. Server was ok, slightly overwhelmed when we arrived but we were in no hurry. Escargot was amazing! Wine list substantial. Bread fresh, butter as well. Salads were standard. Entrees were all nicely done, no complaints at all. Really very good for a small town. Nice atmosphere. Some folks dressed to the 9's others in denim so a varied mix. read more

Thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience! Called to make a reservation for same night, left message and Vera called right back. We arrived early and stepped into the bar for a martini. Well done Greg!!! Had a nice chat with the local judge too. Dinner was excellent. Bouillabaisse was chock full of sea scallops, shrimp, mussels and more. Some yummy bread for dipping too! Hubby's shrimp pappardelle was a hit too! Excellent service/excellent food - would highly recommend! Too bad we have to go home to Utah. . . read more

This is a beautiful restaurant inside. A really historic building and charming decor. We went for our anniversary and were planning a very special evening. We were seated right away and ordered a drink each. The menu is fairly extensive and of course, not inexpensive. Our server recited the specials most of which were some kind of fish. I ordered escargots to start and we ended up sharing them although I don't think my husband liked them much as he only had one. Bread came for the table and I was surprised that it was that doughy white bread you get at basic Italian restaurants. I expected nice crusty baguettes or something else more elevated. I ordered stuffed shrimp and my husband had a veal dish. In general, while our food was serviceable, it wasn't anywhere near brilliant. This may end up being a brunch and drinks and apps place for us but I don't think we will be back for an expensive dinner, there are too many other spots with great food. I will say, Two Tannery is popular. When we left, the bar was full as was the parking lot. Hmmm, maybe i'm too picky. read more

The food, ambiance and service are phenomenal. The drinks are also fantastic. Highly recommend!

Had a memorable dinner with two of our adult age children. Food, service and ambiance were perfect. Menu had a lot to offer with plenty of drink options. Veal was outstanding. Swordfish and Bouillabaisse were solid entrees. Strawberry shortcake was delish for dessert. Bottle of wine was tasty and affordable. Our server was terrific and accommodated a severe food allergy for one of our kids. Love the little rooms which make for a great at home feel. Highly recommend a meal there. read more

Visited this cute restaurant before Christmas. Nicely decorated for the holidays. It was pretty quiet due to the rain but the service was great. I visited Two Tannery Road for a New Year's Eve celebration with a friend. While they didn't have their normal full featured menu, they did have a Prix Fixe NYE menu featuring some pretty good courses. Of course they still served their fresh baked bread with the evening's meal. We ordered the PEI mussels, and the ravioli to start with, had a mixed baby green salad, and for our entrees, had the beef tenderloin and the stuffed shrimp and finished it off with their delicious chocolate oblivian torte. The atmosphere was great! We had our reservation for 6:00 and were fortunate enough to be seated next to the fireplace. Service was impeccable. We arrived a bit early and had a few drinks at the bar and everyone that we met from the host, to the bar tender to our waitress, was great to talk with. read more

This place was very good. I went during the beginning of the week during COVID so it's was quiet and they were missing a few options on the menu. I still managed to have a great meal. I'm from NYC so I have no shortage of French type dining options. As an out of Towner up for the mountain I'll take a quick bar for a bite. It was a good recommend. For over 10 years, my #1 favorite in the Mount Snow Valley for a quaint, early American feel. The food is always perfect. Recently, Tim and Becky of TC's in West Dover VT bought this restaurant. The best dining option in West Dover and the surrounding area. The charming 18th century wood building, lit with lanterns and fire places and adorned with Teddy Roosevelt paraphernalia provide a relaxed, warm, classic, New England atmosphere. The menu is small and uninspired, but dishes are generally done well, and they know what they do well. The duck and their steaks are always delicious. They have very few appetizers, but mains come with a salad to start. Dessert is Two Tannery's best course, with great home-made preparations of seasonal favorites like bread pudding and apple crisp. read more

I had dinner here expecting fine dining. What i got was food that was subpar quality and reminded me of the food served in the airplane. We ordered an appetizer and two entrees. Everything was disappointing. It's completely unacceptable for a restaurant to brand itself as a " fine dinning " establishment and serve you low grade food for what you are paying. I'm assuming they can get away with this because there aren't many options around to begin with. But as an international person who's been around, I was extremely disappointed with the pretentiousness of the prices compared to what was served to me. If I could give this place zero stars I would have. If they want to live up to what they consider themselves, they would need to hire good cooks and spend a little more money on good quality ingredients. read more

Amazing setting. Wood floors, fireplace. Service = impeccable. Duck confit salad was over the top, lamb cooked perfectly and seasoned nearly perfectly (needed more salt.) Price point was great and to be expected. Wine selection decent, could be improved - you're paying 50 bucks for a bottle, it better be something more than the 15.99 bottle you passed up at Bottle King on your journey up to VT. Only downside is parking and location - it's a bit off the beaten path, if it wasn't for some friends directing us, we would have driven right by it. Love to return when we go back to Mt. Snow in a few weeks.. read more
