We made reservation for dinner one night during our snowboard trip at Mt Snow. A really nice and beautiful restaurant not far from the mountain. Friendly staffs and exceptional service. The appetizer Escargots and Baked Vermont Cheddar were not bad. I also tried the Special Mushroom Truffle Cream Soup which I like a lot. For main course I had the Roasted Long Island Duckling, nice crispy skin but meat was a bit dry. My hubby ordered the New York Sirloin which was okay. We enjoy the venue a lot but overall mediocre food from our dinner experience.

Adorable little restaurant. Stopped here on a weekend up in VT. Managed to get same day reservations for two - but just barely - and it's no wonder why. This is definitely the restaurant to go to if you want to stop at the kind of place where "everybody knows your name". It's definitely a huge hit with the locals. We sat in the bar area and it was evident everyone knew everyone else - even as the guests at the bar rotated in and out. The food was delicious. We had the trio and the stuffed shrimp and were pleasantly surprised that both came with a fresh salad. For dessert, the coffee toffee dessert is a MUST have. AH-MAZING! Definitely would stop here again.

This was my second visit to this restaurant and it was just as good as I remember. The vibe is classy but the restaurant doesn't come across as being stuffy. I started with the frog legs, which I have never had before, but they were beautifully done and have now opened a new menu item for me in the future. For my entree I ordered the duckling which was fantastic. The skin is so crispy and the black cherry sauce compliments the duck so well. For dessert we got the coffee toffee pie which is one of their signatures and you can tell by the lack of a picture that it was as good as they describe. Will definitely be returning when back in the area!

Great, friendly service and warm beautiful atmosphere. Very limited wines by the glass. And, to be honest, the food was just fine.

For good reasons. Our family informed us that the husband and wife owners of Folly used to be based in New York City. I believe they are the only two people operating Folly. The wife is front of house and the husband is the chef. They are able to manage this because the upscale dining room is small, and because they're good at what they do. We shared a very well curated cheese plate and I also tried some of my wife's Folly Salad, with arugula, spinach, dried cranberries, thin-sliced pears and a Poppy Seed dressing. Well presented and simple, but balanced flavors. I ordered a strip steak with truffle leek cream, which was served with al dente green beans and fried farm potatoes. The steak was sliced in large strips to display a perfect medium rare. It was tender and delicious. The sides were on point too. I also tried a bite or two of the ricotta gnocchi with vodka sauce and Misty Knoll bone in chicken with wilted spinach, shiitakes and bacon. Both looked and tasted great. I doubt that there is a better fine dining experience in the area. Be sure to make reservations. There aren't many tables and the food is reasonably-priced for this level of experience. 5 Stars

It's clearly a husband-and-wife operation, and while some might find that charming, I found it frustrating. As someone who works in the industry, I have no problem waiting or understanding when someone's busy. But it was hard to get her attention, and she seemed annoyed even pouring us a second glass of wine. The food took forever, and it honestly felt like they used the "intimate experience" as an excuse for the slow pace while charging whatever they want. It's one of those places people like the idea of more than the actual experience. I don't usually write reviews, but I left feeling pretty annoyed. For the time and money, there are definitely better options around.

This place has been a Wilmington staple since 1997, and you can tell they've spent the last nearly 30 years perfecting the craft. The atmosphere is incredible. While the original 1850s building was lost to a fire in 2010, the current space is a beautiful, faithful replica that feels historic and cozy. It's the perfect spot for a post-ski dinner or a summer night out. Here's the breakdown of what you need to order: The Chowder: This is proper New England clam chowder. It's thick, rich, and loaded with clams--not just a bowl of potatoes and heavy cream. It's the ultimate comfort food. Steamers: You have to start with the steamers. They are clean, sweet, and served the traditional way with a side of broth and drawn butter. It's a messy, delicious classic that they do perfectly here. Whole Belly Clams: These are the gold standard. They're lightly breaded, perfectly fried, and have that sweet, briny pop you usually only find at a roadside shack on the Maine coast. If you're a fan of "the bellies," don't skip these. The Lobster: I went for the steamed lobster, and it was impeccable. Succulent chunks of fresh meat and just the right amount of butter. It tasted like it was caught that morning. It's rare to find a spot that balances a "fancy night out" feel with such unpretentious, high-quality food. Whether you're a local or just passing through for the foliage, make sure you stop here.

Yup, a bar/club that usually sees the likes of smaller cover bands and local DJs managed to lock down Rusted Root! Not only that, but our $25 general admission tickets got us as close as 5 feet away from the stage of this cozy venue. Despite the sellout crowd (thank goodness we bought in advance), the bar wasn't overly packed. We were able to snag reasonably-priced drinks throughout the night and groove back to the dance floor for the three hours they were on stage. Bartenders were overwhelmed but friendly, and drink prices ($5-8) weren't overly "taxed." If you're staying at either the Snow Lake Lodge or the Lodge at Mount Snow, Snow Barn is just a short walk away. If staying elsewhere, you can catch the free MOOver (http://www.moover.com) shuttle, but be warned that their service stops at 5pm. From reading the recent negative reviews, it's a shame to hear that Snow Barn has perhaps gone downhill from the times we visited. Again, we went for the concert, so if you're in the same camp, I'd suggest you check the music calendar (http://mountsnow.com/livemusic) and plan your visit accordingly. At the very least, you can always enjoy a bit of history...The Snow Barn used to be Reuben Snow's barn, who owned the base-area land. After the land was purchased by Walt Schoenknecht in the 50s, it was converted into a ski lodge before being once again converted into the bar/club it is today.
