We loved our breakfast here! We arrived on a Sunday morning around 7:30 and were the only ones there. The waitress was super sweet and attentive the whole time even though she was working the whole room as it got busier. We watched as tons of locals and tourists came in. The space is small and cozy. Arriving early is definitely an advantage. The pancakes were fluffy and large! The corned beef hash was delicious and had a unique flavor (maybe some vinegar?). The California Benedict was an excellent. The waitress asked me to check my eggs and ended up having them redone. The home fries were beautifully seasoned. Came here on a Sunday morning (815am) with my family (6 of us) and waited for about 20 minutes. The restaurant was cute inside. They were busy inside but service was slow which would explain some of the slowness with the line. Our waitress took about 10-15 minutes to come take our order after we sat down. Drinks and food didn't take too long but we had tried to ask for some things and she ran off before we could finish our request. She didn't seem happy when I asked for something when she got back. She ultimately never gave me what I asked for and I had to ask one of the bussers. Maybe she forgot... She didn't come back to our table until it was time for the check which also took a very long wait. Our waters were never filled despite there being two bussers roaming the restaurant non stop. We were quite disappointed with the service. Food was okay. Nothing spectacular or out of the ordinary. Oatmeal was on the thicker side. Scrambled eggs were on the dryer side. Steak was cooked fine. Given this experience, I would not come back. Service was slow and the server didn't seem to care for us. I know it was busy and people have bad days but this ruined our experience. Also we had called to ask if we could make reservations (never having been here) a few days before and the person who answered the phone gave a snarky reply. read more

This place is great: I understand how it's continued to thrive over multiple decades. I've only been for breakfast, but the food is all solid diner fare. The food came out very soon after ordering, and was well-prepared. I got eggs over easy with patty sausage and home fries. Another successful visit, and by successful I mean a full stomach at a reasonable price. Popped up to Mt.Snow for some early bird runs. Conditions were poor and all the Jerrys were starting to show up so left early and treated myself to a top notch breakfast. Such a fun classic diner experience. This place is the cutest. It's situated right on a river with cool views. We stopped here while visiting friends in the area. My wife and I were staying nearby for a weekend getaway. The day before we had driven an hour to a destination breakfast restaurant near Killington that was highly recommended by a friend. That place was excellent, in our opinion Dot's was better. Dot's exudes local community charm. They had flooding issues during a 2013 storm and completely renovated. They maintained the charm. They also knew how to turn tables, although crowded the wait was reasonable. The waitress was very nice and we got to enjoy the counter experience. The food was outstanding! Served hot and quickly, I went with a "hungry man" style meal. Eggs, pumpkin raising pancakes, toast, bacon, and home fries. Each part was outstanding. The pumpkin pancakes were amazing, loved the raisins. My wife enjoyed her omelette. I can see why this is a community institution. We'll look to return when we're back in Vermont. read more

Great breakfast at Dot's on a winter Saturday morning. Got the cajun skillet and it was great, make sure you try the homemade cracked wheat bread, it was awesome. They were able to seat our group of 4 pretty quickly given the place is always busy. Server was really nice and checked in often. Driving through Wilmington, Vermont, at lunchtime, I turned to Yelp for suggestions on where to eat. As usual, Yelpers led me to a good place! We parked on the street and walked a couple minutes to the restaurant. The outside looked nice with pretty flowers and chairs. (See photo.) The inside was clean and bright, with a row of windows looking out over a little creek. We liked the country kitchen look of the room. (See photo). Our table was by a wall-mounted TV showing The Weather Channel, which we appreciated watching (instead of a news channel). A friendly woman named Annabel waited on us. She was really energetic and made a couple humorous remarks that cracked us up! We liked talking with her, and hearing the history of the restaurant, especially how they rebuilt after being flooded out in Hurricane Irene. We were so interested, that she brought out a photo album to show us with before and after pictures. It is very special that the restaurant is so loved in the community, that people from town had fundraisers to help the business recover! As for the food, it was classic American diner food. Nothing was innovative or particularly exciting to look at, so no food photos from me here. Two people in our group got a bowl of chili ($5.50). One person thought it was just right, but the other person asked for hot sauce. Annabel cheerfully said "choose your weapon!" as she put down bottles of Sriracha, Chulula, and Tabasco. My tuna melt ($9.50) was bland, so I added hot sauce. The homemade multi-grain bread used for the sandwich was good. The diner who ordered the Spanish Omelette with Swiss Cheese ($9.75) said it was "all right." Overall we think the food was a bit overpriced for basic dishes. The ambiance and service was great so I give Dot's a 3.5 rounded up to 4 stars. read more

We just went to Dot's with my husband'a family. My husband and I recently moved to town from the Rupert area. Dot's always looks busy. The atmosphere is sweet old home diner. I always love a wood interior and a historical and well preserved location with a good story. However coming from a New Orleans background of service and restaurant going I was not overly impressed. The #2 I had was just okay, my husband's toast was slightly burned, he never got his bacon, and they took the hot sauce away before I had finished my potatoes without asking. The server was curt and I didn't get the sense of being a valued customer at all. That being said, we'll give them another try just to see if it was a one off. My in- laws seemed to like it enough. read more
