The ambiance of this place in the summer is great. They have many outdoor tables and there's a nice stream in the back. The ice cream is fantastic. I got the baby cone of creamy, and it was delightful and the perfect size. The food here is okay, but nothing to write home about. I got a Caesar salad with grilled chicken: the chicken was good, the salad was probably bag salad (but good). I also got the Poutine: the fries and gravy were pretty good, but the curds were not super fried. read more

This was our second time here - the outdoor space is fun, and the food is great. We had a large order, but the highlights were the huge chicken wraps, yummy onion rings and seasoned fries, and delicious burgers. It's not exactly cheap - $14 for a wrap with no sides - but I'd keep going back :) Oh - and for the maple frozen yogurt. read more

We stop by each year on our family vacation, hoping it'll be better, but it never is. It's expensive. The kids' chicken nuggets were just deep-fried nuggets you'd get from the grocery store. The grilled buffalo chicken wrap was dripping with too much buffalo sauce and rolled up like a wrap you'd make at home in a hurry. We enjoyed sitting at the picnic tables near the Creek. Fries and onion rings were hot and tasty. The Asian bowl and kid's chicken nuggets received two thumbs up. My bacon, blue cheese burger was a bit of a let down. It was cooked perfectly, but somewhat dry and lacking flavor even with all the toppings. Wow, I have been coming to this place with the family for over 16 years. It's been going downhill for some time now, but this last time was so below average I had to write this. Waited 40 min for our order. This is not a big deal but my chicken sandwich was $14. It was a 2x2" piece of breast, one small piece of lettuce and a slice of tomato. It was served on a stale roll with zero sauce or condiments. The chicken was overcooked but did have a nice flavor from the brine. My daughter had a wrap which was served to us a full 2 minutes earlier than the rest of the order. I think attention to detail and quality control are the answer. read more

Fun, super traditional New England ice cream joint off the side of the road. Seating is picnic tables set along a wooded stream - it's really rather pleasant. For the icecream you can get hardpacked or soft serve - neither was mind blowing, but they were rather good. Prices are rather cheap, and it's a nice little stop off if you're in the area. We actually ended up swinging back by a second time when in the area if that says anything. They serve Burgers and sandwiches from a different window. I didn't get a chance to try them, but they actually looked a couple steps up from your standard shack-style joint. I would try them if I go back. read more

We ate there today, the onion rings were so overcooked and crunchy that we could hardly eat them. They were on the verge of being burnt. The Hot dogs were good, but I asked for onions and relish on one and relish on the other with no onions and I got onions on both and no relish on either. We went on a massive 2-week family road trip, 12 states, dozens of meals. When I asked the kids (there are 8 of them...) what were their top meals, this place was in everyone's top 5. For a family of 10, that's pretty impressive! This a seasonal grill (think fixed location food truck) set beside a stream. Of course, if you're eating on the property, the weather must be cooperative. They have picnic tables set in a pleasant mowed area and they are being extra-safe regarding COVID-19. The highlights were Korean tacos and Buffalo Fries. The tacos were outstanding with BBQ and slaw. The fries had a great sauce and plenty of bleu cheese. Yum! It was fairly pricey for a roadside stand, but you're getting top-notch food in a picturesque setting! Honestly, I doubt I'll be back because this was a once in a lifetime trip. If we are back, though, this place will be a meal. Maybe 2! read more

We got a bacon cheeseburger, the Cajun chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries. Everything was excellent and portions were large. Outdoor seating is a bit limited but overall a great experience. I love this place. They use local veggies. They have great food. They have a cute little brook to splash in while you wait. And it's about the half way point on a road trip we take often. I ordered the Korean bbq tacos and honestly they were one of the best I have had. A dream. There were perfectly diced veggies either in the salsa or slaw. It gave such a nice textured crunch. The aioli on top was just the right amount. Sometimes tacos are drippy and messy with the fillings, sauces, or grease coming out. Seriously, they somehow perfected the quantities. No dripping on my hands! My son loved his chili cheese dog. The chili had lots of beans and big chunks of meat. He was surprised at how good just the chili even was. My husband ordered the pineapple bacon burger. The meat itself had great flavor. The bacon and pineapple just pushed it over the edge. The only slight disappointment was the chicken nuggets. Definitely the frozen kind. My bad though. I should have ordered chicken tenders but didn't realize until after. My daughter still liked them and was happy. Everyone was thrilled with the food and the great spot. I wish this wasn't only a seasonal place. We come through here every few months. I'll enjoy it during the spring/summer trips and look longingly at it as we pass through in the winter. read more

We just moved to town and we love Wahoo's! Their food is good, with a diverse and kid friendly menu. I love the chicken caesar salad wrap, the seasoned fries and the grass fed burgers. You can't beat sitting outside on a nice day near the brook that runs behind the restaurant. You can dip your feet in to cool off if you want to afterwards. The ice cream is a great way to finish your meal. My husband and I share a regular soft serve twist and it is the thickest soft serve I've ever had! Milkshakes are pretty good too. As always make sure you tip well (I worked in the service industry for a few years in New Orleans, but with this inflation it's even more important!) I personally think this helps with quality, and faster service since you bring your food to your own table. Would recommend to anyone looking for a solid, fast casual meal. Update: just realized that they had a change of ownership at the end of July, but have no idea who the new owners are. There was a longer wait on a not so busy night, a mistake with our order, and the soft serve ice cream was not as good as it usually is. read more

This Wahoo's does not serve Fish Tacos like the Wahoo's in California. Bummer! There are wooden directional signs pointing to other Wilmingtons including Wilmington, CA which is 2,871 miles away. Gravel parking lot and picnic table seating outside. The clientele here is mostly tourists passing through the area. I ordered a Flurry ($3.75 tax included) with soft serve twist ice cream, Reeses Pieces, & topped with whipped cream, decent tasting and very sweet on a hot day. Only 5 reviews? Huh? Maybe you just don't have to review something that is legendary. I've only been a very temporary Vermonter over the years, and even I knew about it and couldn't wait to get back here. I had (ahem, on several occasions... apologies to the diet I was supposed to be on!) a great 6oz burger of VT grass-fed beef and cheese (sometimes with blue cheese, yummm). The bun is awesome, brioche-style but slightly crispy/crackly. I had some perfect hand cut fries, and maybe the best (I.e. non-soggy/underfried) sweet potato fries I've ever had. This is not a fancy-schmancy burger, not a restaurant-style burger, it is what it is, a roadside joint with picnic tables, and it excels at what it does. In fact, I took a young French friend of mine here to show her what a good American Hamburger can taste like. She liked it, of course, How could you not? (Ok, technically if one were a vegetarian...) Go visit the little creek behind the tables outside. It's a cute little place that seems almost like a secret. read more

The burgers - really one star. Too raw inside, mushy, lack of any flavor and price too high - 6 bucks. Turkey burger tasted better (but no pickles??)) but too dry and again, blah. 4 stars for the ice cream soft serve. Super creamy, good (but not outstanding) flavor.
