So it was lunch time, I was starving, and this store stuck out while on the road. When I walked into the store I was amazed at their selection of groceries, fresh meats as well as their Vermont made items. When it was time to make a decision I chose their meatloaf sandwich which was great. It was huge, tasty and definitely filling. The only critique was that the sandwich was a bit sloppy and weirdly enough it had too much meatloaf. It would have been nice if they had a seating area to have my meal, but sitting outside under their tree line was just as good. Overall, this is a great store and deli. The food was great and the staff was even better. This is definitely a place to stop in if you are hungry and in the area. read more

Mountain life depends on small businesses along the main roads. We visit this area often for family and have found some great beef and fish here for this area. Also a quick stop along #100 to pick up essentials. Produce is hit or miss and can run a bit more $$ but you pay for convenience and some specialty items. Staff are generally friendly in this typical mountain market. I needed veggies for tonight and they were limited today. Grapes were tasty though! read more

Best market around; and only market to be found good overall sometimes prices are a little high

Great food great service all the way around especially tayo behind the the meat counter he is very helpful definitely would recommend

Ordered two breakfast Sammie's, and left 43 minutes later and they got one of the sandwiches wrong. It was not busy. In fact only one order was before ours. Further one of the employees was quite rude to my daughter and the owner was extremely rude to me. He was upset with me because I ate 12 chocolate covered cranberries while I waited 42 minutes for an incorrectly made breakfast sandwich. I've been coming to Vermont for 25 years and this was easily the slowest, rudest expo have had! &7 for a bad, incorrectly prepared Sammie and rude behavior!! Go elsewhere!! Owner acted like a jackass. read more

Breakfast burrito was a yucky soupy pouch (pic). Egg sandwich was microwaved pre-cooked egg on non-toasted sliced white bread. The food-prep/deli section of this place has NO clue what they're doing or how to make good, edible food. The market side offers great produce and products. read more

River Valley Market - Black bean breakfast burrito - Grocery Near Me - Wilmington, Vermont

Out of all the markets in the Wilmington/Dover area, this is the best by far. Organic milk, two kinds of local ice cream, amazing local berries corn and vegetables, nice selection of cheeses, some locally roasted whole bean coffee, a good baguette and some local mozzarella are all things I was able to grab here and Not at the shaws a few miles up the road. If you're looking for quality try the River Valley Market. read more

Bought a chicken cutlet sandwich today and had to throw it away after two bites. It tasted like Panko encrusted cardboard. It's been a long time since I had a sandwich this bad. read more

$7 for a tiny sandwich isn't ideal. Needless to say I will be going down the Road from now on. I can not believe that I just paid seven dollars for a tiny sandwich. Down the road I can get the same sandwich for five dollars and boars head cold cuts. read more

Everyone is always so kind and attentive, I always come in for last minute items, and always for the sandwiches! Amanda is a total rockstar in the deli- she's fast and makes sure everything is fresh. Hands down the best chicken salad in the valley! perfect place to call ahead and grab your lunch on the way to the lake! read more

Something of an upscale, small-scale market, River Valley Market offers some good choices for shoppers. There's a terrific fresh meat department with fish, steaks, pork chops, etc., and some good Italian sausages. They have a fine selection of beers and Vermont wines, a large display of cheeses (and not just the ever-present cheddars) and some items for the more gourmet-minded cooks like herbs and fresh veggies. They can also make sandwiches and desserts for you there or to takeout. And the service is quick and friendly. The prices are fair, especially considering it's in the middle of a popular ski area. Two small notes: They offer daily soups; the chili is about medium hot and very good. Downside: no public bathroom. read more

Cathy is a treasure. The meat counter staff were helpful. Great selection of gluten-free items and foods from northeastern specialties like Lyman's Orchard. Local produce was fresh and delicious; bagged carrots had seen better days. read more

We had such a wonderful shopping experience! Super friendly employees and a well stocked market with all your needs! Was definitely one of the highlights on our Vermont trip! read more

I was looking forward to getting their delicious steak offerings and they had a sign on their front door indicating that they were closed until January 5. I was not expecting this store to be closed on December 31 with many people shopping for the holiday. I was disappointed as I buy my New Year's Eve dinner here every year. I had to scramble to different stores to get what I needed. I will return and continue to support this establishment but will call ahead next time. read more

Somewhere between 2 and 3 stars. The people working here are great. The stuff they are selling....maybe not so much. Keep a close eye on the produce and meat you're picking up. We only come here for pantry goods at this point as it is probably the most convenient place for us to stop and they do have a good selection of stuff. They get HUGE points for offering bulk spices. No need to buy an entire jar of something when you only need a teaspoon. As for their deli/prepared food, we tried two salads, both were totally unseasoned. Probably wont bother with anything else, but it definitely seems popular. read more

Their market is good, but pricey. However every time I order from their sandwich counter they ALWAYS mess up. Not sure why i continue to support their market. read more

Got a few grinders today. Man making them wasn't wearing gloves. When I said something about it he said gloves cause cross contamination. I have worked in food service for over 20 years. We always have to wear gloves. I will never go back read more

This place rocks! It is exactly what you would want and expect in a "country market." While they have a nice selection of grocery items, their real strength is the great selection and quality from their butcher counter. Always nicely stocked with raw and ready to cook/marinated items. I also like their cheese selection as well. They have a great collection of vermont made products. The owners are very pleasant and the staff in general are great. read more

I have been a customer for the last five years and have always found the service and products exceptional. Yesterday, we stopped in for a roast and I asked for it to be butterflied as my Guida recipe noted. The thoughtful man behind the meat counter inquired further and we determined my recipe needed a different specialty cut that he expertly performed! Where else could this happen???? I would also note their steaks are beyond excellent! The staff are all so helpful! read more

Surprisingly fair prices for a ski town market. Excellent fish and meat selection. A decent variety of cheeses and meats for snacking. The produce selection is excellent, you name it they pretty much have it. For a bonus star they even had the dried mushrooms I needed for my risotto! I'll come here again the next time I need to load up on veggies and protein after a day on the slopes! read more

I keep giving this place second chances, and they keep disappointing. They act like they have something better to do than wait on customers. read more

For those headed up to Mount Snow this is probably a good place to stop on your way to support a small local market. Prices are better than the market at base of the mountain, pretty good selection, and friendly staff. I'd return to the market on our next trip back. read more

This is great general store. They really have a great selection of times for the size and a fun selection of local products from maple syrup to cheese to beer and wines. They also had some tasty looking baked goods and breads. We did not buy any meats but the butcher section looked great. We will be stopping in here again during our stay! read more

At $5 for a gallon of milk you think they'd be able to fix the parking lot. Or change the sign to read River Valley Mark-up

I am incredibly happy that the house I just purchased is so close to River Valley Market. Great selection of craft beers and wine, huge deli section, fresh vegetables, plus a pretty large grocery. Prices are only a little more than the grocery store but they offer everything that you would likely need. Great staff at counter and deli as well. read more

This is the best local supermarket with plenty of Vermont's amazing food as well as regular items. The prices are better than other stores in the valley. They do a great job of balancing high quality products that are good values. The bread and cheese choices are excellent. The bulk spices are great for when you just need a little bit. If you don't see what you're looking for just ask the friendly proprietors! read more
