people playing a game of bowling

Very interesting little establishment, located just off route 100 going north from Wilmington on the right. Multiple activities and food available. Nice place for groups and family. The mini golf was fun, not extravagant like the ones on the board walk but very well crafted and intricate parts. While some holes didn't have there mechanical pieces working it was fun to imagine what the may have done in there glory day. Not badly priced either and the owner was really nice and laid back on the rules. The arcade was small and had lots of mechanical arm like prize machines. Many games didn't have working pieces and the lights were dim or not working at all. Definitely needing attention in that area, specifically simple maintenance. They had a good variety but again so few were broken or hard to play because of up keep. The bowling alley looked like fun but never played. Not very big so plan accordingly. Typical bowling alley, bowling shoes and ball. Oh yeah remember your socks lol. The food was tasty but not as expected. The staff works very hard to prepare but it maybe the menus is a bit big for what they're capable of preparing efficiently. If it were me I would stick to the basics pizza, wings, anything fried. Smaller menu and cheaper overhead. So closing on the food, pizza was good and wings were good, the fries and onion rings were awesome! The Mexican food was interesting, definitely A for effort. All in all a great place to let the kids have fun and maybe the adults can have a beer or cocktail. If someone is attending bar, I waited a bit with no one next to me and never could get a mixed drink or beer. It's alright though maybe next time.

Would have loved to give you a better rating. Actually the two toppings were REALLY skimpy . I know these are tough times but seriously?? Crust pretty good!

I have been coming to for over a decade and have never been disappointed! The pizza is not New York style but it's extremely satisfying and the drinks are affordable.

Good pizza, a bit on the expensive side for what I ordered. More of a family type place.

The candlepin bowling is a gas. The food is edible, as long as you stay away from the pizza. They do not have a wide selection of beers.

They were busy inside but service was slow which would explain some of the slowness with the line. Our waitress took about 10-15 minutes to come take our order after we sat down. Drinks and food didn't take too long but we had tried to ask for some things and she ran off before we could finish our request. She didn't seem happy when I asked for something when she got back. She ultimately never gave me what I asked for and I had to ask one of the bussers. Maybe she forgot... She didn't come back to our table until it was time for the check which also took a very long wait. Our waters were never filled despite there being two bussers roaming the restaurant non stop. We were quite disappointed with the service. Food was okay. Nothing spectacular or out of the ordinary. Oatmeal was on the thicker side. Scrambled eggs were on the dryer side. Steak was cooked fine. Given this experience, I would not come back. Service was slow and the server didn't seem to care for us. I know it was busy and people have bad days but this ruined our experience. Also we had called to ask if we could make reservations (never having been here) a few days before and the person who answered the phone gave a snarky reply.

Sometimes, after a day out in VT, you just need a beer. Or a sandwich. Or both. Or many. Snow Republic has got you. They have great sandwiches, beers, FRIES, and super friendly service. I love the open atmosphere, while giving ski cabin. There is a ton of space for everyone to hang out and relax while enjoying the offerings. When I next visit Dover, I will certainly make Snow Republic a stop and visit, for some fantastic fries if nothing else.

Looking for a spot to grab food and a beer this looked to the perfect spot. They are a dog friendly establishment so dog owners can know. Food wise they offered a variety of pizzas, burgers, fries, and other sandwiches. Beer wise was a little disappointing for our visit considering everything on draft was an IPA with a can option of a porter. I enjoy IPAs and know how popular the style is but at least have a couple other options available at all times. Can never go wrong with a light lager or pilsner and even a sour as well. Drink wise I grabbed The Magic Carpet Ride that was a Session IPA at 5% that packed a lot of flavor for the low ABV and my wife even liked it as a non-IPA fan. She grabbed the porter and thought it was alright but nothing memorable and not the best style for warm summer weather at times. Food wise she got their Luigi (grilled chicken sandwich) while I got their OG Chicken Sandwich (fried chicken). Her sandwich was good while mine was tasty yet one side of it tasted burnt and had a slight unpleasant taste to it. The sauce on it was really tasty though. We also split their cheesy bacon fries and they were loaded with bacon and cheese. The biggest knock was the fries themselves were cold from the start. Would likely pass on them next time. The overall vibe of the place was nice, had a rustic cabin woodsy feel to it as you'd expect for rural Vermont. The music being played though was tropical and it was a nice unexpected surprise. They had both inside and outside seating, outside was a little bit of a miss with the road being so close and noise of traffic. We did prefer inside overall. They also had many games you could play, a pool table, shuffleboard, and card/board games too. Overall I would say the food and beers knocked it down by one star but still worth visiting! Great vibes just not our favorite brewery.

If you told me I'd find some of the best seafood of my life in landlocked Southern Vermont, I…read moreprobably wouldn't have believed you--but Anchor Seafood House & Grille is the real deal. This place has been a Wilmington staple since 1997, and you can tell they've spent the last nearly 30 years perfecting the craft. The atmosphere is incredible. While the original 1850s building was lost to a fire in 2010, the current space is a beautiful, faithful replica that feels historic and cozy. It's the perfect spot for a post-ski dinner or a summer night out. Here's the breakdown of what you need to order: The Chowder: This is proper New England clam chowder. It's thick, rich, and loaded with clams--not just a bowl of potatoes and heavy cream. It's the ultimate comfort food. Steamers: You have to start with the steamers. They are clean, sweet, and served the traditional way with a side of broth and drawn butter. It's a messy, delicious classic that they do perfectly here. Whole Belly Clams: These are the gold standard. They're lightly breaded, perfectly fried, and have that sweet, briny pop you usually only find at a roadside shack on the Maine coast. If you're a fan of "the bellies," don't skip these. The Lobster: I went for the steamed lobster, and it was impeccable. Succulent chunks of fresh meat and just the right amount of butter. It tasted like it was caught that morning. It's rare to find a spot that balances a "fancy night out" feel with such unpretentious, high-quality food. Whether you're a local or just passing through for the foliage, make sure you stop here.

It was off-season in the area so many places haven't been busy. Luckily they asked if we were okay with the bar. Most definitely okay with the bar! We actually got pretty good attention when sitting at the bar. I ordered the Broiled Seafood Sampler because I like seafood and anytime I can get a variety in a dish, I'll go for that. The sampler consisted of haddock, salmon, scallops, and shrimp. The dish contained plenty of the fish and only two pieces each of the scallops and shrimp. The dish was not what I was expecting because of the crumb topping and creamy sauce. It was fine. We definitely got a good portion and the linguine with garlic and oil was fantastic! It was definitely garlicky, just the way I like it.

The cheese fondue was substantial, served with bread, apples, cornichons, cocktail onions, chunks of ham, two different kinds of sausages and assorted potatoes, all gorgeously presented on wooden slab. The French onion soup, which we shared as an appetizer was also delicious. Great wine and my fiancé sampled the Vermonter cocktail, a potent concoction of bourbon, sweet vermouth and angostura bitters. Very strong and flavorful! We finished the evening with a slice of apple strudel, complete with a sparkler candle for my belated birthday. Great presentation! The decor and atmosphere here is stunning with fur throws over the seat backs, roses, candlelight and Alpine themes like antler wall sconces. Bathrooms were very clean and decorated with cute retro skiing photos. After we praised the fondue as exceptional, our server offered to bring out the owner so we could meet her. Our whole experience here was very strong until the end of our meal when then service slowed down, which the server explained was due to a large party upstairs, so it took awhile for us to get our dessert. Not a huge deal. While the owner was great to chat with, she then asked if we wanted to enjoy our dessert at the bar so they could seat a larger party using our table and the one next to us (awkward, especially after spending over $200 on dinner, no thanks). Also, we did not appreciate the 2.5 "operational fee" added to our check! Were it not for these last two points, this would have been a five star review because the atmosphere, food and drinks were great!
