This is the tossed salad. $8.50
Tracey B.

We visited at 7pm on a Friday night when two other pizzerias in town were closed for vacation. Not surprisingly, VIP was crazy busy with about 3/4 of the tables occupied and a steady flow of people picking up takeout orders. This is a place your order at the counter and carry it to your table type situation. We ordered a family size pizza and a salad. The cashier took our order quickly and after About 15 minutes, my buzzer beeped and we grabbed our food. The salad was large, fresh and visually appealing. It was a great addition to our meal. Our pizza was thin crust and flavored well despite being slightly overcooked. The cheese was not gooey and warm like you'd expect, rather it was brown and slightly hard. Two minutes less in the oven and it would have been excellent pizza instead of okay pizza. Because it was so busy and they were a bit overwhelmed, I'll give them a pass on the overcooked pizza, and we will try it again on a less crowded night.

VIP Large 14" pie

Ordered a Large 14" pie to go. Service was quick. The pizza was very good. I guess VIP make their pizza well done. Which I don't mind. But being from Jersey, I like to see white for my mozzarella. I have looked at some of the other reviews with a photo of their pie and it looks the same as what I got. Looks like old style pizza. Even though the pizza looks well done, the pie crush was soft and crunchy!

Half of a large turkey sub.

We. Love. This. Place. We've been ordering here for a few years and it's definitely hit its prime. We get onion rings, occasionally 'cause they're the bomb- but the portion size was always small. Today, the price was the same but the order was huge! They switched up the turkey too. It used to be that pinkish turkey that's clearly processed, but again, today, it's actual turkey. I hope they don't switch up from what today was. My pictures are garbage, and we've already had like eight onion rings.. but you get it Definitely best sub spot in Brattleboro, hands down.

a half eaten chicken sandwich

I've been coming to VIP my entire life. Up until recently, it has been my favorite local pizza place. The last few times we've been there the pizza has had an odd, sweet yet trash-like flavor to it. Tonight was the final straw for us. We bought $60 worth of grinders that were essentially inedible. The bacon on the BLT's was not even really bacon. It was a thick, greasy, very unappetizing piece of gristle. We couldn't chew it, and once we realized what it was we were disgusted. So disappointing. We essentially paid a ridiculous amount of money for tomato and lettuce sandwiches, since that's the only part we ate. After decades of being loyal customers, we will no longer be dining here. I recommend House of Pizza across the street, where the ingredients are fresh and the food tastes good!

First time in the restaurant, well we did delivery due to the virus. The pizza was the regular pepperoni extra cheese but it was really good. Some might say it was cooked too much but it was exactly like I like. We will go back.

On a road trip and stumbled across this place while stopping for gas. Easily in the top 5 of best pizzas I've ever had. The store was very clean and well decorated. 5/5 Would eat again.

Their hot veggie subs are fantastic. The feta is a nice touch and it's a well balanced sub. Excellent job making a meatless sub worth the $$

Pizza - half pepperoni/sausage - it was very tasty but sausage was too spicy. Will return when in the area.

This brewery is perched on the side of a mountain with one of the best views of the valley below. For a travel day during the winter travel season it was busy but not overly full. The place is cash only which is posted and they have an atm in the front room for ease. The mountain rustic decor matches the place and area. There was counter service for food and drinks. They had both canned cocktails, wine and locally made beers to sample. The beer selection is great if you like IPA's. We ordered two pizzas and both came out quickly from their in room wood fired oven and were absolutely delicious. Definitely worth a stop if you're traveling near by or during leaf peeping season

Firstly I will say they did have a sign saying cash only, but do have an ATM for those without any. It is also a place you sit yourself and then order at the bar. It is located at an absolutely beautiful scenic view and they do have some outside seating so you can have a brew and pizza with a nice view! Beer wise I enjoyed their All Day Drinker and it was a light and crushable brew with more malt than hops shining through. My wife got their lemon drop sour which was refreshing with a hint of tartness. They also had a cider as well as some IPAs and non-alcoholic options too. Pizza wise they had a good variety of options including some not so traditional choices. The prices ranged from cheese being $20 and going up to $25 for the most. Those not interested in pizza are out of luck unless the one salad sounds good to them though I will say. Since we had 6 people in our group we ended up choosing 4 different pizzas. Our selections were Meatiator (think meat lovers), Potato Pie (mashed potatoes, bacon, sour cream, etc), Honey Apple Pie (honey, apple slices, cheeses, bacon, ricotta, basil), and lastly Okie Dokie Artichoke (garlic oil, lemon marinated artichoke hearts, roasted red peppers, sausage, cheese, and red pepper flakes). It gave us a really good variety and like I said above our whole party enjoyed the pizzas. Had a great cook to it, with lots of toppings that packed in lots of flavor. The Okie Dokie may have been the crowd favorite while the Honey Apple Pie was the most surprising flavor. Leaned towards sweet with the honey and apples but wasn't quite dessert pizza. Great spot to come for a pizza and beer/drink while also taking in the nearby view!

It was okay, even for a Jersey guy: the crust was crisp and flaked nicely, yet the bottom of the pie was soft and soggy. The sausage was impressive: they must take apart Italian links and toss large chunks before baking. The pie was round and sliced like a Sicilian; my brother tells us that that's the way the restaurant serves up family style, yet as we left I viewed a freshly made 18" sliced up as normal... Drinks are fountain self-serve with plastic cups. They also serve beer and wine by the glass, which I think is strange considering the family booth setting and sing!e page paper menu or overhead menu behind the counter. I am also still surprised by the flavor in the Greek salad--well done there. My nephew had a monstrous bowl of spaghetti and meatballs. I should say that this was a pound of dry pasta smothered in sauce with a couple of humongous meatballs. From what I understand the garlic bread is awesome: I didn't get to experience any of it, the kids ate it all. Great place to stop for a bite whether you're stopping in Brattleboro or just passing through...

Sam's is in a small plaza set back from the street. Inside you find a nice casual pizza place, as you come in you have the pizza kitchen with the large wood fired pizza oven. You can order slices or whole pies, they also have salads, wings and a couple of sandwiches. We ordered a large mushroom pizza and grabbed a table by the small bar area. The bar has beer and wine, they offer a very nice selection of local brews. After settling in the pizza showed up quickly. Sam's pizzas are thin crust, nicely cheesy and have a good basic tomato sauce. The pizza are very good with a nice balance between the yeasty crust, the pungent cheese and the slightly sweet sauce. The mushrooms were a nice touch to add some extra umami to the pie. The pizza was well cooked, although I would usually like it a bit more well done. On the table is garlic powder, hot pepper, oregano, grated cheese and even some hot honey, so you can modify your pizza to your taste. The large pie made a nice dinner split between the two of us, we each got 4 good sized slices. Sam's is a great casual pizza joint, the atmosphere is relaxed, service is quick and we even had some very good live music to compliment our meal. If you are looking to get some good pizza and some beers you can't go wrong by heading to Sam's Wood Fire Pizza.
