We had my husband's retirement party at the banquet room. The room was set up beautifully, the waitresses helped us with the microphone and music, and were attentive to our needs as the party hosts. Then, the waitresses (Rechelle and Mary) took care of everything in such a professional way. They took everything off of our shoulders. They even commented about how nice the tributes were to my husband. There were 38 total guests in the lovely venue and it all went off swimmingly. It had been so long since we had been here i actually forgot we had been to anything except their brunch buffet. I don't think they do the brunch buffet anymore but it was really nice. We decided to have dinner here the other day and I am so glad we did. The waitress we had was phenomenal. She was so helpful and attentive. I love the decor here too! I ordered tortellini in bolognese sauce and my husband ordered the lasagna and we shared some orange cake for dessert. Everything was really good! First visit to Papagallos for my husband and I and we had a great meal. We called ahead for reservations and we were glad that we did. This place is very popular! We told them that I am in a wheelchair and they had a table reserved for us. (The restaurant is completely accessible.) The restaurant is really nice inside, very cozy feeling. Our waitress Sarah was terrific and very pleasant. I ordered the eggplant rollatini (YUM!) and my husband had the veal parm which he said was very good. Both were good size meals which came with linguine and a choice of soup or salad. I even had some leftover eggplant that I took home for lunch. We split the baklava cheesecake for dessert which was delicious! Prices are very reasonable. I can see why Papgallos is so popular. read more

My family of four dined here on a Friday evening around 5:30 p.m. The restaurant is big, and it quickly got busy and filled up, which is a good sign. It got very loud with everyone talking on top of the 70s/80s music that was playing. There were ample staff to keep up with the surge, and our waitress was attentive and pleasant, although toward the end a little scattered. The decor is fun, if not a bit dated. Bathrooms are clean. We ordered a garlic bread appetizer which provided 8 pieces of bread. We ordered the Chicken Marsala, chicken Parmesan sandwich, chicken Parmesan with pasta, and chicken Olympia. I had a bowl of flavorful minestrone before my dinner, my spouse had a house salad. Unfortunately my coffee was cold, but it was bold and tasted okay. They don't list non-alcoholic beverages on the menu or their prices. My spouse ordered just a plain iced tea, but we were shocked when the bill came and we were charged for each of the refills ($10.50!). My daughter ordered a lemonade, which came in a cute branded bottle. It was very good, not too tart or sweet. After dinner, we each ordered dessert: Choco cake which has a cute little mouse on top, the orange revani which was extremely sweet, and the limoncello cake which was by far the best of the three with a delicate flavor. The servings of food were generous and we were impressed with the quality, especially the chicken. We could easily cut through it with a fork. The sauces were pleasant and not acidic. For the four of our meals (with leftovers) and the tip (and the insane charges for the iced tea) we paid $197, which I felt was somewhat reasonable. I just wish they were more upfront about their beverage prices and refill policy. Most restaurants don't charge for tea and coffee refills. read more

The second Papa Parrot at the end of the meal was a little heavy on the Blue Curaçao, but was still very good. We ordered the Calamari Fritti to start our meal. Overall, the calamari was quite good. The coating wasn't too heavy or thick, and the calamari was cooked properly. However, it was a little greasier than it should have been. We both agreed that our entrees were fantastic. We had the Chicken Parmigiana & Chicken Marsala. The portions were spot on, the chicken with both meals was tender, and flavors of the sauces were excellent. The linguini was perfectly al dente. The Marsala wine sauce was some of the best I've had in a while. We opted to order a desert, which is not the norm for us. We chose the Baklava Sundae. The dish was plated beautifully and full of the flavor you'd expect. The bottom of the baklava was a bit hard, which made it difficult to cut and fork, but it was still good. Overall, it's worth making a trip to Papagallos for a great Italian meal. The atmosphere was nice, with interesting parrot-themed decor. I did not want it with pasta so they offered grilled vegetables instead or for a small up charge doubling portion, which is really what I was looking for. It did not disappoint. Absolutely love the restaurant. The food is always fantastic and there's singing about eating around a bunch of parrot statues that just adds to the experience. I had to ask our server and she told us they had a steak special. Not several steak specials, but just one. NY strip marinated in olive oil. I was skeptical since NY strip is good on its own, but since I can't eat pasta, I opted to give it a try. It was fine. Tasted like steak, but nothing special. For The price of $36 it was not worth it. Would we go again?. Possibly.
