Best for miles! Food was excellent!! Service was ok. Waitress a bit curt. Atmosphere was odd. Parrots all over... felt like a pirate ship instead of an Italian restaurant

    Drinks, Salads, bread w/ oil

3 adult beverages 1 appetizer 2 entrees 1 desert Total (pre-tax) $109 We began our adventure at Papagallos with a Long Beach Iced Tea & a Papa Parrot. Both were mixed quite well, perfectly balanced. The second Papa Parrot at the end of the meal was a little heavy on the Blue Curaçao, but was still very good. We ordered the Calamari Fritti to start our meal. Overall, the calamari was quite good. The coating wasn't too heavy or thick, and the calamari was cooked properly. However, it was a little greasier than it should have been. We both agreed that our entrees were fantastic. We had the Chicken Parmigiana & Chicken Marsala. The portions were spot on, the chicken with both meals was tender, and flavors of the sauces were excellent. The linguini was perfectly al dente. The Marsala wine sauce was some of the best I've had in a while. We opted to order a desert, which is not the norm for us. We chose the Baklava Sundae. The dish was plated beautifully and full of the flavor you'd expect. The bottom of the baklava was a bit hard, which made it difficult to cut and fork, but it was still good. Overall, it's worth making a trip to Papagallos for a great Italian meal. The atmosphere was nice, with interesting parrot-themed decor. It was a little loud and echoey, though not in an unpleasant way.

The food and service are always good. The feel of the place kinda reminds me of a Pirate's eatery in Port Royal in Jamaica.

The portion size is variable. I've had it "generous" and I've had it "Whoa - that's a LOT of food". They're not covered with a standard tzatziki sauce - theirs is more feta forward. Super tasty. The fries vary as well. Sometimes a bit crunchier and sometimes, while still crunchy, more toward McD fries style. But it's just the outer surface that crunches. Inside it's smooth and creamy. Top drawer. You'll find that they tuck a few fries into the wrap. A nice touch. The only negative point is speed. I've always been there early - the first for lunch. But it still takes a fair bit of time to get the food. Arrive during the crowded time and you're definitely going to be waiting around. But ... worth it. They have a lot more on the menu and have an interesting alcohol free beer/soda that was new to me and a nice change from actual soda. Definitely worth a visit.

This popular food truck serves up sandwiches & platters (falafel, shawarma, kabob), gyros, fries, hummus, grape leaves, baba ghanouj, meat & spinach pies, and baklava. I stopped by the Mohawk Shawarma Grill recently for dinner takeout. There was a small crowd of people standing near and in front of the trailer waiting for their orders. There was only one person working the trailer, so it took a while to place my order (7 minutes) and for my food to be ready (20 minutes). Once my food was all set, I enjoyed it in my car parked on the street. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma Sandwich ($7.99 plus tax) and a Gyro ($7.99 plus tax), which were both grilled to order wraps with tasty fillings. The shawarma sandwich was filled with tender pieces of marinated chicken, tomato, pickles, fries, and garlic. The gyro was filled with gyro meat slices, tomato, onion, fried potato, and tzatziki sauce. I will definitely have to stop by again for some kabobs next time!

I don't know if it's a consignment shop/restaurant but it really makes the vibe fun and different. We got two apps to split as we weren't too hungry and there was also only one vegan entree and I am not a mushroom and eggplant fan. The Ezme was so delicious and the fresh baked pita was as perfect! The hummus we got warm, which I'd never had before but it was also very very good, although the burst of flavor in the Ezme definitely overshadowed the hummus. The only reason for 4 stars is the server seemed to have forgotten about us. We never received any plates or napkins and we both ran out of water and were waiting to get some more. I ordered the Zeus gyro along with a side of fries. The fries came out piping hot, fresh, and perfectly seasoned. They were crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and honestly some of the better fries I've had in a while. A great start to the meal. The gyro itself had great flavor--the ingredients were fresh, the toppings were vibrant, and the seasoning was spot on. Unfortunately, it was lukewarm when it reached the table. The taste was good enough that I kept going, but I couldn't help but think how much better it would have been served hot. A gyro with that much potential deserves to come out at full temperature, and I was disappointed that it didn't quite get there. That said, the overall experience was still positive. The friendliness of the staff and the quality of the ingredients make me believe this was probably an off moment in the kitchen. I'd definitely give them another shot because the foundation is clearly solid--and when that gyro comes out hot, I'm sure it'll be fantastic. Worth a visit, and worth trying again.

I don't know what has changed, but it made me sad to see the quality of food had declined so much.
