I've been here twice, the menu is limited, if you don't want falafel, there really isn't much else. Yes it's vegan, besides the eggs you can add on, but if you like falafel and homemade sauce's, pita bread, and fresh house made pickles, it is really spot on. I make falafel at home sometimes and mezze platters. I've eaten middle Eastern food in many cities and this is some of the best falafel I've ever eaten. I am not vegan or vegetarian, but I enjoy things that are whole foods and happen to be in those categories. It's only open a few days a week, and it's best eaten soon after ordering. Everything is GF aside from the pita and the desserts . The bowl was fresh and falafel was crispy and flavorful. There was even a toppings bar with pickled veggies and olives. You can add any of their soups for $3 more. The limonana was pretty sweet though balanced by the sour lemons, and it's so perfect for a hot and sunny day. The sandwich was excellent, especially the pita, and the pita fries were unlike any fried pita I've had before, light and crispy with the perfect amount of oil. I haven't had Mediterranean food this good in the United States! The front fryer is falafel only, which is gluten free. The hummus is fresh, the pita is light and airy!! This place is incredible. I had the pleasure of trying Zohar's food for the first time at a farmers market back in 2015, and somehow his food is even better than I remembered! So FRESH! I got the Yalla Sababa, a loaded pita sandwich with crispy (but smooth inside) falafel, egg, fresh salad, crunchy cabbage, roasted eggplant, spicy jalapeños (optional), etc. The side of tahini was the perfect drizzle to add on top. The pita bread is homemade and is just so perfect - fluffy, soft, and a teeny bit stretchy. It holds the infrastructure of the sandwich well. I also tried the bread pudding - wow! It has chocolate, halva, apricot. A wonderful mix of flavors that was such a treat. The service was fast and friendly. You can tell the staff have fun at work and enjoy serving this amazing vegetarian food. The interior is beautiful - a photograph mural, lots of high-top seating options, upbeat instrumental music. It's very warm and welcoming. The location is very convenient right on Main Street. I absolutely love this place and only wish I lived closer! I've been here a handful of times and every time I come here the Yalla Yalla is spot on. You know why you see Five star rating across the board? It's because that is what this place deserves. I had the full pita falafel with fried eggplant and the three hour boiled egg. They have an ingenious machine that pumps out the exact same size and shape for their falafel. But more importantly, it's prepared properly and they fried it perfectly. The full pita had a spiced green sauce with hummus and a variety of veggies. Then I got to pour on as much tzatiki sauce I wanted along with and onion and pickled veggies. This is possibly the best falafel sandwich I've had anywhere - and I've had them in a lot of different places that are terrific. Simple menu, lots of flavor. Essentially, there's really only two options: everything in a pita (the Yalla Sebaba), or everything in a bowl with pita on the side (the Yalla Yalla). And with that, the options are customizable. The felafel is perfectly crisp on the outside and full of flavor on the inside. The homemade hummus is perfectly creamy and tasty in every bite. The pita is warm and doughy. It also comes with lettuce, cabbage, pickles, onions, and other vegetables. I'd suggest adding a little tahini on top. I got the Yalla Yalla, which came with 5 felafels on top of the hummus with pita on the side - All in all, it was very filling and so so good. I also tried their cardamom and halva chocolate chunk cookie , which was super decadent even a day or two later. The owner told us to move down the line when we tried to tell him the rest, so my husband gave the rest of our order to the cashier. We sit down, wait a while. Food never comes. I try to ask the cashier about it. She says we never ordered it. Owner starts rapid firing questions at me and telling me it's our fault, but not allowing me to respond. Way too aggressive. We finally get the food. It was fine--nothing exceptional. Pretty hard to eat on tables that are 12" wide, and harder still to enjoy after that treatment. read more

I also run a mental list of the best falafels out there and BREAKING NEWS! Yalla Vermont has broken into the the top 10 list! Perfect fluffy pita with perfectly fried falafel balls accompanied by fresh salad, lovely humus, a fried eggplant,very nice hot sauce (mild) and in my case a boiled egg. And as an added bonus, great service. This is as good at it gets! This one is worth a big detour for. I only wish I didn't live 170 miles away. Way to go Yalla Vermont! read more
