They really don't need this review because everyone already loves them, but I can't say enough good things about what the new owners have done with this place. For what it is, the food is awesome, the music is great, and they've decorated it so well--especially the backyard and stage area. They've truly done an amazing job. One of the cheaper options around town for getting food. The mix of tourists, locals, and ski bums makes for some good people watching. Sit back, grab a drink, and watch one after another as underage kids get their ID's taken. The atmosphere is relaxed but can turn into a party type when other places around town close. They've got a nice mix of regular non-fancy beers and local specialities like Fiddlehead and Heady Topper's Focal Banger. I tried the Philly Cheese steak and pretzel with cheese side. $3 upgrade for fries with the cheesesteak was the best decision I made all night. Cheesesteak was just ok, could have used more flavor but it was still decent. My friends all liked their food too. It's pretty standard pub fair and what you'd hope for in a place like this. My friends and I stayed for a weekend in Vermont just to get away from the city and saw that this was really close by our Airbnb, the staff was very welcoming and really accommodated to our party of 14 people! OMG, what a fun place and walking distance from the Gray Ghost Inn. Small but well thought beer selection and food menu as well. The Buffalo wings were fantastic as were the smash burgers. One of the worst hospitality experiences I've ever encountered. On vacation, went in with our party, and the bartender checked IDs by trying to snap them in half. When my friend's (age 27) very real ID snapped due to water damage, the bartender immediately raised his voice, accused us of lying to him, insulted our intelligence, and threatened to call the cops. The matter was sorted when the cops verified the ID, but throughout our time waiting we were continuously verbally berated as we tried to explain that our only driver had now lost their license. Incredibly rude, was clearly putting on a show for the whole bar and alienated a visiting family just wanting to support the Dover's local businesses. read more

If you want an ice cold PBR or local beer with great bartenders and happy people, stop at the DBaG. It's just a non pretentious bar priced right, some food on menu but not many were eating. Located a mile from the ski resort in a plaza. There is also a market in the plaza that sells Heady and Lawsons and some good sandwiches to go. The bar has merch so get a shirt or sticker for your collection. The people make this place what it is so bring your good attitude and stop in. If I could, I would leave zero stars. My boyfriend and I were visiting Mt. Snow and staying at their resort for Valentines Day. This bar was recommended, along with a long list of other establishments. Both my significant other and I are bartenders in Long Island, New York. We both have never experienced a worse bar experience in our entire existence. We ordered a second round at last call. We had our drinks on the counter by the pool table as we finished our game of pool. Our drinks were full and thrown in the garbage. So we politely expressed this to the bartender, who provided us with two more beers. And then proceeded to taunt and kick us out after tipping over 50% of our sales (as bartenders we take care of other tenders) and then PROCEEDED to speak extremely disrespectfully to us out while regulars were still there, as we were finishing a game of pool that we payed for. What seemed like a regular bar guest at the bar cursed us out and then threatened to kill me as she followed me into the parking lot. Neither of us have ever experienced the disrespect and threats for absolutely no reason, in the entirety of our bartending careers. The "higher up" or "bar manager" proceeded to curse us out as well as a female bar guest who threatened to kill me while I was sitting in my car about to pull out. HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT VISITING THIS BAR UNLESS YOURE A REGULAR. I never leave negative reviews. But a police report is in the works and I hope visitors from all over the country can understand that this bar does not welcome outsiders. The entirety of the staff was extremely rude. As Dive bars go, this is a classic! We stumbled upon it thanks to Yelp and since we were staying a few feet away in the Gray Ghost Inn, this was the perfect spot. The drinks are SUPER cheap (2 vodka sodas were $7) and they have a sound system to play some decent music too. Also awesome, they take credit card, no minimum limit! We came in around 10 pm, and there were like 5 people here on a Friday on Labor Day, then 11 pm struck and the place was bumping!! Everyone seemed to be a local or knew eachother somehow, but as outsiders we were not looked down upon. We were also lucky enough to have hit up all the bar games before it got too crowded. The hubster and I are pretty competitive so we pretty much had bar olympics as we went in on the air hockey, pool games and even the foozeball table (I let him win, since it was his birthday weekend). The bar also has a kitchen, some people were adventurous enough to order from. I was sitting way too close to the action and decided to just skip the possible food poisioning. I would highly recommend hitting up the DBG as it is fondly called here and most importantly checking out the cool wall of name tags of seasoned ski resort employees. If I could give this place a 0 I would. We went here knowing it's a local place but that's part of the charm. St. Paddy's night after a day on the slopes and having a great time - drinks and darts, all good. We were a part of six and two had to leave to go back to Two Tannery Road because one of us had picked up someone else's coat, but upon arrival back they were told they were "at capacity." Not a problem, however I could tell the bouncers at the door were looking us up and down and thinking about us tourists and whatever it is. I stood at the door and watched them let two guys in anyway, and when I asked what happened to the "policy" another man told me "they're locals." So apparently the $100+ we were spending on drinks is worth different because we were from NY - never mind that we stay in the Mount Snow area every weekend and ski and bring business to the local area. So if you're not a local, go elsewhere. read more

The Dover Bar And Grill (DBAG) really lived up to its name tonight. I wish I got the bartenders name so I could give him a shout out but suffice to say he was a true DBAG. I came in about 9:15pm on a Monday night and was told by DBAG bartender that he could not serve me because they were over the COVID capacity. That would normally be perfectly fine with me but he then he had the nerve to tell me that Dover Bar & Grill was actually 5 people over the legal capacity at the time so I would have to stand outside and wait until at least 5 people left. Being a good customer and respecting the COVD situation, I politely went outside and waited my turn. While waiting patiently outside by the door and watching the parking lot for any exiting customers that might have left though the back door, I was certain that the required 5 customers had not yet left. A new customer came up to the door, saw the "At Capacity" sign said to me, "well, we'll see who is bartending tonight and see if he lets me in." I watched through the window as the new customer walked right into self- reported over-capacity bar, got a beer in under a minute without any contract tracing and looked out the window laughing at me for following the COVID guidelines. I guess the COVID guidelines that we all live by and respect are subject to the interpretation of a DBAG bartender at the Dover Bar & Grill. Attention all international folks - The place looked cute and would be fun to go after a day of skiing/boarding, however, we couldn't get further than the door as they wouldn't accept my partner's german drivers license (he is pushing 30 yrs old and in no world could pass as someone under 21). The bouncer didn't understand the different dating order used outside the US (DDMMYYYY vs. MMDDYYYY), and since they couldn't read what the fields each signified (since it was of course written in German but wouldn't trust what we translated them to), they wouldn't let him in. Was pretty sad and definitely a case of small town ignorance and a little bit of non-US discrimination (their attitude towards me, a US citizen, vs. him was considerably different). We had our first Dbag experience this week on a short guys trip into the VT woods. The bar staff was overly kind, warm, super receptive to bar and self improvement suggestions and never put us in an uncomfortable situation given we were out of towners. The patrons were restrained, reserved and far from outlandish, one even asked us to play darts after an awkward bathroom encounter. The food smelled and looked amazing, especially the Pizza V. Ordered take out. The smash burgers were great! Fries were crisp. Service was fast and very pleasant. Very clean looking and inexpensive. They put the take out in hardened cardboard containers instead of styrofoam which allowed them to breath so the fries didn't get soggy. Also biodegradable.
