We hesitated to eat here because of the reviews. I'm glad we gave it a try! Staff was friendly, live music was playing. We ordered fish tacos, wings and a burger. Wings were perfectly cooked and the sauce was great. The fish tacos were fabulous. Burger was delicious, fries were hot and crispy. Used the ranch from the wings to dip our fries and it was awesome! We were all so hungry after a 12 hour drive to Stratton that I forgot to take pics of the food! It was great!

Grabbing some dinner after OCR championships

After racing in the NORAM OCR championships I couldn't wait to sit down and have a meal! We choose Bar 802 bc it was the first place we saw. We came in at 3:00pm and we were seated promptly. We've been here over an hour and I've only had water. I cancelled my pretzel appetizer because it was obvious the waitress forgot to put it in after it didn't come out after an hour. She seemed really chippy to say "yeah!" when I asked to have the pretzel cancelled. Cool thanks. I'm not going to spend $10 on a pretzel that took over an hour to come out. Never got it anyways. Still waiting on my my Mahi Mahi sandwich and side salad...no picture to share bc we have no food. I won't be back. Very disappointed.

Season drinks!

Best apres at Stratton! Great food, delicious original craft cocktails and friendly, competent staff.

This place is fine for a drink. But as do most people in stratton, I have a house. This is not the place where you'll find the typical 20 year old renter. Yet the owner of the bar is an absolute ass; he will barely ever greet you with a smile and will act like you are barely worthy of entering his establishment. What prompted me to write this review, last night he refused to allow in my 9 lb service dog, contrary to VT law. That being said, the rest of the staff is just amazing. They get 5 stars. Sadly an owner should be more gracious than his staff. Not the case here. UPDATE: I Called to speak with the manager. He is just rude. My dog goes with me everywhere. He refused to look at the documentation. The truth is other than flying there is no documentation for a service animal. The vests are bought on amazon. He had the number for my doctor. That it is only proof if someone wants to go that far. Attached is VT law and the ADA. Maybe he'll take a moment to read it and educate himself on the law and how to treat customers.

We've been in here a couple times for apres ski and it's a lively place. Great drinks! Yummy bites. Their wings have some kick a$$ flavors. Big fan of the garlic Parmesan wings. The sweet potato fries may have been the best ones I've ever had. They have plenty of potato but then plenty of crunch and crisp too. The mustard they serve on the side is a great accompaniment. Two thumbs up! The maple cider old fashioned is a tasty cocktail. Will continue to make this a regular spot for apres!

It looked pretty but tasted average. The brussel sprouts were just fried, no flavor, no balsamic, nothing. Bland ! The green beans were drowned in garlic which saved them. Espresso martinis were good. The yellow fin tuna appetizer was decent and the crispy rice it was served on was tasty. Still on the bland side.. more rice than tuna. We ordered a winter salad to go and it was literally such a joke of a salad, especially for the price. A handful of mixed greens, two tiny slivers of squash, a sprinkle of red onion, disgusting dressing, and a quarter sized amount of cranberries. Little 2oz cup of goat cheese (which was the best part). Absolutely laughable. We ordered the tartufo flatbread and again, just bland. Didn't taste any truffle and it just wasn't great. The best thing I had by far was the brownie with icecream. Definitely the best part of the gigantic meal we had.

For breakfast we enjoyed a bagel with lox, the breakfast sandwich and the eggs Benedict which we would order all again (in fact we did haha). For dinner we had a few wings and salad one evening and a more formal dinner for Valentine's Day. We had the lobster ravioli and the Braised Short Ribs which were absolutely fantastic. What made the experience that much better was our waitress Kate. We requested to have her a second night because of how fun, helpful and accommodating she was to us. On Valentine's Day a few things that could have put a damper on our evening were handled very professionally and we really appreciated it. Kate, if you're reading this, thank you so much for making our time visiting The Copper Grouse such an enjoyable experience!

However, we made it to their restaurant and it did not disappoint! The Copper Grouse had a very enticing menu so I was excited for this dinner. We started with the beef tartare app which was SO good that I cannot stop talking about it. I would typically go for a tuna tartare but this was excellent! For dinner, I ordered the Garganelli pasta dish. It was light and creamy. And ended the meal with one of their dessert specials that had white chocolate raspberry ice cream with strawberries - it was delightful. The restaurant itself was pretty cozy. Lots of high top and standard table seating along with a bar. They offered outdoor seating on the porch as well. There was also a fire pit set up outside with plenty of Adirondack chairs - I saw people drinking by the fire but I'm not sure if food is served in that area. Our server, Molly, was awesome!! Next time we are in Manchester, I plan to stay here - it's close enough to walk to town and the hotel / restaurant are highly recommended!

The prices are reasonable and the service is amazing!! I went recently and had Rachel and Nash taking care of me and they were amazing. Rachel is so bubbly and radiates happiness! Their drink menu is pretty big, they are an "open" bar but the liquor they use is made locally so they only use one brand so in that way you are limited BUT the drinks are still delicious. I had the Lady's Limoncello which is featured in the little boomerang I posted. They do give you complementary trail mix (not sure what to call it - can also be seen in the background on the video) and I think that's amazing. They don't have a food menu so it's nice to have a little snack while you drink. I came from out of state and I would love to go back. Loved the experience and the staff! Also Rachel makes an amazing pina colada shot!!! It was my friend's birthday and she made us a couple of shots and they were so yummy!!

But the first table we were offered was right in the bar, next to the entry we had just come in from the rainy night outside. The table was noisy, drafty and unacceptable. Fortunately one of our party said something and sure enough, there was a very nice corner table in a nice dining room in the back part of the house, away from the bar. Barrow House is a nice, fairly upscale, American menu. The tables were just far enough apart so we could hear one another without shouting. Barrow House is part of a collection of inns and restaurants in Dorset. It's sister establishment, the Dorset Inn, is just a hundred or so yards away at the town crossroads. I'd eaten at the Dorset Inn, but years earlier and have never been to the Barrow House. The menu was a pleasant collection of interesting choices in ample portions. We ordered the fig pizza for the table. I had some very fine oysters; some chowder was enjoyed, and we were intrigued and came thisclose to having the tuna nachos. Maybe next time. Wine by the glass and two Green State lagers, which for my order of the wagyu beef burger, that came with plenty of fries, enough to share with the table, was perfect. All in all, a pleasant and delicious meal was had by all. It's a fine gastropub, as it is called. You can sit in the bar and watch sports (something I would never EVER do, but chacona son gout!) Or you can have a fun table with friends in the dining room. The service was professional and gracious. From where we live, it's a reasonable drive. Probably one of the, if not the best places to eat within that radius. And we would eat there again. [It was good enough that no pix taken]

We were a group of nine that included a few children. We went all out. The clear soup was good and flavorful. The salad was fresh and we loved the dressing. The scallops and shrimp were meaty and perfectly grilled. Others got steak cooked to their liking and some got salmon. Apps were edamame and a dragon roll and spicy tuna. I didn't try the apps but it was a fancy presentation. Everything was just so good. The service was impeccable. The chef was super engaging with everyone, including the littles. Hibachi is always fun and they are pros on fun. They handled our group with humor and the theatrics you've become accustomed to at hibachi dinner were on point. We went there on a Sunday, late afternoon, and it was amazing. I also got a fried ice cream for my birthday with fireworks! Thank you! The restaurant is big and can accommodate large parties. I want to go back soon! I do want to mention that the person that was paying for this birthday dinner didn't realize that gratuity was already added.
