We hesitated to eat here because of the reviews. I'm glad we gave it a try! Staff was friendly, live music was playing. We ordered fish tacos, wings and a burger. Wings were perfectly cooked and the sauce was great. The fish tacos were fabulous. Burger was delicious, fries were hot and crispy. Used the ranch from the wings to dip our fries and it was awesome! We were all so hungry after a 12 hour drive to Stratton that I forgot to take pics of the food! It was great!

After racing in the NORAM OCR championships I couldn't wait to sit down and have a meal! We choose Bar 802 bc it was the first place we saw. We came in at 3:00pm and we were seated promptly. We've been here over an hour and I've only had water. I cancelled my pretzel appetizer because it was obvious the waitress forgot to put it in after it didn't come out after an hour. She seemed really chippy to say "yeah!" when I asked to have the pretzel cancelled. Cool thanks. I'm not going to spend $10 on a pretzel that took over an hour to come out. Never got it anyways. Still waiting on my my Mahi Mahi sandwich and side salad...no picture to share bc we have no food. I won't be back. Very disappointed.

This place is fine for a drink. But as do most people in stratton, I have a house. This is not the place where you'll find the typical 20 year old renter. Yet the owner of the bar is an absolute ass; he will barely ever greet you with a smile and will act like you are barely worthy of entering his establishment. What prompted me to write this review, last night he refused to allow in my 9 lb service dog, contrary to VT law. That being said, the rest of the staff is just amazing. They get 5 stars. Sadly an owner should be more gracious than his staff. Not the case here. UPDATE: I Called to speak with the manager. He is just rude. My dog goes with me everywhere. He refused to look at the documentation. The truth is other than flying there is no documentation for a service animal. The vests are bought on amazon. He had the number for my doctor. That it is only proof if someone wants to go that far. Attached is VT law and the ADA. Maybe he'll take a moment to read it and educate himself on the law and how to treat customers.

Best apres at Stratton! Great food, delicious original craft cocktails and friendly, competent staff.

We've been in here a couple times for apres ski and it's a lively place. Great drinks! Yummy bites. Their wings have some kick a$$ flavors. Big fan of the garlic Parmesan wings. The sweet potato fries may have been the best ones I've ever had. They have plenty of potato but then plenty of crunch and crisp too. The mustard they serve on the side is a great accompaniment. Two thumbs up! The maple cider old fashioned is a tasty cocktail. Will continue to make this a regular spot for apres!

It looked pretty but tasted average. The brussel sprouts were just fried, no flavor, no balsamic, nothing. Bland ! The green beans were drowned in garlic which saved them. Espresso martinis were good. The yellow fin tuna appetizer was decent and the crispy rice it was served on was tasty. Still on the bland side.. more rice than tuna. We ordered a winter salad to go and it was literally such a joke of a salad, especially for the price. A handful of mixed greens, two tiny slivers of squash, a sprinkle of red onion, disgusting dressing, and a quarter sized amount of cranberries. Little 2oz cup of goat cheese (which was the best part). Absolutely laughable. We ordered the tartufo flatbread and again, just bland. Didn't taste any truffle and it just wasn't great. The best thing I had by far was the brownie with icecream. Definitely the best part of the gigantic meal we had.

For breakfast we enjoyed a bagel with lox, the breakfast sandwich and the eggs Benedict which we would order all again (in fact we did haha). For dinner we had a few wings and salad one evening and a more formal dinner for Valentine's Day. We had the lobster ravioli and the Braised Short Ribs which were absolutely fantastic. What made the experience that much better was our waitress Kate. We requested to have her a second night because of how fun, helpful and accommodating she was to us. On Valentine's Day a few things that could have put a damper on our evening were handled very professionally and we really appreciated it. However, we made it to their restaurant and it did not disappoint! The Copper Grouse had a very enticing menu so I was excited for this dinner. We started with the beef tartare app which was SO good that I cannot stop talking about it. I would typically go for a tuna tartare but this was excellent! For dinner, I ordered the Garganelli pasta dish. It was light and creamy. And ended the meal with one of their dessert specials that had white chocolate raspberry ice cream with strawberries - it was delightful. The restaurant itself was pretty cozy. Lots of high top and standard table seating along with a bar. They offered outdoor seating on the porch as well. There was also a fire pit set up outside with plenty of Adirondack chairs - I saw people drinking by the fire but I'm not sure if food is served in that area. Our server, Molly, was awesome!! Next time we are in Manchester, I plan to stay here - it's close enough to walk to town and the hotel / restaurant are highly recommended!

The Veal was ok but seemed like it could of have been previously frozen. Not to mention, these two entrees alone cost us ~$80. The appetizers were far better than the entrees. And no, not any of the salads on the menu, the complimentary salad that is served by the restaurant. Service - There was one waiter for the entire restaurant. He was really nice and seemed like a good guy, but they probably need to give him some help. We were a group of nine that included a few children. We went all out. The clear soup was good and flavorful. The salad was fresh and we loved the dressing. It wasn't the typical orange ginger but a light dressing. Delicious! I got the shrimp and scallop combo hibachi and I love that it comes with both rice and noodles. Lots of fresh vegetables. The scallops and shrimp were meaty and perfectly grilled. Others got steak cooked to their liking and some got salmon. Apps were edamame and a dragon roll and spicy tuna. I didn't try the apps but it was a fancy presentation. Everything was just so good. The service was impeccable. The chef was super engaging with everyone, including the littles. Hibachi is always fun and they are pros on fun. They handled our group with humor and the theatrics you've become accustomed to at hibachi dinner were on point. We went there on a Sunday, late afternoon, and it was amazing. I also got a fried ice cream for my birthday with fireworks! Thank you! The restaurant is big and can accommodate large parties. I want to go back soon! I do want to mention that the person that was paying for this birthday dinner didn't realize that gratuity was already added. Their hibachi is always delicious, fun, & entertaining. Their chefs have more than a decade of experience and their teppanyaki skills really show it. Whether you're eating solo or with a friend, or a whole group, remember that you can still take a seat in front of the hot and flaming grill. However, you can still get the hibachi meals at a regular table but won't be able to watch the show (I highly recommend watching the show and enjoying the meal at the grill). They have great lunch specials and even kid's meals for those looking to keep the kids entertained. My go-to is their HIBACHI COMBO with STEAK + SCALLOPS. The chef will most definitely cook the protein to your liking. Not all hibachi spots include both fried rice and noodles in the meal, but Sake Bon does! The carbs are so packed with garlicky soy flavor, unlike many other places I've tried (bold, umami, and addicting...no kidding). The meal is complete with a side salad topped with the creamiest ginger dressing and a clear soup loaded with the perfect amount of sliced mushrooms and an onion flavored broth. Pair it with a nice cocktail, wine, or sake... you're all set! Their apps are also very generously portioned, so it's a good idea to share. It's always a great time with friends and family at Sake Bon. Enjoy their hibachi, sushi and sashimi , rice and noodles, plus so much more. Their fish is fresh and tasty if you like sushi and sashimi. Overall a wonderful Japanese restaurant that serves delicious food and drink that will leave you happy and satisfied. So grab a seat at their bar and enjoy some drinks and apps before heading over to one of their hibachi grills or dine at a table for an intimate and exquisite dinner.
