Been coming here for a few years now and just realized i never really left a review.... Welp here we go!!!!! To begin the welcomed my very large service dog with no qualms.... Already made me a regular.... With that customer service here is absolutely wonderful. Smiles, happy and interesting conversation and overall an extremely comfortable vibe. Located right in stratton village this is simply a no brainer stop. I had their smash burger and this thing was mouth watering!!!! Just greasy enough to add amazing flavor that melted perfectly with the cheese and crunched to perfection with the bacon on it. After a long day of being on the mountain, this place provided the opportunity to sit and have a beer along with some bar food. The best part was having the large screen tv to catch up with some of the games. The bar area was super packed and probably could have used several ore bartenders to handle the large group. I did not stay long but it was a nice place to kick back and have a drink and talk to other people. read more

Came here for dinner on a Saturday about 1 hr or so before it closed. Staff was friendly and its definitely a cool place but small. They stated first come first serve. No names taken down which was frustrating because if 2 seats are available on a larger table someone that comes in after you can just jump ahead and sit down while you continue to wait. Which is exactly what happened. Food options decent but man its pricey. $17 for a small coffee cup size bowl of chili is insane. Splitting bills. Apparently there system cant split checks over 3 people. Must run on Windows Vista. Overall if we were here again, id just grill out from our condo we rented. read more

We hesitated to eat here because of the reviews. I'm glad we gave it a try! Staff was friendly, live music was playing. We ordered fish tacos, wings and a burger. Wings were perfectly cooked and the sauce was great. The fish tacos were fabulous. Burger was delicious, fries were hot and crispy. Used the ranch from the wings to dip our fries and it was awesome! We were all so hungry after a 12 hour drive to Stratton that I forgot to take pics of the food! It was great! read more

Food was excellent. Place is pricey but worth it for good plates. The service is what ruined the experience. We came in with a large group and were utilizing 2 tables, started to order drinks and apparently didn't order food fast enough. Probably could have spent double the bill if the bar manager wasnt rude. So, basically half of our party had no place to eat and the other half who sat at the table got food. read more

Chicken tinga taco salad is my favorite dish in all of the Village accompanied by the blood orange cosmo. Fantastic and friendly bartenders.

Highly recommend this place for a laid back casual experience with outstanding food and more reasonably priced than some of the other options nearby. Try the brisket tacos that come with au jus on the side. Ridiculously good. Our group of seven all enjoyed our drinks and dinner and the service. read more

Meh. Drinks were not good, we tried three different ones. Green Chili Cheese fries were a little odd. Sauce was heavily watered down. Fish tacos were ok, can't really mess up things that are fried. Same with Fish Tacos. Expected more from a restaurant in small village if Stratton. read more

After racing in the NORAM OCR championships I couldn't wait to sit down and have a meal! We choose Bar 802 bc it was the first place we saw. We came in at 3:00pm and we were seated promptly. We've been here over an hour and I've only had water. I cancelled my pretzel appetizer because it was obvious the waitress forgot to put it in after it didn't come out after an hour. She seemed really chippy to say "yeah!" when I asked to have the pretzel cancelled. Cool thanks. I'm not going to spend $10 on a pretzel that took over an hour to come out. Never got it anyways. Still waiting on my my Mahi Mahi sandwich and side salad...no picture to share bc we have no food. I won't be back. Very disappointed. read more

This place is fine for a drink. But as do most people in stratton, I have a house. This is not the place where you'll find the typical 20 year old renter. Yet the owner of the bar is an absolute ass; he will barely ever greet you with a smile and will act like you are barely worthy of entering his establishment. What prompted me to write this review, last night he refused to allow in my 9 lb service dog, contrary to VT law. That being said, the rest of the staff is just amazing. They get 5 stars. Sadly an owner should be more gracious than his staff. Not the case here. UPDATE: I Called to speak with the manager. He is just rude. My dog goes with me everywhere. He refused to look at the documentation. The truth is other than flying there is no documentation for a service animal. The vests are bought on amazon. He had the number for my doctor. That it is only proof if someone wants to go that far. Attached is VT law and the ADA. Maybe he'll take a moment to read it and educate himself on the law and how to treat customers. read more

Still awesome but want to let everyone that their menu has changed and they are no longer serving pizza but their Mexican options are fantastic! The Guacamole is super tasty with a nice amount of lime. Also enjoyed their Calamari, very light panko and not heavy breaded and they come with a nice sauce and not the bright orange sauce that you often get. Also liked the empanadas but keep in mind they are fried, doesn't say on the menu but just incase you like the baked ones. Nachos were generous but a little light on the cheese but it was also soooo busy! read more

We've been in here a couple times for apres ski and it's a lively place. Great drinks! Yummy bites. Their wings have some kick a$$ flavors. Big fan of the garlic Parmesan wings. The sweet potato fries may have been the best ones I've ever had. They have plenty of potato but then plenty of crunch and crisp too. The mustard they serve on the side is a great accompaniment. Two thumbs up! The maple cider old fashioned is a tasty cocktail. Will continue to make this a regular spot for apres! read more

Alright. First and foremost, the pizza is amazing. The problem is getting that pizza in hand. We were recently there with a group of 10 people over MLK holiday. Disclaimer: I understand that this is one of the most notoriously busy weekends of the ski season. We started calling 802 at around 2pm to place and order for pick up- they either shut their phones off or purposefully didn't pick up so we went in person. We walked in to place a To Go order around 4pm. Line was out the door. While waiting in line for 20minutes, someone from the kitchen yelled that the wait for pizzas was over two hours. ROUGH for thin crust pizzas that should take 10 minutes to cook... but ok we were in, we had already been waiting. We finally get to the register and are informed that we can only order plain pizza or add up to 2 toppings. This was disappointing because they are known for their specialty pies and that was the reason we went. We placed an order for 3 pizzas and a large house salad. Drove back in the snow from the condo 2 hours later and they handed us 2 pizzas. When I repeated our order, that we had 3 pizzas and a salad, the frustrated cashier would only look again after I insisted on giving her my receipt. The receipt was not itemized nor had the order been repeated when we ordered it- it simply reflected the charge and had the receipt number on it. The receipt got us the salad (which was barely filled that we thought it was empty) but when ordering the cashier failed to ring up one of our plain pizzas. I waitress, I get it, we all forget things sometimes. BUT instead of apologizing, offering us a discount, giving us another pizza or salad, all that was said was "well you can take this or you can wait for a pizza- it'll be two hours". After we had already been waiting 2 hours?! We promptly told the cashier we would not be back in 802 again. It's busy, mistakes are made, but show a little respect for your customers who are waiting in lines and waiting 2 hours for the NON-specialty pizzas they are "permitted" to order. read more

Went for NORAM OCR championships. This is important to know cause it's during the off season and the mountain was running on a skeleton crew. This place handled it in stride and some. They stayed open later than all the surrounding places and handled groups easily. We packed it every night and they easily took care of all of us. First night I ordered a couple drinks and a slice from the connecting pizza place and it was great and fast. Perfect for having just got there and needing a bite. Second night I told the bartender I wanted to go through the Gambit of local drinks and he had recommendations for every style and tailored it to my flavor profile. The cauliflower wings were amazing and a large portion that I ended up having to split with others. They closed at 10 but allowed us to get finish up. Third night I got the eggplant parmesan sandwich and once again the portion was huge. Couldn't finish that either. We showed up about an hour before close but they got all the food and drinks out fast. There is inside and outside seating. The outside seating also has a propane firepit you can sit around. Highly recommend this place. It was fast and good and very affordable compared to the surrounding. read more

802 was an oasis in an other wise desert of food options at Stratton. Then came the revolving chef period. Hallmark Tater Tots gone!!! Porks Shanks another staple reduce to a plate of dry meat on a bone, added the Beyond Burger #gmogarbage. Only saving grace are the awesome bartenders! Management should taken into the woods, duct taped to a tree and doused with maple syrup after the allowing the afore mentioned culinary abominations to persist. read more

The waiter or the cook screwed up our wings order--my friends and I ordered 6 Buffalo and 6 Teriyaki. It was pretty obvious that the entire order had been tossed in teriyaki. Duh. Rather than redo the order, I guess he/they thought it would be just as well if they tossed half of them a 2nd time in buffalo. I have to say, I didn't find the variations on buffalo preferable. #sad. A plus--The fries were too generous of a portion for the 3 of us to finish along with our salads. Also, with 20/20 hindsight I suppose it was better --from a healthy eating standpoint--to get our salads first, then the fries, then the wings. Fill up on salad! 802 is one of Stratton's best bar / restaurants! We always make a point to visit when at the mountain. The food is outstanding, drinks are awesome & the staff is beyond accommodating! With Covid being such a scare i have to say they have done a tremendous job adhering to all the safety guidelines & we felt safe during the entire visit! We will be back soon read more

Walked into this bar the other night and was happy to see Maine Lunch IPA on the their list of beers soon to be on tap. The bartender then proceeded to tell us that they had Lunch in house and ready to go but just needed to kick another IPA keg (Six Point Resin) to get there. Sounds great right? Wrong!!!! Stop by the next day and there's no Resin on tap and it's been replaced by Maine Peeper (ok but nowhere near Lunch). Ask a different bartender why Lunch was not on tap and he tells me they never had it in the first place and are lucky when they get one. Bottom line: this place uses the false promise of a great beer to get you into their place to drink other, less deserving beers. Not cool!!! read more

I loved Bar 802! I went to Stratton for a long weekend and stopped by this place at least 3 times. Although Bar 802 doesn't have much competition in that small ski village, I would've chose this place over any other bar regardless! The staff was very welcoming and engaging. The bartenders talked to us just enough. You know, where it's nice to have conversations but not overwhelming where you're like can you not? The place itself isn't exactly huge, but there's plenty of seating available. It's cozy and just gives you a great feeling like "I love being in the mountains." The beer selection was solid and the prices were reasonable. The food items on the menu were surprising. They offered some typical bar foods, but also items you wouldn't expect like Korean short ribs. The food was priced definitely on the higher side, but everything we ordered tasted great. Each time we went, the place wasn't too crowded so we never had a issue with slow service, no seats, or taken bathrooms. So, I can't comment on how it's like when the place is swarming with people. Definitely a fan though! Will be sure to come back the next time I head up to Stratton. read more

Great hangout spot. The prices were a little steep until I noticed they had a burger and beer special ($8 burger + $4 beer), nice atmosphere, comfy seats, good beer selection. Only downside is that our waitress seemed a bit distracted so we were slow to get our second (and third) rounds, but overall a good hang at Stratton. read more

AMAZING. So happy this place opened at Stratton, the wood paneling and tin ceilings are awesome!! Just had a Ginger Libation on tap this weekend from ART COOP that was equally great. The bar serves a small menu (very tasty too) but the whole place also adjoins to a pizza place which allows you to go back and forth with drinks... plus the pizza shop allows kids. lunch recently, it is a smallish bar with an attached pizza restaurant though it is not really part of the bar area, the place is beautiful with heavy woods and a lot of tin ceiling materials in the ceiling(?) and on the bar, has outside seating....we had a blackberry arugula salad which was great and their 802 burger also great, i had ordered the tots but got the waffle fries so they got us the tots too, both were very good although i thing waffle fries won....food was great, service very pleasant and attentive (well it was early and they weren't very busy), and it was very attractive.....also had some huge tvs with the outdoor channel on which was much more interesting than what you usually see.....liked it a lot!! read more

Fantastic service by some great bartenders. They were very friendly and attentive. We got the nachos the first time we went... They were ok. We weren't a fan of the cheese sauce. We ordered a pizza the second time, and it was great! For the same price as the food in the main lodge, we would much rather sit and eat in this cozy bar. A very casual bar at Stratton which had 3 large TV screens with sports playing. Great set up and they had a good selection of draft beers, a few I had never tried before. Drafts are $6-8. There is also a pizza store next door that connects where you can buy slices and eat at the bar. read more

Went in to watch the National Championship game during a recent ski trip...our check was 200 dollars for two of us, and we each got the crispy chicken sandwich!! Oh we also had several cocktails!! The bartenders were good guys, the locals a good mix of friendly and stop invading our turf types, one local moved down to give us more room so we bought her a glass of wine.
