Stratospheric pricing, average (at best) food quality, and an insulting credit card surcharge left a disgustingly bad taste in my mouth. I understand that resort town restaurants and vendors are pricier, but Green Door Pub (also know as Mulligans) at Stratton Mountain Village goes beyond the pale. For example, $8 for a small bowl of miso soup, $8 for a small bowl of rice, $20 hamburger, $17 buffalo wings (and they're really small), and more! And to add insult to injury, they had the audacity to levy a $5.11 credit card surcharge. When I questioned this blindside it was quickly pointed out that it's stated on the menu. However, who looks for that?! This is the first restaurant I know of that imposes a card surcharge. And what's worse still is that the food is mediocre at best. Generally, I'm not a big believer in boycotting, but the Green Door management must be put on notice that these issues will not be tolerated. Sadly, the wait staff are ultimately affected because their tips may be adjusted for this inflation. PLEASE, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE until the food quality and rip-off pricing and policies are improved.

Monday & Thursday special for $6.99. Salad, mash potato, steak & beer.

Dive bar in stratton village. They have a 4$ deal on Narragansett beer which is unbeatable on the resort.

$20 for handing me a single high noon and also did not like the 20% tip. Very high prices, and poor atmosphere. I do not recommend.

The food is tasty, well sized portions, and surprisingly cheap for on the mountain prices.

We had dinner here one night we were in town. Everything is just okay. Since there's limited…read moreoptions on the mountain, I guess the restaurants can get away with the lack of seasoning on everything. I had an 8oz filet which was cooked perfectly but just bland. It looked pretty but tasted average. The brussel sprouts were just fried, no flavor, no balsamic, nothing. Bland ! The green beans were drowned in garlic which saved them. Espresso martinis were good. The yellow fin tuna appetizer was decent and the crispy rice it was served on was tasty. Still on the bland side.. more rice than tuna. We ordered a winter salad to go and it was literally such a joke of a salad, especially for the price. A handful of mixed greens, two tiny slivers of squash, a sprinkle of red onion, disgusting dressing, and a quarter sized amount of cranberries. Little 2oz cup of goat cheese (which was the best part). Absolutely laughable. We ordered the tartufo flatbread and again, just bland. Didn't taste any truffle and it just wasn't great. The best thing I had by far was the brownie with icecream. Definitely the best part of the gigantic meal we had.

Hubby reported his roast beef sandwich was great although the roast beef looked overcooked to me. What was dubious, however, were the French fries. They had a sort of mealy texture and a very odd taste--I thought they used coconut oil to fry but hubby thinks they coated them with baking soda, then fried. Either way I wasn't a fan.

It's slim pickings for restaurants open "late" (after 7:30 pm) in this area, so we were happy to…read morefind, and be able to make a reservation, at MacLaomainns. The inside is charming and has that old wooden bar smell that I like. This would be a great place to grab a drink on a cold winter day. Very Scottish, lol. We were seated immediately for our 6:30 dinner reservation. We each ordered appetizers, which took nearly 45 minutes to arrive, even the cup of soup. Mozzarella sticks were nothing special, the cheddar tomato soup was really tasty. My mother in law loved the cock-a-leekie soup, and my father in law liked his scotch egg. It took another 20-25 minutes for our entrees to arrive. For a restaurant that closes at 8 pm, it was surprising at how long the food took to come out. They must have a very small kitchen. Everyone in our group liked their meal. My "loaded vegetarian baked potato" was just a full cup of sour cream and cheese on top of a potato with lukewarm broccoli on the side. A bit disappointing, with there were at least chives or seasoning. Basically nothing else vegetarian on the menu so this was what I was stuck with. Desserts were good, especially the sticky toffee pudding. I would call this place a step above average in the area, but service leaves a lot to be desired.

The Veal was ok but seemed like it could of have been previously frozen. Not to mention, these two entrees alone cost us ~$80. The appetizers were far better than the entrees. We honestly could of ordered wings and French onion soup and that would have been a better option. The salad was the best thing they served us. And no, not any of the salads on the menu, the complimentary salad that is served by the restaurant. Service - There was one waiter for the entire restaurant. He was really nice and seemed like a good guy, but they probably need to give him some help. We didn't get our drinks until about 30 mins into being at the restaurant and the entrees took over an hour to show up. The two stars here are for our servers positive and friendly attitude. Final Summary Notes - DO NOT come here for a nice dinner on any given weekend or evening. Only come here for appetizers and drinks and only sit at the bar.
