I don't really get the negative reviews. I've been going to Mulligans for about 10 years and usually come a few times every trip to Stratton. It's always a fun stop with family and friends, the service is friendly, and the food never disappoints. The buffalo chicken nachos are huge, the sushi bowls are solid, and the drinks are great - the hot chocolate, hot apple cider, and the fun holiday drinks. It's not fancy, but it's exactly what you want after a day on the slopes. My husband has been coming here since he was a kid, so it's definitely a favorite for us. read more

The sushi bowls weren't decent but while the randy bowl had the best pieces of fish, it was a bit bland while the spicy salmon, which seemed to have Atlantic salmon despite the claim of being King Salmon, was more flavorful. This place is pretty dirty, meaning floors are full of food and candy wrappers. The food is very over priced. The ribeye stake is the best thing we ordered. Drinking are price 24$ for small martini. Once again, my husband and I made the mistake of coming here. Called early in the week to see if they were running their mussel special. The answer was yes. We got to the restaurant at 6:30. The very Pleasant wait staff came over and asked us if we wanted drinks. Of course their cocktail drinks have no prices on the menu. I asked her about pricing and she said if I told her what drink I wanted, she could tell me the price. Looking at the spirits list that did have prices, the costs were insane. My husband ordered a Vermont beer, a draft, which was $13. We went to order the mussel special, which is a great deal and we're told they were out of mus. Never again. We ordered takeout on 12/7. Kids tenders, a quesadilla and pretzels. Within hours my wife, daughter, then myself were violently ill. Not diagnosed by a professional, but according to the Google AI we had salmonella poisoning. I'll assume due to cross contamination. I don't generally leave negative reviews. I like to support businesses. This business, however, unethically imposes a mandatory 15% gratuity on takeout orders. Additional money to give my family food poisoning is reason enough to leave a negative review. I absolutely LOVE Mulligan's! The Sundown Bowl and the Pulled Pork Sandwich are my favorite things to order. I've been going to Stratton for many years and I actually can't think of another restaurant that I've went to for lunch. There has never been an issue with the waitstaff and they usually are very kind and helpful. I will admit that it can be very loud sometimes inside the restaurant but what else do you expect from a restaurant in the middle of a village at a big ski resort. I absolutely love it. If possible, it would get at least 6/5 stars. Also, when you're going skiing/snowboarding, it's a good place to stop and grab a drink after a long day or hang out and meet new people. Stayed in Vermont for a few days with the family. It was challenging to find places to eat as many were closed on Monday, Tuesdays and/or Wednesday's. Mulligans was open on a Monday so we decided to give it a try! It's located in the Stratton Mountain resort, in an area known as "Stratton Village" and it is, as You can imagine from the name, a pub with pub food....and then some. There was outdoor, covered patio seating, but we choose to eat indoor as it was rainy and humid. We were promptly greeted and seated. For one of the few places open on a Monday, it was busy, but not overly so. We started with the pretzel sticks and nachos. Plenty for 5 people. The nachos were huge and loaded. Dinner included the lobster special (2, 1.25 pounders, steamed for $28) which were enjoyed. I had the salmon salad, which was...okay....the salmon was over cooked, which I find typical at most restaurants. The salad was ample, but lightly dressed. Other orders included cheeseburger and fries, chicken wings (plain) and warm lobster roll, which, like the steamed lobster special, was ample, and delicious. The service was delightful, by a very accommodating server named "Susan" who was friendly, attentive and just an all around nice lady. We had fun, we left full, with leftovers and a good time was had by all....and we were thankful they were open on a Monday!! read more

Mulligans has pushed the limit on how much they can charge for average food and drinks for years. I have been willing to pay it for the convenient location. However, on my last visit they charged me an additional 4% fee to use a credit card on top of my sky high bill for lunch. I have never been to a restaurant that has done this. And be careful, because when you order a drink, even one that uses WhistlePig bourbon (~$60/bottle), the waiter isn't going to give you a fair warning that the price is TWENTY SIX DOLLARS. So I was just recently up at Stratton (probably my favorite overall mountain) and of course mulligans bar is a stop for me. Our first afternoon there (Friday) I brought my service dog , true employed service dog, and it was super quiet on the mountain and at the bar, enjoyable for sure and great environment for a young dog still working into perfection but extremely well behaved. I walk in and kindly ask if it's ok to sit at the bar with him, he will be underneath me between the chair and bar. The gentlemen says absolutely and we do exactly that, sit for about 35-40 minutes, I enjoy a water and one beer while my buddies eat and drink. All is well. The next day is Saturday, mountains mobbed and our plans involve an early depart around 1230 to get home on time for prior obligations. Again we stopped boarding around 1115 I go back grab the dog and return to mulligans.... MUCH busier upon entertaining, Kilo my dog, is a little overwhelmed with people walking in and out of the entry and becomes unsure of when to walk me through so what may have looked like a dog not too calm was a confused helper who got the drift with a little direction from me (his owner and operator at the end of the day). Again we are looking to sit at the bar. A new gentleman is now working at the front, he says we do not allow dogs in here and I state he's a service animal but if it's an issue I'll just leave I do not like to make a scene over things, he says "it looks like he may wreck my bar", I calmly state absolutely not he's rather calm, the gentleman from the day before comes in with perfect timing and goes oh no that dog was here yesterday you didn't even know he was at the bar. The other insulting and now overstepping man says well I need to see paperwork for him, for those who don't know... he literally just signed himself up for a discrimination lawsuit, but I produced it because again I won't cause a scene, not worth it to my health. He the. Makes me produce it, reads it and states ok he can come in but there may be people here afraid of dogs. Now I'm sitting no matter what and I may stay a little longer than I even want to because I prefer a calmer environment for myself and the dog anyway but just to make sure I win the war here. To top it off we find a beautiful positioned seat in the corner of the bar where literally every person loved kilo and was obsessed with how cute and well behaved he is. At 20 months old the dog is probably better behaved then small children running around the bar. Needless to say this post is simply to raise awareness to people and service animals. They don't come out perfect always they are a work in progress and you can't judge them by one moment of being overwhelmed because in that next moment he may very well be doing his job for me and saving a life so whoever was at the front welcoming guest.... In utter disbelief and wish I could give 0 stars. My husband and I got back from the gym and thought we would support local and grab to two salads on the way home. We ordered two Mountain salads with chicken to go. When my husband went to go pick it up the total was $70 (horrifying, even for resort prices, but we figured that it might be the best salad ever and didn't think to check them before leaving). Upon arriving home and opening our salads this what we found - a handful of spinach leaves, 5 small pieces of chicken, and a sprinkle of apple slices, cheap cranberries and bits of pecan. Absolutely disgusted at how this establishment takes advantage of a local customers. Will never recommend or come here ever again. read more

Wish i could give -10 stars. A group of 7 of us went out tonight, with 2 of them working for the mountain. We told our server Katie right when we sat down. Our bill came to $420 without tip. Each person had a meal and about 2 drinks each. We thought that was outrageous because while the food was good, it was dramatically overpriced. The card came back and an extra $16 was slapped on for using card. We still left a 20% tip and as we are walking out Katie stopped us saying that we should have told her that 2 of us work for the mountain, and that she could have given us a 25% discount. But we did tell her, so that was outrageous and downright greedy. She just wanted a higher bill so she could've got a high tip. Well Katie I hope that costs you your job, as a fellow server I would NEVER scam a guest like that. And we will be calling. read more

I struggled between a three or four star review- my family and I have been here on sushi nights and we have loved it, but tonight we went to dinner for regular-fare and it deserved three. My family and I are vegan, and we were able to eat a couple things on the menu (with modifications). The only thing clearly labeled vegan on the menu is a chilled cucumber soup appetizer, which we didn't try. Instead we split a salad, quinoa crumble fajitas (no cream or cheese), and a flatbread pizza (no cheese). The salad was disappointing, as we found a rather large stick in it, as if it was plucked off the forest floor and placed in our bowl. We got a new one and it was decent. Definitely better without the bonus twig. Fajitas were actually really good with the modifications- definitely the highlight. Flatbread was tasteless. Since nothing was clearly labeled, i'm not sure if it was truly vegan. I would love some more vegan options since we are local and would be going much more often if they had clearly labeled dishes. As of now, it's not very suitable for plant-based eaters. read more

Came here the other night. Had a nice experience. The inside of here smells exactly like an old bar. The outside seating was much more pleasant. They have reasonable prices here. Also have a wide variety of food and cocktails. They have a raw bar and a sushi bar. Also sell burgers and sandwiches. Their chowder is amazing! I totally recommend it. Their oysters are fresh. I had the watermelon and burrata salad. Was super fresh tasting and delicious. The summer they serve a nice white sangria. Would come again! Also it is close to the gondola and other shops in town. Mulligans is in the perfect place for when you come off the mountain and you need a bite to eat or get a drink that the bar. It's right in the middle of Stratton's village so it's amazing! The food is always good. The poutine is amazing and we always order it. Other items I would recommend would be the ribs or the starter wings. Also it is connected to a sushi place so you can get sushi if you don't like bar food as much, big plus! During seasons like fall/ winter when the mountain is packed it can be hard to get a seat quickly. Definitely should make reservations if you want to eat at a certain time because we waited 1.5 hours for a seat one day. All together the workers are very nice. Ok. First. I'd say this place is an absolute solid 4. (I rarely give a 5 ) During my visit to the area I came here three times. Two of those it was relatively slow and one time they were absolutely 100% slammed So let's talk about the time they were slammed. They did an exceptional job of informing customers of how long the wait would Speed for takeout ( I was sitting at the bar for takeout orders were placed). That being said, the bartenders were able to keep up with the orders placed and preparing the drinks. It was amazing to watch Now for the food. The first time I was here I ordered the signature burger. I ordered it medium, and since they realize I was doing this takeout, they put the order in as medium rare knowing It will continue to cook once boxed Wow, how often do you see that proactive thinking? If you are on Stratton Mountain this is the best place to go. Good food, an extensive beer and cocktail menu and a great ambiance. They have a nice little sushi bar on the top floor, a beautiful long bar on the main floor and the basement " Green Door Pub " is awesome for wings, beer and pool. During the winter season this place is rockin' on the weekends but during the week it is a chill place for a drink and/or meal. We go to Stratton year round and always eat here. They added a covered outdoor heated patio bar. We had a drink out there when waiting for our table. Nice and toasty while the snow was falling around us. It is a bit pricey but, for the best restaurant on a classy mountain, I feel the prices are correct. read more

I don't know where to begin. But I am sure glad that there was an end. We left before we even finished our drinks. From the very start, it was terrible. The hostess, Patty, should definitely not be the first person a customer should unfortunately see. She actually shouldn't be seen at all. She was rude from the get-go. Not only to all of us that were in the hostess area, but also to her co-workers. It was very uncomfortable for us to see how she was with them. We all just kind of looked at each other not knowing what to do. Then it continues to go downhill. Our waitress was awkwardly inappropriate and silly. It was very apparent that she was drunk. Laughing, she admitted she was. She said that there are a few of them I like to "a few" before and during their shifts to get through the night. I couldn't care less that she was drunk if she was still able to perform her job. She was all over the place and annoyingly chatty. Apparently she wasn't lying about others being drunk. A tall guy was delivering food to the dining room. He just plopped the food in the middle of the room and left without telling the waitress. The food was sitting there getting cold and being exposed to all the germs from the people walking by. This lasted for about five minutes. We'll often come here for a drink after skiing or if we are visiting Stratton in the off season. The inside is nice and they have plenty of tables and an upstairs seating area. The bar is a good size and service has always been friendly. We haven't had a meal here, but the apps we've ordered have been tasty. Plenty of good beer on tap! Including a lot of VT brews. Service is always prompt and friendly. We seem to always end up here after lunch and before dinner during non holiday periods, so crowds have been minimal. It's easy to get in and get seated at the bar. You'll meet some nice people here as well. Seems we always end up chatting with some folks at the bar. read more
