If you're tired from being on the mountain and just want quick dirty food and a beer than this is your spot. If you're not too tired to taste your food.. than keep walking. It looks like a cool looking spot that should have tasty pub fare but it didn't hit the mark. The burger was dry and flavorless despite boasting locally raised beef. The fish sandwich wasn't consumable. The batter was soggy and not seasoned and for some reason they had melted American cheese on-top... weird. This place is also pretty expensive, nothing on the menu is less than 15$ which is more than one would expect for pub fare... Drinks are decent with lots of options on tap. Try Vermont own magic hat or a maple liquor hot cider! read more

First time at this restaurant!! We've eaten here twice in three days because the food is amazing great great selection they even have sushi on the menu which was absolutely spot on delicious!! From the bartenders making great drinks to the waitresses Maria was so friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu!! so friendly nice great atmosphere! Meh. That is what comes to my mind if you said to me " hey we are in Stratton VT, wanna go to Mulligans"? Don't get me wrong, I'd probably go if for no other reason than there is not much else to do in Stratton VT on a Friday night in August. Hey at least the beer is cold and plentiful. The food however is meh. It's not awful, but it doesn't stand out either. The chicken is chickeney, the fish and chips is, fried and not good for you, and the cole slaw is inappropriately warm. The kids ordered clam chowder and it was ok, not legendary. And that is kind of what you get at Mulligans. Everything is ok, nothing is outstanding, and you get the sense that this place gets by on being one of the only games in this pretty small town. The kids liked the ice cream, and we appreciated the waitress telling us that one dessert is enough for 3 kids, and it really really is. You have been warned. *disclaimer* my wife just saw me writing this and objects to the "meh" rating. She says she very much enjoyed her chicken dish and thought it was quite tasty. As there aren't too many options to try at Stratton mountain, My girlfriend and I headed here on our first night. It was exactly what we expected: average pub food, and a bit overpriced. We started with the thai spring rolls, which were ok, but obviously frozen. We both had burgers (hamburger and a veggie burger), and both were satisfactory. This place does not have good reviews but my fam bam and I really enjoyed this place! We came here during the "off season." We were on a fall foliage tour and Stratton, VT is one of the places that we hit up. Mulligans was in walking distance to our hotel and only one of two options for eating. Anyway, they had a $15 stuffed lobster special which was DELICIOUS. It was sooo good and soooo cheap. I also ordered their french onion soup which was tasty. Mom ordered NE clam chowder which was solid. And my brother ordered some sausage/broccoli rabe pasta dish which was not bad either. Our waitress was excellent. Mulligans is a solid Pub in the heart of the village. Despite all the bad reviews we went there few times and it was really good. The place is very cozy, huge bar. There are also big booths and an upstairs with a balcony. We got there to get few drinks, everything was close to perfection. They also have hot wine which is rare to find in NY which is always a plus. They have a nice happy hour and good bar food. If your ever down in Stratton this is always a nice place to grab a few drinks. read more

We enjoyed our meal. Service was excellent, our meals were good and the portions were generous. My husband had the prime rib special which included dessert and salad. I had the pappardelle with shrimp, sausage and broccoli rabe, easily enough for 3 meals. The only negative was that dessert was $9.00. Husband and I dined here during a ski getaway in January. We visited mid-week and chose Mulligan's because it was walking distance from our hotel. The food was good: i had the onion soup, turkey ciabatta and a glass of chianti; my husband had the chowder, 14 oz steak and a specialty beer. We each had a specialty coffees for dessert, which were terrible. Way too sweet. I was frustrated by the prices. First, there are no prices on the menus for the specialty drinks. Their Bloody Mary's look great, but you have no idea what they cost. Dinner here cost more than our dinner at a fine-dining establishment the night before. A turkey sandwich should not cost $14. The restaurant is also showing its wear. Our table top was coming apart, and the decorations in the place are covered with dust. It's a fine place and good location. But if you are up for a 10 minute drive, go visit the Perfect Wife. You'll get a classier meal, in a beautifully appointed restaurant for less. read more

I have been a loyal skier of Stratton Mountain for about 40 years and now I am a home owner on the mountain. I love the mountain and I have always found the customer service amazing. I am constantly raving about it, but today, the hostess at Mulligans in the village left a very bad taste in my mouth. I have never been spoken to as I was today. I waited over an hour for my table and my buzzer went off as the rest of my group was arriving. Since a couple of people were parking, I was told to step aside until the whole party arrives. I did so, but when I came back a few minutes later, she told me i would have to put my name back on the list as they don't hold tables. I explained that my party was parking, which was why everyone was not there when the buzzer went off. She then got nasty and said " I cannot a stand here talking to you about this. Step aside lady, I'm done with you." I never once raised my voice, but I was treated as though I did something terribly wrong because I thought we would have a few minutes to gather our party or at least be given the next available table. Even if I had to back to the end if the list and wait another hour, I should never have been spoken to that way. read more

This place is great for 1) convenience 2) beer and 3) nachos! It's not particularly special but after a long day on Stratton it's a great place to crash. They carry Glutenberg gluten free beer which is great! It's fairly family friendly so there are many kids running around. My visit was in mid September which is not high season for a ski resort, that said, there was ample staff on hand to handle the onslaught of folks that came in within 1/2 hour of each other and filled the dining room. We were all attending a dance event and there was a dinner break. When I came in with my friend, for a reserved table, there was no one in the joint. We were joined by SOME of the table, but the others sat elsewhere upon arrival. We thought perhaps our server was unaware of that since she served several other tables between our drink order and even coming back for our food order. We had to reach out and stop her to get her to take our order. Once she did come for the order she was terrific and PATIENT as we asked for separate checks up front. She managed quite nicely to take the order, but messed up 4 of 8 orders. We adjusted except for one that had to wait while a new Lobster salad was produced (which was excellent and HUGE) 4 of us ordered burgers and ALL of them were not per our order. All were overcooked. I asked for mine mooing and it wasn't even pink on the inside. The others ordered medium and the burgers were so overcooked they were hard. We collectively were not impressed but survived just fine. The server was a hoot and moving as fast as she could, they teamed up well too. I had a small chowder, and burger and fries, and 2 soda waters, my bill (with the included 17% gratuity) was $27. Not great considering the quality of MY food, but others had excellent quality food at the same table. Go figure? Maybe the chef is just lousy at burgers! read more

Stratton isn't like Stowe where you have a nice little town with at least a few decent dinner options after a day of skiing. When you stay at Stratton for the weekend you're at the mercy of the few restaurants in the mountain village within the resort. Mulligans is a two-level eatery with the ambiance a half step up from Applebees. There's also a bar in the basement with live music, but it looked a bit sketchy early in the evening, perhaps we were too sober. The menu is typical pub fare, but the good news for celiacs is that everything is marked with GF. Despite the menu markings, I'm not entirely convinced anyone is too familiar with the allergy, nor am I confident that they really do have a dedicated gluten free fryer so I'd stay away from the fries. Good draft beer selection downstairs and we had no complaints about the service. The food was ok, but nothing overly memorable. Burgers and fajitas didn't disappoint, but also didn't really justify the inflated Stratton mountain prices. read more

This restaurant was really disappointing. All of the other negative reviews are spot on. The food is mediocre at best (although the sushi bowl was pretty decent). Our appetizers ALSO never came out. When we alerted the waitress she gave zero fucks and never apologized. Once the food was delivered she failed to check on the table once, or she may have noted that my entree (soup) never arrived either. We we received the bill, the soup was still on it. We asked her to remove it and AGAIN no apology or at lease an acknowledgement that she cared that one of our party did not get their food. They charge a $5 fee to split an entree which is pretty ridiculous. Don't waste your money here. There are plenty of other better restaurants. read more

I highly recommend that lobster special. The restaurant was not well air conditioned, but it had decent beers on tap and was accomodating for a large group. We ordered our lunch, and kept it pretty simple, wife got a grilled cheese and I a buffalo chicken sandwich(both of which were around$15).What arrived on my plate was a grilled chicken breast half heartedly "pulled" with half still in breast form. Absolutely no flavor either, seems as though they just added a free drops of hot sauce on top. Ended up just splitting the grilled cheese with my wife, leaving the mess o' chicken on my plate for the server. I have got to agree with the person who simply said meh. The ambiance is that of a unique Applebee's, the table placements are odd, and the food is unremarkable. I've been there twice and while the service has been great both times, everything else is so bland that it's not quite enough to save it. The last time we went, my party of four got seated at an odd table on the second floor in the corner of a hallway. Anyone going anywhere else on that floor walked right past us eating, and right next to our table seemed like a good place to stop and wait for the rest of your friends to catch up to you. It was very bizarre and put a damper on my meal. The Green Door Tavern downstairs is a total dive. We went there instead of Grizzly's because they had a Grateful dead cover band, but I definitely wish we had gone to Grizzly's instead. There was a $5 dollar cover, not mentioned until you got to the door. And not 5 minutes after getting there I was cornered not once, but twice, by a completely wasted guy trying to hit on me. The patrons when we went were all either totally drunk spoiled 20-somethings, or older people enjoying the band. The drunk ones have no respect for personal space and no manners. I almost got into a fight with a girl when I asked the guy she was making out with (the same guy who cornered me earlier) to give my boyfriend and I some space and stop knocking into us. If I could give it 0 stars I would. The OWNER is a HORRIBLE human being.. honestly the most rude person I have ever met and threatened to fight my entire family outside at 4:00pm. The situation: We are a family of Eagles fans and Giants fans (I know I know don't judge us). We first arrived on Saturday night and had dinner with a lovely waitress where the total was 800 plus tip (only telling you this to keep in mind how Much we have spent) Then as football fans know Sunday was football day. We arrived at 2:00 for the second half of the giants cowboys game. When we checked in with the hostess(who was very nice) I explained (in my Eagles jersey) that I was an eagles fan and I wanted a table where we could stay and eat and watch the Eagles game at 4:00. At 4:30 the waitress explained to us we would need to leave at 5:30 for dinner reservations. I asked VERY NICELY to speak to the front desk or manager because I had previously specifically asked for a table or that I would move to a new table to watch the game. Again keep in mind we AGAIN just paid a $350 bill as the change of servers happened. This is when it gets bad.... the OWNER comes up SO rude .. also keep in mind we have children with us.. he tells us that he doesn't care what the front desk told us and we need to go. After I nicely say we understand there are reservations and we are willing to move to any other table .. the owner says " don't really care" you need to leave at 5:30.. when we explain how frustrated we are and that he's being a jerk .. he says you want me to fight you outside?! Yes .. I am not exaggerating.. As we left he yelled " guess what losers I get to eat here tonight and you don't" What makes it worse.. 3 staff members apologized nonstop to us for how rude he was. My husband Peter and I are visiting the town for a couple of days. We came to this restaurant last night around 8pm for dinner. He ordered himself wings for an appetizer and some beers and I, being almost 9 months pregnant, ordered hot tea, pineapple juice and fettuccini alfredo. He said his wings were all right but the celery he had on his plate was very old and saggy. You could band it in all directions and it would not crack and spill juice like fresh celery does. Yayks! My hot tea was more like a warm tea, because as soon as the waiter brought the cup I was able to stick my finger in it without getting hurt. My pineapple juice was dark orange color and smelled and tasted of can that was opened a long time ago. My pasta with sauce was disgusting, but being hungry I ate a bit over half of it. Peter was upset with me already for complaining about the tea, juice and pasta that I shut my mouth and tried to enjoy the night. When we got home I started feeling ill. I took some Tum's but they were no help. I went to sleep and woke up after an hour with a huge tummy ache. It is almost 2am now and I just violently threw up in the bathroom. All there was was that disgusting pasta I'd have never eat. We were charged $20 for it - which pisses me even more now to think I paid any money for something that made me, a pregnant woman so very sick. It is absolutely not acceptable to provide such poor service and low (old) quality food, charge so much money and get people sick. Very disappointed and NOT recommending this place. Please stay away! UPDATE: Just called the place and spoke with the manager Teddy/Patty? She said she didn't have any complains about that dish and basically suggested it wasn't their fault. I told her I went to my doctor to make sure the baby is ok and she started asking about stool tests which I didn't have since even the doctor said it's clearly food poisoning. At the end I told her that I left my review in social media to which she responded with "that wasn't very nice to do that but I understand you made your decision". It was the end of if. Not professional or pleasant - I an considering calling a food inspection on them. RESPONSE TO THE OWNER: I didn't want to make a mess but with your immature response, I am absolutely reporting you to a local health department for inspection. They are obligated to inspect once someone calls, so better get busy and get your filthy place and spoiled food in order! I'm not sure if the sushi restaurant is included in the Mulligan's bubble restaurant but it is really the saving grace of the establishment great rice bowls quick to the table and when your table is quiet and eating you know it's good, don't expect much from the Mulligan's wait staff you will know more about the menu than they will and if you order a drink you better enjoy it unless you feel like setting of a firework display to get a refill sushi is a 5 Mulligan's experience is a hard 2 , they have decent specials at least great big open space to dine in and always some people eating here in full ski gear ,easy to get to and they have a nice patio option in the summer. read more

I have been to Mulligans every year when we ski at Stratton. Today I had lunch with my son at the sushi bar. We ordered bowls. There was barely 2 bites of fish and my son order crab added to his salmon bowl. I was shocked when the bill came and was 57 dollars. The additional fish was $12 And the extra spicey mayo was $2. When I spoke to the manager/ owner he had the nerve to tell me they don't give away food. And he further told me that others would be insulted if warned about the up charge if $12 .
