Ugh. Absolutely revolting atmosphere, rude staff and over priced mediocre food. First time we went was due to Grizzly's being closed because of a kitchen fire and Mulligans being like the next best thing. We had ordered a Beet and Fennel salad and after the meal was finished and the bill paid we had mentioned the to the waitress the salad was missing fennel (fennel being a distinct taste you can't miss it) to which she replied rudely "well what do you want a ball of fennel to take home". That's not how you reply to someone who isn't looking to get anything off their bill just left you a hefty tip and was very patient with your lazy waitressing in a slow restaurant all night. The second time we thought hey we will give this place another chance. There was a bit of a wait so we headed down stairs to the Green Door Pub which looks straight out of your high school friend's basement including the dirty fog machine which wouldn't pass health code and 2000s era rave music. I look young so I'm used to getting ID'd, yet the temperature was close to 7° I had several layers on so I was searching for my ID. The "bouncer" a kid playing pool with a beer in his hand walked up to me shoving his pool stick directly in my face saying I need your ID now. In any establishment in which you need a bouncer or an employee to check for identification they should never be intoxicated or in a game of pool they should be at the doorway or entrance and establish themselves properly. Overall this establishment needs better management and training for their employees. This would help the cleanliness and other problems that most people here have mentioned. read more

Came here in a group of 3 for lunch after coming the night before for dinner. Both occasions were great and were exactly what we were looking for. The lunch was Sunday afternoon for football and Kristal was our waitress who did a great In accommodating us with drinks, apps, and meals for the games we wanted and even set up a TV upstairs with the sound on for us. After a long day on the slopes, we decided that good pub food and craft beer was exactly what we needed. After being seated upstairs we were offered a great selection of local, domestic, and international beer choices that were both on draft and bottled. Colleen and Trish (exceptional waitresses with excellent recommendations) suggested we try two local beers which we absolutely loved and paired well with our food (but really what beer doesn't go with fries and burgers?). After a quick trip to get the beers, Colleen took our order of a burger and fish and chips. The food was delicious, arrived quickly and efficiently and was thoroughly enjoyed. We would definitely recommend Mulligan's, if you're into a sit down meal that's both delicious, affordable (coming in from NYC, everything is) and paired with an excellent staff - this would be the place to go. read more

Waitress took drinks away prematurely and they charged us a shared plate charge since we opted to get our kids and entree rather than a kids meal and then they chose not to reimburse us. This place is horrible!! To start off the service is terrible. She counted wrong for the drinks and gave us the wrong stuff! The manager was also cursing in the pub too! I have had breakfast, lunch and dinner at this restaurant and have had no complaints. The food is what I expect and the service is great. I always ask to be seated with Bethany, as I have found her to be a very attentive and pleasant server. I have observed this to be a decent place to bring a family into, even though it has a sizable bar, it doesn't have a "barzie" atmosphere. Awful! Rude people! Will not accommodate ANY food allergies! We arrived late after being on the road for 6 hrs. One person in our party had an allergy to peanuts and treenuts. We asked the hostess if it would be safe to eat there since nothing but the salads had nuts and they did not use peanut oil. Well she could not have been more rude and lazy. She said that it wasn't safe to eat here and they could not accommodate the allergy. Even though the only nuts were in the salads! Some guy (maybe the manager) was standing there and we asked him as well. He said that the kitchen was "crazy" and that food is "flying all around the kitchen." Wow. Have NEVER met a restaurant from VT to NYC to Chicago and Los Angeles that isnt willing to work with us on allergy safety. Obviously we didn't stay. They recommended another resturaunt across the way that was closed. Wow- can't even begin to tell you how rude these people are. I highly recommend you eat ANYWHERE else simply due to the obnoxious hostess and manager. I hear the place is pretty average anyway so no loss. read more

Overall great good. Waited about 1/2 Hour in a Saturday night so not bad. Pulled pork nachos were incredible. I had the New England clam chowder which was great but portion was small for 10 bucks ( a cup size). Kids had 1/2 portion of ribs which they loved. Mac and cheese was a bit dry. Drinks - margaritas were excellent but 15 bucks each - guess I should have expected it. Still talking about the nachos a few days after the fact. read more

Nice chill "tavern" in the Stratton village, offering variety of menu items from pub (boneless buffalo wings, quesadillas) to full entrees (burgers, steak or pecan encrusted salmon). Larger than it initially appears- the basement is the Green Door pub w/ the same food menu available, 1st floor is the main dining room, 2nd floor overlooks the 1st and has windows that offer a great view of the sunset. Decor is quirky- green walls, mascot-like black bears on a chair lift hanging from the ceiling, mounted deer heads, hanging guitars. Surprisingly affordable, given how expensive everything at the resort is. I ordered "burger with the works" but w/ a black bean burger patty instead- mushrooms, bacon & swiss- and came w/ delicious spicy steak-cut fries. Huge portions, great flavor in the bean burger- one of the best I've tried. I also tried one of their giant hot chocolate alcoholic drinks- very sweet, more like a dessert, but good value with the huge glass for $8. My sister had an apple jack cider and that was delicious...I should have ordered that! Service was friendly, quick and accommodating for my "special" order. I've been here a couple times previously, with pleasant experiences, and this time was no different- I recommend! read more

Was doing a show at Stratton Mt, stayed at Black Bear Lodge and ate 2 nights at Mulligan's. Great choice! The food was very good. The serving portions were large. The price point was reasonable. The staff was beyond friendly. I sat at the bar and it was busy and fun. The Vermont Turkey was awesome. Had the fish and chips the second night and have to say it was the lightest battered fish I'd ever had with a fish and chips dish which was great. Just delicious. The bartender made my drinks just as I requested. Would definitely go back! read more

Absolutely no substitutions ! Sad meal $ 15 for burger no bun (by my own choice). And no other health option allowed instead of fries . Won't go back better to go to Fireside or Grizzly's where they give you and option for your side - especially when health is involved . read more

Wow they cannot make a steak. How do you make the inside rare and the outside taste like charcoal?

My friend and I stopped in to Mulligans at Stratton Mountain on a recent Saturday afternoon for a relaxing cocktail. There was no one else at the bar. We each had a cocktail ~ nothing special or top shelf. The bill for 2 cocktails was $27!!! This probably explains why there were no other people at the bar. We won't go back again and after speaking with other locals, they all had the same complaint. If Mulligans doesn't want the business of locals, they are doing a great job! Bar tender did not seem to know how to ring up the bill, I fear I may be charged twice on account of this. the special prices did not ring up and had to point it out, besides happy hour is ILLEGAL in Vermont so their beer special from 1 tpo7 pm on Sundays is also illegal. read more

This place is AWFUL! The hostess, Patricia, and manager are completely rude and openly curse at patrons. They are on some kind of power trip or something but we have never been treated so poorly at a restaurant. The larger hostess was not very nice. The room was close to sauna temperature. They were out of most popular beers. We asked to move to the cooler room but the hostess refused and was not at all cordial. The food was awful and over priced. I DO NOT recommend eating here for the horrible customer service. From the pathetic service to the sub-par quality, over-priced food, there is almost nothing good to say about this place. It seemed as if our waitress was nonexistent as we had to ask multiples times for each request made. Unless you want to be pissed off while getting ripped off, stay away. Very disappointing. $70 for 2 orders of wings an order of nachos and an order of loaded fries. Don't mind paying if the food was good but it was NOT. The loaded fries were really soggy and the gravy tasted like Alpo. The nachos came in a GIANT portion, but there was barely anything on them. Overlooked, dry cheese, like 4 pieces of diced tomatoes. Silverware was dirty. Waitress did not smile once. She probably knew the food sucked. Sorry for the bad review but I am not a picky eater and this food was of poor quality, and highly overpriced. read more

Our party of 9 ate at Mulligans in Stratton Village on New Years Eve 12/31/12. We've owned a home here at Stratton for years & have young kids....we've eaten at most restaurants in the area & we must say, Mulligans is awful. Food has gone downhill & the chef is equally awful. There were 4 of us adults & 5 kids. We ordered a variety of dishes. While we weren't as unfortunate as the prior reviewer on this site, we did have another family in visiting AND it was New Years Eve, so we were all expecting a halfway decent dinner. First, when we asked for bread & butter, we were told "we're out of bread & butter". 2 things to keep in mind here: a) it was New Years so were paying an expensive pricefixe per person for dinner & b) we were eating early (6:30/7pm) so excuses of no bread left are unconscionable. After we expressed surprise at no bread & butter being available considering the $$ we were paying, our waiter, equally surprised, sympathized with us (we had 5 starving kids) so he returned to kitchen to recheck on any bread & was promptly excoriated (chewed out!) by the nasty chef! Only after we found the manager & expressed our surprise did she find 1 measly bread basket to somehow satisfy our 3 combined tables of 9 people (not!). Now, I wouldn't be submitting this review solely on account of the bread debacle....3/4 of our adult dishes were incorrectly prepared (ie we asked for no marinara on one, it was served with tons of marinara), burger was ordered "medium well" (it was served rare), french fries served with another dish were flat-out stale. etc. Kids ordered plain pasta with butter (it was served disgustingly drowning in big pool of oil). It was a disaster of a meal. When we expressed our major disappointment with the meal (particularly where it was New Years, we paid $$$ for pricefixe, & we had friends in), there was no attempt to help, apologize etc. Nasty, awful chef + uninterested management = one restaurant that, despite relying solely on its primo location in Stratton Village, may nevertheless shut its doors one day. My fiance and I spent a couple of days in Stratton and were more than disappointed at Mulligan's. I was excited to try the Baked Stuffed lobster deal but had no idea what we were in for. My lobster was burnt...stuffing on top was burnt as was the actual lobster meat. Baked too long. Basically there was very little meat as it was burnt to the shell. My fiance's guinness stew was served luke luke warm with corn bread that was hard as a rock! Upon complaining to the Manager politely, I was told that she wasn't willing to remove the charge for my meal as "it looked like you went to town with your meal so I won't be able to take off for that"! Can you believe it?! There was no meat to eat, the shells were broken! My fiance later showed them his hard as a rock cornbread and also stood up to the Manager for her inappropriate comment to me about going to town with my meal. This was one of the most horrific customer service experiences and service we've ever endured. Spoiled the rest of our night. They are also overcharged for pub food (which is really terrible). I'm guessing that the only thing they are probably good for would be for their beers/drinks. Otherwise, don't waste your time or money here. If I could've given it no stars I would have. read more
