Had a belt replaced and a tune up back in October, and today (Jan, 8 2020) the belt snapped. I walked my moped over to the shop. They replaced the belt and didn't charge me. I have been using them for over 2 years and never have a complaint. Always great service and honesty. There were times they didn't charge for certain things, or discounted as well. Friendliest folks you could work with, and FAST service. I recommend them to anyone! read more

Can't say I'm surprised by the already abundant low reviews. Came here to get a safety inspection. The guy literally huffed and puffed as I pulled up. :| it was uncomfortable and awkward considering you would think a small business would actually want customers-- especially now?He told me the cosmetic damage on my moped (worn side paneling and a turning signal light isn't covered with plastic) would prevent the passing of a safety inspection. This is false- and he was very rude about it. There are tons of these inspection stations on island so I just left. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

My moped stopped working after it sat for a while. This placed towed my moped for $15 (flat rate) from my place. The guy initially said he didn't know how long it would take for them to repair it, but would give me a call when it's ready for pick up. I rode with the tow guy to the shop, and walked next door to get my nails done to pass the time by. 15 mins later, I get a call and say my moped is up and running! Talk about FAST service. Turns out my engine wires were a little loose so they tightened everything up. Paid $40 for labor/equipment and $15 for towing. Overall spent $55. Cheaper than expected. My moped is also super fast now, so kudos for them for the great service! Not giving it a 5-stars because they're not really welcoming or friendly, however they do get the job done. Not sure if I'd go back, but glad they're open on Sundays. read more

I called them to ask if they do safety checks. They informed me that they did and I proceeded to ask how much it would be and if I had to make an appointment before coming in because I did not see that information on their website. I was hung up on and they the man I spoke to called me back without realizing it and I overheard him ranting to his coworker about how he's sick of people like me wasting his time and asking stupid questions. Our conversation lasted about a minute and for someone who has never done this I thought they were fair questions to ask. I work in the tourism industry and get questions all the time and love to help. I can't ever imagine treating someone way this man did. read more

This place gets my business. Robert is knowledgeable, resourceful, punctual, and straight to the point. As long as you're straight up and don't dick around you should have no problem. I was straight up about my situation and what I could afford. And he knew exactly how to help, what to do (even when I didn't know the own brand of my moped )and my beast is up and running again like a charm. I've been having Moped troubles for a few months now (I don't ride it often so that's also a huge contributing factor) but it finally stopped working so I called Moped Doctors on Saturday and the woman who picked up the phone was so nice and validated me. She also said that they were doing a pick up in Hawaii Kai that night so it would work out to pick up my moped as well. I was ready to pay $200+ for pickup, and they only charged me $30! Robert (Moped mechanic) came to pick up my moped right on time and just got some basic information on my moped and it's problem. He said he'd have it done by Monday (I told him to take his time but they are so efficient). Monday morning I got a call about the issues (cylinder head mainly) and Robert told me how much it was going to cost. I gave him the go ahead and everything was done a few hours later. I wasn't able to get the moped until the next day which was no problem. When I came into the shop I was greeted kindly and Robert showed me the issue with my moped. Now it works great and has no problems. Very thankful for Moped Doctors and would greatly recommend. Thank you! read more

I live in Waikiki and had my moped die while over in kahala on a Sunday. They came right away to pick up the moped and had a diagnosis in less than an hour and half. They worked with me to figure a best solution and once a decision was made, fixed the moped in a very timely manner. One of the few (maybe only) places open on a Sunday. Avoid this place at all costs! I went there for an oil change and ended up with major issues with my moped. The staff is so rude and look like they hate their jobs. The mechanic only speaks Japanese and needs the front desk to be the interpreter- one of those situations where you know they are talking bad about you. I picked up my bike and on my way home I got stalled. I immediately called the shop- they wanted to charge me a tow fee to bring it back to the shop! I ended up having to take it to Quick Fix (which I'd highly recommend) and they told me there was no oil which cause the bore kit to break??? It wasn't worth it to me to call Moped Docs to complain so I just ate the cost. Stay away!! read more

Yeah the women in the front do seem unfriendly because I think they don't understand English very well, just enough to get by. The mechanics is an older guy who can't speak a word of English and the younger guy who is kinda rude but they get the work done. They trouble shot my problem and got my moped running fine again. They had it for two days, changed out two parts and the bill was less than $100. I was surprised. read more

Robbie was very helpful and quick with helping me find the right moped. The prices are very fair, around $500 for a used one and $900 for a new one. Bought a used one and it already had the paperwork done on it. He not only gave me free repairs but also gave me a lesson on how to ride. I really recommend coming to buy from this place! read more

I called them and i just wanted to ask some questions for my moped, the guys talking so horrible!!!!!!!

I took my moped here to fix a squeaky noice coming from it and they were absolutely horrible. The worst custom service i have ever experienced, rude, demeaning tone and overall horrendous experience going here. And after this terrible experience which led to changing the clutch housing for 80$ even though i was quoted $50 ...my moped now won't start and it's leaking gas ONLY 30 MINUTES after service. Never had a problem with it until i went here, so conclusion, these people literally charged me to break my moped. I later got it inspected by someone else who told me the gas hose was CLIPPED. read more

I'm writing this review because I feel like this shop doesn't deserve the 2 star average it has. They do the work quickly and well, and will tow your moped for only $15. The only problem is that you have to be very specific about the work you want done, as they will usually only do exactly what you ask. Overall they are very friendly and transparent about the work they are doing and the cost if you ask. I asked for them to pickup my moped and they came almost immediately within 15 minutes. My moped wasn't starting and had other cosmetic issues that needed repairs and they had it almost good as new within an hour. I took my moped here over the past few months whenever it broke(very often) because they don't require reservations and are usually able to get to your moped rather quickly. However, as the months went by and my moped continued to break like clockwork while my friends' didn't, I started to take notice. Took my moped into another shop after my "new" $50 belt broke in two months and confirmed that this place uses used parts in their repairs. Also, my brother bought his moped here and Not 5 minutes after we got home an employee of the shop rode by and took a long glance at it parked in the driveway(they take address when you buy the moped). This guy is the WORST that works at this shop "short Asian dude without any hair, always wears cloths that looks like he's been wearing since the 80s and we're even old 5 years prior " , I have a list of things about how horrible this place is but let me start of by saying how horrible his product is, the second you drive off with what you think is a brand new moped that you think will last you at least a year your wrong. You have a 50/50 chance or less coming back within that next week for something going wrong in your moped and he will try to gouge you of every cent you own to try to fix it and I can promise you he won't "he is a professional con artists", you'll be back the next day arguing with this di*** over why the hell you spent $50 to get your moped running for a day. It was pretty funny when I first came to the shop I was talking to my friend saying "man there's a lot of people at this place" thinking he runs a good business but the more and more I go back to get my hunk fixed which is every other week I have seen the roots of this place and everyone there is getting there's repaired as well. They replaced my CDI box for $40 and when I tried calling the guy to see whether there was some sort of coverage he got irritated and started yelling at my as if I were stupid. This place is absolutely horrible, if I could give it zero stars I would. Avoid it at all costs! I've been coming here since I bought my moped and they always nickel and dime every little thing. Took my moped in because I lost the keys and had to get a new set. Dropped my moped off with a quarter tank of gas and after I picked it up it was full, strange. Drove it home and the next day it was not running right, it had water in the gas tank. So after they filled it with what I assumed to be water and changed the gas cap to fit the new key I took it back thinking they would right their wrong. I was very wrong as they argued everything saying they don't put gas in mopeds without charging for it and that it must have leaked in through the gas cap even though they just replaced the gas cap. Also the owner or mechanic or whatever he is doesn't speak a bit of English so the desk lady had to translate everything from him and they were very rude the whole time, the type were you know they're taking about you right in front of you. They were even laughing while speaking Japanese and gesturing towards me saying I'm crazy. After refusing to pay the fee for cleaning out the gas tank they said they would pour water back into the tank to return it to the condition it was in before being brought in. Absolutely horrific way of doing business! I will never go back and am disappointed I ever went here. read more
