I went to the Waimanu Street location this week to get some work done on my older kymco super 9 moped that I was returning to the street after sitting unused for 2 years, and I could not be happier! I've been to the other/old moped garage location some years ago and was pretty pleased, so going back to them was the first thing that came to my mind when I knew I needed help again. Definitely don't sleep on this shop! I dropped my moped off unannounced Monday afternoon and had it back Tuesday afternoon. KJ was primarily the one I was working with, and he was so helpful, patient, and really looked out for the best interests of me and my moped! I talked with two of the shop workers and they were so nice and friendly as well! They handled my safety check (and gave me the super important information I needed, like getting an appointment with the state to handle the registration within 28 days), installed a new front tire, replaced my battery and checked the charging system, and totally fixed (flushed) the front brake line which were totally full of air and non-functional. My moped is back on the road, she runs great, everything works great, and I couldn't be happier! I'll definitely go back to moped garage the next time I need any help. Guys here are friendly and I got no problem with folks doing honest hard work but these guys quoted me 5x the cost what The Moped Shop on Kapahulu quoted for the same job. Also said it would take 2-4 weeks vs 1 hour turnaround. They also charge $75-90 inspection. I've had tune-ups here in the past and these guys are very professional. Depending on your perspective, it may come of very salesman-y. Again they're pretty friendly but tried to take us on a big guilt trip when we told them we found a much better price. They seem to be pretty busy so good on them but if you need a more affordable option look elsewhere. read more

The salesman at the Kalakaua shop seemed to be a honest store keeper. I was looking around at different bikes to buy, I came across the one that seemed to fit my needs, the shop owner said if I have good credit I would get good interest rate, I have a 750-780. I asked what's the cc's on the Fiddle he said the Sym Fiddle is 200 cc's. I purchased bike and asked about servicing, he said the first service is free which is nice seeing I'm spending $4,800.00 with this company, I picked it up the bike in a few days and brought attention to the shop owner that the cc's ( displacement) is 167cc's, he back peddled like a sleezy salesman and said oh yeah they market the bike as 200cc but really it's less. Ive been riding motorbikes since I was 10yr, I am now 50yr, so nearly 50cc's I'm loosing on this bike from this sleezy salesperson stings a lot, and just a note, 50cc mopeds are 47-49cc's, so I'm loosing a whole mopeds power. I get my first bill, stating a late charge, I called the company and they had my old address, the shop owner took it off my license without double checking with me if it's current and my INTEREST RATE IS 14%!!!!, I don't know what world that 14% interest is a good rate!!!! I've hade the bike for almost 3months and my oil light comes on, I schedule a service and I go in the next day and they are wanting to charge me for this service. I told them the guy that sold me this bike said my first service is free and I've only had the bike for two months and the oil light is on so it should be covered by warranty if anything because it's under 1000 miles and I've only had it for two months . They don't take it in for warranty. They say we don't know if it's covered under warranty we have to look but service to the bike will cost me money. I drove away, extremely disappointed and upset at this whole situation. I went home went online looked at all the oil light is on and what I have to do and it's a simple fix They said if the oil was full and clear, it's fine and all you have to do is click the oil light button a couple times to turn it off. They said it turns on for service at 400 miles and that's what I did. These guys that Moped garage are rip offs scam artist sleazy salesman and are not upfront with their customers. I spent $4800 with this company. I could've bought five mopeds with this money at 14%. I encourage everyone not to go to these guys, they have no Aloha , no integrity an extremely shady!! Probably one of the better deals you'll find for mopeds here. Although, it won't be name brand, the vehicle will still get you places. They're not here to make a buck off you. So be prepared to know what you want cause they won't beg for your business. That's what was frustrating was feeling like they weren't friendly enough or like they just wanted to get you out of there. Maybe it's a cultural thing? That being said, they were great with answering my questions and were patient with me thru the moped buying experience. Even tho they seemed annoyed with my questions haha.. LOOOOOOOVE these guys!! If I could give them a million star rating I would!! First time I bought a moped with them the owner was kind enough to teach me how to ride one (since I've never been on the road with a moped before!!! How terrifying) and he also made sure that I was comfortable and good enough to be on my own and even gave me some helpful road tips. Sadly, my luck when it comes to vehicles isn't the best lol couple months in I actually got into a moped accident and I came in the next day (first hour they opened) and explained to them what happened and they were able to fit me in their schedule as a walk in AND FIXED EVERYTHING... IN JUST A COUPLE HOURS!! the repair didn't cost an arm and a leg either and they were even kind enough to wait for me to get off work so I could pick up my fixed moped!! (Shop closes at 5:30 and I get off at 6:30..) Fast forward to a couple months later (/// today) I came back to the shop because my moped was stolen and at the same time I didn't have my car anymore either because Firestone broke it so I'm over here DEVASTATED and STRESSED worrying about transportation (hard not to worry when you work 7 days a week and don't live around town) and I didn't have enough money to get a new moped either since I spent it all on car repair & towing so I ended up walking in again around 4pm and explained to them what happened and THESE ANGELS were kind enough to work out something with me and I ended up leaving the shop with another moped!!!!! Moped Garage has been nothing but AMAZING to me and although my review is a little late, I can definitely say it is 100% genuine and I wish I had more money so I could tip everyone at the shop because you guys are honestly a life saver!!!! Added options and alteration available to certain models and what to expect in regards to maintenance. Bad experience. Went in to have them connect two fog light wires. Lights and harness were already mounted by myself, just needed one wire to connect to the low beam wire and one wire to connect to the high beam wire. They claim they had to completely redo the harness installation. Okay, that's a few zip ties. They could not accomplish the wiring needed, they told me that Honda changed the headlight's electrical design and that my bike was SHIT (yes, quoting the owner). They claim they spent over five hours on my bike trying to hook up two wires and taking off the plastic fairings. In the end, they could not connect the wires the way I wanted them to or the fog lights would not work. So they charged me $311 anyway. I've seen YouTube videos of fog lights installed in the Philippines that worked with no special wiring or problems onto the same bike as mine. I guess it's back to researching the internet on the proper (if any) wiring for the lights. read more

The gentleman who assisted us, Mark, was courteous and informative, taking the time to give my son tips for maintaining and operating his new moped safely. I was impressed by Mark's emphasis on safety, particularly with regards to always wearing a helmet and guarding against complacency. Edited Review: So I've had my scooter for about three weeks and the left brake handle broke and i discovered my head light didn't turn on one night. Both were fixed but they tried to charge me even though I was told I got a "30 day guarantee" on my certified used bike. I had to remind them. What really made me bummed was when I stopped by and asked if they could remove the stickers on my sister's and my moped bc we're going to paint ours. I was told it would cost $30-$35 in labor per bike bc it would take 1/2 hrs. per bike to remove a total of 6 stickers...sure buddy. Do I look stupid to you? Get home and my husband did both bikes w a blade and soapy water in under 5 mins. Blade cost me $2.49 at City Mill. I would have likely paid $10 tops to have my stickers removed by Moped Garage. The fact that they tried to hussle $60 out of me for sticker removal took away from how well I respected this shop. Original Review: I came in wanting a used moped and bought one within an hour. JP and his guys serviced the moped and made sure everything was perfect before I left. Even got a scooter wash! They also talked story with my sister and I while we waited. Not to mention adorable Yuki the guard dog to hang out with you. I wont go anywhere else for my scooter needs! JP and his guys do it all. New /used/ rental scooters, helmets, locks, accessories, repairs. Plus they are honest, fun guys to hang out with. Got my moped for $545 with lock. Great buy. They will overcharge you, SCAM! They are basically the worst moped shop in town. Brought my moped here because of proximity on. Friday. They said i'd be fixed in a day since they had to bring it to their actual shop. The following Wednesday it wasn't fixed yet. Then is when they told me that looking at it, before they do any work whatsoever, will cost $37, then working on it will be another $75 per hour for labor plus any pieces or anything else needed. I hd told them what was wrong with it but they did not listen. Man these guys know how to do business! The owner J is probably one of the most easygoing people I've ever met. And his crew are a bunch of super intelligent hardworking machines! He is more than happy to answer any question or concern you might have and talking you through each process with upgrades / parts etc. After visiting the shop J kept in personal contact until he found the perfect bikes for my husband and I. Then had quick response time for any questions we had along the way, even after he made the sale! He even made a free personal late night delivery with one of his guys and ate the extra cost of having to paint it, after missing the deadline by just a day due to unforeseen issues with wrapping the bike. (Bc I was picky with the color) J and his crew take the extra step to make sure their customers are completely educated and satisfied. ZOOM ZOOM A fun way to get around the island is with a Moped!!! I picked this place because it's not in the dead center of Waikiki and for someone like me who has a car, much easier to find parking in the area than other locations. The rental ranges from ~$35-$45 depending which model for 4hrs. I never rode a moped so had a quick lesson prior. We can go anywhere with the moped and I refused to wear a helmet. I guess it's not mandatory to wear helmets on the island. 1) always lock up your moped on the islands. The locals know how to break into them 2) never leave belongings in the moped compartment when you step away 3) have a ton of fun!!! I had so much fun just cruising around on a moped. My ex left his Kimko AK50 in the guest parking stall of my building after loosing both keyfobs. Building management was getting on my case to move it and all the towing places I called told me they couldn't move it without the keyfob. The only place I called that actually came down to see if they could help me with the bike was KJ from Moped Garage. Hands down best moped shop in town! All of the staff are so helpful and friendly. Today was my second time stopping by the shop (to get my new license plate mounted), and although they only had to remount the plate, they wipped off some grease marks on my moped and even added some air into the tires. Although these seem like miniscule tasks, most other shops wouldn't bother taking the extra time and effort to help you out.
