WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! I asked him to change both tires, change fluids, fork seals, brakes, change out chain, and put on stock front turn signals. It took him 2 months.... And he didn't even complete half of the work. After calling him and texting him numerous times, I got 1 update via text about a month and a half into it saying my bike was almost done. After another 2 texts messages I sent him he finally calls and says "I-only did your rear tire and rear turn signal. You can come pick your bike and take it somewhere else!" I picked up the bike today and he charged me $600... for 1 tire and rear turn signals. A RIPOFF AND A JERK! Go there at your own risk. read more

I needed tires and a chain for a used bike I had just bought, and a co-worker of mine recommended Andy's. I spoke with Lisa at Andy's before going in and she gave me several different tire options along with prices to help me decide. I went in on a Saturday with no appointment and there were 2 bikes ahead of mine. Andy had me fill out some paperwork, and then I was offered a free canned beverage from their cooler while I waited. I noticed a lot of repeat customers dropping their bikes off for service, which speaks volumes to me about the quality of a person's work. I watched Lisa at the front counter spend a significant amount of time with 2 walk-ins who were shopping tire prices. She asked about their bikes and riding style and then gave them several options explaining the pros and cons of each one. Regarding some of the negative reviews about Andy's customer service skills, let me tell you that if you haven't lived in Hawaii long then Andy might come across as being short. On the contrary, he's just a local guy with a small shop that's trying to help as many folks as he can. He's not going to chat it up with you and stroke your ego. If that's what you need, head over to one of the fancy multi-bay showroom dealerships. Andy is going to get you in and out. Once my bike was on the lift, my tires and chain were mounted in no time. The mechanic took it for a short ride in the area to make sure everything was good to go and I was on my way. First things first, I didn't make any appointments. I shot Andy and email saying what needed to be done, and he said to pop in on Saturday at 10am - so I did and he took me in right away. Second things second things second - I actually dropped my bike in an adjacent parking lot right as I pulled in (literally first time I dropped my bike). Tried to do a u-turn in the parking lot, hit front beak, and slowly but surely laid the bike down on its side. I couldn't pick it up so walked over to Andys shop, and he came right out, picked up the hike, and brought it to the lift to complete my servicing. Bike is fine, literally had a scraped handle bar and like, three small scratches, and a bent shift lever. Third thing - I originally came to get my chain and sprockets replaced (brought my own), but was also able to fit in a front tire replacement at the same time. They took my info, I sat around for 45minutes and next thing I know, my bikes got a new chain-sprocket and fresh front tire! They even checked out my bike post-drop to make sure everything was in working order and bent the shift lever back in place. Friendly staff, thorough and thoughtful. Quick and the prices, for the promptness of service, is an unbeatable value. I will be coming back to get my servicing done at Andy's, time after time! What an surprisingly amazing experience! I'll be honest I don't know a lot about bikes even though I have one. Though I do know much about bikes, I do know how to do research and that's how I found this shop. There were so many genuine positive reviews. It's a little hard to find, especially if you don't have a GPS mount and you're riding a bike. I kept stopping and had to check my the GPS in my pocket. I Went around the same building three times and then finally looked carefully at the pictures on google maps and noted a flag pole in the pic and used that as my landmark. After that it was smooth sailing. You need to drive past a dark covered area then you'll see the shop hidden on the left side. As I was parking my bike a gentlemen working on a bike asked if I needed help. I told him my situation and he sold me on a new pair of tires. I asked what his name was and it turns out he's Andy! It's his shop. He's a man wrecking crew! He said I can get them done in about an hour. Sure enough he personally put them on himself! Not only was I impressed by his skills and professionalism, but he was a really nice guy. I probably could have hung out there for another hour just talking story. Andy's replied that they didn't carry my size and that I had the size wrong. I think I should know my own motorcycle, especially since the size is marked on the tire and also in the repair manual. DON'T GO HERE. WORST PLACE TO GET YOUR BIKE FIXED. I called in to ask if they could replace my front tire on an old dual sport. The gentlemen (assuming it was Andy) seemed bothered, was unfriendly, and condescending as I asked questions. Regardless I dropped the bike off anyways giving the benefit of a doubt, the guy was probably busy and having a bad day. When I went to pick the bike up, it didn't start. When I asked the bigger set gentleman with glasses (again assuming this was Andy and the guy I talked to on the phone) he gave attitude stating "Well I don't know what's wrong with it." I replied, "Sir, you are the bike mechanic and you worked on it. Could you help me figure out the issue? Because it started fine when I dropped it off." He then replied, "I don't know your bike. I don't know how it is wired, I was hired to replace your tire." He offered me a jump, and when that failed then hot wired the bike with a screw driver. When I left the start switch no longer worked. I had to take it to another mechanic. Poor customer service from start to finish. They fixed one problem and created another and seemed unwilling to help in any capacity. I consider important to write a review, if I would read them before I would had consider taking my motorcycle to Andys Everything started with my clutch broken from my 2021 MT 03, I went to Andys and he repaired it in less than 30 minutes and also changed my back tire. I was so happy about how efficient this guy was and how fast. Later, unfortunately I crashed my motorcycle, I went to Cicle City and they suggested me not repaired it. I was okay it looks like I have to buy any other method of transportation because that was my only one. However, I went to Andys and he told me he was going to be able to repair it in a very gentle way I have to say, telling me he would order the parts after my first deposit and it was going to take less than two weeks to get the parts and of course I accepted very happy. I called 3 weeks later just to ask how was everything with my motorcycle, and nobody answer my call, then I went to the store, his wife was there and I ask her very polite and she answer me very polite as well that she was going to let him know I asked for the motorcycle. ( I was going to work in my bicycle and taking ubers, I live up in the Pacific Heights so my way back home it was very hard). I came back one week after that because I never get any call back and he changed completely, he was like, dont bother never again my wife or you will pay the consequences, I tried to calm him and I was like i am just asking about my motorcycle thats all and he told me if you want to take your motorcycle somewhere else do it now, ( after a month in his power) I was like I am sorry man I didnt want to bother you can you tell me a day or how many weeks more do you think is going to take? I cant tell you that man, he answered. I came back two weeks later and he was very mad every time he was seeing me asking me like : What do you need?? Mmm.... its been almost 2 months since you have my motorcycle and I riding my bicycle to work everyday waiting for it, I am just asking you to consider my position, he was like : Man your problems are not my problems, I just moved from my other place and I dont have workers now so wait!! I started going to his store almost every week and he told me, okay I just got the parts give me two weeks, I was happy and I was like okay after all, he will repair it. After those two weeks, he started telling me it was going to take two or three days, I was even more happy and I was okay I will have it back soon. After three and a half months I finally decided to pick my motorcycle, the big surprise was he never even touch it and it was back in his store full of dust exactly how I gave it to him 3 months and half before. He gave me the money back. Those 3 1/2 months would be easier for me if he would be honest not lying about the time, I would have bought a moped or a car. read more

I would never recommend this place to get your bike fixed always and forever waiting it took 5 months for me to finally say that's it I'm going to just pick up my bike and when I did the parts installed didn't even work with multiple things broken that wasn't broken before. Now my bike doesn't want to run and it sucks because now I have to find another place to get it fixed or just do it myself. My first interaction with Andy, I was in the shop with a couple of friends and we were checking on one of their bikes. I had just bought my bike and wanted to change my exhaust. I had already been on EBay and various sites so I knew some of the options before going in. I'm not very mechanical so I was going to have him do it. He told me that my exhaust would need to be sawed off and then the new one would be welded on. Something about that process seemed shady so I bought some tools and as it turns out, the exhaust didn't need to be welded after all. I called today to ask how much it would be to mount tires. A couple of questions later, we arrived at the point I would be bringing the whole bike in vice wheels and tires. He told me the price and then I asked him how much would it be if the wheels were removed. His attitude shifted and then he asked if I knew how to remove wheels. In my mind, that has nothing to do with the question at hand. Whether I know how to remove tires or not, the question on the table was "how much would it be if the tires were removed?" I understand labor costs. I understand being upset about people trying to find more bang for their buck and him being a business owner attempting to look out for his employee(s). Hanging up in a person's face is absolutely unnecessary. I could have been told there was no price difference and I would have said thank you and either decided to go or move on. read more

Called them Friday for a clutch install for on a 02 honda cr80 I did myself. I didn't finish due to not ordering a gasket for the water and clutch case so I gave them a call. I spoke with Andy and told him if they could go over the install I've done and that I did not have the gasket and the old one is trashed (I tried gasket maker). I told him it leaks and if they could complete the job... he told me if I brang it asap he could have it ready hopefully for the weekend, he said he charged $110 an hour and expect 2 hours... being that I had no gasket and wanted the bike ready this weekend my wife took the bike. Also note I did not tighten things back up because they had to go in anyways i.e clutch cable and not torqued down nuts. She got there but he had left to get some outside work done for a job they had, no problem. My wife waited 2 hours and a worker told my wife to just fill out a form and he'd get back to me. No problem. Saturday: so I spoke to 2 other places by now and they told me I need a gasket and shouldnt be done by other means i.e gasket maker etc. When I spoke to Andy I hoped he either could cut/make a gasket or could it be he had one on hand being that he said he could have the bike ready by Sunday?? BUT I told my wife to go pickup the bike regardless as I ordered the gaskets myself. She goes there (we reside in Waianae btw) and the bike is still not been worked on, No Problem. She says she just wants to pickup the bike but Andy decides to tell her if we have an HOUR they could get it done so my wife gives it a go. They work on it and find out that a gear been busted (can't say it was them, can't say it wasn't me) tells her the clutch springs are taller (came with the barnett clutch kit via Hawaii rides), clutch cable was loose ( as mentioned I left it that way since they had to go back in) and then goes to tell her... WE NEED A GASKET?!?! Thats what I told him the day before and he said he could fix it!!. I get that the gear needs to be replaced but he then charges a $176 for his time and all this in about 3 hours later. Remind you I mainly went there for the leak/gasket which he said he'd have the bike ready by this weekend. So I tell my wife ask him how was he suppose to fix the leak if he didn't have the gasket, he goes on and says "what your husband wants to know why I charging full price" and goes on to explain he gave his expertise advice on the job and repaired the clutch cable (which was loose to open the case) etc. Goes on and says I can give discount... I tell my wife to ask him how much to compete the job after we get the gear and gaskets he says "ah about an hour and a half" so basically double charge. I'm so pissed at this point I'm $176 down, wife spent a total of 5 hours there fri/sat which we could've avoided if we denied his 1 hour to fix. And to top it all off we went there for a leak! A gasket I knew needed replaced but he looks at my son's bike and tells us what we need for a charge of $176. What a ripoff. He also tells my wife... there is no fluids oil, coolant but we could fill up (temp ride) and ride around the yard... (as he mentioned... riding by the weekend?!?!) WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK! Tired of being ripped off by supporting local businesses, real talk. Waste time and money. Takes me around 4+ hours of work to pay that shit. read more

Just got off the phone with someone at Andy's Motorcycle shop. I initially asked for a motorcycle tank repair kit, he asked me what I wanted exactly and I told him POR-15, KBS, or Kreem. He said he only had the good one and it was for nearly $60, while saying the other shops on island had the "junk" ones. After about a minute of talking garbage on the other motorcycle shops on island, he finally told me he had the POR-15 available. I then asked him if he had any gas tanks available for my bike in lieu of using a cleanser (they don't always work), and he seemed to get angry with me asking him questions about the supplies at his shop. After telling him the model bike, and the years that have interchangeable parts, I felt like I was asking him to do the impossible. He proceeded to start yelling on the phone about the model year etc and at that point I had to hang up. My coworkers were wondering what was happening on the phone probably because they could hear him through the small speaker of my Samsung. My ear hurts a bit after this one. If this is any reflection on the service provided by this shop, I will avoid it at all costs. I cant imagine putting my safety in the hands of this shop. After 5 months my bike was barely touched. Was told before the 4 month that my bike was all put back together with alignment being fixed, so i wait another month and bug my insurance company weekly about the progress, then magically they find my fork bent, unrideable. So i take my bike back and was told by andy all i gotta do is put new forks and she cherry, but come to find out my rim was warped and all bent too, why didnt he see these problems during the first 3 months?? So after 5 months he tried to claim storage fees but the insurance said NO because of your bad delays andy. Such easy work for a professional but this is how you treat loyal good customers, a person who was smacked on the H1 comes to you for help and business and this is what i end up. Andy has helped my father with his bike and my dad recommended me to him. He's helped me constantly with my Yamaha from the master cylinder to the thermostat. I also believe he's one of the few people on the island that will ever touch carbureted motorcycles and fix all types of bikes. He's been in the game for more than 30 years so keep an open mind. Even though it's just him and one or two others, I'd go back to get my bike fixed there. I still need to go back to get my bike fixed because the lithium battery caught fire. Andy was great. He reminded me of my late grandfather, my grandfather loved feeding me, always made sure I had breakfast. Andy gave me muffins and chocolate glazed donuts and water early morning while I waited for my bike to be serviced with tires changed. He was energetic and polite from start to finish. Like my grandfather, he talks mean sometimes especially when lecturing, but doesn't mean to sound that way. On the phone he sounded pretty upset, but it's because he's honest and upfront about things. So I respect that. He's quite passionate about what he does, and he genuinely cares about motorcycle safety when it comes to his customers .. that's why he does not recommend working or learning to work on your bike yourself without experience or the guide of an experienced mechanic. Our motorcycles only got two wheels, the only thing protecting us , is our helmet and gears (if we're wearing any). He's a great decent guy. After finishing my bike, he test rode it around the block to make sure everything was working accordingly. He also gave me my own sling bag. Super cute with zippers. I'll definitely be coming back. Yeah dude need help. Does nothing but ghost people. I don't think it's too much for a business owner to update their customers once a week on the status of their property. My bike has been there for 8 months after my accident, got it fixed halfway through and there was still problems with the bike so I had to take it back. I'm about to leave island, so I requested it to be just put back together so that I could tow it home. It's been a month for him to take an hour out of his day to just put it together. I used to be Andy's regular customer. I spent over $1000 on his services. I believe the quality of his work is not the same as it was before . As of today , he is understaffed and he is not doing great job anymore. Andy is not doing appointments... the "first come, first served" rule is supposed to be in place . However, Andy himself violates this rule. On 07/01, I stoped by Andy's shop to fix my bike. I was first in line and I expected to be serviced first. I waited for 8 hours and Andy literally wasted my time. He prioritised other customers who came after me . Andy didn't tell me that he couldn't service my bike , he didn't tell me to come next day, he just didn't care. When I inquired about why other people were given priority, he got mad and returned me my bike back . Andy inconvenienced me and he didn't even try to fix he situation. Normally , if you run a business and you somehow inconveniences your customer, you would try your best to make things right. It looks like Andy is not aware about this basic rule . Guys , Andy can change a tire / oil.....but he be aware that you will his least priority , if you need real repair that requires knowledge/ skills and time. Also, Andy provides bad customer service. But as the phone rang, Lisa answered, I apologized for calling before the were open, but Lisa said it was cool and how could she help me. She gathered all my info and to give her time to check the inventory , and call me back. She quickly called back and had tires for my motorcycle, I then wanted to set up an appointment, but she told me that Saturday's are walk in's, first come, first serve. This review is based on customer service. I needed a safety check shirt notice due to a last minute deployment that had me shipping out my bike. I called 5 other places and was told,sorry, can't help you. When I spoke with Andy, he wasn't able to squeeze me in but he gave me the number of another place that could. He said to tell them "Andy told me to call." Well, that is my new favorite phrase cause when I called, they weren't able to help until i said "Andy told me to call" and then I was in the very next day. Being a first time bike owner and not having knowledge or access to my own tools or a garage, I panicked when I encountered a flat on my ride home. Luckily, I was able to get my bike back home safely then I went about finding someone who could fix my tire. I found Andy's shop here on yelp and decided to stop by. He took the lead and told me he would come pick up my bike and take it to his shop to repair it, no problem. It took a couple of days before he was able to come to my place, since his shop seemed pretty busy and he was working all by himself. For me it wasn't a big deal since the bike isn't my primary transportation. Andy picked up my bike around 7:30 in the evening and I was able to get it back at his shop the next day around 3:00. Quick and painless! I was very happy with the repair and Andy is a really friendly guy to top it off. He even gave me a box of Girl Scout cookies! They passive aggressively asked if I was looking for the cheapest shop. Of course I am... who would want to go to an expensive one if I can get the same work done for a cheaper price.
