When I picked it up after they had to tow it, it was put together wrong. This happened AGAIN after my first oil change. Now, six months later, my horn continuously blows. When I called to have it checked, they told me to "just fiddle with the button" and offered to check it if it "keeps happening" even after I told them if had been happening for a week. I would put 4.5/5 if that was an option. I bought my first moped here and everyone is nice! I wasn't able to pick up my moped after I dropped it off recently for an oil change and they were able to hold it overnight with no additional charges. Another thing I witnessed was an unhappy customer in front of me and one of the employees was able to reason with them to agree. Service is usually fast and will give an ETA for how long something will take if asked. Prices are fair, as they have to charge for parts and services to make a living. They have rentals for you to drive around/back home until your moped is finished. I've been with them for a year and I have only one complaint. Several months ago, I took in my moped for them to fix my rear rack. A screw stripped the hole after being ripped out and they tried to fix it, but it never held and continued to be loose. I was charged around $30-40 for it when I later realized it needed a bigger screw to fit the new hole. That cost me around 50 cents to a dollar to buy and is still holding strong to this day. Even though the problem wasn't fixed, they were still helpful in trying to find a solution. To improve this, ask other employees how to fix the situation or how to improve it if you feel it isn't secure enough. It took a few pulls on the rack and it was loose, that isn't fixing it. Overall, I still recommend this place because their general services are amazing! Danny the owner is very nice and will help out any new owner of a moped learn before they drive away. I quit going to this place for Oil changes / Maintenance for my moped because I caught them making up things and charging me for it. The first time they said they had to replace the spark plug cap because it was rusted. I came back a week later about something else and they told me they had to replace the spark cub cap due to rust... This new guy didn't know they already played me for that a week earlier... Several months past, and I bought a new moped from a different place but got a Nail in my tire. Apex was the only place close to where I live that I could push my moped to, so I called them and asked how much to patch a tire, they said $25.00. So, I walked my moped a mile to their shop and when I went to pay the guy said $62.00. WHAT???? They will scam you!!!! BEWARE!!! read more

I brought my moped to get my gas tank fixed due to water damage. I also had issues with the window that shows my mileage and gas tank lvl was very foggy so they offered to replace that along with fixing my gas gage since that wasn't working properly as well. I was told all these issues were "fixed". I was riding on the road when my moped stops running. I see that my gas gage lvl is only a little under the full mark. I call the shop and tell them that I'm stuck on the side of the road and that the gas gage they supposedly "fixed" clearly wasn't fixed otherwise I wouldn't have run out of fuel. He tells me I can either push the moped to his shop or push it to the closest gas station or he's going to charge me $50 to pick up my moped even though it is their faulty workmanship that I was left on the side of the road. Terrible business practice. I run my own business as well and I would never charge my guests for my poor workmanship. I paid over $150 in repairs all to have my gas gage still not working properly. read more

One of the biggest rip offs I have personally experienced. buying a moped from them was super simple and easy so at first I was pleased. I came to find out that they are selling lower quality mopeds for the same price as other shops in town. On top of that I have taken it in to be serviced for trouble starting twice. they changed the spark plug cap and charged me 80 dollars each time. (The second time I walked in and said my name and the guy just said that'll be 80 dollars without greeting me or briefly mentioning what they did to fix my moped). I just went to a different moped shop in town and they did the same thing along with an oil change for about half of the price... and I'm not even under warranty with them!!! I never write reviews but I felt like I had to share... i know that Apex looks a lot more "official" and "shiny" than other shops in town but there are plenty other places that are much more reliable and affordable. read more

I found Apex Mopeds, owned by an awesome fellow named Danny, who hooked me up with a sweet ride. It's a brand new 4-stroke moped that goes about 35 mph on the flats (50mph on a nice downhill) and has allowed me to see a side of Hawaii that I wouldn't have otherwise. Went to apex to look for a scooter and Danny made the process quick and painless , bought the revival model moped and got it ready with everything I wanted in just a couple of hours , spent the couple of hours riding around on the loaner moped he provided and was pretty stress free. I did buy a chain lock for $89 to find out it was too thick to pass through the rims but ill go ahead and blame that on myself for not checking before I purchase. I shopped around several Moped stores in Honolulu before finally deciding on Apex Mopeds because of the GT-Pro. My purchase included the GT-Pro, 100cc Bore Kit, rear rack, and Trimax alarm lock. The Moped works well and the bore kit ensure my moped can hit 45 on a flat road. I would like to give this store a higher rating, because the bike is great, but the customer service leaves something to be desired. I experienced problems with my trimax lock immediately. I brought into the shop repeatedly and received no adequate resolution or assistance from the employees or owner until the 5th visit, when a more helpful mechanic finally resolved the issue. The problem stemmed from a simple lack of staff knowledge, which appears driven by high turn-over and general lack of training. The problem with the lock was relatively easy to solve, but the resident knowledge and concern with customer service was not present. I would recommend this store for the quality of mopeds on-hand, but based on my experience, I would not hold your breath on decent customer service. read more

Had Apex installed 80CC bore kit on my moped. I just walked in and dropped my moped. Had it back within 2 hours. Everything ran great.

Out of every moped shop I've been to I like Apex the most, but I haven't had 100% fixes when it comes to my moped, I'll bring it in to get something fixed only to get it back with some other problem. I initially brought my moped in to fix my brake handle and my throttle as well as my electric start. Brake and the throttle was fixed, but my electric start was worse than when I initially brought it in, I brought it in a second time and they couldn't find out what was wrong with the starter. I just recently brought it in to do standard maintenance and when I got the moped back my starter was fixed, but I could barely get up my driveway when before my moped would fly up the driveway. They have great service and fix things quickly but always find something else needs to be fixed and it has me feeling very frustrated because I keep having to bring it in every other week and also because I like apex and I don't want to find another moped shop. I was welcomed into the shop and immediately helped with my inquiries, and even offered advice on future ideas. I looked at helmets, tried one on, and was shown all its features by the store employee. I was in for 10 minutes max, and left confidently with a new helmet!
