Since your reply is filled with inaccuracies, let me tell what actually happened. I brought my car in for a steering issue on my Lexus. I agree that I did take it to a friend's shop first and he checked into the issue. He wasn't able to help because he was going out of town. When I initially contacted Neue Auto, I was told that you fixed all kinds of steering systems. My Lexus has an electronic control unit for the power steering, not a hydraulic one, like most cars. I asked specifically if this is something that you were able to do...when I initially called and when I dropped the car off. That was a SPECIFIC question. Both times I was assured that you were familiar. A whole day went by and no callback. I was told that it would take a few hours to investigate the issue and after repeatedly calling for an update, I was told that at 5pm my car was still being worked on. No callback by 6p so I DROVE down there in my other car only to find the shop locked up. It was the weekend and I did without my car and without any update. I was cool about it and Alvin finally contacted me after I left a message on Monday morning. I was NOT informed that you would not be able to perform the "calibration and [potential] programming." If this was the case and you didn't have the tools to complete the job, why in the world wouldn't I take it straight to Lexus? Let me be clear...you had the car for 3 weeks...THREE Weeks and nothing was being done. Alvin kept telling me he was trying to get in contact with someone at Lexus and get the inside on how to fix it. I got my car out of there because Alvin said you were waiting on someone trying to get a "workaround" for the programming? I have text messages and voicemails about this. Needless to say, the car was unfixed. When I picked up my car, it was FILTHY...there was dirt IN my car and the whole car was dirty. My car is my baby and it has never seen a day that it was that dirty. Alvin pulled the car out and I got in and drove 1/2 a mile before realizing the needle on the gas tank was BELOW "E." I also noticed this huge gash in my dash. That was NOT there before. I went straight to the gas station and had to fill my tank and I called Alvin about the gash. He flat out denied it and went on the defensive. I just threw my hands up and didn't argue. AT NO TIME DID I ASK for any sort of compensation. NONE! I asked for acknowledgement but he just denied it right off. I have the text of that too. I buy local to support, but given your reply, without even having a conversation with me throughout this whole 3 week ordeal, it's clear you have blind loyalty to your workers that allows you to create this false narrative often a customer who just plunked down $2600 for NOTHING. My car was the SAME as when I drove it in. AUWE!! Sidenote: Took my car in to Lexus the following Monday and it was done in 3 days. When I got my car from Neue, I asked for notes on what was done and what else needed to be done. I also asked if they could give me their Lexus contact so that that person could provide any information to the repairman at Lexus. When I picked up my car, the advisor said that the part changed by Neue was unlikely to have been necessary at all. Went in to get my car checked as my carpets are always wet during storms. I've gone back to the dealership a few times to get this fixed and all they told me was the drain was clogged by debris. They kept telling me the same thing every time I took it in. Nick assisted me and looked at the car first. He communicated his suspicions on what the issue might be. I'd like to start off by mentioning the great things I experienced. The team working on my truck was extremely knowledgeable and patient throughout the process. My partner received pictures and updates along the way, and I truly appreciated the communication, especially since they had my truck overnight. One challenge was how narrow the entrance is when pulling in, but thankfully that wasn't too much of an issue during drop-off. My experience ended up being 4 stars because I paid $704 for diagnostics and a transmission fluid service, only to be told that the transmission issues would likely continue over time. The recommendation given was that replacing the vehicle might be a better option if we didn't want to continue investing money into the truck. Afterward, I reached back out to ask for a quote on either rebuilding or replacing the transmission so I could better understand my options. Unfortunately, I've waited quite a while without receiving a response. At this point, even after spending the money on the diagnostics and service, the truck is still undrivable and sitting in a parking lot while I continue paying for a rental car. I completely understand that transmission work can be complicated, and I am grateful they were able to inspect my truck since I don't know much about transmissions myself. When I first brought the truck in, I also mentioned an issue with my taillight. I was initially told it would be added to the diagnostics at the end, but it was never looked at. I was later informed that I would need to pay an additional $185 just to diagnose the taillight issue. At that point, I decided to simply pick up the truck. The communication was excellent from start to finish while the vehicle was actively being worked on, but as a returning customer, I do feel disappointed that I haven't received any follow-up regarding the transmission quote. I've been to Neue Auto a few times now and honestly wouldn't take my car anywhere else. Alvin and Codi are both so amazing, just very helpful and professional. They're usually able to take me in pretty soon too which is great. On my most recent visit, I went in thinking I needed specific work done, but Codi realized it was a totally different issue. I went on Yelp and submitted a new project for my vehicle's repair. Neue was one of a few shops that replied and had availability. They were upfront about their diagnostic fee of $185 plus tax. I needed a new alternator, belt, and battery for my 2006 RAV4. I asked for a rough estimate so I could compare it to a few other shops, and they told me $400-$600 for parts and labor. After reading other positive reviews, I decided to have my car towed from Kaneohe to this shop. The drop-off went smoothly, and I received a call shortly after with two quotes. The first quote was $2,075 to replace the alternator, belt, and battery, and the second was $3,200 to also fix an oil leak in the engine. This is an older vehicle, and the quote was 4-5 times higher than what was originally estimated. I decided to pay the $185 diagnostic fee and take my car to a different shop. After calling around to a few smaller shops, they told me this specific car requires more labor because the radiator has to be removed. However, they said it should cost between $1,000-$1,300 at most. I ended up going to a local shop, and they completed the repairs for $1,150. They also checked for an oil leak and found nothing. This shop not only bait-and-switched me on pricing but also tried to get me to pay an extra $1,200 for a repair I didn't need. I would give 0 stars if I could and will be telling family and friends to avoid this shop, as they are not honest. UPDATE: 04/16/26 I uploaded a picture of the Yelp message coming directly from your company, so you can't call me a liar. 'If you can't produce this, what you're saying isn't just false, it's libel.' That is a direct quote from you. I also wasn't looking for the cheapest repair, I was looking for a fair quote. After visiting your shop I called three different shops and you quoted roughly twice the amount that they did. So I went with a shop that priced right in the middle and had good reviews. It's also interesting that you didn't mention your $1,200 quote for an oil leak that didn't exist. Your pricing is your pricing I just wish you were upfront about it or provided me with a more realistic quote. The shop I went to used all brand-new parts but sold them at cost rather than upcharging their customers. That business has been around for over 30 years, so it's surprising that you would resort to insulting their credibility rather than owning up to your mistake and making things right. The WAIT ~ I had an appointment for 8:30am.. they didnt take my car till almost close because supposedly appointments that MISSED the day prior took precedence (not cool). 2. The QUOTE ~ The Friday I took my car (which I had to wait the WHOLE day for a diagnosis, see complaint #1), I was told possibly around $600.. when they FINALLY called me back Saturday afternoon, they told me it was going to be $2600!! How does it jump over 4X's the amount?!? When we got a hold of another mechanic, he got me ALL the parts (less than $1K) and charged me ONLY $600 for the labor and my car was up and running within 5 - 6 hours. If you're unsure of what your car problems are, have the team take a look and they will find it. AC was blowing "cool", but not cold air. After filling up my car with freon every other month and driving with the windows down, I knew that I needed a permanent fix. A friend recommended that I give these guys a chance. After talking on Yelp, I made an appointment and arrived the next day. I've assumed that the compressor was faulty, but after they diagnosed the entire AC system, it turns out that it was a bad leaking condenser. I was able to save some money now that the mechanics found the source of the actual problem. They had the part on hand, got to work, and I was able to pick my car up the next day. Now my car is blowing cold air and after "chilling" in my car (pun intended) for a moment, I've realized that I've taken it for granted. Their prices are affordable and it was money well spent. If negative stars were available, that would be this company's score. This company took my money and did not fix my car, BEWARE!! They charged me $700, then told me I had to have the car towed back to my house while the DME module was sent for "repair", after two weeks of not getting ANY responses about the status of DME, I canceled the credit card charge. But then miraculously, they called and said the DME was ready but didn't have the techs available to come out to install it for a few days !!?? I re-instated the charge and volunteered to install it myself since it was just a plug-in module. Unfortunately, that did not fix the problem. At this point, they wanted the car towed back to the shop again. WHO WORKS ON CARS LIKE THAT?!!! I talked with the place that Neue sent DME to and they said it tested good and shipped the unit back on February 8th. Neue told me they just got it back on the 23rd after I called them over 10 times during that period. So in short, they spent 15 minutes "diagnosing" the car, then I paid to have it towed to my house, in addition to the fact that I had to call them 10 times, cancel original charge to find out the part was magically available but no can come to install it...now going on 3 weeks and they wanted me to do the car tow fire drill again... In summary, they made approx. $500 for 15 minutes of time. I didn't write a review at the time because we had a death in the family and frankly, I was done with them and their shady operations. Local guys doing what they like to do. Oil change with a tire rotation as part of the inspection. All while changing your oil for under a hundred bucks. Can't go wrong when most places charge as separate services. Oops. Forgot they use full synthetic oil too. My car was done faster than they said it would take and ready when I came back for it. They have a waiting area but I recommend dropping off your vehicle. These guys are thorough with the service and it takes time sometimes.
