Go to Chung's Alignment for Prompt Service at Reasonable Price It's a well-known fact that road conditions here take a toll on your vehicle. Dealers recommend wheel alignment every six months. Much cheaper to get regular wheel alignment than to replace tires. Plus you get a better driving experience. Chung's is located on Dillingham Blvd (makai side) across Honolulu Community College. Don't let the current rail road construction deter you from getting here. Best to call and to make an appointment. Wheel alignment takes about an hour. Waiting area is limited. Wear your Hokas or comfortable walking shoes to venture about. City Square SC and Kapalama SC are nearby so you can grab a bite to eat while you are waiting. read more

Honest and trustworthy. Got an alignment and thought I needed 2 tires but Chung said tires are good no need to change got plenty of thread left. Also the alignment was less than the original quote. Chung is easy to talk to and was patient with my questions. read more

Awesome awesome for car alignment ,friendly good people , even allowed me back to redo my car couple months after

I had heard that it would be difficult to get someone to pick up the phone there but I called in the AM and got a same day appointment for an alignment. Dropped off the car and close to the eta completion time it was done. There's even a bar in the shopping area next to it so I could relax until pickup. Small waiting area so plan not to wait there. Also Dillingham blvd is a mess. But bottom line: I would go back. read more

Giving Chungs a review as I had to get my truck towed here after my battery/alternator failed near the Lowe's in town. Through my insurance I was able to get a tow to my home or shop of my choosing. Since Chungs was very close by and still open, I called and asked if I could bring my truck in for battery/alternator replacement. They were more than accommodating as they ensured they have the right part(s) in stock and told me to bring it in. The great part was that they stayed open past their 5:30 PM closing time to take my truck in as I waited over 2 hours for the tow truck. I did need to leave my truck there till the next day. But I was very grateful that they were able to take on my work on such short notice, even though the estimated time of completion was a little overdue the next day due to the wrong battery being delivered and adding on an oil change. They were even more accompdating to fix a small noise issue with my truck. But even with the wait, there are several places to hangout nearby. I'd for sure bring my vehicles back here if needed. read more

Brought in my car for service, and my car sat at the shop for 6 DAYS STRAIGHT. Additionally, they don't answer the phone. I'm pretty sure they screen calls. I had to come to the shop to get status updates because of the lack of communication. Nothing got done. Demonstrated a complete lack of respect for my time. When I brought this up to the owner, all I got was excuses. Don't bring your car here unless you're willing to accept UNPROFESSIONAL BS. read more

I just got back my car after having my door repaired from a hit and run. I didn't get to check out my car because I had work so I had a family member go and pick it up for me. Today I went into my car and notice there is white dust/marks all over my seats and car. And a dog foot print?! You cannot tell it's not. It's clearly a foot print! All over my seats, armrest and daughters car seat. I am highly disappointed they even allowed an animal into someone else's car! I don't even allow any animals in my car at all. The lease they can do is wipe all that crap off for me. read more

Chung's has been my guy since I acquired my car 6 months ago. It's been giving me some issues ever since. Chung's came at a recommendation and I am so glad I went to him. He and his employees are hardworking, fast, reliable and friendly. I can't recommend him enough. He doesn't overcharge and takes care of things swiftly and efficiently. He's a genuine guy and runs a great business that gets the job done. Over quality and value is consistently good. read more

Great value. I'd give 5 stars if the customer service was better. I understand shops are busy, but I feel the workers should acknowledge customers more promptly. Also the reason for the 4 stars is because I found some metallic residue on my paint. Luckily I keep it sealed so it came right off. Overall good experience. I feel Chung himself took care of me. read more

RATING'EM ZER0. 0! Don't waste your time coming here. Especially if you have modified vehicles. Lowered or lifted. STORYYYY TIMMMMME! We lifted our truck and decided to get alignment same day here right after since they were near by. When the alignment was pau he DID NOT do a test drive after. he just took it off the rack & stated "It's all good". When driving home, my husband noticed that the steering wheel was clocked more towards the right (1'oclock position). When he drives the steering wheel STRAIGHT (12 o'clock position), the truck will steer to the LEFT. We called to do a re-alignment. When the 2nd alignment was finished, Chung did take it out for a test drive on Kokea street for couple mins. He came back & my husband asked him "is it all good? It's okay?"... Chung said "it's better!". He drove back home & STILL the steering wheel was the same! It actually got worse, it's more tighter. We asked our family, friends who are mechanics & actually other car repair shops... & they all stated no, it's not supposed to be like that. I called to have him go over it again with us. Drove all the way to town so we can explain to him that it's not right. Chung was already irritated from the start & he drove our truck with both of us RECKLESSLY. why drive so fast down the road multiple times? Why are you driving 30-40mph so fast?! So we can't see the steering wheel as you drive?? He couldn't even give us the time to show him. (*Don't get me started with his other employee just yet*.) He says it's driving straight, which it is... BUT he was NOT UNDERSTANDING that the steering wheel was NOT. It's obviously not straight! Because I was sitting in the back and he kept moving the steering wheel. Unbelievable. He switched with his employee for "confirmation". This time I drove to show him what we mean since we couldn't with Chung. I kindly introduced myself and asked for his name... but hahahahaaa this smart guy just pointed at his name tag "right here" and got into the truck. RUDE. Brah You call this customer service?? But that didn't make me mad... it was This guy.. NOT PAYING ATTENTION AT ALL! I had to ask him to watch our driving. To observe the drive and the wheel. He was saying that it was crooked "because of the Nissan badge on the steering wheel was crooked." So he DID noticed it was crooked while driving?? Are you serious!? Ho brahhhh! .... Then I asked the guy does Chung lock the wheel? He says yeah... (FUNNY because Chung said it himself; he DOESNT.) I pulled over to park & was going to have him switch so he can try drive like what Chung asked him too but he did a big fuss. I stated this can be a safety issue too. He could only say "i don't know, I don't know. You have to talk to Chung about that". and the employee got out of the truck DURING the test drive and walked back to the shop smoking. WTF???? When we got back, he asked what his employee thinks. Obviously if an employee is getting a confirmation from his boss, he's obviously gonna say the same thing HIS BOSS gonna say. Lol He could only say he doesn't lock the steering wheel.... I told him "respectfully okay, that's what you like to do. you don't use the lock but we would like our refund back. We want to bring it to a place who does". He gets worked up saying because "that's old fashion" "it's back in the 90's". After all that he says Ok for refund, went into the shop and said "I don't have time for this." It takes a lot for me to get mad, but this tipped it off. 100. Braaaaaahhhhh OK.... Wow. Putting our trust in Chung & his shop... and having a friend refer us to this guy... it was unbelievable. What a ridiculous experience. we was not respected nor valued. We are sad. read more

I'm a fan! My tires had been wearing unevenly ever since I bought this car, pretty sure the previous owner had it lowered. Anyway, I was tired of rotating the tires on my own, because the place I bought the tires said I had to buy new ones since the wear was getting too low on the tread. I finally called Chung's up for an alignment after doing some research on premature tire wear and shops in town. The receptionist answered my call and was able to schedule me the next day. I showed up a little earlier than expected and the owner came out and noticed my car and said he could take it in immediately. I decided to wait since he said it would be done in an hour or so. I sat in the waiting room, watched some TV and checked emails on my phone. Every so often the owner would rush in and answer the phone or greet a customer or delivery man. Soon enough my car was done. I drove it away feeling better about the ride. Overall the prices are competitive and service is excellent! I will definitely be coming back here when I need work done on my car. read more

I am so sick of dealing with this place. Stay far away from here if you want to save your car, money, and sanity. 5/18/21 - Called to make an appointment as my ABS and brake light sensor came on. My normal place (McCully union station - go there!) was unavailable, so after I saw the great reviews, I called to make an appointment. Getting an appointment with Mark was easy, but that's about the only nice thing I can say about this place. 5/20/21 - Take my car in. I'm standing around 15 minutes until finally, I ask to ask Mark if I should leave my car here, if I should wait, or what. That should've indicated the lack of customer service for what's to come. He says he'll call me once it's done, so I call my husband to pick me up. He did call with a quote for two rear brake replacements and said that my car would be ready for pick up before they close. I pick up my car only to find my service light still on as they didn't replace my wheel sensor because they had to order it; no biggie. Mark said it would take a couple of weeks and ensured me he'll call me as soon as it gets in. 5/28/21 - My recently replaced brakes are completely rusted (see picture). Not just a little rust, but full on, bright orange rusted. Turns out they used non-coated (aka the cheapest kind) of brake rotors. I would've gladly paid the extra $$ for coated brakes, but that wasn't an option. 6/10/21 - I call Mark, asking if my wheel sensors are in. He says it's not delivered yet, but he'll call when they get it in. 6/20/21 - I call Mark again, he says they forgot to order them. He'll call me when they get in. 6/30/21 - Called all morning, no answer. Finally get a hold of them and they said it's still not in, that they'll check on the order status and call me back right away. I told them at this point, if they don't want to service me and finish their job, to be straight up with me. They said they'll fix it and take a look at the rusted brakes, that the rusted brakes should not compromise the integrity of braking. Lo and behold, no call back. I can't trust anything they say at this point. 7/19/21 - I ask for Mark, he's not in today. Talk to another gentleman who is surprised that I haven't had my wheel sensor replaced since May. He says he'll call the dealership and call me back. No call back. When I call, it goes straight to voicemail and says that the voicemail is not set up. What the hell? Decided to go into the shop and show face. Mark said they could order the part today, install it tomorrow. They offered to install it another day, so I chose Saturday as to not disrupt my work week. This is exactly why I don't trust auto service shops and would rather have my husband or dad fix it, except I live on this hell of a service island and my husband has been gone for work. The fact that I paid $494 cash (the wheel sensors will cost me another $114.02) for completely rusted brakes, my lights still on, is ridiculous. I have my upcoming safety check that I know will not pass, which will incur other fees. Will update review accordingly based on the service I'm HOPING to finish on Saturday. Stay tuned... read more

Chung was great and the service was fast. I had a great time talking to Chung and his team were really chill. The price was really reasonable if not better. Thanks Chung! I'll be coming back read more

Couldn't recommend them more highly. My ex was driving my old Ford and got in a fender bender that broke the front left wheel knuckle where the tie rod attaches. Turns out that neither Ford nor any OEM still makes that part. Chung searched the island yards and couldn't find one, but said that if I could find one, his guys would put it on. So I ordered one from eBay, and sure enough his crew installed the knuckle the same day I dropped the car off, did an alignment, and sent me out the door for $359. For reference, another auto body shop that I won't name -- but the first letter is "O" and the second letter is "s" -- told me that the entire front-end needed replaced, and it would cost me "around $7,000." In fact I had told Chung about the $7K estimate on the phone when I first called. That would have given him every opportunity to charge me more than $350 if he ran that kind of shop. But evidently he's committed to only doing the work that actually needs to be done. I can't praise his honesty highly enough! Thanks bud! read more

We got coilovers installed recently. Found a lot of good reviews on yelp, we gave this business a try. Was able to make a appointment over the phone yesterday afternoon. Told me that they were busy but come by at 10am to squeeze us in. Arrived at 10am and yes they were busy. Had 2 vehicles in their shop on the rack, the phones ringing off the hook and a couple customers ahead of me. I gave the counter person my info and left my car with them. Returned a couple hours later. Checkout was quick, paid and they brought my car right up to the front for me. Very painless process dealing with these guys. Pros: customer service, labor prices & alignment is fixed. Cons: too many cars in parking lot & very small waiting area. Chose to have my wife pick me up instead of waiting. Would come back if we need future suspension work. Overall very satisfied with Chung's read more

Called and scheduled an appointment for 4pm...awesome! Arrived 10 minutes prior and was told someone would be with me shortly. Great! 423pm still waiting. Ask someone what's up as I had a 4pm appointment scheduled. I got "we're behind" as a response. No apology, nothing. I totally understand being busy, but scheduling appointments then not making them by a long shot then just pretty much a "shrug" isn't something I'd expect my employees to do. I always try to support local and small businesses but this kind of thing makes it hard. Off to one of the major chains for alignment. read more

Second visit for my 2010 Nissan Murano; this time for my AC, which was no longer blowing cool air. All I can say that it was another great job and saved me money over taking it to the dealer. The AC actually blows colder than it was before, which was fine by me! I also had him do the oil & filter change which included complimentary tire rotation (by request), which saved me even more money as the dealer would have charged extra for the rotation. Both Chung's and New City Nissan are under the Costco Auto program which gives you a 15% discount for car maintenance and service. But New City Nissan would have charged me at least a $149 diagnostic fee to see what was wrong with the AC, and that would have been in addition to any repair costs. New City Nissan's cost would have been around $1200+; Tony Nissan (got a quote here for the heck of it) quoted about $1400+; while Chung's cost me about $800+, plus great service! I highly recommend this place for your car servicing needs! :) read more

What's worse? Buying a car, getting a car serviced, or going to the dentist? They might all be bad, but Chung's makes the experience much more positive: - Scheduling: Pleasant when answering the phone and thankfully was able to be schedule later in the same day. - Check-in: same pleasant service (and in English / Cantonese). - Service: Chung himself checked out my car and described everything he was doing to troubleshoot the issue. Efficient with the effort! - Environment: limited seating in a cooled, small office with a TV; you're fitting about 3-4 people in here (and no room for a baby stroller). Costco, bubble tea, and restaurants are nearby for longer waiting experiences! Thank you for the honesty, fairness, and education along the way! Highly recommended for friends and family. read more

Chung's completely wasted my whole day and were so disrespectful to my time, money, and property. What should have been two hours tops, ended up being about SIX HOURS of BS. I even had an appointment that was set up a week in advance to avoid this. Customer service is horrible, They took the whole day to complete my service and didn't even complete it. I had to reschedule for the rest of it. They told me to be back at 4pm and my car would be ready. I arrived a little after 4pm and was told I had to wait until 5-530pm. I ended up being there until just before 7pm. NO compensation for my troubles, NO apology, Chung hit my door on a stack of tires (no damage but you should treat my property with respect), and I wasted $40 on an Uber during peak hours just to have them make me wait another THREE HOURS. I'm only giving them a two star rating because of the price and because I'm generous. Bring your migraine medication if you have an appointment here and be sure to clear your whole day's schedule just in case. Don't expect to be treated like you're a valued customer either. The only good customer service from this place was the girl who booked the appointment. read more

Chung is the man! Excellent service at a great price! Literally drive across the island because he is that good. Pointed out that my inner tie rod is going bad which didn't allow him to do the alignment. Most shops would've done it anyways which is BAD because it would be out of alignment. Great service from experts. Absolutely best alignment experience I've ever had. Chung did an assessment then asked what you were looking for - standard or recon ready. Seemed very familiar with aftermarket parts and took his time getting it done right. He then explained where he got the alignment to and why and was willing to answer my inquisitive questions about the potential of the suspension and alignment. Took good care of my painted 19" rims with no scratches. Takes appointments online but calling is probably best. Small but ok waiting room in front of counter. Staff were all friendly. read more

It's hard to find a good dentist good Barber and especially a good mechanic someone you can trust and go to and I'm sure every one of you reading this will agree with me on this. Chung and his lovely team are just that! His team is probably one of the most honest & nicest mechanics I know here on the island. I was nervous about going here since he was my first time, but I went there he did my alignment. I was extremely pleased with his service. I drove my car for a while I realize that it's pulling to the right. I ended up going back to him two months later where he realigned my vehicle and swap my tires for FREE and no charge under his AMAZING WARRANTY PROGRAM. Chung then realized that the tire is the one that's causing the car to pull to the right not his work. So I had a bad tire and it was not related to his work. He ended up even diagnosing that for free. For that reason I give him five stars because he's an ethical, honest and good man with a good heart. I will always come back to him and his team. Chung has me as a customer for life and I will always talk great things about him to others as he is very deserving of it. read more

Wish I could say more about how much I love Chung's. The woman that answers the phone is incredibly helpful, the guys really know what they're doing, and they are honestly so reasonably priced I am baffled they can afford to do business in such an expensive city. I have a brand new 4Runner that squeaked and banged around cause the Toyota dealership I bought the thing from apparently doesn't understand how to put a suspension together. The disappointment I have for the dealership that botched the job is almost made up for by the experience we had with Chungs. If I ever leave this island I will genuinely miss Chung's every time I need something done with my car. Don't make a mistake, bring your car to Chung's. read more

Great shop! Owner and staff were friendly. A few key points: 1. Ask for a Yelp or Costco discount, should get 10%. 2. Bring a lunch or walk to Costco. In other words, "try wait." Comparison: Taco Bell. How long do you wait for Taco Bell? Five minutes? 10 max? This ain't Taco Bell. As I often say, you can have a choice of speed, high quality or low price, choose two, all three won't happen. KnowhuddIMean? I called a few days ahead for an appointment. I wouldn't even try to do a walk-in unless you're hearing scary noises from your undercarriage. But let's not get personal. I was booked for 130 PM and dropped off my truck. The lady at the desk was straightforward, come back around 5. So I walked to get my eye exam, a slice of pizza at Costco, took a tour of Dole Cannery nearby and watched the circus (motor vehicles a few blocks away, very entertaining). Came back around 430 and the guy was lowering the truck. He started the truck to circulate the transmission fluid, then moved it out of the garage. Topped off the fluid and took it for a test drive. I also had an oil change and I have a happy truck! Although it has low miles, I wanted to change the transmission fluid because I drive off pavement and park on hills often. This truck is running smooth and oh so quiet. Bonus: better gas mileage, probably 2 miles better per gallon. All around win. read more
