Very aggressively had a mask thrown on my table- after ALREADY BEING SEATED. The young man who threw the mask on the table said when "moving around the restaurant I was required to wear one"...super confusing- as I was seated. My husband (in his muzzle) was up at the ordering counter so the empowered employee had zero reason to even approach me. So completely rude and unnecessary. This is not a review on the food, the food was awesome. What makes this a two star review is the staff. We came in at a slower time and ordered our food and were told it was a 15 minute wait. It did get busier as we were waiting but we waited for 45 minutes and everyone after us got served first. The lady with the orange hair was very rude when we asked how long it would be after it had been 30 minutes. I also did over hear that it was taking so long cause they were dealing with pick up orders first. I have worked in food service and it should always be a priority to serve the customers in store first in my opinion. My husband and I have been staying in Eugene for the last week. We've tried a variety of places to find excellent vegetarian food. The pizza we ordered from Mezza Luna tonight was right up there along with the other things at the top of our list. We ordered the Marge pizza with seasonal mushrooms and spinach added to it and it was excellent. Being from the East Coast, we especially appreciated the crust and the fact that the pie was not swimming in oil. We both liked that there were numerous very interesting choices for vegetarians to consider. I wish we weren't leaving tomorrow, because we would definitely come back for one of the other pizzas just to try it out. Thanks for a great experience! read more

The wife and I decided to stop here while passing through Eugene. Super cute little place with a variety of options and some outdoor seating for us and the pups! Diva (I believe was her name) was excellent and even brought our pup a water bowl!! 10/10 would return Traveling with a dog can bring on anxiety's for us all but seriously, she really made our babies feel comfy and loved. I came here with my girlfriend on two separate occasions. Hands down the best pizza I have ever had. My girlfriend said the exact same thing. We stuffed ourselves and absolutely loved it! This is probably one of my favorite places to get pizza and has been for over 10 years. I don't get it a lot but when I do it is definitely a special treat. This weekend I got the Luna lunch which is a slice with a salad it was great! The only bummer was that they didn't have romaine lettuce because of the CDC warning so my cesear salad wasn't as good. My pizza slice was so good, It had bell peppers, garlic and ricotta cheese, so delicious!! My husband got a calzone which I has never had there before and he really liked it! It comes with 3 toppings and ricotta and mozzarella cheese which is super yummy! The rest of our party got salads which were huge! They all enjoyed them and had plenty left over. You also can't go wrong with ordering garlic knots! I could probably eat a whole dozen by my self although I shouldn't. The customer service was great! I hit their by-the-slice selection at lunch times on weekdays for a nice assortment that never disappoints. The lunch combo of a slice and a salad is a great deal. Anything on their garlic and olive oil base sauce is delish! Add roasted garlic on top and it's beyond this world fabulous! I've started to order for pickup to bring a whole pie home - it's far better and well worth the time to pick up from Mezza Luna rather than to order delivery pizza from anywhere else in town. read more

Best place for a new York slice with a northwest twist. Always a good selection. Great place for lunch.

Couldn't share a photo because the pizza disappeared as soon as we opened the box. We ordered The Boot for take out. The pizza was ready in 20 minutes. The crust was very flavorful like a basket of really good bread. Sauce was tasty and thick. Large chunks of sausage and whole clove garlic cloves were the stars. Highly recommend. read more

First visit left me very impressed. Was bringing daughter back down to U of O and we needed dinner. She likes the burger place next door but they were closed. A quick look up gave me 3 immediate things- 1. Their Board of Health visit scores are excellent. Nothing worse than seeing restaurants that dont care about food safety. Thats huge for me. 2. They have a real pizza oven and hand tossed pies, not conveyor belt pizza baked on metal disks- thats Costco for 10. pizza, not a " pizzeria". 3. Excellent reviews ...in we go! First things first- shout out to the male employee with the Celtic forearm tattoo. What a wonderfully pleasant & efficient guy! The Caesar salad is huge! 3-4 could have shared while waiting for the pie. We inhaled. I make mine scratch at home. Theirs has a little more of that spicy garlic bite, but its excellent! Romaine all crisp and fresh. Not a bad piece on the plate. Also not common... The pizza was our testing a new place go to- a plain cheese. If a pizzeria cant get that right, nothing will help them. Beautifully done. Sauce was light and fresh, not heavy and sweet. Cheese was a little but heavier than I prefer, but thats me and probably not the normal expectation. Garlic twists are so good! Would love for them to taste more garlicky but still loved the soft chewy texture combined with a crisp, perfectly browned bottom. Pizza style is wide and flat. Not feelin it~ Maybe a Saturday 5:30 p.m order was just to busy and quality went out the window? For the price of this pizza... my expectations were..expecting! Our order was detailed, written down correctly, didn't feel the need to double check on our to-go order, so getting home was a big disappointment. Not sure what to say, but left us not wanting to go back. Asked for added fresh toppings, none were fresh, all cooked. My husband and I did half/half- I ordered the Happy Howlee and the entire pizza was covered with Canadian Bacon. It was a ham pizza basically, pineapple very minimal- I couldn't eat it. I gave it 3 stars due to past experiences being okay and trying to give benefit of the doubt was just an order gone wrong. I am surprised that Mezza Luna Pizzeria survived COVID shut down as they never seemed to have very many customers when we dined there. Hmmm...slightly better than Pizza Hut but not by much. I've tried so many pizzas all over the world and this one falls flat for being above average especially for the price range. We got the pollo pizza and that was salty and the ingredients didn't go well together. The bread was crunchy but the flavoring again didn't work for me. We also got the spinach salad which is just a plain spinach salad. Nothing interesting about it. The service is fine. Hands down my fave pizza joint I've visited so far in Eugene. Nothing fancy inside but it's clean, utilitarian, and smells amazing (always a good sign right?). Employees are friendly and helpful. You order at the register and they bring the pizza to your table - you bus your own dishes afterwards. They have a pretty extensive menu - lots of different pizza permutations to choose from - both for meat-lovers and vegetarians like myself. You can create your own halfsies pizza or order by the (humongous) slice; they have a little showcase full of about 6 of the day's different offerings (changes all the time). I've been twice and tried the Hot Momma (made with habanero sauce for a spicy kick - yum!) and the Chee-sus Lives! (made with a roasted red pepper cashew spread) - both deliciously creative and to die for good! The crust is delectable and their tomato sauce is made with real (not canned - gasp!) tomatoes!! I usually go for lunch and hence, get their lunch special - a slice of pizza and salad for $7. I am a pretty prolific eater and each time I have left beyond full, even leaving a little of my salad on the plate so I don't have to be rolled out the door. Have tried the Caesar (incredible croutons!) and Greek salads and both go the distance. You get what you pay for here - a good, healthy portion of fresh, tasty food. Highly recommend!! read more

Holy poop! I love the pizza here. Okay I haven't yet eaten inside the restaurant, but I had pizza delivered to my place twice (via the infamous Pony Express Delivery) and I'm just like, wow, okay Frances, no wonder you have a triple chin (on the inside). I should really go out.. alas, I have no life. I honestly feel that living in Eugene makes you lazy when you don't have a car. Dude their medium sized pizza is like, freaking huge. The slices are fat though, one slice = 2 slices at other pizzerias. I recommend the Veg-Italia and the Hearty Fungus. Their large size ... how could I compare.. You know that big girl from Shallow Hal? It's like the size of her boobs. It's HUGE! Also because I'm a fatty, I ordered garlic bread knots. They're alright, I mean, it's literally just dough.....yet, wait a minute... why is my hand slowly reaching for yet another bread knot...?? STOP!! Hanging in the area as a total fluke and mmm... so much pizza and sushi in the area. This place just happened to be close to the hotel we're in while the campervan gets some work, and WOW WEE! We ordered the garlic cheese knots, Greek salad, and the imperial bbq chicken pizza. The garlic knots will blow your socks off! It is KNOT anything but amazing :) the dough of the pizza felt a bit off, slightly chewy, but the crusts at the ends were perfect! The salad was fantastic, the vinaigrette wasn't too acidic, perfectly olive-oily and flavorful. Such a great spot. Would have loved more outdoor seating, but this location didn't seem to have much real estate to work with outside. read more

We've been to Mezza Luna probably ten times in the six months since we arrived in Eugene. I love it. It has almost everything I would want or need from a pizza place (I would love more rotation on the four beer taps they have), the staff is always friendly (a few of them recognize me by this point), and the pizza is always great. They have options for anyone and everyone- vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores alike- and their prices are fair and totally acceptable. The seating inside is just that- a few tables to sit at with nothing fancy under your buns, and you can mash tables together if you brought the whole fam. My partner and I enjoy sitting outside with our doggo and he always gets tons of attention and scritches from sidewalkers. What else is there to say? It's a good pizza joint, fairly priced, fine ingredients (I've thrown a few 'zas in my day), beer on tap, plenty of options, friendly staff. I would give five stars for more of a beer selection and better decor inside. read more

I did not like pizza until well until adulthood. Boy have things changed! I became a fan of Papa Murphy's (back when it was Papa Aldo's) when I first experienced it 15 years ago. I liked the take &and bake idea, the fact that I could have something other than a marinara base and that my youngsters loved it. Then I came to Eugene. I have enjoyed many, many slices from Mezza Luna and have never once been disappointed. There is a crunch to the crust that I can't get anywhere else and their creative pairings on top are nothing short of amazing. Customer service is courteous and efficient. You know what they say about pizza.. it's like sex: any kind is better than none. Still, mezza luna was pretty good ;) I was visiting Eugene when my friend brought me here for lunch. We got a whole pie. See my 2 cents below: 1. Heart de sol: eggplant, kalamata olives, feta, sun dried tomatos. I liked it! Pretty straightforward, and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes any of the above ingredients. 2. Pepperoni: standard pepp-pizza. Lot of oil on pepperoni as expected. Can almost never go wrong with pepperoni. For both pizzas, the crust was crunchy, but not super thin. Sauce was kind of a paste. In terms of the restaurant, there's plenty of seating, with a wall that has a bench as well. The girl who helped us with our order was friendly. I've now gone in on a half dozen times to try different slices. If I were to grade on a curve I would put all of their white sauce, vegi leaning slices on top. I'm a big fan of pepperoni and meat in general but these are not my favorite here. The crust does not hold up as well on the pepperoni slices and is not as buttery and chewy more thin and crispy like classic NY style. Overall I'm still a big fan of the whole deal: beers/drinks, slices and a comfortable vibe at a good price. I feel fortunate Downtown Eugene has legit options for slices when I need it, the pizza pipeline crap is not cutting it. Cozmic Pizza tries but is not the same and I have not tried World Flavors slices yet. I dig the whole pizza scene in Eugene and Mezza Luna is a great compliment to Pegasus, Bene, PRI, Pizza Petes and La Perla but they are serving a different style. I don't judge on Slices, they are good, and for you complaining about time it takes, ask for the slice to "light heat" you really don't need it fully reheated, especially if you have kids with sensitive mouths. The place is always busy, and even when ordering full pies, they get them out quick considering they HAND TOSS each Pizza. No flat sheeting here.. great fresh toppings and friendly people.
