We had such a wonderful time here at Kennedy's! The location is great and the restaurant itself is tastefully decorated. We made reservations via OpenTable. Arrived about 5 minutes before our time and were immediately seated. The waitstaff were professional and very friendly. We ordered drinks, an appetizer, steak and two sides. The beef tar tar was amazing and had great flavor. The temperature it was served at was perfect. Steak was phenomenal and had a beautiful crust. For our sides we decided on the asparagus and corn. I like the asparagus but loved the corn! Definitely give this place a try, we were not disappointed and will be back if ever in the area again. 5 stars all around!

Wasn't sure what to expect. Last time I was in the building it was a steelhead brewpub, now it's a delightful steakhouse. It was our anniversary and we wanted to try something new. We were greeted and seated quickly (we did have a reservation, which I would suggest). We were greeted at the table by Stacy our server and she was lovely. We ordered the sriracha shrimp appetizer (no photo, sorry) it was delicious. The bread that arrived was a fun mix of things. I ordered a dirty martini and it was prepared table-side by Canyon, who was also super friendly and fun. Our dinner arrived, delivered by Jelani, also a super friendly and fun fellow! The Kennedy's steak is an 8oz fillet mignon Oscar style with crab AND shrimp. It was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The beet salad was, by my wife's account, fresh and delicious. Marcos and Alejandro (brothers) kept our waters full and our table neat, both of them were delightful. The restaurant has a nice feel to it, including lights on the table that you can adjust to one of three settings to set the mood the way you like. It isn't cheap, but the food was fresh and fabulous and this may have been one of the friendliest restaurants I've ever visited. We finished the meal with a cheesecake and an Irish coffee... the cheesecake was lucious and the coffee was just right. Excellent experience. We will visit again!

We decided to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary at this popular Eugene steakhouse and it could not have been a better choice. We arrived early and enjoyed a drink at the bar before being seated quickly. We ordered the candied bacon, filet 8 oz, and the bone in filet 10 oz which were cooked to absolute perfection, exactly what you would hope for at a steakhouse. The brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes were equally delicious. Service was flawless and truly a 10/10. Multiple staff members congratulated us on our anniversary and the complimentary touches from the house made us feel extra special. The atmosphere is upscale so dress to impress. Prices are on the higher side but for this level of food and service it is worth every penny. This is exactly what you expect from a proper steakhouse and we will definitely be back.

I highly recommend this steakhouse. The menu is absolutely amazing. We have received, the best wine we've ever had that the restaurant recommended. We had the iceberg salad that was absolutely delicious, that's sourdough bread, especially made and also very delicious. I had a New York trip with Dungeness crab on top and brussels sprouts with a baked potato. Absolutely amazing all of it. My husband had the quarter house and he loved it. We also had the butter cake. Extremely delicious. Very reasonable Christ. Extremely well organized and friendly staff. I had the steak with Dungeness crab on top with brussels sprouts and baked potatoes.

Went to Kennedy's while in town to visit our son and his wife. We had a 7:30 reservation and everything was ready when we arrived. Our server was Jillian who did a wonderful job throughout the meal. We started with some drinks and a pork belly appetizer. I had a smoky old fashioned and my wife a cosmo. Both were very good. For dinner we ordered 14 ounce rib eyes and a strip. They were cooked perfectly. My wife got hers Pittsburgh style which was the best. My son ordered the 8 ounce filet. We each ordered a side that easily fed all four of us. We ended the meal with the butter cake which was delicious and a great way to end the meal. Everything about Kennedy's was first class. A great family dining experience.

We came to Kennedy's for the first time celebrating a birthday and it is safe to say we made the right choice! Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The complimentary bread and butter was so good. The steak melted in your mouth and was seasoned perfectly. Savannah was taking care of us and she was excellent! The staff were so attentive, warm, and welcoming, making sure all our needs were met and our water was never empty. The chef also sent the table a complimentary dessert (cheesecake or butter cake) after hearing we were celebrating a birthday. We chose the cheesecake and it was rich, creamy, and silky smooth. The acoustics of the restaurant were good and the dim lighting made the meal very intimate. When ordering, it is important to note that the steaks are à la carte and the sides are for the table. Kennedy's treats their guests like family and would be a great place to celebrate a special occasion.

Went here for a late-night bar valentines date and it was perfect! The service was super friendly and the ambiance was lovely. We had a filet mignon, salmon, and lobster mac & cheese for dinner and we found everything to be delicious. It was our first time here and we will definitely be back!

I'm coming back to update my review after a fantastic experience for my spouse's birthday! The drinks came quickly and the food was perfectly paced. My spouse's steak was a little overdone for their liking, the server noticed and immediately handled it by going back for a refire. She then explained that next time my spouse should order their steak blue for the doneness they like. Our server took off the dessert for the trouble, which definitely wasn't necessary but appreciated. All the food was as great as always, but I was especially impressed with our server.

Savanna was our server and she was amazing. There is not one thing I can say badly about the evening. The appatizers, the drinks, the wine, the entree and the dessert were top shelf. If you have someone special in your life or a reason to celebrate you could not do better than this.

My son & I picked out Kennedy's after hearing this was a favorite spot of an excellent Ducks coach. It was an easy walk from Autzen and were happy to get out of the cold. Relaxing supper club vibe. We ordered two smoked Old Fashions that were expertly crafted. Oysters on the half shell were excellent and went well with the complimentary bread basket. We ordered a ribeye(excellent) and the double cut long bone pork chop(phenomenal). Kennedy's is a very close comparison to some of the steak joints I've been to in Vegas, LA and Dallas/FtWorth. Can't wait to return.

Wow!! I can't say enough wonderful things about this restaurant! We went for my birthday and it was amazing! As a New York native, I can say the restaurant itself is like a high end NY Steakhouse. There was a nice card on the table when we sat down thanking us for sharing my birthday with them. Staff were sooo friendly! For drinks, I started with a Cherrywood Smoked Old Fashion and Julie went with the Tableside Martini. The drinks went down with some of the best Small Oysters I've ever had (and that's saying something). So fresh and great flavors. For dinner, we went with steaks. I had the Bone-in Ribeye which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Julie had the Filet Mignon which was also top notch. Aside of Asparagus was another win. We had to leave early to make a show at the Hult and they just rolled with it and sent us on our way with a wrapped butter cake for us to eat later (also amazing). I strongly suggest giving these folks a try for your next special occasion. I know we'll be back!

An excellent steakhouse dining experience. It is pricey, but the service was top notch. And the steak and sides were excellent. I highly recommend the butter cake for dessert, delicious!

My third time at Kennedy's Steakhouse and I brought out-of-town family for a birthday celebration. Dinner was delicious, the service was excellent & we enjoyed the atmosphere. And because the desserts were so good I decided to post pics of the Crème Brûlée & Butter Cake. Both were outstanding!

Busy but they had a table for us. Very nice decor, rotating menu. We had the buckwheat pancakes with caramelized bananas, dates, and pineapple syrup which was sweet but not overly so since the pancakes underneath were not touched by the syrup ended up being a really nice balance. Bacon was like a cross between pork belly and bacon (very thick) but really tasty. Breakfast Sando was good with in-house ground pork and a nice aioli. We also tried the savory macarons (Brie and truffle) which are delicious. Creamy and a tad sweet. Not too much truffle. Coffee was a bright tangy pour over-not my favorite type but some people really like that style. Oh, and we had a blood orange mimosa which was really good Overall an excellent experience! Definitely going to again when we are in town!

There are restaurants that seduce you with promise, and others that test your patience before…read morerevealing their intent. Lion & Owl, on this particular morning, proved to be both--a place of evident talent, yet uneven discipline, where flashes of brilliance are offset by lapses that no serious kitchen should permit. Let us begin with the triumph. The buckwheat pancakes arrive not merely as breakfast, but as a composition. A stack of admirable loft and structure--evidence of a properly developed batter, handled with restraint and precision. The crumb is airy yet resilient, each bite yielding gently before dissolving into a delicate nuttiness inherent to buckwheat. A caramelized banana sauce pools generously, glossy and fragrant, its sweetness tempered by the cultured tang of crème fraîche. Toasted coconut chips scatter across the top like crisp punctuation, lending both aroma and texture. This is cooking that understands balance--sweetness checked by acidity, softness lifted by crunch, comfort elevated by technique. It is, quite simply, a five out of five dish. The kitchen, here, remembers what it means to nourish and delight. And then--alas--we encounter its counterpoint. The mushroom brioche toast, in conception, should be a study in harmony: buttery bread, earthy fungi, silken eggs, fresh greens. Yet the execution falters at its very foundation. The brioche--so essential, so central--is pushed past the threshold of caramelization into bitterness. In a bread so rich with butter and sugar, precision is everything; overcook it, and the entire structure collapses under a shadow of char. The garnish, too, feels careless--large stems of greenery draped without intention, rather than composed with purpose. It is a dish that looks promising from a distance but betrays its flaws upon inspection. A two out of five--a failure not of imagination, but of discipline. The brie and truffle macaron arrives as an afterthought--set aside, unannounced, uncentered, as though it were a spare utensil rather than a composed pastry. Presentation matters. It signals care. Here, there is none. And the macaron itself? A confection that should whisper with delicacy instead resists with age. The shell is hardened, the interior overly chewy--signs of time having passed unkindly. The flavor is confused: a sweet, almost vanilla shell encasing a mild, savory filling of whipped brie and timid truffle. Neither side asserts itself; neither yields to the other. It is neither dessert nor savory course, but a muddled compromise. A two out of five, and left unfinished--a silent verdict more damning than words. The mimosa, I am told, is bright and pleasing, though presented without flourish--a small omission, but telling in a restaurant aspiring to polish. A four out of five, competent yet unadorned. The pour-over coffee reveals a lighter roast profile: bright acidity at the fore, a nutty mid-palate, a gently lingering finish. It is, as you observed, "hipster coffee"--intentionally expressive, though perhaps too acidic for a more classical palate. On flavor alone, a three out of five. Yet the experience is marred by a most unforgivable intrusion: a hair in the initial cup. Such a thing should never reach a guest. Ever. And beyond the plate--there is service. Dishes arriving out of sequence. Eggs meant for one guest appearing with another's delayed entrée. A table divided, one diner finished while the other waits. Explanations that do not align with reality. Items placed without acknowledgment or intention. These are not minor stumbles; they are fractures in the very architecture of hospitality. The Verdict Lion & Owl is a restaurant caught between what it is capable of and what it consistently delivers. There is real talent in this kitchen--evident in the pancakes, in the conceptual ambition of the menu, in flashes of thoughtful composition. But talent without rigor is unreliable. And hospitality without coordination is hollow. For every moment of genuine pleasure, there is another of carelessness--overcooked bread, stale pastry, inattentive plating, lapses in cleanliness, and disjointed service. In the end, one must judge the whole, not the highlights. Overall score: 2 out of 5. A restaurant with promise--undeniably--but one that must remember that excellence is not achieved in moments. It is achieved in consistency, in care, and in respect for the guest at every stage of the meal. Until then, Lion & Owl remains... a place that almost is.

Both my self and my wife have spent extensive time in Italy and know Italian quarantine very well. So we were quite interested in trying this location based on many of the reviews a the menu. This is my verdict. I ordered the LASAGNA DELLA CASA, and the Tiramisu for the desert. First the lasagna, I read the Yelp reviews on this establishment prior to ordering. For the most part the reviews were good. I read two reviews that claimed that the sauce is canned. After tasting the sauce I can guarantee that those who are claiming that the sauce is canned clearly have a pallet that is fit for judging can dog or cat food. When it comes to real cuisine they have no clue of what they are talking about. I can guarantee the sauce is hand made. Even with it being take out I can tell you that. The lasagna was very good. The sauce was outstanding, the pasta was perfectly cooked and the Italian sausage is amazing. It has a perfectly balanced flavor with a wonderful flavor of fennel, not over powering yet its presences was very enjoyable. Overall for take out I was impressed. I will definitely be returning to this location to try this dish again in a dine in experience. Now for the Tiramisu. I have eaten this dessert in Italy at some very high end restaurants. As far as the Tiramisu at Beppe & Gianni's, it is on par with the best that I have eaten in some of the best Italian restaurants in and throughout Italy. And absolute symphony of wonderfulness. Let me remind you this was a take out order, that being said I am looking forward to returning to this location for the sit down experience. When I do that, I will take photographs of the cuisine and post them. It is not fair to an establishment to take pictures of takeout. When I went into the Restaurant to pick it up, I saw the plating and it was outstanding. The takeout box just doesn't do it justice. I highly recommend this location.

I had heard about it from friends and so my partner and I first tried it out and were highly impressed with the food, the servce and the ambiance. The menu is just a bit limited but between the specials and the menu offerings, there was plenty to choose from. Above all, what they do, they do very well. I and my partner ate at Rye three nights ago and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience in every way. AMBIENCE... The dining room is terrific. Lots of dark wood. The lighting of the room is especially conducive to privacy but not isolation. Inasmuch as it was raining to beat the band when we arrived, entering felt like a welcoming respite. The patrons' chatter was subdued but clearly they were having a great time. FOOD... We ordered cocktails (I enjoyed a Cocchi Rye whiskey cocktail which was delicious. The French onion soup I ordered was also very tasty and loaded with mozzarella atop the cup. I then dived into a "special" plate of a Chinook salmon fillet, finished perfectly and sitting on a bed or pureed squash. Excellent, I thought. Afterwards, we shared some sort of fruity pastry, sharing with two forks. SERVICE... From where I sat I could watch the bar activity, even the service window into the kitchen allowed me to watch all the activity. Our server was very efficient and cheerful and engaging without being overbearing in any way. AFTERTHOUGHTS: I will be coming back, of course. Rye is where you want to go to have a very good time eating out. You're not going to spend an arm and a leg to eat there but Rye is definitely not Denny's. The staff has always been (and still very much is) top notch in everything they do...but the food quality has dropped significantly to the point we can no longer justify the expensive. We've learned the changes began shortly after a new owner came in. Some of the changes we've noticed: The fish in the fish 'n chips is now buried in deep fried batter to the point I had to peel away most of the breading just to get to what little fish was there. The steak and eggs ($30) offers barely 4 ounces of steak, small heap of potatoes and two eggs...not enough to justify the price. They downgraded their organic, thick-cut pepper bacon to some odd, paper thin variety that is not very appealing and it would seem they no longer make their biscuits gravy in house! It now looks and tastes bland and pasty...industrialized. They used to have magnificent herbed gravy made from scratch so this is particularly disappointing. They no longer have real maple syrup. The prices remain that of an organic, farm-to-table but the food no longer qualifies and is very overpriced for what it is. I will really miss my Sunday mornings there but I just can't stomach these shortcomings. Very sad to see our favorite restaurant reduced to this state. If I could, I would give the staff 5+ stars and the food 1.
