We really appreciated the little things they did to help us celebrate- a little card on the table, a small complimentary glass of prosecco to toast, and a complimentary dessert. They really helped it feel like a special night! We tried the spicy shrimp as an appetizer and both really liked it. Husband had a ribeye and I had the salmon. It was possibly the best cooked salmon I have ever had. And we each got two sides, though the sides seemed generous and one would've been plenty for each. We ended up taking home leftovers of just sides. I think it was the most expensive meal out my husband and I have ever had but we felt it was worth it for the special occasion. We had dinner here tonight for our wedding anniversary. We got seated promptly, had a nice card on our table wishing us happy anniversary, we then had a large assortment of bread placed at our table, along with water. However, It took quite a while for our assigned wait person to get to our table, which she explained she had a large assignment. We then ordered our cocktails, which took 15-20 minutes to be delivered. It then took another 15 minutes for our wait person to come and take our food order. My wife ordered the French Onion soup and the pork chop, I ordered the spicy shrimp and the Kennedy Steak. Both of the main dishes tasted fantastic, and were filling! Hint, don't eat too much of the bread at the beginning . Overall the ambiance of the place was nice but a bit pretentious. Our wait person although sweet, and friendly was overwhelmed with her assignment. All told we didn't get our order taken for about 35-40 mins after being seated Given that, we were there for 2 1/2 hours as a result. The wait time we encountered and the steak prices are reasons I rate this place less than 5 stars, in addition to it being a bit pricey. read more

Celebrated a U of O graduation for my son here at Kennedy's Steakhouse. We ordered Bone in Ribeye, Filet mignon, and the Seared sablefish. The steaks were cooked to perfection, very juicy and melted in your mouth. The grilled Sablefish had very flaky meat with crispy skin. We started off with soft bread rolls and our sides were hand cut fries, creamed corn, grilled asparagus, and brussel sprouts. All the food was amazing and the restaurant felt high class but homely at the same time. The restaurant had plenty of seating inside, both tables and booth seating. Got seated, ordered, got our food, ate and got the bill and paid it all in 40 minutes. I've never been so rushed before. I ordered the pork chop and beet salad. My son got the 8 ounce filet and french fries and his roommate got the Caesar salad. I have no idea how it tasted because me and my son and his roommate felt very rushed. Our waiter kept asking if we were done and if we needed containers. The hostess took my son's roommate Caesar salad away while he was still eating. We had reservations and they weren't busy. So what gives?!! So I had no idea why they were trying to get rid of us so fast. Made reservations about a week early. We got into Eugene earlier than expected. Our reservations were 7:30 pm and they were able to accommodate moving ours up to 6:30 which we really appreciated. And this is on a Friday night before game day. The steak was amazing! Everything is À la cart. I got the ribeye with green peppercorn sauce. I haven't had a steak like that in a long time. The next day I was still satisfied. French fries were really good too. Mac n cheese was pretty neutral, nothing to write home about. The atmosphere was lively (just a heads up no tvs in the bar area in case you were hoping to watch a game). The service was excellent! It was really refreshing to have such good customer service. It is a nice restaurant and expensive, but if it's a special occasion or whatever... it's worth it. I definitely recommend it. read more

I've been to Kennedy's approximately 10-12 times. It was really good for the first 6 or 7 visits and it's slowly gone downhill. It is still good but it's no longer good enough to support the high prices. I've had some good meals that warrant the cost. Service has always been great. Atmosphere is amazing. Food is inconsistent. I'm disappointed after the meal I had with my family a couple Nights ago. It cost us $450 for four people and it just wasn't great. I think we will move on from here. read more

Went here for my 2 year anniversary with my boyfriend! Excellent experience! We had been saving for our anniversary trip so we could spoil ourselves and we definitely felt spoiled. it was our first time visiting Kennedy's, and we traveled all the way from California we had the most amazing time celebrating our second wedding anniversary. We had a pleasure of having Vera as our server, she was so attentive answered all of our questions and she made such amazing suggestions. not only were we greeted with a happy anniversary personalized card and complementary prosecco , when we sat down Vera made sure to take a Polaroid of me and my husband at dinner. High class in Eugene. We made reservations through Open Table & indicated that we celebrating an anniversary. The hostess greeted us with "happy anniversary" as she seated us. The server said "I understand that you are celebrating an anniversary". As we were reading the menus we noticed that there was a "Happy Anniversary" card propped up by the salt & pepper shakers. Then the server came to our table with two glasses of champagne for us to toast with. Finally, after our meal they offered us free dessert. Oh yeah, the steaks and lobster were excellent. I had an Old Fashioned that was presented with a chimney on top & a skewered orange peel. The server removed the chimney and the smoke escaped. Best OF I've ever had. The auxiliary staff kept our water glasses filled & several staff members stopped by the table to make sure that we were enjoying our meal. This is my second review of Kennedy's in Eugene...and I continue to stand by first review...this is hands down the best steakhouse/steak in Eugene and one of the best in Oregon..I put this place ahead of Ringside located in my home town of Portland. With the exception of one bad visit (been here about 5 times)...the service is usually exceptional. The food is also fantastic..this last visit I had their special which was Waygu filet -- that was one of the top 5 steaks I had ever had (and I eat a lot of steak all across the nation!). The side of mash was amazing and the bread is always so good...the cheesecake for desert was heavenly! If you are in Eugene please give it a try...worth the time!! read more

Arrived about 5 minutes before our time and were immediately seated. The waitstaff were professional and very friendly. We ordered drinks, an appetizer, steak and two sides. The beef tar tar was amazing and had great flavor. The temperature it was served at was perfect. Steak was phenomenal and had a beautiful crust. For our sides we decided on the asparagus and corn. Wasn't sure what to expect. Last time I was in the building it was a steelhead brewpub, now it's a delightful steakhouse. It was our anniversary and we wanted to try something new. We were greeted and seated quickly (we did have a reservation, which I would suggest). We were greeted at the table by Stacy our server and she was lovely. We ordered the sriracha shrimp appetizer (no photo, sorry) it was delicious. The bread that arrived was a fun mix of things. I ordered a dirty martini and it was prepared table-side by Canyon, who was also super friendly and fun. Our dinner arrived, delivered by Jelani, also a super friendly and fun fellow! The Kennedy's steak is an 8oz fillet mignon Oscar style with crab AND shrimp. It was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The beet salad was, by my wife's account, fresh and delicious. Marcos and Alejandro (brothers) kept our waters full and our table neat, both of them were delightful. The restaurant has a nice feel to it, including lights on the table that you can adjust to one of three settings to set the mood the way you like. It isn't cheap, but the food was fresh and fabulous and this may have been one of the friendliest restaurants I've ever visited. We decided to celebrate our one year wedding anniversary at this popular Eugene steakhouse and it could not have been a better choice. We arrived early and enjoyed a drink at the bar before being seated quickly. We ordered the candied bacon, filet 8 oz, and the bone in filet 10 oz which were cooked to absolute perfection, exactly what you would hope for at a steakhouse. The brussels sprouts and mashed potatoes were equally delicious. Service was flawless and truly a 10/10. We came for a date night and enjoyed such a great meal with wonderful service. They make a great dirty martini and my partner enjoyed his drinks too. The bread basket was generous and delicious, the ribeye steak was cooked to perfection even when having it requested to be served sliced, the baked potato was lovely, and the three extra shrimp we ordered on the side were some of the best we've ever had. I really wanted to like this place. I went for my birthday and my steak was overcooked (medium rare became well done) and the macaroni and cheese I got tasted like it came from a box. When I said something to the waiter, I was told, "Well, I didn't recommend it" - but he didn't _not_ recommend it! The butter cake was overcooked and not good. It was disappointing, especially for the price of the meal. I came back a second time, thinking that maybe it was a fluke because I had sat at the bar. This time, the waitress was very kind, but the steak came out medium well. When you're paying $70+ for a steak and at a restaurant that claims to be a steakhouse, you expect the steak to be cooked right. Twice, months apart? I won't be back. The complimentary bread and butter was so good. The steak melted in your mouth and was seasoned perfectly. Savannah was taking care of us and she was excellent! The chef also sent the table a complimentary dessert (cheesecake or butter cake) after hearing we were celebrating a birthday. We chose the cheesecake and it was rich, creamy, and silky smooth. My spouse's steak was a little overdone for their liking, the server noticed and immediately handled it by going back for a refire. I am so disappointed with this place. that being said, it was not all bad! We stared off with the pretzel in the bread basket, that was great, our drinks were good. We ordered ceasar salad , filet mignon, the Kennedy steak, New York steak, asparagus, Mac-n-cheese, the corn, and the lobster mashed potatoes. The salad was really lemony, the lettuce was cut in to big a size, and there were an intense amount of bread crumbs on it (not the greatest but eatable) the filet was great 10/10. The asparagus had a woody stock on it, not acceptable for a steak house! 0/10. Mac-n-cheese was okay, nothing special 5/10. The corn my whole family enjoyed, creamy but not drenched is sauce, don't expect it to blow your mind, we enjoy corn 8/10. I also ordered the Lobster mashed potatoes, this was just fraught up bad, it tasted fishy, I bit into a shell and it was just BAD! 0/10 Now we also had the butter cake... that was great 8/10! Not too sweet and a nice warm treat to end a disappointing night on a high note. Some other observations opinions... The restaurant was frizzing cold when we were seated! We had to flag our server down for everything we needed, I stop short of saying she was bad because I think she had 10 or so tables maybe the restaurant is understaffed...??? We had the iceberg salad that was absolutely delicious, that's sourdough bread, especially made and also very delicious. There was a nice card on the table when we sat down thanking us for sharing my birthday with them. Staff were sooo friendly! For drinks, I started with a Cherrywood Smoked Old Fashion and Julie went with the Tableside Martini. The drinks went down with some of the best Small Oysters I've ever had (and that's saying something). So fresh and great flavors. For dinner, we went with steaks. I had the Bone-in Ribeye which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. Julie had the Filet Mignon which was also top notch. Aside of Asparagus was another win. We had to leave early to make a show at the Hult and they just rolled with it and sent us on our way with a wrapped butter cake for us to eat later (also amazing). My son & I picked out Kennedy's after hearing this was a favorite spot of an excellent Ducks coach. It was an easy walk from Autzen and were happy to get out of the cold. Relaxing supper club vibe. We ordered two smoked Old Fashions that were expertly crafted. Oysters on the half shell were excellent and went well with the complimentary bread basket. We ordered a ribeye(excellent) and the double cut long bone pork chop(phenomenal). Kennedy's is a very close comparison to some of the steak joints I've been to in Vegas, LA and Dallas/FtWorth. The food was mediocre for the price back then.... HOWEVER, we decided to try it again because my son LOVED the lobster Mac n cheese. When we went back this time the food was fantastic!!! The fries as an appetizer were SO good! I ordered the long bone pork chop with arugula, and apple slaw, it was TO DIE FOR! Perfectly cooked and the pairing of fruits and veggies was amazing! I also ordered a side of mashed potatoes and shared with my daughter. I've never really been a fan of main dishes not coming with at least one side but I did like that it was easy to share. 2 of my kids split a New York steak and it was the perfect amount of meat, it was cooked perfectly medium rare as ordered. Of course my other son ordered his old stand by of lobster Mac n cheese and loved it just as much. My husband had the seared ahi tuna. It was a lot smaller than we expected for the $$$. We are used to big Hawaii prices but with those prices you usually get a decent amount (I realize that it is easier to come by there). Our server was lovely and the atmosphere is very chic! After hearing so many great things about this place, we decided to make a reservation for a fun date night. We were seated right away, and the atmosphere was lovely -- warm, classy, and inviting. A basket of assorted bread with butter arrived while our cocktails were being made, which was a nice touch. We both ordered the Kennedy's Steak -- a filet Oscar-style topped with crab and Béarnaise sauce -- cooked medium-rare. The Basil Gimlet was excellent, and the steaks looked beautiful when they arrived. Unfortunately, that's where things started to go downhill. Our server dropped off the plates and then disappeared. My steak was significantly overcooked, but since no one returned to check on us, I eventually just ate some of it. The asparagus, however, was delicious. We'd saved room for the butter cake, which had come highly recommended. But by the time our server finally reappeared -- as we were finishing -- it was too late to address the steak issue. He asked if everything was cooked correctly after we were nearly done, never offered another round of drinks or after-dinner coffee, and then told us they were out of the butter cake. Overall, the experience fell short of our expectations. The setting and food have so much potential, but the inattentive service really impacted the evening.
