Being disappointed by the lunch twice, we decided to try the breakfast to give them a fair chance. We shared a crab omelet, so we didn't order two thing we didn't care for- just in case. The omelet took 45 minutes to get to us, and the omelet and our hasbrowns were stone cold when they hit our table. We didn't say anything, because our server seemed great and overwhelmed. Group of 6 for a work lunch about 11:45am on a Tuesday. Able to make reservations due to 6 of us. The service was timely and efficient. The food was tasty with appropriate portion size. Forgot to take any pics. I got the avocado chicken wrap with onion rings. Rings were actual onion rings not minced onion and were warm at best however cooked to a nice crisp. I ordered a cup of Artichoke soup, my sister ordered a cup of clam chowder. We split a chicken wrap. The artichoke soup was delicious but just warm, not hot. Same for the clam chowder except the chowder featured more potatoes than clams. Chicken wrap was excellent and more than enough for two to split. Our waitress was friendly, helpful and the service was great. Lots of varied selections on the menu. We were seated by the restrooms so there were lots of people going back and forth past our table. My wife and I just enjoyed an amazing Thanksgiving dinner prepared by the great staff at Forrester's. The dinner portions were very generous. The turkey was tender and moist. Potatoes and stuffing were tasty. Wife says the gravy was a little salty, but she ate it all . I bought two dinners, but we ended up with plenty of leftovers. The staff was very friendly with everyone, smiles and a nice Thanksgiving greeting. This is the first time that we enjoyed the Forrester's Thanksgiving dinner. My wife just had a total knee replacement so she didn't have much of an appetite. This was an exceptional dinner option. Our experience was perfect. My daughter and I went in for appetizers and a drink. The fried pickles were crunchy and not soggy. The ranch was perfect, and the additional sauce was zesty and flavorful. We also had fried artichoke hearts. That's a tall order considering we are from California and lived only 20 minutes from the artichoke capital of the world. We know good artichoke hearts. I would give them a seven on a scale from 1 to 10. They could easily get up to a 10 if they did an actual fluffy batter on the artichoke hearts. The crust around the artichoke hearts is good but underwhelming. They get an eight because they are hard to find and I was happy. They had them on the menu. Service was perfect. Our waitress was attentive and quick. She was friendly and professional. I had the Marion Berry lemon drop with a sugar rim. It is a premium cocktail and they could do one up with it if they held off on the triple sec, and used orange juice instead. Still, It was absolutely delicious. We also discovered a new cider. If you like a sweet cider, you will love strawberry magic by cider boys. I believe it was on tap and what a treat. Every establishment I walk into starts with five stars, what they do from there is 100% up to them. We ordered onion rings for appetizers which came with two fresh dips and were some of the best rings we've had. Amazing! My dinner came with soup, ordered the Chicken Corn Chowder. Amazing, and would order this again but get a bowl instead. It's that good! Now comes the "Rub" part: I have been eating chicken virtually my entire life and am very versed with it, what it looks like and texture should be, as I had a lot of raising by Southern Grandparents. I love good chicken. What was served was a chopped meat, more on the dark side, for a better terminology, "Chicken McNugget" affair, deep fried and heavily breaded. No beautiful white chicken breast, bursting with flavor. Their menu called it out, and their picture on line showed it. The pictures I took and what I got was a polar opposite. It struck me as a lower-end Sysco-type frozen patty that was pulled out of a bag, deep fried and country grave smothered over it. The corn was frozen and had a weird taste to it, which was confirmed by my wife. Service was good, but she should have questioned why half or so of my meal was still on the plate. Establishment was clean including the restroom and overall had a decent vibe about it. This place has the potential to do much better, they just have to do it. Will we be back? I'd have to think that one over, as there are lots of great restaurants with great offerings for the same price, so we will see. One thing for certain, I would never order the "Country Fried Chicken" as it differs radically from what it is presented to be and what reality is. Has a full bar, and presents itself as a sports eatery. The service was mediocre at best. Our server said she was new. She was very young, and I suspect it is her first job. She took our drink and appetizer order. Returned with our drinks and took our main course order. (She didn't know what French dressing was.) Our salads arrived (with French dressing), and soon our main meal arrived. Then our appetizer arrived. We are not ones to complain, the food was good, except the mashed potatoes. Why do some people add sour cream to mashed potatoes? I HATE SOUR CREAM. The appetizer was hot. The country fried steak was just frozen patties, and mediocre at best. Wifey had the shrimp, she said it was good. All in all, while our server has a lot to learn. The food was OK, the service was comical. As for cost, it's not cheap, but not expensive. Finally got by here for a breakfast experience (more like brunch time). Our server was very nice and very efficient, which was great considering they were once again plenty busy and always seem like they could benefit from one more set of hands. I ordered the special which was pumpkin crepes and they just need one word - YUM. They were light and sweet and delish. Sometimes when I order something sweet for breakfast when we go out, I'm disappointed by the overly sweetness. But this was just right and the flavor was pumpkin without being overpowering. My side of egg and sausage was good too (hard to go wrong there). I would LOVE to know how they get the eggs perfectly round AND not stick to a pan.... I don't recall what my cohorts had but I think they also enjoyed their food offerings. We came back today so we could try out a few other menu items and we were not disappointed! We were greeted promptly and were seated at a table, drinks orders were taken immediately. I couldn't resist those breaded calamari sticks, they are actually tender, not chewy. In addition we also tried the chicken strip appetizer. The breading on these was not spicy at all, allowing for the flavor of the juicy and tender chicken to come through. It had a very satisfying crunch as well and came with ranch and barbecue dipping sauces. The Classic Fettuccine Alfredo with Chicken came with thick sliced toasted and buttered garlic bread. It also came with grilled chicken and was topped with pasta that was cooked to a perfect texture and a sauce that was smooth and had a very good flavor and consistency. We also had the Southwest Chopped Chicken Salad. The veggies were crisp and fresh and came with chicken that was well seasoned and sliced into bite size pieces I opted for the Western Barbecue Cheeseburger with fries. The burger was cooked to order and came on a brioche bun with a side of fresh cut lettuce,onion and tomato. The fries were fresh hot and crispy! We found the overall service to be very friendly and prompt and the food presentation was outstanding. With breakfast served all day AND an outstanding dinner menu, I'll have to make at least two more trips to cover the bases here.
