I've been going to Cornucopia since I moved here over 15 years ago but I somehow never made it to this location. It's right on Main Street and has a long communal table down the middle with smaller tables lining the sides. My husband went with the corny deal which is a cheeseburger (with all the fixings), fries, and a soda. It's actually cheaper than the regular one on the menu! I went with the Aloha burger. They recently went back to having one size for all their burgers and reduced their prices a little so all the single burgers are now under $20. Glad to see they have staying power and that they're responding to what consumers want and need. read more

The restaurant is a storefront with windows on Main Street, the kitchen in the back and the bar between it and the dining area. The uncrowded dining area has seating for perhaps 40 people. Waitstaff are pleasant knowledgeable and prompt. The menu is extensive and tends toward fried food and salads. We ate wonderful fried calamari, onion rings and giant and flavorful hamburgers that are prepared in standard and fanciful ways. All was throughly delicious. Cornucopia is a great place to go and eat and just chill, I got the Philly tempeh it was good nothing special but it was a huge portion so I did have leftovers. Their salads are also great but tots I got were pretty unsalted and needed ketchup. The food came pretty quick so nothing to worry about there and people are very friendly. read more

wow. i could not have predicted the experience i had here if i had a damn crystal ball. this restaurant was an experience for real. they had a b roll of cute videos playing on the tv which was very nice. the decorations in there were both eclectic and somehow flowed together very well. our server was so kind and so helpful! i don't know his name but he had a beard and he was real as fuck. the food greatly surpassed my expectations. the quality of the meat on the burger was just so insane and really made it. the chicken pot pie was creamy and had a nice mix of flavors with a crispy croissant-like crust. the bathrooms smelled like cinnamon and spice and the soap was really nice. this place is just fucking lit. read more

Charging more for using a credit card in 2024 is stupid. They recently changed their CC policy to add 3% onto your order if you pay with a credit card. CC processing fees is just part of doing business, your not special and with their already jacked their prices it's getting ridiculous. $21 for a French dip is crazy, and almost $4 for a soda is up there too. Now you're making me have to remember to use cash or a debit card every time I come in because your the one restaurant in town that's going to ding me for using my CC? I've taken my family to this location probably 16 times in the last few years, after my last visit it's going to be a hard pass. Hope that 3% was worth 100% loss of my business. read more

Waitress was on the verge of being rude, even my table mates were shaking their heads at that attitude. I came in here with my husband last night for dinner. We were very excited to see Cornucopia open a location closer to home for us, and help give downtown more great places to eat. We had been out playing Pokémon Go all afternoon and were starving. Side note, there's two stops that can be reached from inside the restaurant. 4, if the GPS drifts you far enough. We were immediately greeted and seated when we walked in. The restaurant is tiny, with long tables. My first thought was, I'm going to hate this place. Honestly I did, because I'm not big on the group/community tables thing. But that's just me. They did have a row of tables that were more separated along the wall, and we picked that. This was perfect for us. For as loud as it was in there, we still got to chat and have a great time. I was pleasantly surprised that the layout didn't deter from us being able to talk to each other. We had Jake for our server and he answered all of our questions, super attentive and helpful. He explained the daily special, which was a burger and a beer. My one big complaint was they couldn't do fried eggs for some reason. I was seriously craving a fried egg on my burger. So the menu is a bit more limited in comparison to the Eugene locations. But that is the kitchen setup, and not really anyone's fault. Just happened to be the one thing I was craving last night and looking forward to. The food was great, as always. I think it was better than the Eugene locations, oddly enough. Still mostly the same menu, but simply executed with a little more care and finesse. Burgers were cooked perfectly, juicy, and exactly how we ordered them. Cheese curds are greasy, gooey, cheesy happiness. The food and service both were fantastic. Would I return? Oh yeah. I can easily see this becoming my go-to place to grab a burger in downtown Springfield. It's the same Cornucopia I enjoyed in Eugene, but with more finesse and closer to home. I was there on 9/19/24 with my coworkers for an employee retirement lunch. Granted we were a party of 16 but the food was very slow coming out. I had ordered a hamburger and wanted it cooked medium well and asked for no ketchup. The burger was overcooked and rubbery, no condiments at all and the tater tots were over fried. Another coworker had the fish tacos and the tortilla was hard and crumbled. Another coworker had the fish and chips and the fish was over fried. Very disappointed. read more

The place is relatively narrow for a restaurant. So packing in the people means seating on the perimeter and center seating. This place would be great for large parties as long as it's not too busy when your group arrives. There are a couple tv's to watch sports on. One for the restaurant and the other if seated at the bar. Prices are overpriced as usual for cornucopia but expect to pay 15 bucks for a burger and side.. just note that their burgers are 1/2 pound and quite large. Worth it if you're hungry. read more

Before Covid I was never a big fan of cornucopia. They were always crowded and I was just never wowed. They are now my go to place. I seen this place several times out of the corner of my eye but it was just a blur as I was driving down Main St in Springfield, today I was on my way to another one of my favorite places and it kinda reached out and slapped me in the face so in I went. I have been to the other two Cornucopia places so I pretty much knew what to expect and I was not disappointed. I still stand by my review of their burgers being the very best I have ever had anywhere I have ever been. While visiting a friend, we needed to eat before heading out to the woods for the weekend. She is vegetarian and I am a gluten free omnivore. We decided to give this place a try. They were busy, with only two wait staff. We were sat quickly enough and given water. My friend ordered a beer to give me some time to look over the menu, as the menu is marked with gluten free items, but not many. And the waiter was less than helpful when asked questions. We settled on salads, I got the house salad with brown rice and honey mustard dressing, and my friend got the Big green salad with vinaigrette. I really enjoyed my salad, it was HUGE! Decently priced. I think we spent more time waiting for our food and to pay than actually eating, which is saying a lot, since we both had huge salads to eat. Prices are a bit high for a burger. It seems as a standard here burgers are cooked as medium well or well done. I keep forgetting to ask for my burger to be medium. I've had way better burgers for less. The Mac and Cheese is really good. I'm a snob in this dept and make my own. It's not lacking in cheese sauce and it's not drenched in it either. The spices are just right and not overpowering. It really is a must try. The pretzel is awesome but neither my daughter and I were impressed with the bacon cheese sauce. Worst dining experience in recent memory. We sat outside since it was a nice evening and there were only two others outside. That's where the pleasantries ended. When our order finally came, only half of it arrived. The waitress delivering the food, who was not the waitress who took our order, was confused and went back to find out where it was. We still don't know what happened, as all we got was a lot of attitude from the waitress who came to tell us it hadn't been cooked. She first told us the original waitress didn't know I had ordered it. I was baffled by that...the waitress and I discussed whether the chicken was peppery or not and then when she confirmed it wasn't seasoned, I told her I'd have that. When I asked the waitress who came to tell me I'd be waiting for it to be cooked what happened and that I didn't understand how the original waitress missed it, she threw her hands in the air and said, "Well, I don't know if she missed it or forgot or what! It'll be seven minutes!" I stopped engaging with her at that point. She continued to rant saying, "We're only human!" and eventually stomping away. Her pissy attitude continued throughout the visit, including delivering the rest of our order (overcooked) 15 minutes later and saying something to the effect of it only being an extra 5 minutes. At this point, the other person at the table had eaten and was now sitting there waiting for me to eat my meal. People who came 20 minutes after us had all eaten and left. When the bill came--after everyone else's outside at that point--the waitress made the comment that they'd done a good job taking care of the order mess. I'm sorry, what? My husband said how disappointing the whole experience was. He said that the original waitress, who never came back after taking the order and delivering one drink refill, looked at our empty cups four times before coming to our table, despite visiting the surrounding tables multiple times and bringing their refills, as an example. He also said that if there had just been honesty when the food was missed, it would've been a lot better. We just felt forgotten about all evening while tables all around us were being served. He said he knew it wasn't her fault and that the waitress who made the error, apparently, should've just come to our table and let us know what was going on. The waitress (of three different ones we saw this evening) got really angry at this point and began arguing with my husband. She was ranting and raving about how they were really busy, that she was working EXPO and helping the other waitress, and on and on and on, adding that the waitress who'd screwed all this up had some lessons to learn. I'd had enough. I told her that I understood the challenges of waitressing; I've done it. But that his point was that the waitress who caused all this mess should be the one here learning the lesson. She should understand how the error dominoes on multiple levels. That was apparently the wrong thing to say. She yelled at me. Told me I was a miserable person, that she was being a twit because I had "copped an attitude" and that she was walking away. She stomped off still yelling at us. Customers sitting at the last table sat there with wide eyes and gaping mouths. Everyone continued to watch her in amazement as she dumped leftover contents of drink glasses out on the street next to the tables, dousing the car parked curbside there. This was such a simple thing that could have been remedied simply by the original waitress letting us know the *real* explanation of what was happening. We're not unreasonable and have been here before, but we absolutely won't be back. I've NEVER seen a waitress act like this woman, nor have I ever been treated so badly. Calling your customers names? Yelling at them? Arguing? Just unbelievable. read more

Our group had to request basically everything from napkins, utensils, refills on water, our check when we were finished.. it was just very disappointing because I had heard good things and wanted to like the place. And fyi for the servers. Please don't tell us that you will bring the check and then proceed to disappear for 15 minutes. Then we asked the other server and she never brought the check. The wonderful and attentive busser who overheard our requests and noticed the group becoming frustrated he finally brought the check. That's your best employee.. maybe he should be serving instead? No apology or mention of the wait from the server was the icing on the cake. The food was just alright. Nothing special and when combined with the abysmal service we left frustrated and disappointed. My daughter googled restaurants on our way into town and we ended up here. We were a little skeptical to go in as it does look like a bar from the street but we are soooo glad we did! Service was amazing and the burgers were BOMB!! By far the best burgers we have ever eaten! Fresh and delicious! They had a wide variety on their menu including lots of vegan options and substitutions available and the waitress was great with suggestions.
