I have been here for a steak before and it was actually really good. So I was excited to see that they had breakfast. I asked for the gravy on the side and they smothered it. Making everything soggy. Also, I asked for poached eggs. They were hard almost like they were hard boiled at this point. I got this delivered within 30 minutes of ordering, which was fast! But still all soggy. The country fried steak itself and gravy were bland. Needs some love. I really wanted to like it. I have been to the restaurant. The service was friendly. Spending a lot of time down in Eugene recently and decided to try the the Grid Iron Grill for lunch. Have stopped in here before for breakfast which was very good for "bar food" and opted for lunch which today was the Italian Salad. Again...far exceeded my expectations -- I mean just look at the presentation! The prices are also very wallet friendly here and the staff are super friendly as well. This place is definitely a bit off the path but I would strongly recommend for breakfast or lunch and a good drink! read more

First time here and was a refreshing stop on a warm day. My wife ordered a couple of appetizers (fried mushrooms and loaded fries) and I ordered a couple of different ciders. Both were cold, tasty, and refreshing. They had a $5 special going and my wife ordered a couple of vodka (Tito's) soda-waters. We both enjoyed our drinks, but the bartender, Jennifer, was awesome. She was funny and engaging and was effortlessly covering the whole place herself. She just moved back to the area from Kirkland WA and was hilarious in her story telling of her return to the area. The place had a country-western vibe and although I am much more into rock, the music was good for a change. What was funny to the whole place was when an obvious "Baby Shark" inspired tune came on the jukebox, Jennifer ran out from behind the bar with a remote and shut it off saying "Ah hell no". This is the Friday special (they vary). Lasagna with a pesto drizzle...fantastic. Caesar salad and bread round it out. Friday's are also funk you up Fridays which is all top shelf drinks are $4 in December and $5 after. I don't think that can be beat. This is the local hangout so everyone knows each other. Went there for a Bloody Mary because it always gets shout outs for being a good choice. I don't know what it is about the Bloody Mary mix they use but it's delicious. I believe it's a house made one and then the bartender takes their own spin on making it even better. It's got lots of snacks in it which is always a win and a nice thick slice of bacon. Saturday is also their cheap mixed drinks specials. When can you get a grey goose and soda for 5.00?? We arrived here to wait out a torrential rain. Sat down at the bar and got in a conversation with one of the patrons. Then the servers. Friendly location. We tried their Fish and Chips and the Shrimp and Chips. Both were very good. Drink prices were also amazing and very tasty. We came back another time and had their clam chowder and a French Dip Sandwich. Enjoyed their Spaghetti with meat sauce on another occasion. Awesome place to eat ... great food that's usually up pretty quick depending on business flow, incredible bartenders and usually up to date with the latest mixers, good beer on tap and always at least one cider on tap as well. Most micro brews on tap are local. A special for each day of the week along with personal specials put on the board by the cook on shift. Monday has a "Burger and Brew" special, Tuesdays are "Taco Tuesdays" and serve soft/crunchy tacos, taco salads, a super burrito, tostadas, fish tacos, nachos and more. Fridays are reserved for a the Prime Rib special served with a loaded baker and veggies as well as a Captains Platter and fresh clam chowder made that day. 16oz Ribeye and 8oz Sirloin are usually available all days of the week. Friday and Saturday have karaoke starting at around 9pm. The inside can get a little cramped on these nights, but there is an outdoor area that has decent seating and outdoor heating. Prices are fair and patrons are kind. It's a bar and grill, and it can't be helped if an occasional weirdo shows up, but other than that, it's a nice place to sit and eat or have a drink with a friend. I've noticed that other reviews here State that it takes a long time for food, or bartenders tend to avoid people. In some cases it might take food orders longer than usual to come up, so keeping in mind that there is usually only one cook on shift, sometimes it takes a little longer because it's a small kitchen with limited space and manpower. Bartenders in some cases might mistake a face, so if avoidance is occurring, then just ask one of the lovely ladies for help, or check in to make sure you're not being mistaken for someone you're not. It simply tasted too bland, and all there was for excitement was ketchup. And salt and pepper. Menu prices are fairly average for main street Springfield. Service was average. Not much ambiance unless you enjoy video poker. My best advice is to order whatever the daily special is. All in all, quite an unmemorable experience. read more

Just had lunch here while I was getting snow tires installed down the block at Les Schwab. I've driven by here a thousand times but never stopped. So glad I did. Friendly, professional staff. Fast service. And the best Reuben sandwich I've had in Oregon! Slow cooked in Guinness Beer. Large side of tots. Cooked perfectly, served hot. So large a serving that I could only eat half, and now I have dinner. This, plus two drinks for under 20 dollars. Wow. So I work for Grubhub and I picked up a order from this place. Chicken strips & fries wi. blue cheese dressing. During the delivery the customer canceled the order! It was weird yes, but I kept the order and moved on. Then I tried it and realized perhaps why. The fries were pale and bland, with no seasonong, underdone! The chicken was frozen packaged crap, edible? deep fried garbage. The dressing was the worst of all! Blue cheese (not) tasted like it was made with Miracle Whip, a flavor horror show. This is a fantastic local dive bar. I just got a burger and a brew for only $5.50 !!!! Crazy. Came with fries or tots. $.50 extra for cheese. When you walk in, it's dark and noisy....don't let this deter you from staying. The bartenders & staff are crazy busy..... The food is not typical bar food, it's more pub style food (they even offer a salad bar that looked good) I had the mini sliders, but they were bigger than typical sliders & sooo good! As far as bar food goes, this is some of the best! I try to go every Spaghetti Wednesday, where they feature all you can eat of the most delicious bolognese. If you're not a regular, don't bother. Waitress was so nice and friendly until we ordered, then we never saw her again. I didn't get what I ordered. She never came to check on us after the kitchen guy brought our food. Had to wait at the bar to get our check while she cleared tables and waited on the regulars coming through the door. Told her I didn't get what I ordered and she claimed that she was sure I ordered what I got. Food was not great, no ac, flies everywhere. She did not offer a discount or a comp. Went ahead and ate half my husband's sandwich and my tots, otherwise I'd still be sitting there waiting to ask for what I ordered. On the plus side, the Bloody Mary was great. Derek has since been let go. We have currently been waiting for tacos for over 45 minutes. A friend of mine is on a diet where she cannot eat after a certain time. When she mentioned it she was ridiculed in front of other customers. When we complained at our table we were later accused of having called a waitress names which is completely false. We were asked to leave for expecting our food in a reasonable amount of time.
