Mushroom Torte

Spent a week in Eugene and Yelped and ate at no less than 10 restaurants and this was by far my favorite! Loved the apps, main course and the Pistachio Pie was one of a kind! My favorite drink served was "Cat Video". Service matched the food and was Top Shelf! Very intimate setting.

Duck Confit and an espresso martini.

Looking for a place to grab a bite in a cocktail after a long day on the road we found Bar Purlieu. What a great spot! They were busy, and I suspect they always are, so we grabbed two spots at the bar and ordered dinner there. This gave us a great opportunity to watch the bartenders work their craft, and they're very good at it. We had a couple of amazing cocktails, including an espresso martini done with a French twist and we had excellent food. I can heartily recommend the duck confit. The ambience inside is set up to be reminiscent to a local French bistro and they pull it off nicely. Service is timely, friendly, and food is outstanding. I don't know why we don't see more French cuisine on the West Coast, so thanks to these folks for providing such a great option.

Little gem salad

Of all the food served, the only dish that was hot was the mussel. As enticing as the menu describes the dishes to be, they show up on the table in a mess and disappointing taste. The breads were brick hard, the meat overcooked, the seasoning missing or overpowering in one component. I am not sure which of these dishes can even be considered french food or fine dining. We were sat outside on the sidewalk as a large party, and quite oftentimes overlooked in service. They had either forgotten our order or the utensils or water.

I mean what a welcome brunch this was coming off the flight from DC! First brunch experience here! From amazing personal service to a welcoming warm environment to the amazing delicious food! Another wonder experience at this beautifully decorated sweet establishment!

Before visiting Eugene for OCF, I found this place on Yelp and luckily it did not disappoint! After reading an article about the owners and the restaurant, I made a reservation right away. French inspired food with a changing menu, it's best to share dishes. It's casual, yet fancy. Our server, Claire, was helpful and curated all our choices nicely. We started with bread and butter, little gem salad, and some escargots. Bread was okay, needed some sea salt. The salad was phenomenal - fresh, crisp - loved the pistachio streusel! My partner tried escargot for the first time and went back for more. They were the best I've ever had! Grilled zucchini with walnut butter & blue cheese dressing was an excellent combination! I would order again. Seared scallops were a little small, but seared well! I liked the dish, but I wouldn't order again if still the tomato sauce. The stars of the show were definitely the mussels and the mushroom tart! Wow!! I was hesitant on the mussels, but mixed with the green coconut curry and tomatoes, it was perfect to us. The cream sauce on the tart makes you want to lick the plate! I could eat that for breakfast or dinner. I could also drink a gallon of the Barbera red wine. The Bird of Prey drink was delicious, slightly reminiscent of Dr. Pepper. For dessert, we had the pistachio pie with chocolate ganache - absolutely divine! We noticed the couple next to us get a slice earlier, and I will say not all slices seemed created equal - as ours was a sliver in comparison - but we didn't need more in the end anyways. I was pretty bummed their espresso maker was down, because that would have been the perfect ending to a phenomenal meal. Claire did try to make up for it with a tasty pour over. Overall, fantastic! 10/10 would recommend you eat here. Side note: Our table was right next to the window and under a ledge where they keep all the plates and silverware - so staff kept coming right above us - I can't say I loved that table.

OVERVIEW: A cozy, intimate neighborhood spot serving up seasonal menu items with unique flavors and fresh farm-to-table ingredients. A little of everything, this is a great spot for dinner! Service is casual and reservations aren't required. Overall, we really enjoyed everything we ordered. 4-4.5/5! FOOD RATINGS: - Bread and butter (3/5): Fresh and cute but basic and a bit pricy for the portion. - Beets and pistachios (5/5): Earthy and yummy. The pistachio cream was a bit thicker than we expected - almost like peanut butter - but it was good. - Garden side salad (4/5): Fresh and citrusy. A great side for any dish! - Scallops (4/5): Opted for the small portion which is 3 scallops (5 in the large). Tasty and perfectly seared/cooked. The plate is small for the price but worth it. - Chai spice carrot cake (3.5/5): This was more like a bread slice than cake. The chai spice carrot cake was great, but the goat cheese icing was too sour. Needed more sweetness to balance it out. The candied carrot chip on top was unique.

This place was such a nice surprise while we were in Eugene. The service was extremely attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. The floral arrangements were also beautiful. Our server recommended the inlet oysters to us and they were melt in your mouth creamy - some of our favorite oysters ever. The pork belly and octopus also paired together so nicely. We will definitely be coming back here the next time we are in Eugene.

Super cute place in Eugene, came here for a quick dinner. The weather was so nice we sat outside. Staff is super friendly, not always attentive, but the food overall is really tasty. Presentation and portions are great. My least favorite thing we got was the steak tartare. Really loved the heir tomatoes, the fried cauliflower and the truffle butter on the filet.

Stopped here on a drive back from California and boy was this such a welcome break. The food was absolutely incredible. We tried the oysters, scallops, mushroom tart, halibut, and bread and butter. Honestly I'm not sure which one was my favorite because it was all so good BUT if I had to choose it would be the scallops. We also tried their "milk" (creme anglaise) and cookies as well as the chocolate tarte - they were both fine. However I think I would've chosen another option off their menu and skipped desserts. The service was top notch. Very attentive despite having a pretty full restaurant. I think this will be a new go to on our trips through Eugene. This definitely has date night vibes but we had no problem bringing our kiddo with us!

Wonderful atmosphere with a very friendly and welcoming staff. The cocktails are well made and the appetizers are delightful. We enjoyed the shell fish and the game hen. They were delicious and presented very well. All in all I think we found a winner.

Bone marrow

Amazing service and wine. We had the pomme frites and bone marrow. I'm picky about my bone marrow and this was the best I've had. Amazing quality and price. Highly recommended! Can't wait to go back and try more things! Also, we were celebrating my birthday and they brought me their chocolate moose which was rich and creamy and lovely! Anita was an absolute doll!

The Skybar is located on the 5th floor of the building along with the Hotel lobby... uh okay. The staff are all very pleasant and accommodating. We went to the SkyBar and found it to be a smallish yet convenient place to wait for guests or visitors along with getting a drink or a bite to eat. The bar looks like it can accommodate about 30 people in the interior. There is a nice outdoor patio that can easily accommodate more when the weather is nice. The barkeeper was very attentive and observant, he took our food and drink requests at the bar and in short order, everything was presented. I had a Moscow Mule that I found to be a refreshing drink. Ginger beer, lime and vodka. An excellent combination. I also had an order of the chicken wings and fries. The fries were a normal shoestring variety, cooked well, nicely salted and came in a metal bowl. The wings I found to be outstanding! I don't usually get wings this well made unless I do it myself. I received 8 wings coated with barbecue sauce on a charcuterie board with the fries. The wings were served nicely hot. The meat was piping hot, juicy and tender. The barbecue coating was a hearty middle of the road sauce, not sweet or too smoky. It was caramelized perfectly for that sticky texture and flavor. Definitely a nice coating. Thankfully the bartender brought us a lot of napkins. The wings and fries made for a satisfying meal. The bar boasts a couple of gas fireplaces that make for a warming environment with a few semi private tables. There is a longer table for a larger group as well as several smaller tables and a few bar stools for game watching. All in all we found the bar to be a cozy semi-private environment, yet available to the guests as they come and go. All around, a nice meeting area and watering hole. We will book our family members for a stay here at the hotel. I'm looking forward to trying more of their specialty drinks.

I and my partner ate at Rye three nights ago and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience in every way. AMBIENCE... The dining room is terrific. Lots of dark wood.
